  • How to include non web pages to the "Create PDF from Web Page" feature?

    In Acrobat Pro (v. 10), when I use the "Create PDF from Web Page" feature, it works great for html pages, but it skips non-html links (doc, pdf, ppt, xls, etc). I need Acrobat Pro to convert those files and put them in the order as well. I don't see an option for this in settings. Is there ANY way I can do this? This is for an archiving purpose and I have 10,000 plus files to convert. Please help.

    This is a question i'm trying to answer too. My issue is that I have a PDF file which itself contains links to both DOC and PDF files. The end result is that I need one consolidated PDF containing all the linked files (in order).
    I can run the "create from web page" on this PDF file, and it'll download them, but not convert them. It just adds them as "jumbled" text to the end of the document. I need it to download, convert, and then append them.
    So, as isunshine3 asked above, any way to have Adobe convert the files that it finds linked when running the "create from web page"?
    THanks
    Matt

  • What settings does the "Create PDF for Review" output use?

    Product: RoboHelp 11 (TCS 5)
    Menu location: Review > Create PDF for Review
    Issue: The default output from the menu location results in output that is unusable: e.g., styles aren't mapping correctly, making the document difficult to read and review. Is there a default print layout or some other control available?
    Ultimate objectives: Track changes, perform shared reviews, import comments from the generated PDF, and so forth.
    Secondary questions: Can I import comments/markup from a shared review if I generated the PDF using the print layout, instead of the Review > Create PDF for Review menu option? If so, will I then be able to manage comments from the Review pane and perform other related-reviewing functions?

    I believe it maps via CSS. I don't believe you can change this behaviour.
    If you generate printed documentation, it is NOT possible to import the review comments.
    Kind regards,
    Willam

  • Upgraded to CS5; TOC Links don't work in the created PDF from InDesign

    We recently upgraded to CS5. When we convert our InDesign User Guide to PDF, the main TOC links don't work. The TOC does function from each chapter page but not from the main TOC. We have done our normal steps in Acrobat to link them. Same issue with various user guides that we have. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

    Thanks for your reply. The problem is the whole page is one image and there should be several clickable areas which point to different links.
    To solve this we have put a textbox over the clickable area, disabled the background and stroke and then right clicked on the textbox and used the hyperlink option to turn the whole box in to a hyperlink.
    We tried several free PDF convertors which couldn’t handle this combination. Then we trailed it with the full desktop version of Adobe Acrobat Pro and it worked a treat. Unfortunately the client didn’t have that software so we signed them up to the online PDF convertor from Adobe and that isn’t handling it.
    Here's the sample document: Dropbox - sample-link.docx we have been doing the tests with.

  • I have signed into adobe, but unable to click on the create PDF icon? Why?

    Has anyone else encountered this problem? if so how did you resolve it?

    Hi clayts,
    I've checked your account; there is no problem with your subscription. So, let's try this:
    Clear the browser cache, and try again.
    Try a different web browser (see System requirements | Acrobat.com for a list of supported browsers).
    Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,

  • What is the difference between the Create PDF and Combined Files Package as they are very similar.

    They are both described the same and are the same cost, although the combined file package has the benefit of merging files as well

    Hi preacher3,
    Time Machine will back up absolutely everything on your Mac and should restore this in place, this includes all applications and preferences as well as documents. Provided you've let Time Machine do a full backup you should be fine with this.
    One of the advantages of using Time Machine apart from it being really simple to set up is that it's so easy to restore, once you've restored from a Time Machine backup you'll find your Mac back in pretty much the same state with apps and files as it was at the time of the last backup.
    See All about Time Machine for some great tips and to learn more
    I hope this helps

  • Cannot Create PDF Acrobat 9.4 Standard Windows 7, 64 bit

    Hi,
    Currenlty my colleague and I have the same issue; we cannot create PDF documents using Acrobat 9.4 Standard or the office plug in, and there is no PDF printer available after the acrobat installation either.
    We are both using Windows 7, 64 bit version. I have checked and confirmed Acrobat 9 on Windows 7 64 bit with Office 2007 should be compatible.
    * When using the 'Create PDF from file' feature from Acrobat we get the following error: "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"
    I have run the installer in repair mode multiple times, same isssue occurs after this is done.
    * When using the Acrobat plug-in for office, for example in Word (we both use Office Professional 2007) and selecting 'Create PDF' it will prompt for a save location, after select save nothing happens, and there is no PDF file created in the save locaton.
    So far I have tried the following without any success:
    - Un-installing and re-installing acrobat, multiple times
    - running the acrobat application in compatability mode for Windows XP
    - attempted to create PDF files from older word versions i.e. .doc and .docx have the same issue
    - attempted to manually install PDF printer using the acrobat installation files - did not work
    * I am aware that Office 2007 will allow me to save a document as PDF, however we still need acrobat for the publishing quality and editing features.
    Any help or suggestions regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated :-)
    Kind Regards,
    Wade

    I understand what you are suggesting. I have two laptops the same model. AA works on one but not the other.  I do have office 7 and a 64 bit OS.
    Thanks for the help

    Subject: Cannot Create PDF Acrobat 9.4 Standard Windows 7, 64 bit
    If you are running a 64-bit version of OFFICE 2007 (if one exists), that may be the issue. AA X did not work with that version until the most recent release as I understand it. Since you have AA 9.4, I am not sure of the compatibility of it with the 64-bit version. It is strange that the printer does not appear. It seems a few others have had similar problems and as I recall, someone made a suggestion to fix that recently -- though it may have been for AA X. You might search on 64-bit or such.

  • Create PDF From Web Page Does Not Create Image Maps Properly

    I have a website that contains image maps. When I "Create PDF From Web Page", these image maps are not rendered properly. From what I can tell, this is a BUG within Acrobat, and I'm hoping that people can confirm this for me.
    I created a test page at http://www.quantumdynamix.net/clients/image-map-test/. I placed the images maps my manually coding the coordinate information, so the maps are PRECISELY placed exactly over the squares. Each image map navigates to an anchor corrisponding to the number on the red square.
    When I created the PDF using the "Create PDF From Web Page" feature, the image maps are rendered improperly. This file can be viewed at http://www.quantumdynamix.net/clients/image-map-test/ImageMapTest.pdf. To view the outlines of the image maps, please select "Tools" -> "Advanced Editing" -> "Link Tool". You can see the outlines are substantially incorrect.
    Please confirm that other can replicate this problem. Any solution to this issue would be very helpful!

    I tested this in Acrobat X and the exact same issue occurs
    http://www.quantumdynamix.net/clients/image-map-test/ImageMapTest-AcrobatX.pdf
    This has to be considered a legatimate bug, especially since IMAGE MAPS is listes as one of the supported HTML features via the help files

  • How to Permanently Hide the "Creating Adobe PDF" Dialog

    When the default printer is set to be the "Adobe PDF" printer and an application creates a print image, the distiller (I presume) displays a dialog entitled "Creating Adobe PDF", with a "Hide" button.
    How does one make the default to NOT show this dialog?
    Thank you in advance.
    Windows 7/Acrobat X Pro

    This removes the "Creating PDF" box, but also seems to remove my ability to rename the documents. I need everything to perform exactly the same (including the rename and save to a specific directory), but I don't need Acrobat telling me it's creating a document as "Print to PDF" already tells me that. Thanks, though!

  • Random error when using cfpdfform to create pdf

    I have a series of pdf forms that have been created with extended rights in reader using both Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro X. I use cfpdfform to pre-populate the form and name it with a unique guid.  Some people randomly are getting the error in reader "This document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader.  The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no lonfer available.  Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
    I have tried to replicate the error using the exact same settings of windows, browser and reader version and cannot replicate.  I have researched extensively online and see many people experiencing the same error message but no clear resolution found.  Below is the code that I am using to save the prepopulated form.  Has anyone else run into this issue?
    <cfset uuid = createuuid()>
            <cfpdfform   source="forms\#url.frpdf#"
                        destination="forms\exh\#variables.uuid##url.frpdf#" overwrite="YES" overwritedata="YES"
                        action="populate">
                <cfpdfformparam name="name" value="#rtrim(variables.company)#">
                <cfpdfformparam name="address1" value="#rtrim(variables.address1)#">

            </cfpdfform>
    <cfcontent file="#expandpath(".")#\forms\exh\#variables.uuid##url.frpdf#" type="application/pdf">

    Depending on your application you may or not be able to carry the links over (reason for graffiti's question). To carry them over you need to use PDF Maker (the create PDF icon in WORD and several other products).

  • Create PDF from webpage font color turns white

    While using Create PDF from a web page the text in the final PDF is colored white so I cannot see it.  Italicized text remains black and is find.  However, the font color of standard text is turned white.  I know the text is there because I can use the text editing tool to copy the text out into notepad.  This problem occurs with Adobe Acrobat X and XI.  However, when I use Adobe Acrobat VIII there is not problem.  Furthermore, with the website I am converting to PDF the problem only happens if I try to convert the entire site, which is about 1,100 pages.  If I stop the job half way, the font color remains fine.
    Any ideas?

    Under the Settings... button in the Create PDF from web page dialog, do you have the checkbox selected for "Force These Settings for All Pages"?

  • Can't create PDF in Acrobat 7.0 Prof.

    Since loading my CS2 programs on my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer, all of the programs work except Acrobat. When I try to create a PDF from MS Word, I get error messages saying that the PDF printer driver is missing and asks me to reinstall the program..I've done that, but it still gives me the same message. If I try creating it in Acrobat, I get a message that it cannot find the Adobe PDF resource files and asks if I would like to run it in repair mode. I've tried that, but I still get the same error messages. Any ideas?
    Thank you,

    Acrobat 7 just isn't compatible in the Windows 7 64-bit environment.
    An excerpt from a KB article from the days of XP x64.
    [ http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/331/331732.html ]
    Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port Printer," when you install Acrobat 7.0 or Acrobat 3D. The Adobe PDF Printer will not be created. Therefore you will be unable to print to the Adobe PDF Printer to create PDF files. Additionally, other PDF creation paths that use the Adobe PDF Printer will fail; this includes the PDFMaker functions in MS Office applications and AutoCAD and the Create PDF From Multiple Files option in the Acrobat file menu.
    To create PDF files, create PostScript files and open them in Acrobat Distiller 7.0 to convert them to PDF. For instructions on creating PostScript files for use with Distiller, see document , "Install the AdobePS printer driver to create PostScript and printer files in Windows applications."
    This KB article has a link for 64-bit compatibility of Acrobat 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x respectively.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403291.html
    In a Windows 7 64-bit environment if Office 2010 applications are used and it is desired to use Acrobat's PDFMaker then Acrobat X is needed.

  • Why can't IOS users create PDF files anymore?

    WHy can I no longer create PDF documents from my IPad?  I used to be able to use this feature, now it is gone!  Why can't IOS users access this feature?

    Hi Timo,
    The Create PDF feature is part of Adobe PDF Pack (the paid subscription service) and is used to convert a non-PDF file format to PDF.
    I see that the "Getting Started" PDF document is opened in the screenshot above.  You cannot convert a PDF document to a PDF document.
    The error message is trying to tell you that you need to open the "supported format" (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF) then tap Create PDF to convert it to a PDF document.
    Please take a look at the following document about Adobe PDF Pack (which also includes Export PDF).
    Adobe PDF Pack verwenden
    Do you actually want to covert a document to PDF using Create PDF?   If not, please let us know what you are trying to do so that we can assist you.  Thank you.
