The New Itunes says I don't have permission to make changes. All I want to do is add stuff to my Itunes. What can I do?

The new Itunes says I don't have permission to make changes when all I want to do is add files to my itunes library.
What can I do?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Itunes says I don't have permission to download IOS7 following a failed attempt?  Help?!

The servers are getting slammed. Bunch of people trying to download at the same time.
Give it time, keep trying, should eventually work.

Where is your iPhoto Library located?
    Apply the fix below:
    Fix #1
Try to launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.

  • You don't have permission to make changes to that file.

I have recently reinstalled iWeb from a time machine backup due to the fact that I had to re install Leopard, I can get my old website to load but when I make changes I get the following message when I try to save it: +You don’t have permission to make changes to that file.+
I have set all the permissions to Read & Write for all the users but it still will not work, any ideas please.
I have also done repair permissions etc

I'm having the same problems. I can't find the iWeb.plist file anywhere. I deleted the iLife.plist file in case it was there, but I still can't edit my website. This website was made on my computer, but under a different login name. I copied the file to another login name and that's where I'm trying to publish my website from. It keeps telling me that I don't have permission to edit. Anymore thoughts. Thanks anyone.

  • SAVE  FAILED. You don't have permission to make changes on that file.

I have copied the domain file from one machine to edit the website from another machine. The editing job can be done without hassle. When I try to publish the we site from the machine where I have imported the domain file appear the message:
SAVE FAILED. You don't have permission to make changes on that file.
    What's wrong ??
After 2 minutes appears another window: Your domain has been published...

And how did you copy it over?
Depending on how the file was brought over, it may still have permissions set from the prior volume (I had this problem with iPhoto libraries). It's able to create the web content from the live document, but unable to save the changes to the domain.sites file.
You can try running "repair permissions" with Disk Utility in your Utilities folder to see if that helps.

  • Iphoto is locked and I don't have permission to make changes?

I try opening iphoto and get the message "The iphoto library is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission to make changes."
How is this? I didn't do anything to lock it and I don't know how to unlock it?

  • Running 3.6.13 on MAC OS 10.6.7. Firefox wants to install updates but updater never connects. It's in eternal "connecting to server" mode. Now I get a message that says I don't have permission to make updates on this computer, I'm the only user. Ideas?

    Not sure what to do....

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have other problems with updating to update then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded

  • Itunes says I don't have permission to use it

Got that error this morning. I did a verify and repair of permissions and then it worked. But how did that happen? It only showed 5 songs and normally has about 20,000 or more. And also said I didn't have permission for itunes.
    Jason

    Repair permissions using Disk Utility.
Using iTunes prefs - check to see that the path is correct so iTunes can 'see' you tunes.
Also check to see with 'Get Info' that you have access privileges for the files via the FInder.

  • HT201210 When updating my ipad 2 to ios 7 is says I don't have permission to update?

My Ipad is having trouble updating to ios 7. Itunes says I don't have permission to do this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    What's the exact error message?

  • çnow won't sync back to my iPad because it says I don't have permission on this computer. I don't want to download it from iTunes again because it took up a lot of bandwidth. What's the deal

I bourght "E O Wilson's Life on Earth" and backed it up to my iMac. Now it won't sync back to my iPad because it says I don't have permission on this computer. I don't want to download it from iTunes again because it took up a lot of bandwidth. What's the deal?
I also made the big mistake of downloading a free book about the making of the movie "Frankenweenie." Mega-memory eater. Now it wants to download additions and started to do so---now says paused. I can't delete the bloody thing. Seems like nothing I've downloaded, including free books, can be deleted. How can I get rid of this garbage?
Is there any way to just transfer my music from my iMac to my iPad and not affect anything else on my iPad? The whole iBooks thing is just a mess as far as I'm concerned. Is there any way to just drag and drop?

"I have logged in to my itunes account on a different computer and none of my purchased music is showing up."
Correct.  it does not magially appear in other places.  It will only be where you put it.
"I also have plugged my iphone in to get updates but it says I will lose all media and apps if I don't update on the computer where  I sync everything. "
Correct as well.  Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one.

I can´t uninstall Itunes, quicktime, bonjour, etc. it says i don´t have permission to access the key???

Yep, there seems to be an issue with this. In addition to getting that error on my iTunes on my PC, I get an error when trying to update apps on my iPhone 5.

  • My Mac says I don't have permission to install the new Firefox software though I am the administrator.

I've been unable to download Firefox updates or install Firefox versions higher than 3.6.8 over the top of the 3.6.8 version. I get an error message, saying I don't have permission to do so though I am the administrator of this computer. At one time, I mistakenly had two admistrator accounts and I think this is the core of the problem. In any case, I am unable to update or download newer Firefox versions (very frustrating). I'm running OSX 10.6.7 on an intel-based MacBook.

Contact your carrier & have them reset your Voicemail. Most carriers require such, so after they reset it, just set it up again.
