Thread Identification from Field/Local Variable

Hello,
If i have a code that executes multiple threads , can i identify which thread is operating on a certain field ?
Thanx

Watchpoint events contain the thread that accessed the field.
See
[http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/jdk/api/jpda/jdi/com/sun/jdi/request/EventRequestManager.html#createAccessWatchpointRequest(com.sun.jdi.Field)]
However, JDI does not support watchpoints on local variables.

  • Inserting in the UUT_Results table a value that we read from our data base from a local variable

We would like to include in the UUT_Results table a value that we read from our data base into a local variable during the execution of our sequence file. We found that by modifying the configure database options we were able to add a column for this variable, but the local variable was not available to be placed into an expression for that column from the local variables or parameters. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how? Station Globals were available to be included in the expression, however the sequence file may be executed on more than one system which makes the Global unavailable on systems other than the one where the sequence file originated.

You can use the TestStand API to programmatically create global variables at runtime, thus ensuring their existence. For example, you could call Engine.Globals.SetValString("GlobalStringVariableName", PropOption_InsertIfMissing, "variable value")
Of course, if you need to test multiple UUTs in parallel, a single global is not sufficient. In that case you might consider adding the field you need to the UUT datatype in the process model. You could then access the field in your sequence via RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.YourNewField = YourNewValue.
If you also want your sequence to run without using a process model, you must check for the existence of the UUT before accessing it. You could use the expression function: PropertyExists("RunState.Root.Locals.UUT.YourNewFi
    eld")

  • Local variable fail when using SIT

    Dear all,
I am using SIT (Simulink Interface Toolkit) to obtain data generated by the model of  Simulink.  I need to use the local variable of the indicator to get the data out.
The interface with the mappings seems to work fine. The problemn is that the local variable of the waveform (this waveform is an indicater which mapped to the output signal of simulink and it can displays the signal from simulink)didn't work. I cann't obtain any data from the local variable, but the waveform which the local variable belonges to seems to work fine.
I also found an interesting thing that, when I hightlighting the execution process, the local variable  seems like didn't work at all, because there is no data flows from it.
The software version is Matlab simulink R2011b, Labview 2011.
Below is a simple test model in simulink. It is a sine signal.
Below is the local variable from the waveform which mapped to the signal of simulink. To check there is any data in the local variable, I put a waveform to check.

    Dataflow.
The local variable of the waveform is going to be empty to start.  The writing of the local variable called Waveform to the indicator called Local Variable is going to happen right away.  Only later does the waveform get any data.  But by then the first part has already exectued never to be run again.

  • Sharepoint 2013 obtain alternative value for outcome local variable

When a user either rejects or accepts a task that they have been assigned
to in the 'start a process action task, the outcome local variable value is either 0 or 1.    Right now I am updating a custom list with the value obtained from the local variable called 'outcome'. Is there a way to obtain the outcome value
as 'rejected' or 'accepted' instead of 0 or 1? If so can you tell me how to change the outcome values?

    Hi wendy,
For your issue, you can add a condition in your workflow as below:
Then you can update a custom list with 'rejected' or 'accepted' based on the value obtained from the local variable called 'outcome'.
Another way, you can create a custom Task Outcome with the value you want to use:

    Hi Amarnath,
Where exactly you are getting this error?
If you are getting at JMS Sender communication channel, try to stop and start the JMS communication channel and see the status, also use XPI Inspector to get the exact error log.

  • Cannot insert field or paste in existing Local Variable (container of booleans)

Cannot insert field or paste in existing Local Variable (container of booleans)...  TestStand 4.1.
This is very strange, especially since I have done it before.
The "paste" and "insert field" selections are greyed out and disabled from the right-click menu.  I have tried everything I could imagine, and searched various combinations of posts.  I am sure it is something redicoulously simple, bu I cannot find the redicule to solve this annoying issue.
The local variable is a container of booleans.  It has 90 elements and I need to add one more.  I cannot edit / rename or do anything with this Local.  Must be karma (for thos who know me in the LabVIEW forum).  Usually, you right click, insert field and it's there..  Not this one..
Has anyone seen this before?  Closing and re-opening TestStand did not change anything.  There is a matching cluster in LabVIEW which feeds the local in TestStand.
It is a container of custm data type.  The Edit Flags are ok (edit is allowed).  Can't think of any other valuable info..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I should correct an erratum in my original post..
Since I am not the original author of the code, I am not sure it is a custom container.  As a matter of fact, I don't think it is.
It does not appear in the custom data types.  So it must be a Local.
I will attempt to clarify what I am dealing with...  (TestStand 4.1)
Maybe pictures are worth thousands of words.
As with typical TestStand projects, there are various variables:  Locals, Parameters, FileGlobals, etc..  Nothing odd here.
The one I am concerned about is the Options_Present which is a container of booleans.
I am sure I have edited this one before.  Although I seem to recall that it was automatic after changing the cluster in LabVIEW.
Within the Locals, the  2 that are underligned in red do not allow to edit anything (change name, add, delete, paste).
Trying to Insert Field or paste are not possible.

    Use global variables.
Compare them with a constant Boolean like F or T.
The result is true or false and then you can use it in a Cae-Loop.

  • Approval task SP09: Evaluation of approvalid failed with Exception: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.length() of an object loaded from local variable 'aValue'

    Hi everyone,
I just installed SP09 and i was testing the solution. And I found a problem with the approvals tasks.
I configured a simple ROLE approval task for validate add event. And when the runtime executes the task, the dispatcher log shows a error:
ERROR: Evaluation of approvalid failed with Exception: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.length() of an object loaded from local variable 'aValue'
And the notifications configured on approval task does not start either.
The approval goes to the ToDO tab of the approver, but when approved, also the ROLE stays in "Pending" State.
I downgraded the Runtime components to SP08 to test, and the approvals tasks works correctly.
Has anyone passed trough this situation in SP09?
I think there is an issue with the runtime components delivered with this initial package of SP09.
    Suggestions?

    Hi Kelvin,2016081
The issue is caused by a program error in the Dispatcher component. A fix will be provided in Identity Management SP9 Patch 2 for the Runtime component. I expect the patch will be delivered within a week or two.
For more info about the issue and the patch please refer to SAPNote 2016081.

This deffinition ( __declspec(thread) ) of the thread local veriable does not works in some cases (see articles in MSDN how to define thread local variables in C++ code). JVM loads your native module (DLL) with LoadLibrary function. This is one of the cases when __declspec(thread) is wrong in C++ code.
