The Great Unsolved Button Enigma

OK, I've been searching the forums for the last hour, and
this particular problem has been reported at least 5 separate times
over the last several months, and NO ONE has offered a real
solution to it. So here's a challenge to all you superstar Flash
gurus out there:
If you click a button repeatedly without moving the mouse, it
stops working after the first click. That is, if you keep the mouse
stationary, the button just "goes numb" after the first click, and
you have to jog the mouse to get it to reactivate.
This is a really tough one to fix because it doesn't always
happen reliably - you see it more often when a movie is deployed on
the web than when testing locally. (Some of the posts have
suggested that it only happens when a button is embedded in a
movieclip, but I haven't been able to confirm that theory). My
coworkers and I have tried a bunch of solutions: from
updateAfterEvent() to hiding/showing the mouse, and nothing seems
to work. I'm beginning to think it's a problem with the Flash
internals, but it would be great if anyone's found a real solution
or workaround for this.
LOTS of people have encountered this same problem...let's get
a solution up there this time!!! I know we can do it!!

I can confirm having seen this on occasion. If memory serves
me right
(and it may not) this is something of a legacy issue.

Agreed, and I don't remember what circumstances caused the

Are you using on() or onClipEvent()? Have you tried
substituting a
movie clip for a button? What version of the Flash Player are
you
publishing to? Are you on Mac or Windows (what version of
either)? What
version of the Flash IDE are you using?

Possible; and if that's so, make sure to send a sample file
to Adobe for
investigation. I know the problem isn't easy to reproduce,
but if you have
a ready specimin, send it! :)

It is still there. Maybe it says apply now, not sure, but it is still there.

Help! My photos won't stream to the cloud and share with other devices. ( I've had the photo stream button on all the time I've had the phone.) The only way I can do it is by manually adding them to photo stream and this is very slow/ misses photos..

I'm very frustrated. I need to delete photos from my iphone to increase the storage so I can update the operating system. Since first using the phone I bought extra iCloud storage and ensured the photo streaming button for the iCloud was turned on.
Unfortunately it seems to have a mind of its own and will download and share some photos but the majority have not been downloaded.
I've resorted to manually putting them on photo stream (the one you share with friends) so the photos will be on my iPad. It also takes ages for my iphone to put them on the photo stream. It's downloaded one album x3 ..??!!? I've tried deleting the duplicated photos but it's now frozen on me....
I haven't dared delete the photos from my camera roll in case I loose them all and I'm therefore stuck in the situation of being unable to download the new operating system or take anymore photos/download music/apps. It *****!
Please Help!
Are there any other options for me to be able to download my photos when I don't have a computer/laptop? Is there a permanent online storage option I can use?

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

I am trying to reapply for the FAFSA online for school but when I click the "start now" button it takes me to a page which says I have an incompatible browser and need to update my Firefox.

I have the latest version and I tried updating anyways, but it still won't let me access the page to fill it out. This is what it says "An Incompatible Browser Has Been Detected Your Web browser is not supported by our Web site. You must use a Compliant Web Browser - Standard* to view our site properly. When I click on the "import all" button when downloading my photos I get a message that states that the format is unrecognizable. What caused this and how do I change it so I can import my photos?

I am trying to download photos from my digital camera. I have done this many times before with this same camera; however this time when I click the "import all" button I get a message that states that the format is unrecognizable. It doesn't specify what the format is.
What is causing this and how do I correct it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Make a temporary, backup copy of the library and try the following:
launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
select the options identified in the screenshot.
Click to view full size
Launch iPhoto and try importing again.

The volume increase button is stuck on my iPod nano (6th Generation) and I can't turn the volume up. Is there a way to fix it?

I have the iPod nano 6th generation, and I have had it since Christmas 2011 so it isn't that old; recently I went to listen to my music and found that the volume increase button is stuck (basically it's like when you press the volume button down to increase the volume, except it is stuck down like that and won't come back up) but it was only stuck about 3/4 of the way down. For about a week this was ok, I just had to press the button harder to make it go down and increase the volume, but now it won't increase the volume at all and it feels and looks as though the button is stuck the whole way in, even when I press the button with some force. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix it or if I need to take it to an apple store for them to fix it?!
Sorry if the way I have explained the problem is confusing, it's difficult to explain but it's extremely frustrating.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Instead of taking it to the Apple store and paying $ the 99 service charge ( I did give Apple 139.00 13 months ago! for this ipod), I saturated the end of a q-tip w/ WD 40 and carfefully rubbed around the perimeter of the power button. I waited a half hour and then cleaned of the excess WD 40. This unstuck my power button. I guess the WD 40 dissovled all the dirt under and around (also the consrtuction of the buttons is done w/ double sided tape-- maybe a design issue) the button. A friend tried isopropyl alcohol w/ great results. Try this before you give Appple any more $$ or get a new ipod. It's been 6 wks. and my button functions perfectly,

I'm trying to add my Linux netbook to my sync account but both my windows computers will not show the "Add Device" button in any of the sync management screens

I'm trying a new Linux build on a net book that I use for playing with non windows OS. In the process of setting up the fresh OS install I wanted in get my Firefox account set up to that I didn't have to spend lots of time working on that one thing. I'm no stranger to the browser sync and have attached several of my computers and tablets with a number of different OS to the account with little trouble including the Firefox of the previous Linux build that was on the net book. The problem now is that on both of my to main computers, a windows 7 desktop and a windows 8.1 tablet, both running the latest Firefox, I am unable to find the "add device" button in any of the sync management screens. This includes the browsers built in options screen as well as the Firefox manage account page. The first gives me options for disconnecting the account, going to the manage screen, several check boxes for what can be synced, and the device name. The manage screen, after logging in, only give me options for signing out, changing password, and deleting the account. Any help figuring out why the add device button seem to be missing from both these devices would be greatly appreciated.

Please check your Firefox Installation's version. (can be found by clicking the main menu, either clicking or hovering over the help button, and then clicking about firefox in the sub menu). depending on how long ago you set up sync you may still be using the older sync version. firefox 29 introduced a new (and might i add far less tedious) sync version. see [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync|this Mozilla support article]] for information on upgrading your sync to the new version.

Want to De-activate the SERVICE radio button while creating a SC

My requirement is while a user create a SC and click on 'Describe Requirement' then the SERVICE radio button will deactivate.
I'm using BADI BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI and method BBP_SC_UI_CTRL, but it is not working....

Where does the "Submit Form" button get created and how can I change the associated email address?

I've created a pdf form using Adobe Live Cycle ES 8.2 and it has been working fine. Now I need to change the email address it gets sent to when the user clicks on the "Submit Form" button.
How can I change this email address?

Yes, that is correct.
I did not manually add this button, so I am assuming it was somehow automatically created.
It worked great up until now that I need to change the "To:" email address.
I've look through the XML code associated this this email address and changed it every where I could find it, but it still hasn't changed my results. So, I have no idea how to change this and as stated above, if I create a new form it automatically sets it up to be sent to the wrong email address. Not sure why or how to change it?

What happened to the back/previous history button? (next to the back/forward buttons)

Hi, just upgraded from firefox 3.6 to 4.
The main problem I have with this version which will make me go back to 3.6 if I can't solve it, is that in this version (4) there is no back history to click on next to the navigational back and forward buttons. I'm not talking about the history menu from the menu bar. I'm talking about the pathway I took to get to the page I'm on, which will be different for every tab that I have open. Sometimes if I've just gone through ebay or paypal checkouts or sent/posted questions on forums etc, I will not be able to just repeatedly press 'back' as it may resend twice, or force me to resend data to re-enter that page, even though I didn't want that page, I wanted the page that was 5 steps back prior. You know what I mean? It used to be great to use that on 3.6 to navigate around and jump about back and fore 8 or 9 pages at a time. The history button in the menu bar doesn't help me, it just tells me the last few pages I've been to overall, and not specific to that tab.
Also, how can I customise the navigation bar? I want an icon for the refresh button back like the one in 3.6 (big, prominent, and moveable). Same for the home button, it's now stuck at the far side (I used to customise all these buttons to be as together or as central as I could).

The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4.

Can't click the browse file button

When I click the Browse file button to upload a photo or a pdf from my computer, the dialog window does not show up at.Why does this happen, how can I fix it.

Could you "name names" on your host and/or the control panel it uses? That may help in searching for past threads about that particular software to either find a workaround or confirm that it is an unsolved problem.
Meanwhile, could you also check for error messages in Firefox's Browser Console? Here's how I suggest doing that:
(1) Open Firefox's browser console using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+j
* "3-bar" menu button > Developer > Browser Console
* (menu bar) Tools > Web Developer > Browser Console
(2) Click the Clear button to flush the existing messages
(3) Reload the page containing the upload button, then check for script or security error messages in the console
(4) Click the Upload button and select a file, then check for any new messages in the console
(5) If there is a final step to submit the file or start the upload process, trigger that and check for any new messages
You can select and copy (Ctrl+c) content from the console into a reply for comment by volunteers. However, you can ignore style warnings as those seldom will block functionality ("unclick" the CSS button at the top of the console to temporarily hide those messages).

PS2 and Qosmio G20 - using the monitor in button it just beeps

Could anybody please help? Hooked my ps2 up using the composite cable but when I press the monitor in button it just beeps and does nothing.
I know the jack is not broken as I can get a picture thru win DVR.

Thanks for the advice, I have found the picture enhancement in the toshiba utilities but there is no monitor in option, I just have picture tweaking bits and bobs. Thanks though. Anyone got any more ideas? cheers!

How do I remove the Submit Form button?

I am using Acrobat Pro 9 with LiveCycle. I have created an interactive form and did not include a button to e-mail the form. When the distributed form is opened, there is a purple bar across the top with instructions to click "Submit Form" and "Highlight Fields" and "Submit Form" buttons. I do not want this form e-mailed back to me. It just needs to be saved by the user and uploaded at a later time. Saving it after the user fills in the fields is not the issue. That is working fine. But the user may be confused by a button saying they should submit the form. Plus it is my e-mail address in the field and I don't want all these forms showing up in my e-mail box. This happens whether I choose to distribute it with "Automatically download..." or "Manually collect..."
Does anyone know what can be done to prevent the form from displaying the "Submit Form" button?
Also, one user did get get a warning when saving about that not being the optimal way to send the data. I believe it said to press submit form. I'm sorry, I was not relayed the exact warning, but it was something to that effect. It did, however, save correctly.

Pzaidel: YOU are a freakin genius. Great suggestion-worked perfectly! Here's how I did it with a form created in Indesign:
Do entire backgrnd layout in Indesign-convert to regular PDF.
Open New doc in LC-standard way-create all fields.
After completion when you open it in Adobe Acrobat, you will see the "Submit Form" at the top next to "Highlight existing fields".
Go back to your LiveCycle doc and:
Highlight and ctrl+c copy all fields onto clipboard. [I don't think there is an option to copy fields anywhere within LC]
Do as Pzaidel suggests above: create new LC form [you cannot avoid selecting interactive form....but didn't seem to matter].
Import your PDF layout from InDesign [or word].
THEN Paste all fields back into form.
TA DA! No submit button.
AND after importing and placing all fields, I even included a print button that works on the bottom of the form so anyone could see-it must be printed and cannot be submitted-at least by a button.

The 'Get Information' button in my printer driver dialog is grayed out. This happened when I upgraded my mac (and macbook). Can't find any help anywhere.

I recently upgraded both my imac and macbook pro to a new mac mini and macbook air. I have a networked (via airport extreme) canon ipf6100 printer that had been working great from my older computers (all running current mountain lion). The new computer's printer driver setups went well and the dialog says its online and ready. The problem is the 'Get Information' button in the 'Main' driver panel is grayed out. The driver cannot read the printer's configuration (i.e. roll or sheet paper) and therefore cannot print correctly. I have tried re-installing the driver (current one from Canon's website) and have tried connecting the printer to USB directly with the same result. I have not been able to find any help on this anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
