The problem persists (names of files)
Two days ago I made a topic called "The names of the files changed after recompress online
media manager." I am still curious why the names of my the low resolution files have changed.
For instance,the names of the original files(the name what they came when I did the ingest"-Full Res.)are Kitesurf001,Kitesurf002,Kitesurf003….but after recompressed to low resolution using media manager the names remain the same *PLUS "-V"*.
I thought the problem was with my computer or with my files,but all of my HD's are formatted
as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and are my files has Reel. Out of curiosity I asked to a
friend to lend me a DVD from Lynda.com (Color 1.5 essential training) to see the files.

If you've noticed,the name of the files has the original name PLUS "-v" or "-a"
-v =>means Video
-a=>means Audio
I did some experiences and I noticed...if I recompress files without audio,the name of the files
keeps the names PLUS "-V. The same happens with audio.
But if I recompress some media that has audio and video the name of the files does not change
This is normal?
Did you find the offending file? If not, then you're not way ahead of me. If so, then you need to go over everything again.
All I know is that I went nuts finding one lonely ampersand in one file. Stick to alphanumeric characters only.

When I publish my site on one specific page where I've added {tag_pagecontent} I get the error:

I'm trying to get a blog module going, I've even deleted the html insert bog with the tag in and re-published which then I don't get the error but as a result no blog either. Also I've noticed when I've re-published occasionally it will show the mobile version on my desktop and not the desktop version??? no idea why that's happening so I've had to turn that off. any explanation on why that is happening would also be much appreciated.I haven't received an answer as of yet, I'll post t on here when I do. I de-activated the mobile site because it's my clients site so he needs it to be operational during the day. I hope someone gives me an answer soon.

Time machine backups are failing. I've followed the instructions I found on the Time Machine troubleshooting page (http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html) but have gotten to where I don't know what to do next.
Sequence of events:
The main error message is always:
An error occurred while copying files. The problem could be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk.
Yesterday, I opened Disk Utility and verified the disk. Got this error:
Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.
I ran Disk Utility and repaired the hard drive. Then I manually started the backup before going to bed, figuring it was going to take a long time to run. When I got up this morning, the backup had failed with the same "could be temporary" error. I checked the log, which says:

TeryYou have repaired your boot drive (which is good) but have you repaired your time machine drive? I don't own a Time Capsule so I don't know if disk utility can operate on it. If it can, you should repair it as well. You may need to erase it and start a new backup. That happens to time machine volumes from time to time and is why people who are serious about their data never rely on a single source of backup.

I recently starting receiving the error message "Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to... An erro occurred while copying files. The problem may be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk. I have had no problems backing up my MacBook Pro 2011 to my Western Digital My Book Live through a Linksys EA4500 router until recently. I've made no major changes. I've ran a diagnosis on my back up drive with no problems. The Time Machine back up starts, but about after about 5 to 10 minutes I get the error message. I can see the shared drive in Finder. The light on the drive blinks while it starts the back up. I can see the shared folders on the networked drive. The backup process starts but for some reason it just stops. Can anyone help?
You can't repair a network volume in Disk Utility.
Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. I know this isn't the answer you want, and I also know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and that it usually seems to work. Except when you try to restore, and find that you can't.
If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or to an 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base stations support Time Machine, not any older model.
If you're determined to keep using the NAS for backup, your only recourse for any problems that result is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.) -
I've been building a site in Muse successfully until today when I get this error message in the browser, publishing to business catalyst as a test bed:
Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect. Clear browser cache and try again. If the problem persists please contact website author.
Clearing the cache has no effect and I have checked the assets and there are no error symbols. This happened after trying a google translate code in the <head> and a HTML snippet on the master template, I've since removed it but that the last action I took that I can think may have had an effect.
Viewing the source of the page in Safari hash;t helped other than it shows ALOT of html (including some elements i can;t relate to in my site design) and states there are three errors:

I started this site in Muse CC and then recently upgraded to Muse CC 2014, and I had install issues so deleted the original program (this then forced the download of the new version which was not automatically downloading even though CC notified me that an update was required.

AndrewSame problem here but it has nothing to do with a cellular connection.
Created the site http://www.blackdot.com in Muse 7.4.3 with no issues. Just updated the .muse file today to Muse CC 2014 and reloaded to our web server. Now I am getting the error "Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect." when viewing the site from the latest version of all browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) on a Mac and all browsers on a PC (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Explorer), also mobile Safari on an iPad.
My connection is wired broadband, not a mobile or wireless connection. I am not using the Muse "Upload to FTP host…" option and will not be using it. I am simply exporting as HTML and copying the files to my server. I have deleted all files from the web server and recopied the updated site with the same error result. This is the exact same procedure I used to load the initial site with the prior version of Muse.
It does not seem like there is an existing solution to this problem although many others are experiencing it. It looks like I will need to manually edit each page to remove the error message coding from the html files. Any tips on how to strip out the alert message from the html?
UPDATE
For anyone else experiencing this issue, I was able to edit the .html files for my site to remove the code responsible for this alert message. If you wish to edit your .html files you must make the same edit to every .html file in your site export including the top level "index.html" and all .html files inside the "tablet" and "phone" folders if you have them.
The coding to remove is at the bottom of each .html file:

Make sure you do not remove any semicolons or braces {} when making this edit. Just remove the text shown above. You will obviously need to remake these edits if you export your site as HTML in the future. -

The system is as follows:
Size of .pst file: 2.3 GB (Unicode format so there should be plenty of space left)
OS: Windows 7 (64-Bit)
Application: Outlook 2013 (32-Bit)
The user upgraded from Outlook 2010 a few months ago and the error message has only recently started appearing on startup. I thought it was a corrupt mail profile, so I have already tried creating a new mail profile, as well as the repairing tool in Outlook.
I even tested another email account and that worked just fine. So apparently it is something wrong with the specific user's account/profile and not something wrong with the computer - since my email account worked fine on his computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop. The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile). This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred. I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved. -
My time machine backup has failed for the last couple of days. Im getting the message saying," error. this may be temporary, if the problem persists, go to disc utility to repair the problem."
I have done the first aid in the disc utility and still not repaired. Do I erase the disc, as it says????1. Reboot the TC alone.. Just pull out the power cord.. count to 10 and plug it back in.
If TM still cannot find the disk..
2. Do a full network reboot.. everything off.. restart in correct order.. modem.. wait 2min.. TC wait 2min.. then all the clients..
If TM still cannot find the disk..
3. Factory reset the TC and do a fresh configuration. The TC is known to occasionally throw a wobbly and spontaneously forget its name.. part of old age.. (2years is starting towards old age for a TC).
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
If TM still cannot find the disk..
4. Wipe the old backup.. and start afresh.. this sometimes also happens.
You can try a verify of the disk. See A5 here.

I am trying to deveop a program, using java and XML which can store contacts of a few persons(using XML) and then retrieve the contact of a certain person when asked (using java).
I have defined the schema in a file name: contactlist-schema
and the corrsponding XML file is named: contactlist.xml
I have created a java program to traverse the contactlist.xml file (document = builder.parse(new File("contactlist.xml")))
it compiles successfully, but when I try to execute it, it gives me this msg:

i cannot open iphoto- the message I am getting says Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command-

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
