Jan 7, 2015 in the evening I received a popup asking me to upgrade to the latest version 35.0, I am running 34.0.5. I was busy so I clicked "ask later" which never happened. Today Jan 8, same year I looked and tried to upgrade manually, no options so I went to the Mozilla site and it told me I was running the latest version. So is this a concern since I was not and do not use drugs?

Java recommends super() and this() to be the first statement to be used.why this design constraint is imposed?

To make sure that the constructor is the first thing that runs, and to make sure >the super instance is completely constructed before we do anything with the >child instance.

Need more than 2 states for MSO and rotation to work correct?

I have a folio with images that I show in zoom mode with a MSO state.
After finishing the vertical version of the folio I have created a horizontal version with all the same objects.
I found that the active state stays only the same while rotating when there are more than 3 states?
Is this a bug?

If you’re not cycling through the states you could set a blank state in the MSO that no button would trigger. That way you’d have a third state but nobody would know.
Yes, I have duplicated the 2nd state (which is the zoomed version of the image) and have no button for this state.
Now it seams to work. - But it's much work now because the whole files with 150 pages already had been finished.

This is more of a statement than a question but I can't stand iTunes. It is THE WORST application I've ever used.

The single worst application I've ever used. Period. I'll never buy another song or use it as a back up again. I'll pay $9.99 per month for Spotify and a cloud-based back up service instead of using this PoS software to backup my family's iPhones. I consider myself a loyal Apple user having owned at least two Apple computers since the early 1990's.

If you like crappy quality and remakes of songs from nobodys then use Spotify. If you can't use iTunes then maybe you need computer lessons. It doesn't get much easier than iTunes. Yes,they changed it and made it a bit clunky if you ask me, but for an all around video and music manager, CD burner,streamer and radio,it doesn't get much better.

I'm using a very trustworthy 2.5 year-old T500 running Vista SP2 32-bit and my laptop has begun to have the same spontaneous shutdown problems as other users who've written here. I suspect it's overheating. I normally use my T500 on a docking station, which may or may not exacerbate an overheating issue.
I want to address this problem to ensure that I can continue to progress on my PhD dissertation (!) without crises, so I have taken some of the steps previously recommended for this problem here on this board. I installed TPFC today to begin monitoring CPU temperature and it appears that it runs between 55 and 65 C. Other temps listed are lower. I also made necessary adjustments in Power Settings to maximize fan speed and allow CPU speed to float. I also removed the battery so I'm using AC power with no battery/recharging processes to add to the problem, though I'm not certain that last part will make any difference.
I want to also clean the fan since I'm sure it's probably dirty after 2.5 years of continous use in my house. How can I take my laptop apart to clean the cooling fan? Or is this something I should take it to a repair shop to accomplish?

No, my machine is not under warranty any longer. I agree, if it was, there's no way I'd risk voiding it by tearing it apart myself.
Thanks for causing me to double check. I DO have a few months of warranty left, so this baby is going to a professional! I could probalby do it myself, but why risk it?

Need more capacity/furture of ipod classic

I’m a 5th generation owner and the thing is still going strong after 5 years. (Gotta say, I’m impressed about that.) But I’m out of space. I was wondering if anyone’s heard any rumors about the future of iPod Classic. If there’s a chance they’ll discontinue it and double the size of the Touch I’ll need to get one this summer (don’t think 128 is gonna hold me for long), but if they’re going to continue it and maybe even upgrade again I will definitely want to wait till September.
Anyone hear anything? What would you do?

I downloaded the update separately as I was updating a lot of podcasts and that took 22 minutes. That is as much a factor of my ISP and the time of day (among other things), of course. When I was ready, I started the install and I do remember that the initial part of the restart seemed to take an age until the progress bar started moving; but the whole thing was done in about 30 - 35 minutes. The data itself was not replaced. I did that once before just after I bought it and that took an hour or two.

You can more easily add internal drives in a Mac Pro.
Not too terribly easy to add/replace drives in an iMac.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
Use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
After installing ODS in the Applications folder, drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. When you're done with it, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Yes, the update takes quite a bit of time (> 1 hr for my iPad2) and will not initiate unless you have enough juice in your battery or are plugged in.

You are talking about 30 Firefox Profiles on the same Windows Logon User Account?
I never saw that as a limit myself. I had 53 Profiles at one time, although I haven't done that since Firefox 3.0. It was causing an extended launch time and I started using "remote" Profiles that weren't controlled by the Profile Manager and weren't in the '''profiles.ini''' file; launched by command line. Like this in the Target line for the desktop shortcut:

I fixed the To: autofilling incorrectly by deleting my email address from the Previous Recipients List, but is there a way to stop that from coming up on emails that I receive?

Have you checked your Mac address book? If your email is saved somewhere in your address book with the name "Holidays in the United States" it might be adding the name automatically in Mac Mail.
Alternatively, try this:

To remove an email address from the auto-complete list in Mac OS X Mail:
Start typing the recipient's address or name in a new message.
Select the desired address from the auto-complete list as if you'd compose an email to them.

If you're not using chrome you can just go to adobe's website (http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/) and download the newest flash player. You run the .dmg and then open the application, which updates flash. With the latest version of flash there should be a preference pane within system preferences to allow you to change settings and check for updates.

You can add more images to your book, by dragging them from the browser to your book album. Switch to the Library Inspector, select the album or project with the images in the source list, and then drag these images onto the book icon. That will add them to the book album, and then double click the book album again to continue working with the book.
