The function to combine pdf files and the function to add bookmarks stopped working in 10.x

We had VBA scripts in Access 2003 running with Acrobat 7.0 standard version to combine pdf files and to add bookmarks. The scripts worked fine. Now we installed 10.x and the functions stopped working. Does anyone share the same experience?
In the scripts, we just call the OLE object with the code like:
Set acroOrigPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Set acroNewPdfDoc = CreateObject("AcroExch.PDDoc")
Then we have the call "acroOrigPdfDoc.InsertPages" and "acroOrigPdfDoc.Save" to save the combined pdf files. All these functions work fine under 7.x. Under 10.x, they stopped working without any error messages.
Can anyone help me?

Don't think so. If it is it would be in the metadata for the PDF -- ctrl D and select the left most tab. There should be a button for additional data if you want to explore.

What email client? What version of Reader (I can only assume you even have Reader at this point)?
Please wait? I'm sure it says more than that, right?
Have you tried simply saving the PDF (it IS a PDF correct?) to your desktop and opening it from there?
Did you get this form from the IRS or did it come from somewhere else? If the IRS again, what version of Reader?

To retrieve the PRT document (a PDF file) and insert the doc in PM order

Hello guys,
I have a challenging task in from printing as follows,
By using TC: IW3D we get print preview of PM Order Set (PM Print Program: YIPRJT01), currently the PRT document number prints in the PM Order. Now we have to insert the PRT documents (a PDF file) into the PM Order set rather than printing the PRT document number ( By using TC: IW33 by going OPERTIONAL TAB we will get the PRT document(a PDF file))
The requirement is to retrieve the PRT document (a PDF file) and insert the document in PM order set with out navigating separately by using the TC: IW33.
If you run the script in the print preview we can able to see PM the order set along with the PRT document (a PDF file).

I'm also trying to print PRT document with shop papers and still not able to do so. I selected "P" for print on the control key and it should print but still didn't print.
If I understand it right, I think you are trying to do the same.

Saving a file pdf file and the file name appears on a PC with + signs in the name of the file - How do I eliminate the file name coming up with the + signs?

A pdf file is created from a word document and then posted to our dealer portal. It allows the dealer to open the pdf file and then either print and/or save off to a hard drive. The issue is the file name has + signs in between all the words. Is there a way to eliminate the file names coming up with the plus signs? It is not being saved that way. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Use a proper file name for the WORD document. MS decided several years ago to allow spaces, but that is not standard and is likely what the issue is. A good alternative is to replace spaces in file names with underbars, "_".

Why do the characters in the field of a form disappear when I attach the form to another PDF file and then save the resulting pdf?

This just started happening and it does not happen every time I do this action. I occasionally get the following message "An incorrect structure was found in the PDF file" and that seems to be part of the issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I found out that if I waited about 15 minutes the PDF file became normal. Thank heavens! I've now sent out my newsletter for my Quilt Club to our 90 e-mail subscribers and all of them I have heard from have gotten it the way I had written it. It must just have been a quirk that happened, but I sure am glad it fixed itself. I only have 5 more newsletters to write and then I am done. Thank Heaven. Thank you for trying to help. I was about to become even more crazed than I get when I have to publish the newsletter. I do it once a month and I never would have volunteered for the 2 year job if I had know how much work it is. My husband walks gently when he knows I am trying to put the newsletter together. I'm not usually crabby, but this has made me a nut case once a month. It's a good thing we've been married for 37 years, so he knows that it is only the "newsletter editor nutty lady" that is getting mad at everything and everyone, including him! Can you link URLs within pages when publishing a magazine using PDF file and the script create_indd.jsx?

So I just checked. All that script does is place PDFs into InDesign files. InDesign treats PDFs as static artwork so my answer stands.
You’ll have to open the individual InDesign files and add the hyperlinks.

How to Print The Entire Course as PDF file from "The Sun Learning CD-ROM"

Is anyone able to print entire course as PDF file? I'm currently learning Solaris 10 OS and trying to print the full course/module on CDS-200-S10: Intermediate System Administration for Solaris 10 Operating System CD but unsuccessful.

I want to edit the application associated with pdf files, but the pdf file type is not available on the Applications tab under edit preferences. How do I add file types?

Thanks jscher2000, I tried your suggestion, but no joy (as expected). None of the extensions were .bin, and in fact, I can't find a single listing for handling the .bin extension in the entire (unfiltered) list.
That's why I'm so confused. Where is Firefox getting the name "VLC.bin (default)" from in the first place?

I don't have an entry for "browser.download.pluginOverrideTypes" and the entry "plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types" was empty (default setting).
My bad, but I forgot to mention in my first post that I had also tried renaming the mimetypes.rdf file in my "Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxx.default\" to .old to no avail.
Firefox created a new, almost empty file, but it didn't change the behavior for .bin files. I removed the new file and put the old file back in place after determining that clearing the file did not help, since I am otherwise happy with my current file-type options.
However, since the option to "Always perform this action" is grayed-out, I am looking into the possibility that the website is sending a misconfigured MIME type or is assigning "Content-Disposition: attachment" to the download. What's odd, though, is that I've never had problems getting binary files from the site in the past, and the problem started when the VLC player was installed.
I'll post back after I check into the server header data.

IE allows the placing of links in files and the desktop. Does Firefox also allow that?

I like Firefox but don't want it to be my default browser. When I'm at a web page using Internet Explorer, I frequently create a link to that page and save it on my desktop or in a file on my hard drive. When selected, such a link automatically opens IE before going to the web page. In order to use bookmarks, I must first open Firefox. Can I somehow place links (bookmarks) on my desktop when I use Firefox?

You can drag the site identity button to the desktop and it creates a shortcut for you. You can also drag a bookmark to the desktop and it will create a shortcut.
If you set Firefox as your default browser all your current links will open automatically in Firefox.

Out of habit, I tend to combine PDF files in the Page Thumbnails pane by right-click then "Insert Pages" -> "From File". For me, this preserves the tags from both documents, although the tags may have to be moved into the right location (if I recall correctly the tags for the inserted pages get put at the end of the tag structure, regardless of where the pages are inserted), If I first put the tags for the document to be inserted inside a container tag like Section, it makes the process easier. Moving that set of tags to the right place is the only re-fixing that I recall having to do. What behavior are you experiencing?

Genrating Report as PDF File on the hard disk

I am using Oracle developer 10g, I need when I call the report from the forms to generate the report to a PDF file on the c:\ drive instead of appearing on the screen.
I set the DESFORMAT to PDF, DESTYPE set to FILE and DESNAME set to C:\filename.pdf.

When using DESTYPE=FILE , the output will be generated on the machine where the Reports Server is running .
If you want to generate the PDF file on the "Client PC" (the PC where the Forms Applet is running), you will have to transfer the PDF from the
"Application Server machine" to the "Client PC"
