The cube should be use ggregate?

I used a sap delivery cube and it had two hundred million record,so run the query is very
slowly,what should i do?
I thought use aggregate may be the best method to solve this problem.but i 'm not sure!

Automate the Cube loading process using script

I have created the Essbase cube using Hyperion Essbase Studio 11.1.1 and my data source is Oracle.
How can I automate the data loading process into the Essbase cubes using .bat scripts?
I am very new to Essbase. Can anyone help me on this in detail?

You could automate the dimension building and dataloading using Esscmd/ Maxl scripts and then call them via .bat scripts.
Various threads available related to this post. Anyways, you could follow the following steps.
For any script provide the login credentials and select the database.
LOGIN server username password ;
SELECT Applic_name DB_name;
To build dimension:
BUILDDIM location rulobjName dataLoc sourceName fileType errorLog
Eg: BUILDDIM 2 rulfile 4 username password 4 err_file;
For Dataload
IMPORT numeric dataFile fileType y/n ruleLoc rulobjName y/n [ErrorFile]
Eg: IMPORT 4 username password 2 "rulfile_name" "Y";

I designed very simple test cube with one dimension (both MOLAP driven).
The dimension PRODUCT consists of three levels:
- Group
- Category
- Product_detail
PRODUCT_SRC table to load PRODUCT dimension:

I created the dimension PRODUCT and a mapping which loaded the data into the dimension. It worked perfectly. The hierarchy was created as I expected.
Then I created cube SALES and a mapping which should load the data into the cube. It is very very simple mapping - there were just only two items on the canvas:
- SALES_SRC table
and
- SALES cube
and two lines:
- from SALES_SRC.VALUE to SALES.VALUE_OF_SALES
- from SALES_SRC.PROD_ID to SALES.PRODUCT_NAME
Then I deployed everything and ran mapping, which loaded cube. But in my opinion the cube was not populated in a proper way, because it was no aggregation performed at the lowest level of product hierarchy - there was only a value of the first occurence of certain product. I mean:
In SALES.SRC we have for instance:
VALUE PROD_ID ID
1236 1000000002 2
84 1000000002 9
For me the the value in the cube should be 1236 + 84 = 1320, but the value in the cube at PRODUCT_DETAIL_LEVEL for yoghurt_3 is only 1236 - first occurence of this product in SALES.SRC.
Why hasn't been the data aggregated at lowest level of PRODUCT dimension hierarchy - is it the way OWB does such things?
Should I manually aggregate the data before loading to cube (just to use Aggregator to aggregate the data at lowest level)? If yes - what about incremental loading of data to cube (the old value value is simply replaced by new one and not summed in the cube)
In data warehouse solutions of other vendors the cube in such situation is loaded as I expected here.
I really don't know what to do. I do really appreciate any help from you.

Question about what the content should be for a database standards document

Hi Experts,
I am working as development DBA in a J2EE project and have a task to create a database standards document. The document should be used as a reference by the developers when they submit requests for database changes - like adding or making changes to the database schemas (adding tables/modifying them etc.). I thought of what would be the right content for this type of standards document and I think that such a document should have the following as database standards:
1) Naming standards for the database objects.
This will include all database objects like tables, columns, primary keys, foreign keys, views, triggers, procedures etc.. For example a standard can be defined like: all primary keys should be named as PK_TABLENAME. All indexes should be named as <TABLE_NAME>_IDX01 etc.
2) Use of Oracle reserved words should be avoided in the schema object names.
3) The names should be descriptive so as to make their purpose self evident.
4) Wherever possible, tables should have primary keys.
5) Wherever possible columns should be defined NOT NULL -as it helps performance (Indexes on NULLABLE columns are not used by the optimizer).
6) When submitting request for a new table/tables, typical queries against these new tables should also be worked out and based on that indexes that will be needed for the new tables should be defined. In case this is not clear at the time of initial table creation, it should be clarified within 3 weeks (just a reasonable period to be mentioned here).
Is this fair enough content forthe standards document or does it miss some important aspects? Note that we do not have to cover in this document standards for database creation or RAC installation etc. It is a document of standards to be followed by developers as a reference when submitting database changes. I will be thankful for your review.
(Oracle version info: We are on Oracle 11.2.0.2 on Solaris 10.)

That isn't true - post a link that supports that statement.
Heap indexes do not INDEX null values but indexes on NULLABLE columns are most certainly used by the optimizer for use cases where your query is looking for non-null values.
Columns should be defined NOT NULL when your business requirement is that the column should ALWAYS have a value. You can, of course, adopt some standard default value (e.g. 'U' for unknown) and make an otherwise NULLABLE column NOT NULL so that each row WILL be indexed. That may only be useful if you want to be able to search for rows that have that value and those rows are in the minority.Then I must be wrong....I will modify the standard as:
5) Whenever the business requirement is such that the column will allways end up having a value , then all such columns should be defined as NOT NULL. Also if a column can be defined to have a default value then this default value should also be specified.

Look up two ODS and load data to the cube

I am trying to load data to the Billing Item Cube.The cube contains some fileds which are loaded from the Billing Item ODS which is loaded from 2LIS_13_VDITM directly from the datasource, and there are some fields which needs to be looked up in the Service Order ODS and some fields in the Service Orders Operations ODS.I have written a Start Routine in the Cube update rules.Using the select statement from both the ODS i am fetching the required fields from the both ODS and i am loading them to the internal tables and in the Update rules i am writing the Update routine for the fields using Read statement.
I am getting an error when it is reading the second select statement(from second ODS).
The error message is
You wanted to add an entry to table
"\PROGRAM=GPAZ1GI2DIUZLBD1DKBSTKG94I3\DATA=V_ZCSOD0100[]", which you declared
with a UNIQUE KEY. However, there was already an entry with the
same key.
The error message says that there is an Unique Key in the select statement which is already an entry.
Can any one please help me in providing the solution for this requirement.I would appreciate your help if any one can send me the code if they have written.

Query on BCS virtual cube is not using the aggregates on BCS basic cube

I have BCS Virtual cube which is linked to BCS Basic cube. I built aggregates on BCS Basic cube.
I created simple query on BCS basic cube and ran in debug mode of rsrt, it showed the aggregates on bcs basic cube. But when I created the same query on BCS vitual cube and ran it rsrt debug mode the query did not show any aggregates, that was strange.
So My questions is whether query built on virtual bcs can utilize the aggregates built BCS basic cube, if possible please let me knows the tweaks.

1. Goto se37. Enter RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ and choose Display.
2. In line 82 (in a BW 3.5) there is a line that says:
CLEAR: e_t_data, e_end_of_data, e_aggregate, e_split_occurred.
Put the cursor in there and press the 'stop shield' or use CtrlShiftF12.
3. In the same mode open transaction RSRT and choose your query. Execute it. If you stop at the breakpoint, enter I_TH_SFC into one of the fields in the lower left area and press Enter. You should see a table with the characteristics you need in the system.
As I said I'm not quite sure if it works. I have access to a BCS system on monday. I'll try then to find out more.

When creating a new DPS, should I use the sizes offered by InDesign or the display size of the device? I ran into this question when I was looking up the sizes of different devices and found that iPhone 5s, iPhone5c, and iPhone4s sizes differ than the defauly dimensions offered by InDesign.
Also, should I worry about the ppi resolution? With iPhone, they all seem to be 326ppi but when dealing with other devices is this something that I should take into consideration? Ideally, I could be creating DPS apps for all devices offered in the Digital Publishing drop down in InDesign (iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire/Nook, and Android).

Using 1024x768 and creating PDF articles will get you OK with both iPad resolutions, and, as Bob L. says, quite decent "one size fits all" result for all other devices.
