The relation of Servlet , bean and jsp

servlet can output to IE directly? I mean that design a servlet adding some code in the service method, compile it, input URL: localhost:8080/test/servletname, can I get result? (Tomcat, register servlet in web.xml)

yes that's the point!
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.http.*;
import java.io.*;
public class HelloWorld extends HttpServlet {
     public void doGet( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp )
     throws ServletException, IOException {
          resp.getWriter().println( "<html><body>Hello World</body></html>" );
}

              You realy can do it like Xiang says, but the better way is to use packages. That's
              the way BEA is designed for. If you use packages you can but your bean classes
              in every subfolder beneath Classes. Here for example we have the subfolders test
              and beans:
              You have to declare the package on top of your Bean Source Code:
              package test.beans;
              In your JSP you don't need the import code of Xiang. You only have to refer the
              path of your bean class:
              <jsp:useBean id="testBean" scope="session" class="test.beans.TestBean" />
              There are some other AppServers that only can deploy Java Beans in packages. So
              if you use packages you are always on the right side.

  • What is the Relation Between S_PARTY.ROW_ID AND S_PARTY.PARTY_UID

    Hi,
    What is the Relation Between S_PARTY.ROW_ID AND S_PARTY.PARTY_UID

    Why do you need to know?
    From the configuration in Tools (for instance the fields of Business Component Contact) you can see that by default they have the same value.
    But if you import through EIM you can supply your own value for PARTY_UID.

  • What is the relation between adobe forms and web dynpro

    hi
    what is the relation between adobe forms and web dynpro

    Hi Jyothsna,
    Adobe forms are advanced to smartforms and scripts.
    Adobe forms are much easier than smartforms they are online forms.
    they can be developed online.
    Adobe forms : This is another SAP tool designed to create your own forms. The transaction for this is SFP.
    How to use them: You can create a sales order form in adobe form and send to the sales reps. Sales reps can fill this form when they are not connected to internet / SAP system. Once they connect to SAP just send an e-mail to a specific user id in outlook. You got to customize and code how do you want to process once you receive this form. This enables you to create orders even when you are not connected to the system. Hence no data loss. This is not how i used though :-). This is just my idea.
    What is the difference between Adobe forms and smart forms / scripts.
    Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms. Many companies must be using this for hard copies / ALE / EDI or to transfer data from SAP to others.
    Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too.  So this has an additional feature compared to smartforms.

    Web dynpro in one of the component in NETWEAVER.
    Web Dynpro is the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces and provides support when developing the Web representation of business applications. The Web Dynpro model is based on the Model View Controller paradigm, and has the following features that build on the classic dynpro model:
    ·        Clear separation of business logic and display logic
    ·        Uniform metamodel for all types of user interfaces
    ·        Execution on a number of client platforms.
    ·        Extensive platform independence of interfaces

  • Settings for the relation of requirement type and planned order type

    Dear Gurus
    Where we maintain the settings for the relation of requirement type and planned order type?Actually I have maintained strategy 60 for a particular material (planning material) so the requirement type is vsev and along with that the planned order type is coming is vp i.e non convertible planned order.That is ok the system is behaving right.But nowhere I can find the setting of vp with vsev how the system is picking vp?

    That is an inbuilt sytem setting and you can't change that.

  • How can i use JAVA BEAN and JSP?

    well, i have developed all my web apps by using pure JSP only, i know this sucks, but i dont know how to start on using beans... what directory should i put them into... etc... what are the good programminmg practices/standards/techniques when incorporating beans in jsp???

    Standards are pretty loose, but generally, Beans hold a lot of the backend logic for your JSP. This can include data validation before entering into the database, database inserts, queries, data manipulation. The JSP should really only contain code that will retrieve the data from the bean and appropriately output it.
    As far as using them, you can use the <jsp:useBean> tag in your JSP. As long as the bean is stored somewhere that your classpath points to, you're all set. From then on, you can use it like any other object in your JSP.

  • Servlets, initArgs and JSP

    Could someone from the WebLogic team please comment on this:
              Is it really true that I cannot
              a) Set some common arguments for all of my servlets at once, like:
              servlets.default.initArgs = pooluser=someuser, poolpwd=somepwd
              or
              weblogic.httpd.initArgs.* = pooluser=someuser, poolpwd=somepwd
              b) Read initArgs, added to the *.JSP section, from within a JSP like the
              following:
              String login = config.getInitParameter("pooluser");
              or
              String login =
              getServletConfig().getServletContext().getInitParameter("pooluser");
              or
              String login = pageContext.getServletConfig().getInitParameter("pooluser");
              I'm currently using WL 4.5.1. Neither of the tryouts in problem b works.
              They all return "null".
              As you can probably see from the code-sniplets I'm trying to hide the
              WL-database-pool username and password from the programmer. It should not be
              hardcoded in the servlets / JSPs, but embedded in the weblogic.properties
              where it belong.

    husbil,
    I think generally speaking, servlets are the next generation of CGI scripts. As you mentioned, servlets are written in Java and CGI scripts are often written in Perl. The main difference between the two is that servlets can persist between requests, but CGI scripts cannot. Servlets are also more portable because of the whole platform-independence thing. In addition, when a request is made to a servlet, only a lightweight thread is spawned to handle the request, whereas each request to a CGI script can spawn a whole new process.
    A JSP usually only handles the front-end aspects of Java-based web application. It'll be mostly HTML with a few snippets of Java code thrown in there to make your web page nice and dynamic. All the application logic should really be handled by the servlet, not the JSP, so I think that's why JSP's aren't really considered on the same page (no pun intended) as scripts and programs.
    Does that help?

  • Transfer data from one database to another without identities but keep the relation b/w PK and Foreign key

    Hi,
    I need to transfer data from one database to another database (both are identical databases).
    1. Not transferring identity columns (primary keys). the destination table might have the same key.

  • Java beans and JSP - Training

    Hi
    Does Sun or some other organization conduct any good workshops on Javabeans and jsp technology - hands on training like Microsoft products usually have. - Something like "devcon" ??
    Some people from our workplace have to have some urgent training on these technologies. Thanks in advance.
    Sue

    They sure do... http://courses.coreservlets.com/
    Don't really know how much or how often they offer these courses though.. looks like the guy might be free to do something soon. But to be honest, these courses basically run through the book. If your programmers have a decent background in Java, I'd say you could just as easily get away with getting some books (Profession JSP - Wrox press is amazing). I learned JSP in about 3 days of solid cramming.

  • What is the relation between main class and inner classes

    hi
    i want to make a UML design and o want to know how to draw the relation betwwen the main public class and inner classes?
    and what is the relation?

    My best answer based on your rather vague question:
    A minimal public class in a file named "Minimal.java" in the directory named "minimal":
    package minimal;
    public class Minimal {
    private int variable;
    public Minimal(int var) {
    variable = var;
    public int getVariable() {
    return variable;
    }This would be an example of adding an inner class:
    package minimal;
    public class Minimal {
    private int variable;
    public Minimal(int var) {
    variable = var;
    public int getVariable() {
    return variable;
    public class Inner {
    private int innerVariable;
    public Inner(int var) {
    innerVariable = var;
    public int getInnerVariable() {
    return innerVariable;
    }The inner class is exactly like any other inner class except if you are accessing it from anything else other than Minimal then you would have to add Minimal. right before Inner for example, where the Minimal class could use
    Inner inner = new Inner(5);other classes would have to use
    Minimal.Inner inner = new Minimal.Inner(5);
