The next 875P bios... _what_ is taking so long?

The MSI flagship mobo for enthusiasts, the 875P Series, has not received a bios update since 2003-6-26!
An important feature Intel sata raid 1, as well as numerous errors have yet to be implemented/resolved, which makes it very hard to understand why MSI has not worked hard to remedy issues with their 875P - their flagship.
This forum as well as many other respected external forums speaks what everybody involved in the MSI 875P nightmare is thinking.
We are highly unsatisfied with MSI's lack of involvement in the development of their flagship motherboard products bios and it is hurting MSIs credibility.
Unfortunately the return period for purchased items (where I live) is only 14 days, which leaves little time to discover if your motherboard manufacturer can be trusted to update the bios of your product when needed or not.
I bought the 875P, based on very good reviews from hardware websites I used to trust and crossed my fingers that MSI would in time remedy the baby-problems that seemed, at first, to be common to all mobos with the 875 chipset.
MSI, you have violated my trust in you and your products by not committing yourself to improving your product after it has left the shop.
You have little or no time left to save your skin. This motherboard is making your trustworthiness bleed as long as it does not receive your, highly needed, support.
Tell us what is going on - that would be a start. We have been waiting for a new bios for over a month now and have heard nothing from you.
A beta bios seem to circulate but, according to beta users, it remedies only few of the many errors we have with your flagship motherboard product.
Your moderators have stopped commenting on when the next bios will come out. A bit less than a month ago they told me that it would take "a few days" for a bios with intel sata raid 1 to come out.
Last bios for the MSI 875P was on 2003-6-26... _what_ is taking so long?!
-Andreas

Well I for one think that MSI has really dropped the ball on this one. Asus, Giga-byte, Abit etc all have released Bios for thier 875P chipset mobo's that now fully support RAID 1 on the Intel SATA. I liked the 875P Neo because of its feature rich design. When I looked at all the available offerings from the competitors at the time MSI seemed the best. If the only problem with this board were the lack of RAID 1 support I would still be a little miffed at how long the new Bios fixes are taking and how little improvement there has been to the most serious memory, fan, stability, and automatic OC related issues.
Remember people that these Mobos have a very limited time span before they begin to go obsolete. Technology moves fast and if MSI can not provide these fixes as fast as the other mobo makers then it is all over for them. How do you think you are going to feel come September when the NEW chipset mobos are being sold and the MSI bios issues have still not been sorted out? We are talking like 2 months here. No, I say where stability and performance are concerned with Motherboard technology time is of the essence, to little to late is not good enough. I would rather not feel like I should have waited till September and bought the next chipset for the same money I spent on this one.
Reputable companies support their products in a timely fasion. MSI has failed miserably at this. I will certainly be going back to Asus , Gigabyte, Abit, or Intel for my next purchase. The little money I saved on the 875P Neo and the extra features gained were simply not worth the crappy bios fixes which are well behind the above mentioned companies in both release time and quality.
Sorry this is just the way I see it. I will not be coming back to MSI in the future. They quite simply do not deserve my money.
Polecat out

I have just purchased lion  on the apps store but it is taking very long to download. Is this normal

Probably. It's a very large download and Apple's servers are undoubtedly being hammered by everyone else also wanting to get Lion on the first day.

4,5 is realistic. I also hoped for a golden sample. Didn't happen.

It did 5310 mind you, but that was a suicide run  .  I can run it at around 4,6 - 4,7 at the max recommended 1,4V, but to maintain all the power saving features, 4,5 is the limit for mine.
I also read on the forum that 1.9 PLL voltage was maximum, so need to remember that as well.
I'll keep you informed as soon as parts come in and system had been build, thanks for your time and info.

  • I wanna a new update of the iOS 7 but it's taking so long

    Please. Help me !

Like Niel already said, you can't upgrade to iOS 7, it is not supported by your iPod. (due to the RAM, iOS 7 needs 512 MB and you have only 256 MB)

  • How to split table in the report so it shows on the next page?

    Hi,
How to split table in the report so it shows on the next page? Im trying to fit long (many columns) table into my report page. It is too long however. I want it to wrap and show the rest on the next page. What I get now is table cut at the page end and rest is not visible.

Yes, this might be that the amount of data will cause table to grow and exceed 1, 2, 3.. pages. In that case I would probably want to have, lets say , one half of columns on 1st page then the other on the 2nd page and then repeatedly the same sequence down across all pages. Is there a way to achieve this?

  • Why is the game taking so long to download

when i purchased deus ex: human revolution from the mac app store it kept saying error occured and then it started to download and now it is taking too long to download the finishing time says 6-8 hours i have tried restarting the download but it is still taking too long what should i do?

How much RAM do you have?
You might want to build it out to the max.
Macs are not gaming consoles, as such are not maximized for such use. They are computers, not gaming consoles, that is not to say they can't play games. Just understand that they will generate more heat and if you are using a game that is using a high number of CPU/GPU cycles, you may have to use an additional cooling apparatus.
    All the best

  • Why is processing/transcoding taking so long for youtube video

I'm using a MacBook Pro 17" made in late 2011. Runing software OS x Lion 10.7.3 and 2.4 GHz Ubtel Core i7 with 8 GB 1333MHz DDR3. I have a AMS Radeon HD 6770m 1024 MB. It is taking so long to process/transcode a movie. Any suggestions? Thanks

You are telling me...I videoed the event, along with editting...spent hours just to get it ready for processing...paying people to watch my video may be considered some form of punishemnt in some location.
More on the serious side, the video deals with state and local govenment policy and school budgets. Hot topic these days. Final decision could mean many jobs could be saved or eliminated. Can't compete with "Gone with the Wind", but for those involved, it could make the diference on how one provides for ones' family. It the sign of the times we are living in now.
Update: was not able to upload to any of my streaming sites, so placed it on a local server for local access.
Now working on the next video which is ONLY 30 minutes long...been rendering for 1:55':26"---over half way done...feels like I'm on vacation!

  • AirPlay Screen Mirroring (Mavericks) disconnects frequently with "Feedback taking too long to send" message

My company has several TVs with AppleTVs (3rd generation units) connected in our conference rooms so we can "Screen Mirror" our Mac laptops via AirPlay during meetings. Many employees have complained that AirPlay Screen Mirroring drops frequently during meetings for no apparent reason.
In attempts to determine the cause of the issue, I removed the AppleTV units from Wi-Fi and hard-wired them all to the LAN (100Mbps/Full duplex, no switchport errors seen on the Cisco switch). I upgraded the AppleTVs to the latest firmware. I had our AppleTV users ensure they were running MacOS Mavericks with the latest software updates installed. I had the Mac laptops hard-wired into the LAN during meetings in the conference rooms. None of these changes resolved the AirPlay issue.
I reviewed the MacOS "/var/log/system.log" file from the laptops of several users that reported issues. I found a pattern that seemed to indicate that the "coreaudiod" process reported "Feedback taking too long to send" several times before the AppleTV connection was terminated. Also, from a network trace (using "tcpdump") taken during an unexpected AirPlay Screen Mirroring disconnection, I could see that the Mac laptop sent a TCP FIN packet to the AppleTV unit (this would indicate that the MacOS laptop initiated the closing of the AirPlay connection).
I have included the relevant log file entries below. Please note that the LAN internal to our company is "solid" and there have been no connectivity issues detected or reported during the times the AirPlay sessions were disconnected.
I believe I have found a workaround to this issue. By going into "System Preferences", "Sound" and then changing the "Output" device BACK to the "Internal Speakers" (rather than the AirPlay destination), the AirPlay Screen Monitoring connection seems to remain stable.
    My questions are:
    - is anyone else experiencing this type of problem? any other solutions recommended?
    - is there a way to change the AirPlay defaults so that Screen Mirroring only sends the video (not audio)?
    - does anyone know what the log file entries indicate (like, what does "Feedback taking too long to send...." mean)?
    - any fix planned for this issue?

I'm currently still experiencing this as well. I've confirmed it occurs on 10.9.1, 10.9.2, and 10.9.3 on MacBook Pro Retina's, Mid-2012 and 2013 MacBooks. It happens on multiple ATV's not just one, all are updated to 6.1.1 and a simple reboot seems to fix it temporarily but it does come back. All the ATV's are connecting to the network via Wireless not Ethernet. These are 3rd Gen ATV's but I checked the serial number and these do not match the bad batch of Apple TV's from 2013 that were offered up for Replacement for Apple due to the bad firmware update. None of the computers have the Firewall turned on. Here's the two logs that we always find after the issue occurs (logs are recent, happened this morning):
    5/30/14 8:57:36.017 AM coreaudiod[183]: 2014-05-30 08:57:36.016946 AM [AirPlay] ### Feedback taking too long to send (30 seconds, 17 total)
    5/30/14 8:57:36.332 AM coreaudiod[183]: 2014-05-30 08:57:36.331492 AM [AirPlay] ### Feedback failed: -6723/0xFFFFE5BD kCanceledErr
The user will get disconnected from Airplay anywhere between 30 seconds to 3 minutes after logging on and can reconnect but then once again get disconnected after the same time period. One interesting thing to note is that when the Feedback Taking Too Long to send error starts occuring and the countdown to disconnect start ticking down to 30, its solely referring to Audio not being sent over the network and Video is working just fine. If I try to play sound I get another log and the sound doesn't play through the speakers. After a reboot, sound works fine and the Feedback Error's do not show up. I've also tried switching to Internal Speakers (since it defaultly switches to Airplay Speakers) after connecting to Airplay and seeing the Feedback timer start in the Console Logs but even after that the log continues to saw its taking too long to send and disconnects in 30 seconds.
This issue has been ongoing for months, I've got a ticket logged as far back as January with this occuring but its infrequent enough that we've just restarted and moved on. I'd say its an issue that occurs to about 5%-10% of meetings but that's an entire meeting that doesn't have the ability to Airplay until someone comes down and reboots it.
I don't often post in this forum but its still an active issue with no resolution, proof that its occuring on other people's systems, and no firmware updates having been released to correct it. It'd be nice to know of any workarounds other than having to buy some lamp timers for each conference room just to get a functional ATV or putting up a sign that says hey if you get disconnected every 3 minutes, reboot the ATV. The whole reason we're using Apple products is for ease of use otherwise I'd put together a much cheaper solution myself. Any help or recommended troubleshooting steps would be fantastic at this point.

  • Query taking too long, yet cost is low

    hi guys,
I am running a query on two databases that were created the same way and have the same data.
On one the cost is nearly a million, and it runs in a matter of a few seconds
On the other, the cost is 40000, and it doesn't finish executing
I have looked at the explain plan, and there is no cartesian merge join on the second query, yet it is taking so long. What can I do to investigate this?
    thanks

Could you please post an properly formatted explain plan output using DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY including the "Predicate Information" section below the plan to provide more details regarding your statement. Please use the \[code\] and \[code\] tags to enhance readability of the output provided:
    In SQL*Plus:
    SET LINESIZE 130
    EXPLAIN PLAN FOR <your statement>;
SELECT * FROM TABLE(DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY);Note that the package DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY is only available from 9i on.
In previous versions you could run the following in SQL*Plus (on the server) instead:
    @?/rdbms/admin/utlxplsA different approach in SQL*Plus:
    SET AUTOTRACE ON EXPLAIN
<run your statement>;will also show the execution plan.
In order to get a better understanding where your statement spends the time you might want to turn on SQL trace as described here:
[When your query takes too long|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=501834]
and post the "tkprof" output here, too.

  • When are we gonna see the next bios release???

I was just really curious to see if anyone knows when we are going to get another bios release for the 875 boards.  It has been quite a while.

Where's the latest MSI BIOS for the 875P Neo that was supposed to be released by mid-Nov?
The "performance segment" seems to have been forgotten - because of slower sales volume? Are they facing extinction like those MSI boards using "Granite Bay"?
The 865PE Neo2 has OVERTAKEN the 875P Neo customers.

    Version 1.8 Update date 2003-9-8
    - Add Intel ICH5 RAID1 function.
MSI And MSI has already updated 865PE versions - first is a Neo2-PS with Prescott Support
I guess this means previous 865PE Neo2 and 875P Neo probably won't support Prescott...
:shocked_anim:And MSI has plans for an updated 865PE with a Neo-PFISR Extreme Overclock version that overtakes the 875P Neo-FIS2R abilities!
The Neo board still has issues with the current official BIOS. Is the planned DOT causing more problems than the update is fixing? 1.9b3 seems a lot better than 1.8 - can an official version be released soon?

  • What we need to see in the next Neo Platinum 250GB BIOS revision.

We need 0.5 increments in the LDT speeds, and 0.5 multipliers too, there's no reaosn for not including them seeing as other boards have them, and all you're doing is limiting our overclocking options and therefore our enjoyment of the board...
Anyone else got any ideas for what we need to see in the next BIOS?

MSI PLEASE SORT THE TEMP READINGS OUT! Sorry for caps but this is beyond a joke.
    K8T + 3200 @ 2.32ghz 1.61v = 46C load
    K8N + 3200 @ 2.24ghz 1.56v = 61C load!!!!!!!
    Thats just insane.

  • K8N Neo2 Platinum: Whens the next bios update?

anyone have any ideas of when the next bios update will be coming out?..... just curious....

Nope... You did read the forum rules right? We are just a user to user tech forum. No lads from MSI are here to give you that kind of answer.

after updating ipad , the next day it is locked and doesnt take my password, help please

    Same problem for me.
    1. Cannot connect to wifi as icloud password pop up keeps appearing.
    2. tried deleting account. UNable to do so.
    3. tried resetting password by logging into apple id through desktop as mentioned in one of the responses in another thread. Unfortunately the apple id to be reset is the same as being prompted by icloud and hence unable to reset the same.
Feel like breaking the **** ipad into bits. Stupid of apple to let such a bug in and not offer support !!
