The MSDTC transaction manager failing : It was unable to pull the transaction from the source transaction manager due to communication problems
Microsoft Tech Gurus,
Can you please assist on this issue. ? There are 3 different errors stacks for this issue - Our Application is not connecting with MS SQL Server. Everything was fine until Monday. There are changes have done on those Apps and DB servers.
Please refer the attached document - which has all the errors with details. Appreciate all your support.!
Error 1 :
TISAppenderLog4net.Log4NetException: The underlying provider failed on Open. ---> System.Data.EntityException: The underlying provider failed on Open. ---> System.Transactions.TransactionManagerCommunicationException:
Communication with the underlying transaction manager has failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: The MSDTC transaction manager was unable to pull the transaction from the source transaction manager due to communication problems. Possible
causes are: a firewall is present and it doesn't have an exception for the MSDTC process, the two machines cannot find each other by their NetBIOS names, or the support for network transactions is not enabled for one of the two transaction managers. (Exception
from HRESULT: 0x8004D02B)
Error 2 :
TISAppenderLog4net.Log4NetException: Installation of the application [TestApp] failed ---> TiS.Core.TisCommon.TisException: Installation of the application [TestApp] failed
Error 3 :
TISAppenderLog4net.Log4NetException: Cannot open database "TestApp_Workflow" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'eflow_user'. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open database "TestApp_Workflow" requested by the login. The login failed.
Login failed for user 'eflow_user' at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection, Action`1

Error 1:-
http://blogashwani.blogspot.in/2013/05/dtc-issue-can-not-find-each-other-by.html
It seemed like a case when (sometimes) machines were not able to locate each other.
The solution was simple (as suggested on forums available on the internet)- make identification easier :).
Either access the machines using IP instead of their names or make a mapping entry in the "hosts" file located at "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc".
We took the "hosts" file approach and there were no errors once we made the changes.
Error 3 :
Try login from mssql using that account check it verifed
Distributed Transaction Coordinator restart and check.

So I just got a message from Apple saying
"Your Apple ID was just used to download Podcasts from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID"
I am new to Apple products and signed up to the app store about an hour before but have not downloaded any apps yet.
I also turned on iCloud Drive.
Neither of these are Podcasts and I do not have any Podcasts on my device.
The message is a really poor warning, it could for instance list the IP address which would immediately tell me if it was me.
It could list what type of device it was.
It could list what Podcast was downloaded.
But no, just some random message, probably generated by the really bad default iPhone settings that put ease of use before security.
I have a long complex password that I do not want ot have to change just because Apple generates a stupid message.
On Google you have a log of all logins and devices, is there something similar with Apple, so I can figure this out?Kroll17 wrote:
I don't know, I thought it was pretty clear
"was just used to download Podcasts from the App Store"
it said it was used to download a Podcast from the App Store
I have not down downloaded any podcasts and there are no podcasts in the podcasts app, of course if Apple were to list the podcast that was downloaded, the IP address and the device it might help one dismiss the message.
I am running the latest v8.1.1 although how the version of my OS related to a message generated by Apple servers is beyond me, unless my device is not authenticating properly so Apple thinks I am someone else but then as I have not downloaded any Podcasts that would not seem to be the issue.
It does NOT say you downloaded a podcast. First, podcasts are not downloaded from the App Store; they are downloaded from the iTunes store.
It's very clear to me; the app named "Podcasts" was downloaded, not a podcast. "Podcasts" is a app provided by Apple for managing and downloading podcasts. -
Help! "iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services."
Help! what to do? When you connect iphone, the program writes this message "iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services."
It could be possible the service is disables. Go into control panel of your pc, into administrative services, then click in services. There you will see a list of services. Find the apple and itunes services. See if they say disabled. If they do, right click on it, then another dialogue pops up. It will stay stopped. Scroll in there and put automatic. Then hit apply. Then click on start. It will then apply the service and you should be able to connect your ipod.
Have you registered this other ipod for iTunes on your pc? -
Hi, We recently started getting these errors a couple times a day. There are 12 of them in total. We also have exactly 12 subscriptions. Does this indicate some db issue causing all of these
to fail?
Alert subscription data source module encountered errors while running: Alert subscription data source module was unable to find alerts that match the subscription because of database errors.

We have been seeing this error in the Operations Manager Event Log for quite a while.
Alert subscription data source module was unable to find alerts that match the subscription because of database errors.
The following error(s) were encountered:
Exception Message: ExecuteScalar requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed.
One or more workflows were affected by this.
Workflow name: MMEA_1348391424
Instance name: aaa.bbb.com

Management group: SCOMr2
I haven't been able to spot any network outage on the management servers, or the database servers to indicate a problem. It usually happens at night, and when I look at the health explorer, the entity is healthy.
Please would someone help me in finding the root cause of this issue and what can be done to avoid it.
There were no backups running when this alert was generated. As far as I'm aware, everything was idle.
I would appreciate any help.
KaranException Message: ExecuteScalar requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed.
Based on the Error it seems the below for me
1. Either SCOM is unable to connect to the operationsmanager / operationsmanagerDW for its transactions on subscriptions
2. Or the SMTP server which your SCOM is using to relay emails has closed the connection.
So my suggestion would be you check the above for issues.
Gautam.75801
There were no network hiccups that I can see. Minimal disk activity. I've looked for any signs of database load, and haven't seen anything that jumps out.
Emails were going through just fine. These alerts get emailed to me, and if the SMTP server is 'closed' SCOM is usually quite sensitive and alerts about that too. I've seen it.

Hello all,
We migrated our Exchange server from 2003 to 2010. After the mailbox move requests were finished we had one that was stuck. We basically skipped it as we had a lot of other things to finish over the weekend. Here we are a year later, the old exchange server
is gone and so is an old DC. I am receiving an error every four minutes in event viewer.
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.
Request GUID: '3e46b7cb-2ac0-42c1-98e8-57517a19ee40'
Database GUID: '5c6c573b-4f45-4ce3-b296-11cf69c2e2b6'
Error: Unable to find 'OLD Domain Controller' computer information in domain controller 'OLD Domain Controller' to perform the suitability check. Verify the fully qualified domain name..
I have checked in EMC for move requests. None are listed. I have checked the DCs listed in EMC properties. Old DC is not listed.
I also ran these commands in shell to attempt to cancel the stuck request.
Get-MoveRequest -MoveStatus Completed;Pending;InProgress;Failed;CompletedWithWarning;Suspended;Queued;CompletionWithProgress : Remove-MoveRequest
NO changes. Still throwing error. Any suggestions? I also tried using the guid and shell to look at the move request. Systems replies no such request.Hello,
Please try to restart iis services to check the result.
If the issue persists, I recommend you ping you DC server on your exchange server to check if your exchange server can communicate with your DC server.
If there are other DCs, please try to use set-adserversettings cmdlet to specify a DC for your exchange server.
Set-AdServerSettings

Besides, please install the lasted rollup to check the result.

Hi All,
I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:
Errors in the back-end database access module. OLE DB was unable to convert a value to the data type requested for column 5.
My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

SVI just counted the columns from the top:
1) compliancejoin, 2) mowingsector, 3) caseclosedflag, 4) casehasvendorinfo, 5) mowingstatus, 6) assignedtovendor.
I see now that your subject line talks about column 6, but you say column 5 in body of your original post.
I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.
Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, [email protected] -
Hi All,
I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks.

#thanks for your prompt response.
I am aware of that we can't use any free spaces where the VM is installed.Hence the additional storage added to the server.
1. Install VM Server on 80GB HD ( /dev/sdb)
2. Later, i added 500GB to the storage ( no installation - just the disk ) ( /dev/sda)
Same configuration worked fine in 3.0, now i am not able to identified the additional disk which was added later with 3.2.1. -

what can I do ?Hi,
Are you facing the same problem when starting with a new subscriber database?
From the error message suggested that replication metadata may be corrupt. I suggest you drop and re-create the subscription.
Then click on synchronization status and run the snapshot agent. It hard to tell the cause unless we check Merge Agent error log.
Regarding the Unreadable Characters,
change system locale to Chinese if current system locale is English and test the issue. A computer restart is required to make the change effective.
Thanks.

Hello,
We have a multi domain parent child AD domain infrastructure and now we upgraded our exchange from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Since last few days, we see the below error on the mailbox server event viewer.
EVENT ID : 1121
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.
Request GUID: '93a7d1ca-68a1-4cd9-9edb-a4ce2f7bb4cd'
Database GUID: '83d028ec-439d-4904-a0e4-1d3bc0f58809'
Error: An Active Directory Constraint Violation error occurred on <domain controller FQDN>. Additional information: The name reference is invalid.
This may be caused by replication latency between Active Directory domain controllers.
Active directory response: 000020B5: AtrErr: DSID-0315286E, #1:
Our Exchange setup is in parent domain, but we keep on getting this error for various domain controllers in each child domain in the same site. We then configured one of the parent domain domain controller on Exchange. Still we are getting this error for
the configured parent domain DC.
Verified the AD replication and there is no latency or pending stuffs.
Any support to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Jnana R DashHi,
In addition to Ed's suggestion, I would like to clarify the following things for troubleshooting:
1. Please restart IIS at first.
2. If the issue persists, please ping your DC on your Exchange server to check if Exchange can communicate with DC.
Hope it helps.
Best regards,
Amy Wang

Since demoting a child domain a few days ago, Exchange 2013 is still trying to contact it and as a result generating errors in the application event logs. I had a similar problem which I solved by removing some old migration batches, now I have a problem
with the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service.
The event logged is:
The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.

The domain doesn't exist in AD Sites and Services, I have removed all traces from DNS but this is still occurring. When I run Get-ADServerSettings | fl it reports no trace of the domain or a DC that was previously in it.
How can I stop these events occurring and is it likely to be causing something else not to work correctly.
We are running Exchange 2013 CU1No, that didn't work. Here are more details:

Do not seem to be able to backup iPad via iTunes on to my PC.
Message after connecting is "iTunes was unable to load class information from Sync Services, Reconnect or try later"
Have tried that but get the same result.
Remedies I've tried are:
wait and try again
reboot
reload iTunes
NB hp is a relatively new machine and has previously backed up quite happily.
Can anyone assist?RHoodnkt-
Try rebooting the iPad. Hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. It takes a minute or two to restart.
Also be sure your iPad battery is not completely discharged.

When I attmpt to synch my Iphone I get the following error message. "Itunes was unable to load data class informationfrom synch services. Reconnect or try again later. This started after I uddated to the latest version of Itunes. What should I do?
My iPods are working fine...this is just on our iPhone 3GSs....friend said his iPhone 4 was working fine with upgrade.
Tried: the winsock reset, uninstall/re-install of iTunes, shut the firewall down. Even called Apple...and after 2 hours of being told that "I'm savvy and have done everything they'd recommend" still with no fix...
Still: Takes over 2 minutes (not hooked up to phone) to open Edit-Preferences-Device...and can't find any backups?!?! Takes over 2 minutes to even open the phone to change spps, musice, books, etc....but won't let me do anything with contacts...wonder if this is what that error message is about (because I don't actually sync to an email program, I've just kept it all on the phone - mistake).
