The sql collation for bpc

Hi everyone,
I am installing bpc 7.0 based on sql server 2008. However, the database is also working for ERP and ERP must use the collation
"SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2". According to my experience, the collation of database for bpc is always "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS". who knows if bpc must use "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"? Actually, I meet an error "can access 'master' database..." while installing. Thank you.

I have set up a new instance including a new database engine and a new analysis server and used the correct collation. However, after I install bpc, I check the log file, it is like the following
Installation Status
     Diagnostics: Done
     Create AppServer Database: Done
     Create Sample Database: Done
     Create Sample OLAP Database: Done
     Setup Management console: Done
Starting BPC Send Governor Service: Error
     Starting BPC Insight Service: SKIP
Then I check the new analysis server, there isn't the apshell cube. However why the log is "Create Sample OLAP Database: Done", and why "Starting BPC Send Governor Service: Error"?

    Hi ITBobbyP,
As to this issue, I find that this is a known issue which you can see on the link below:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/649210/bids-sql-2008-r2-warnings-not-clearing
According to the Feedback, we can workaround this known issue by Re-open the project. And if Warning was in fact resolved, it will no longer show on the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) "Error List".
As to your former issue, please refer to the expression post by
    Jingyang Li.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Can I change the SQL Datatype for Oracle Date?

xMII 11.5 maps Oracle's Date type to its SQL type code 91 (Date).  When used in a display template, this xMII type displays only the date component (for example, "5/5/2007"), but in Oracle it holds the date and time.  In Java, the java.sql.Date type also holds the time component.  To get xMII to display a date/time (for example, "5/5/2007 11:23:59") you must have a SQL type code of 93 (Timestamp).
Is there any way to get my xMII widgets to show the date and time components of an Oracle Date?  Is there a mapping of some kind that tells xMII which database SQL types map to which xMII SQL type codes?
    -tim

    In Aqua Data Studio:
    SELECT CREATED_DATE_TIME, MESSAGE FROM COLLABORATION_LOG
    where CREATED_DATE_TIME > to_date('01/01/07','mm/dd/yy') and site='DEM1'
    order by CREATED_DATE_TIME DESC
    GO
    results:
    CREATED_DATE_TIME   MESSAGE
    5/3/2007 8:30:25 PM   (403)Access Forbidden
    5/3/2007 8:30:25 PM   (403)Access Forbidden
    5/3/2007 8:30:25 PM   (403)Access Forbidden
If I put the exact same SQL (without the "GO" at the end which is an Aqua Data Studio keyword) into a Fixed SQL Query in xMII and click "Test" and choose html format I get:
    CREATED_DATE_TIME MESSAGE
    05/03/2007 00:00:00 (403)Access Forbidden
    05/03/2007 00:00:00 (403)Access Forbidden
    05/03/2007 00:00:00 (403)Access Forbidden
The time component is reported as "00:00:00" in xMII which is not the desired result.  I want xMII to see that column as a Timestamp which should read and sore both the date and time components in xMII.

    eg

    is read as

Indenting the data clearly shows that the hierarchy rules are being violated (cycles you are mentioning do not matter in this case):
Each node must have a unique predecessor except the root having none (in your case data on lines 3 and 4 both point to lines 1 and 2)

2007Q4,TERR,       N0F1B40405201,N0F7B40405M99Removing the first data line or changing it's curr_rdt_id will make hierarhical queries work (lines 1 and 2 would better not point to themself)

  • How many SQL CAL for bpc 7.0 Microsoft

    hello
customer asks how many Microsoft SQL Client Access Licenses he must buy to use SAP BPC 7.0 SP3 Microsoft (100 users).
As there is not any more direct access from Bpc client to SQL or Analysis services, I think 1 CAL is enough.
Could tell me if I'm right ?
    Thanks.

    David,
Don't you think your remark was rather uncharitable? It is true, there are a lot of people trying to mooch off of others' kindness (and as long as there are willing folks complying for whatever reasons, it is not going to change anytime soon), when it comes to hardcore technical details about a product, lot of people are at a loss as to how the things work (yours truly included -  i have worked in SAP space for almost a decade and i couldn't tell you their licensing details - I never needed to do that to discharge my role as a functional consultant). I think Remy did indicate the thinking behind the question which is much more than a lot of folks do when they ask you and others to just e-mail some document etc....
I am sure you would concur.

  • How to write the SQL query for generating triangular numbers

    Hi,
I have a table ..which stores the sequence number like this
    Seq :
    1000
    1200
    1300
    1500
    1800
    1900
Now i want to get a result like this
    1000 1000
    1200 2200
    1300 3500
    1500 5000
    1800 6800
    1900 8700
how can it be achieved. I tried using Lead and lag. but only I can add the n+1 or n-1 results. Please help.

I've never heard it called 'triangular numbers' before but I think you're looking for a 'running total':

8     SELECT 1900 AS num FROM dual
      9  )
    10  /* END SAMPLE DATA */
11  SELECT num, SUM(num) OVER (ORDER BY num) AS running_total
    12  FROM   data

          1500          5000
          1800          6800
          1900          8700

  • What is the sql statement for doing this?

    Hi,
I am currently doing a simple search engine that allows a user to key in a filename and display all the files' name close to keyed filename(the first two letters are the same). What is the proper sql statement to select from Document according to DocumentType and the first two letters of the filename? Am i doing it the right way? I am currently use Access 2002, dunno if it will affects me.Thanks in advance
    [What i did]
    String filename="doc,txt"
    SELECT DocumentType from Rule where UserType='1' and Action='Search';
DocumentType=1,5,9,13,17,21,25,29,33,37,41,45 // This is all the document Type the user can see.
Next i used StringTokenizer break the DocumentType.
    DocumentType[0]=1;
    DocumentType[0]=5;
SELECT * from Document where DocumentType and Name <<< I want to select from Document according to DocumentType and the first two letters of the filename

One more try - from what I can follow?
If I assume you have a table named for example "UserRules"
    which has fields UserID,UserType,UserAction
and has records like this that controls the document types
a user is allowed to see
    UserID UserType Action
    TOM 1 Search
    BILL 7 Search
    ROY 2 Search
And if I assume you have a table named for example "AllowedUserDocumentTypes"
    which has fields UserType,DocumentTypes
and has records like this that controls the document types
a user is allowed to see
    UserType DocumentTypes
    1 1,3,4,5,6,19
    2 7,9,12,18
    3 1,19,33,27
And you have the document table which has
    fields are DocNo,Name,Title,Date,Filename,DocumentType
and it has records like this
DocNo Name Title Date Filename DocumentType
    12345 BILL Cars CarTypes 18
    12346 ROY Trucks TruckTypes 2
    12347 TOM Toys ToyTypes 17
12345 JACK Car Colors CarColors 19
12345 TOM Car Shapes CarShapes 7
    Then the select statement
    Select DocumentTypes from AllowedUserDocumentTypes
    join UserRules where UserRules.UserType = AllowedUserDocumentTypes.UserType
    and UserRules.UserID = 'ROY' and UserRules.Action = 'Search';
    will return 7,9,12,18
If the DocumentType field is numeric and the user entered "CarCrap" the
select statement would have to look like this
    SELECT * from Document
    where left(Filename,2) = 'Ca' and DocumentType in (7,9,12,18);
If the DocumentType field is say varchar
select statement would have to look like this
    SELECT * from Document
    where left(Filename,2) = 'Ca' and DocumentType in ('7','9','12','18');
You will have to build these select statements related to the user.
Note you should also allow for upper and lower case differences. I
would suggest you convert the user entry into uppercase and do a select
    like below
    SELECT * from Document
    where Ucase(left(Filename,2)) = 'CA' and DocumentType in (7,9,12,18);
This is all written from memory, not tested and I have not done this
    in several years.
I was showing approximately how to build the statements before.

    03 ABC2 01
    04 ABC4 02
In the above table PARENT column refers to ID column , but actually in SQL query i want to have ID, DESC , and PARENTDESC (i.e., desc value of the corresponding ID)
Actual output that i need is
select ID , DESC , ?? from table where ID=someValue . Now if i provide ID=01 then output should be like this:
    ID DESC PARDESC
    01 ABC ABC1
Can anyone help what can be the required sql query ?

Please consider the following when you post a question. This would help us help you better
    1. New features keep coming in every oracle version so please provide Your Oracle DB Version to get the best possible answer.
You can use the following query and do a copy past of the output.
select * from v$version 2. This forum has a very good Search Feature. Please use that before posting your question. Because for most of the questions
that are asked the answer is already there.
    3. We dont know your DB structure or How your Data is. So you need to let us know. The best way would be to give some sample data like this.
I have the following table called sales
    with sales
    as
          select 1 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1001 inv_num, 120 qty from dual
          union all
          select 2 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1002 inv_num, 25 qty from dual
    select *
from sales 4. Rather than telling what you want in words its more easier when you give your expected output.
For example in the above sales table, I want to know the total quantity and number of invoice for each product.
The output should look like this
    Prod_id   sum_qty   count_inv
1         145       2 5. When ever you get an error message post the entire error message. With the Error Number, The message and the Line number.
    6. Next thing is a very important thing to remember. Please post only well formatted code. Unformatted code is very hard to read.
Your code format gets lost when you post it in the Oracle Forum. So in order to preserve it you need to
    use the {noformat}{noformat} tags.
The usage of the tag is like this.
    <place your code here>\
    7. If you are posting a *Performance Related Question*. Please read
       {thread:id=501834} and {thread:id=863295}.
Following those guide will be very helpful.
    8. Please keep in mind that this is a public forum. Here No question is URGENT.
So use of words like *URGENT* or *ASAP* (As Soon As Possible) are considered to be rude.

    Hi Frank,
Just wanted your opinion on the above given SQLI'm not sure I understand it.
I added some more formatting to help me read it:
    SELECT      A
,     CASE WHEN LAG(A,1) OVER (ORDER BY A) IS NULL
OR A=LAG(A,1) OVER (ORDER BY A)
THEN LAG(B,1) OVER (ORDER BY A)
         END B_LAG
    ,     B
    FROM     (
         SELECT A, B
         FROM
SELECT '1'A,'Apple' B FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT '1'A,'cat'B FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT '2'A,'bat'B FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT '3'A,'rat'B FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT '2'A,'yellow'B FROM DUAL UNION ALL
              SELECT '1'A,'pin'B FROM DUAL
         CONNECT BY PRIOR A=B
         ORDER BY A
);What is the purpose of the CONNECT BY in what you have so far?
Is the idea that you will add another CONNECT BY query, using
    CONNECT BY  b_lag  = PRIOR b?
Do you think that will be better than using ROW_NUMBER?
Will it work if (a, b) is not unique?
