The iphone and itunes shows a short version of a voice memo instead of full. only by pushing edit i see the whole thing. how can i see and export the full thing?

I recorded a voice memo but in itunes and also in iphone i can see only a hort version of my record. if i push edit, it shows the whole thing. How can i export the whole thing and listhen to it ? It only plays the 3.5 minutes instead of 35 minutes...

this one is actually a really rare symptom of a flaky connection to the ipod on a Windows PC. there's more going on in terms of hardware on nanos and 5th gens than in the earlier models ... so if the connection is flaky to precisely the right/wrong degree, itunes will see the ipod, but misidentify it as an earlier version of ipod.
tracking down the cause of the flakiness can be tricky ... as you already know ...
just checking. have you tried connecting with a different (known-good) USB cable? does that seem to have any impact on the rate of occurence of the problem?

Sync iPhone 4S: how can I see what is 3.6 GB "miscellaneous"?

when syncing my iPhone 4S, iTunes tells me that there is used 4.6 GB "miscellaneous" (yellow) - I have no idea what that could be? how can I find out?

To help others:
I restored and re-established after BackUP : same problem! Now I had 4.2 GB "miscellaneous" !!!
So, I restored again and choose "set up as new iPhone" - now is was clean! And than manually made a choice of (the same) apps, music, video and photos...
Now I have 16 GB free!!!

You must not see this. You will see that capacity of the battery drops down and will be empty after short time. Nobody say that you will be able to use battery 400 cycles only. Maybe you will be lucky and the battery will have longer life time.
My Tecra M1 is about 4 years old and still working with original battery.

You've indicated that you've done a factory reset. Can you walk me through the steps you took to get there? Also, after the factory reset, how long before this message indicator appeared again? Was it before or after you restored all your personal data?

Those specifications are not for the "last" mac mini, but for the mid-2011 Mac Mini: Macmini5,2.

In the Music tab of iTunes, do you have 'Include Voice Memos' checked?

You need to update to 10.6.8 using Software Update.

What happened when you connected your iPhone to your computer while running iTunes on your computer? You should be prompted through the restore process. If it doesn't work try getting your iPhone into Recovery Mode.

Paul--you are a life-saver!! Worked great. I did have to look around to make sure I was getting 4.9 instead of 4.7 (even when the file was named 4.9 at techspot.com), but I finally got the right file, did the install as you suggested, and everything is now fine. One note, though, that I haven't seen mentioned in any of this thread: when I first tried to open up iTunes after getting back to 4.9, the following message appeared: "The file iTunes Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." I merely went to the old .itl file that was created when I did the update to iTunes 5, renamed it, moved it over to my now new 4.9, and iTunes opened fine. My library was a few days out of date, because of the few days' lag from the time I did the iTunes update, but that was easily taken care of, and everything's now working fine. Thanks again!!!

Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device.
