The Java startup framework must be updated - SAP JVM 4

Dear All,
While execution of switch from JDK to SAP JVM 4.1 on java instance we get the message "The Java startup framework must be updated in order to use SAP JVM 4"
Please help or guide for further steps
Regards,
Ajay

Hi Ajay,
Hope you are doing good.
If the issue persists, kindly update the kernel to the latest level as this will update the native libraries which the JVM needs. This is the next step in these kind of cases.
The below links will help you if there are any queries with the
kernel update procedure.
If you wish to do a Manual Kernel Upgrade:

    Hi All,
    I Found the Solution.
The SAPinst tool was somehow not able to extracte the
J2EEINSTALL.SAR files from the JAVA Components DVD.
So I manually extracted the the file in the temporary install folder which the SAPinst creates in the /tmp filesystem (on LINUX by deafult) during the installation process.
The following command is used (I used this on Red Hat LINUX 5.2) to extract the J2EEINSTALL.SAR file:-
    /sapmnt/SMD/exe/SAPCAR
    -xvf /dump/SR4_Java_Components/D51033521/DATA_UNITS/JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_J2EE_INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR
/sapmnt/SMD/exe/SAPCAR -->source directory of the file SAPCAR which is used to extarct CAR / SAR files on UNIX
/dump/SR4_Java_Components/D51033521/DATA_UNITS/JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_J2EE_INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR--> destination dir. where the SAPinst tool will read and execute the file.

    Hello,
Please check the JVM-settings as per note
1024539 (including the environment-variables and APARS).
For some reason the 'migmon.jar' - file can no longer
be found in your installation directory
It might be sufficient to copy the archive 'MIGMON.SAR' from your
    master-cd (subdirectory IM_AIX_PPC64/COMMON/INSTALL) to your
installation directory and extract the archive there by 'SAPCAR -xvf
    If the problem persists
apply the latest patch as per note

  • Is the Java Media Framework still supported by Sun or not ??

    Hello my name is Michael.
I have questions about the JFM, are there any person who can response it, please post it.
I don't know if the technology is up to date if there is no release or bug fix since 2003.
Please tell me something about the plan from Sun about the Java Media Framework.
Is there any substitute java framework to work with ??
Thank you for your benefit !!

    Doug,
Your iPod should work with no issues on 10.4.11 and iTunes 8+.
When the iPod "locks up" do you hear any clicking noises? Your symptoms sound like the hard drive is having hardware issues.
Here's a trick I used to use to fix the older iPods. It involves opening up the iPod, so if you don't feel comfortable, you might want to go to someone who does.
Take a blade from a box cutter and gently move it along where the plastic meets the metal on the iPod. Use the blade to pry open the iPod from the metal case for the back.
Once you get the iPod out, look towards the bottom of the iPod, and you should see the hard drive with a wide cable attached to it. Take that cable out of the hard drive (gently). Find a Bic pen cap (or something similar) and push it in between the two rows of pins on the cable. Try to make sure the pins are spread apart evenly and all pointing directly out. Once you get that in place, firmly push the cable back into the hard drive and gently put the iPod back together.
You may then want to restore just to be safe, and try loading your music again. I've used this trick on many old iPods to bring another couple of years of life into them. (sometimes this cable comes loose, causing the issues you're describing)

  • Replace the JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy files - SAP JVM 5

    Hi Experts,
I had a NetWeaver 7.1 system with SAP JVM 5. I tried to run a cryptography software on the system, but the current JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy files of the JVM limited encryption algorithms and key lengths.
I downloaded the jce_policy-1_5_0.zip file from the Sun website, unzipped it, replaced the old policy files (sapjvm_5/jre/lib/security/local_policy.jar and sapjvm_5/jre/lib/security/US_export_policy.jar) with the new ones, then restarted the server. But, after the server was restarted, the new policy files were deleted and the old ones were restored.
Could you tell me what should I do to apply the new policy files?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Harshit,
You mention "Unable to access the http://localhost:50100/irj and http://localhost:50100/nwa only http://localhost:50100 is working."
But did you tried  http://<HOST Name- FULL FQDN>:50100 ?
Check whether this is working alright if not then it is related to either firewall or some network config issue (e.g. DNS or IP resolution issue).

  • Codecs for the Java Media Framework now available

    Hi,
    Firstly, apologies for the "ad"...
The "jffmpeg" project at sourceforge (of which I am a developer) is now producing a codec pack for JMF. This consists of a selection of pure Java codecs, and a JNI wrapper onto the native FFMPEG codecs.
    See http://jffmpeg.sourceforge.net/ for details.
Please let me know if you find this useful.
    JonathanH

Thanks a lot for your answer...!!!!
I am not really a pro in codecs, and I think that it's the main problem. :p
I want to find a solution (I have to ! ), but it's very difficult for me..
For the mpeg2 Transport stream format : you've totally right !
In the mpeg2 TS format, the main difference with standard mpeg2 is that there is a structure "packet by packet", with a given packet length (188 bytes)... Each packet has an header which gives some information as you've said : transport error bit, synchronisation bit, etc... (and to be true, I have some difficulties understand really what each packet contains... I've understood the IPB principle, but this format is not very clear for me...)
How can I explain my program ? heu...
after extracting datas (I work in real time), at time t, I have in a byte array many 188 bytes blocks
(I store them in a big byte array in a Buffer)... What have I to do with it ? Now, my program reads each 188 bytes and when the time represented is > 100ms, I run the processor on it, and so the decoding process...
Is my error here ? how have I to do ? is it really a problem of size ?
I have transformed my program this morning so as to have datas incoming from a file (and not my peripherical) : so, now, in theory, I can read datas which are not mpeg2 ts. But I haven't made test yet...
But, I suppose that I am going to have the same problems that I have already faced :
if I try to take a large chunk of data, jmf generates an error (I supposed that it's because the videoformat definition doesn't correspond with what jmf is waiting for !):
    # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x0c307669, pid=2992, tid=2604
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_01-b08 mixed mode)
    # Problematic frame:
    # C [jmmpegv.dll+0x7669]
    # An error report file with more information is saved as hs_err_pid2992.log
    # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:
the famous error that we often see on this forum....!
And, if I take a little chunk, I have a ffmpeg error (I have understood now why... thanks to you)!
And so, in decoder output, null length datas... logical !
Maybe, I have an error in my program, but I really don't know where...
I have an other problem... I would like to know if it is normal :
I can't register (via jmregister) the NativeDecoder (but I can register NativeEncoder !)...
It's quite strange... I've tried on 2 differents computers, and I have the same error "can't add item"..
Why ? (windows xp - jmf 2.1.1e) jmf error or jffmpeg error or my error ?
I have posted here because I have no guarantee that the problem comes from jffmpeg... I am a jmf newbie...
The exception access violation error is quite surprising...
I know that the format I use is not standart, but ... !!
But, I am going to work again this afternoon, and then, I will post to jffmpeg development !
If my problem can be solved, or if I can prevent other people to have the same problem, I will do !
And if I found the solution to all my problems, I will post it ! :)

  • How to determine 640/J2EE Startup Framework Binary Patch Level?

    Hi All,
We are running BI ABAP with Java Add-in on WAS 640/SUSE/Oracle.
In the ABAP world, there are many options for determining the current kernel patch level.  Disp+work -v, SYSTEM->STATUS, etc..
How do I determine the patch level of the J2EE startup framework (ie: jlaunch, jcontrol, etc..)?  If I run these commands with '-version', I get a patch level of 0. From System Information, the Cluster Kernel Version is 6.40 PatchLevel 105424.313.
What I am trying to determine is if I have the binaries that map to the latest applied SP (18).  Do I need to download J2EERTOS18.SAR and apply the bits or has that already been done?  Or is the current patch level for the bits fro the J2EERTOS14.SAR file?  Etc...
    Any tips/suggestions?
    Thanks much,
    Greg

    Hi
    You can check the patch number like this;

While regarding which file(s) to apply, please notice that the files you are not talking like

  • Error running startup framework

    Hi,
We are running EP 6 Sp2 p4 hf 8 on hp-ux 11.11 operating system, and
We installed startup framework according to document "Installing and
Configuring the 6.40 Startup Framework to Use with SAP J2EE Engine 6.20
(Last update: 23.09.2004)", we installed patch PHCO_30544 for the os.
We used the latest version of SCSCLIENTEP.SAR.
The problem is that for a heap size more than 1G the startup framework
    doesn't work.
The following error is in the file ../os_libs/work/dev_server:
    [Thr 4] *** ERROR => JHVM_LoadJavaVM: Cannot create Java VM (rc=-1)

I doubt it is the heap size itself. Have you checked all your java startup params (flags). Having an improper flag, such as -XXNewSize=192 (missing a ":" between XX and NewSize) will give you such an error.

  • Error when building the Java pricing userexit manual code

I went throught the manual for the pricing userexit manual... it tells you to ignore the errors when you do an ant build but I want to remove all the errors since they dont let the rest the code compile.... where are the jars for these errors:
[javadoc] C:\DEV\PRC_UE_CUSTOMER\lib_src\src\com\sap\spc\document\DocumentConstants.java:16: package com.sap.vmc.logging does not exist

Use ZIP file the attached to the above note - PRC_UE_CUSTOMER_V105.zip
ZIP file contains an Eclipse .project file that has the required build path. If you read the documents carefully, it does refer this project file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

         <classpathentry sourcepath="lib_src/src" kind="lib" path="lib_api"/>

         <classpathentry kind="output" path="bin"/>
    </classpath>
Again read the documents thoroughly. They are neither fictions nor non-fictions, but technical documents written with care. So, we must also read them with care. If we don't follow them, then it is time to engage someone who does. )
BTW, coming back to the Java basics - One must have a class and source files to debug. You won't get a class file unless it is compiled. The Java file won't compile correctly if it has syntax / reference errors. Unfortunately or fortunately, all these apply to the IPC java userexit development as well.

  • Java Media Framework fails on Windows 7

I wrote a Java program to manage and play my MP3 files. This program works fine on Windows XT and Windows Vista but does not work on the new laptop I just purchased with Windows 7. The Java Media Framework cannot play my MP3 files running on Windows 7. Does anyone know of a fix? I saw some very old forum posts where the poster asked if anyone knew how to obtain the source code for the Java Media Framework. If I could get my hands on the source, I would debug the problem and provide the fix to the Java community. So does anyone know of a fix to Windows 7 problems or know how to get the Java Media Framework source code????

I believe you are right. I didn't know how much native support the JMF code requires but that must be the problem because it doesn't work on Windows 7. I think I would get some other error if the native libraries needed by JMF were not available on Windows 7. Appears that the native code is invoked but fails for some reason resulting in the JMF ControllerEventError that I get when attempting to play my MP3 files. I always had an error on a very few MP3 files that I have downloaded using LimeWire but the songs were playable by Windows Media. So whatever native support JMF uses, it is not the same as Windows Media or JMF is just not using the native MP3 support correctly. I guess I will just have to keep my Music Library on one of my older computers and not use my Java program on Windows 7 to play my MP3 files. Do you have any idea if the programmers who wrote the JMF code are still maintaining it? Perhaps they would be interested in fixing the Windows 7 problem in a new release??

    This is on a Mac
I used the "Plugin check" to make sure all the plug-ins were up to date.
