Third party batteries- Nexen, Newer Tech, others?

Do any users of third party batteries, such as Nexen, Newer Tech, Battery Technologoes (among others) have opinions to share? Some of these batteries are billed as holding a bigger charge and capable of more cycles than the original, as well as being cheaper. I'll be getting replacement batteries for both an iBook G4 and a Macbook Pro soon, so the price tags and purported enhanced endurance/longevity of these parts caught my attention.

Hey Mousewife and others:
I bought a Newer Power battery, 5000 mAhn. After calibration (it took two charge/discharge cycles before the full capacity was reached), the battery shows 5000 mAhn on the Coconut Battery program. With my typical usage (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Safari, Mail, Adobe Creative Suite) the battery has been lasting more than four hours, which is a major upgrade over my original Apple battery. Only time will tell how long this level of perfomance lasts, but so far I am very pleased. The outward appearance and fit of the battery are pretty much indistinguishable from the original, and the cost was actually $10 less than a replacement Apple battery. So far, so good. I will still keep my old battery as a backup and secondary power source for the long plane trips I have to take from time to time.

  • Third party SO creating new PR after rejection is removed...

    Hi ,
Sometimes due some user mistake, rejection is set in SO & this deletes the corresponding third party PR. But third party PO is already created w.r.t this PR . Now if user removes the rejection in SO, it creates a new third Party PR or new item in the same PR.
this make it necessary to delete the old third party PO & create new PO w.r.t the new PR. So i wanted to know if there is a way when rejection is removed from SO, it does not create a new PR but it simply undelete the earlier third party PR?
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for sharing the info.
Check IMG - SD - Basic Function - TOR for Maintain Requirements For Purchase And Assembly Orders
Still I really suspect, whether that will be able to help you. As per my experience, if your all info / determination are correct, it will automatically create PR in background on same. So, this initially avoid determination of plant (standard way). but it created lot of confusion, so we used exit.
I would still suggest, to keep it simple, use exit for you requirement

  • Urgent Warning About Third-Party Batteries!

Canon, Nikon, Sony, and other companies are starting to put code in their camera firmware that locks out third-party batteries in their cameras and chargers. So do not update your firmware if you are already using third-party batteries in your camera. Obviously, these changes make the third-party batteries that Best Buy carries in their stores as well as via part-search/marketplace useless, so Best Buy needs to work on carrying more manufacturer-made camera batteries in their stores as I've noticed that there are many cameras that Best Buy sells or have recently sold which have no batteries available in their stores or only have third-party equivalents available in the stock.

    Hi LexMachine,
Thanks for the information, and if accurate it could be concerning for people currently using these batteries. I have also just stuck with the manufacturer's batteries, but can't say I haven't been tempted by the less costly third party substitutions.
Can I ask where you are getting this information? Is there a link(s) you can provide? Not saying it's not accurate, but would like to verify this information.

  • Third Party Batteries

My iBook needs a new battery. I notice that there are people who sell third-party iBook batteries that claim to have longer life than the Apple one. Anybody have experience with these, or know of potential problems?
The Apple store battery listings are SO vague. It's really unclear whether they work for both G4 and G3 iBooks. I assume they do, but they never TELL you, which is highly annoying (and makes me not want to buy it direct from Apple in any case).

    John,
I bought a third-party iBook battery from Other World Computing. It's supposed to have about a 50% more juice in allowed in it.
It works very well, and I noticed that it doesn't exactly match the white on my iBook G4, but more so the iBook Dual-USB's finish. The difference is that on the iBook G4, the plastic is solid white colored. On the iBook G3 models, the plastic is clear, and painted white on the inside. The battery is like the latter. So that's good for you and your Dual-USB iBook.
As for the iBook batteries in the Apple Store working for both iBook G4's and iBook G3's, I don't know. Sorry.

  • Computer won't access or stay registered with third party accounts after new hard drive installed

Had a hard drive crash a a few months ago on iMac. Took it to an Apple-certified repair place, and they installed a new hard drive. (And I think updated the OS as well.)  iMac is working great, but have run into an odd issue with signing into accounts -- such as stores, banks, etc. Each time I try to sign in I need to reregister the computer or in some cases, I simply can't sign into the account at all, despite using the correct user name and password. Tried calling the third party accounts customer support and got "It's a Mac - we don't have anyone who does that." One other place said it "might have something to do with cookies."
Can anyone help out with this one? It is extremely annoying!
    Thanks!!

Thanks. This seems to have worked.
I ran the reinstall and then upgraded back to 10.6.8 via software update, and App Store and iTunes both work now.  I was able to log into my iTunes account and my old purchase of 10.7 was there.  I'm downloading it now as I type this.
I still have to deal with the fact that iLife and iWork and Xcode aren't working (and probably other things too), but the biggest hurdle seems to be crossed.  I'll deal with the other apps tomorrow.
    Thanks again!

  • File transfer programs and third party software to new i-mac

    Hi
I own a I-mac 2.93ghz 24'inch 4gb and have just upgraded to a I-mac 3.9ghz 27inch I-mac 4gb, i run logic pro 9 and reason as well as a load of third party soft synths and plugins how can i transfer them over from my old I-mac to my new model without having to install them all again, i would be grateful for a step by step process if it can be done?

    Short answer:No.
    you can either:
    1. reinstall everything on the new machine,
    or
    2. at your own risk, use SuperDuper to backup (clone) your old drive onto the new machine, if you are using the same OS.

  • Recently my macbook charger died and I purchased from a third party seller a new charger that has the same amperage and voltage listed, but different model number. my question is should I be worried, or is it all right?

So recently my model number A1184 charger for my mac book pro died and I purchased a new charger online. They sent me a different charger, a model number S165365, that has the same amperage and voltage listed. my concern is whether it is okay to swap one out for the latter?

Is this your charger you got?

I suppose it's OK, though if I were you, I get original stuff even if it's expensive.

  • Integrtion of SAP with other third party tool

    Hi,
In my company there is a software called Axpert which handles accounts receivable transactions.
Now we want to post the data or integrate it with the sap.
Can anyone help me how SAP is integrated with other softwares.

    Hi,
Initially you want to make sure your third party application excepting the data format both Inbound and outbound integration.

  • What is the best option to edit the PO delivery address for third party

    Dear Community members,
first of all have some sunny greetings from Germany and thanks for my last question.
Standard SAP third party process - Create SO - Purchase requisition - Create purchase Order.
In the purchase order the ship to address from SO is shown greyed what is standard.
So now our user requests to be able to enter another address because e.g. :The customers ship to address is in Berlin, but the vendor delivers to Hamburg. From there we take over the delivery and bringing it to the end customer address. So some vendors require to see the Hamburg ship to address instead of the one in Berlin.
So our customer service people print the PO out and edit it manually atm.
So now I am asking you if you had simililar issue and what is the best way to solve it. We could use some new partner function and assign it to the relevant customer and choose that one in the PO. Maybe it is also possible to change the address into the edit mode and overwrite the address in the PO?
    Thanks for your help
    Goran

It will not be possible to edit the delivery address in the PO in standard. You will need to change the ship-to in the Sales order.
Refer to this note Point 8: 550192 - FAQ: Changing third-party and individual PO items

  • 3rd party batteries on VIXIA

I ordered an extra battery with my VIXIA HFG10 because the one it comes with does not last long enough.  However the extra battery I received is a 3rd party battery and it WILL power the camera, but shows me a message that it cannot communicate with the camera.  That means I cannot know how much time I have on the battery before it needs recharging. Is this something I just have to live with?  Or is there a firmware update that will communicate with my spare battery.
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi stahld!
Welcome to the Canon Forums, and thanks for your inquiry! Canon does not support third party batteries since Canon can't control the quality of battery that other companies produce. Our batteries are "smart" batteries that communicate with your camcorder so that it knows exactly how much charge is remaining. It seems that your third party battery does not support this communication and this could be why the camera shows the error message. We recommend only using Genuine Canon batteries for this reason, and for the safety of you and your camcorder! You can learn more about using third party and counterfeit batteries here: http://bit.ly/CanonCounterfeit
    We hope this helps!

  • SLD - Technical System Types: Third-Party vs. Standalone Java

    Hi all,
can somebody explain what´s the difference between the technical system types
    "Third-Party" and "Standalone Java"
Please give also one example for a standalon java type.
    Thanks,
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
    1. Third Party: Can be any Tech System. For example you want to send a xml message from a file adapter residing on your PC. You can define your PC as a 3rd party Tech/Business System.
    2. StandAlone Java: WEBAS640 has bot Basis and Java Stacks. If you installed only the standalone java Stack on a server, then you define a standalone java tech system.
For more info check the XI-3.0 Help documentation.

Well, this "third party" is going to put my old hdd back and not charge me any money (as he did not fix it) but i think its better off taking it to an AASP because i have a feeling Apple store will charge way too much.
The way I read that comment – you seem to suggest the Mac was broken before the third party replaced the disk - is that the case or was it working before the HD was replaced?
Since the Mac is out of warranty you will have to pay for any repairs wherever you take it. Authorised Apple service centres will be able to get parts whereas any non certified technicians will have to use 'grey market' parts since Apple will not sell parts to the public. These may be reconditioned or not official parts - it's a risk to use them. Visit the Apple store & ask them - there is no point in lying about it being handled by a third party. An Apple tech may be able to tell when they open the case, depending on how meticulous your third party was.
If you are handy with a screwdriver & have tools and a lot of patience you could use a guide on iFixit.com, but there is no indication of why this Mac not booting up.
It could be that the disk is not formatted correctly.
Are you sure the tech copied an OS onto the disk? Did they install the OS for you or did they clone the old disk?
Can you boot from a backup disk or from an install disk? Does the disk appear in Disk Utility when booted from another OS (either the installer or a backup).
'Not booting' can mean so many things, what does booting do exactly? Grey screen, black screen, any noises or tones, any signs of life at all…?
If you look at the iFixit guides you will see many fiddly connectors, if the tech failed to hook them all back up it could explain the failure, or perhaps you just have a disk that is 'dead on arrival' - sometimes that happens. A properly trained technician should be able to figure that one out.

  • Third party battery - display showing "not charging"

    Hello everyone,
After my original battery started to behave as it had come the highest time to replace it ("service battery", sudden shutdowns), I did it and another issue has popped up immediately.
I bought a third party battery in service point and after installing it and plugging the charger I noticed the green light indicator was still on. At the same time the battery display on the menu bar has been showing the battery is not charging (occasionally it turns into "charging" but then comes back to "not charging") although it actually does but very slowly. I tried to calibrate the battery but when the computer was about to go to sleep it just shut down suddenly when reached 1%. However I let it stay unplugged for the 5 hours, hoping it might helped eventually but when I plugged the charger the condition remained unchanged. Beside that the battery holds power properly.
Of course I tried resetting SMC but it didn't change anything either.
Does anyone have any idea what's the cause may be? I'd be bery grateful for any hint.
    Thanks in advance
    Pawel
PS: sorry for any syntax/grammar mistakes..

Yeah, this is exactly what I was (and stil am) going to do tomorrow but wanted to do some research earlier anyway.
I've just installed the old battery and the orange light appeared right away so I guess it's not the MagSafe issue. Besides, as You wrote, it would be extremely weird if it just stopped working at this moment.
While I was researching the internet I stumbled across some thread where someone wrote some logic boards may just not recognize the third-party batteries (cheap chinese one in this case). I suppose it may be the reason but it's only my guess.
    Thanks for reply

  • Third Party GRN Posting Date to be Copied to Sales Order Line item Billing Date

    Hello Experts
I have a client requirement where in they want to bill line items in the sales order ( third party process ) to the end customer in sync with the GRN posting dates happened in the PO
For EG if GRN happened on 1st July 2014 then Billing Date should come in as 31st July 2014 so when they execute VF04 giving from and to dates as 1st july to 31st corresponding sales order can be invoiced
Actual problem is for suppose if i create a sales order in the month of june say 26th basing on the factory calendar setting and invoicing list maintained in the customer master system defaults the billing date to 30th June 2014 , and the same when user runs VF04 from 1st June to 30th June this sales order shows as due and mistakenly end user invoices the customer ( whereas logical GR would have only received in July 1st )
My requirement is similar to below threads but i am unable to find answer how to copy GR Posting date to Billing Date of the sales order line item
use GR Doc date as billing date
3rd party sales process (w/o ship notif) - Billing

    Hi Lakshmipathi ji,
As my requirement is to update the billing date at the sales order line item level , As a process user goes in executes VF04
    For Ex
Sales Order Created Date is 1st June 2014 then System Defaults Billing Date at line item to 30th June 2014
Now when i do GRN suppose on 1st July 2014 for that line item , system should trigger a code where in check the posting date of the GRN and override the same in the Biiling Date field of the sales order line item
So when VF04 is run for a month All the GRN which are recieved in the month of July are invoiced in July
Please share me your thoughts do we need to check any userexits from MM side which reads the posting date of GRN and then copies in to my third party sales order
