Thread Pool with Min,Max. and other thread parameters

hello,
I found an Implementation of ThreadPool in the java.sun.com,but it didn't have the minimum,maximum no. of threads implemented in the code.
Could you help me find out an implementation of Thread Pool,that keeps track of minimum no. of threads,max. no. of threads in the pool,the increment size of threads,number of idle threads,idle time allowable for a thread,etc...
I also need to know if it is possible to have >5000 threads in a ThreadPool,beacuse I get OutofMemoryError,when I used a ThreadPool( which didn't have any of the above-mentioned parameters!)

Having greater then 5000 threads is a sign of a problem with your design. Threads are relativly costly
beasties. The idea of using a pool for your threads is that you won't need to use 5000 threads
simultaniously. Most OS's will have problems trying to create this many threads per process (unless you
tune the OS itself (which is normally not too difficult))

so basically i would first denormalize the data using the pivot column and then use min and max to get the slot_start and slot_end.
But then i
can get the min and max ... but not the orignal values as well.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you want to end up with one row per slot per datasource etc, and you want the min and max slots that have the same value as the current slot, then you probably need to be using analytic functions, like:

Windows min, max and close buttons are gone my desktop applications

the min, max and close buttons are gone.
I have windows 8.1 running in a VMware view environment. if I do a system restore to an earlier date they will come back. but after some windows update they go away again.
any ideas on what I should be looking for?

Safari won't work with CNN Pipeline and other sites all of a sudden? A few weeks ago Safari was working OK but now I often have to use Firefox to visit certain webpages.
Anyone else having this same problem?
Is there a quick fix?

I have WMP version 9, as well. I do not use F4M, for many users f4mac is what helps.
I find some items work while others do not. I always get an alert about the wmp , which version it is, takes very long to load, I find it is not consistant with Safari, as seems the poster of this topic has found.

Are you using the latest version of Silverkeeper? - v.2.0.2 is stated to be compatible with Snow Leopard.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if Safari crashed, you would enter "Safari" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
          DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

The download took hours. But it was completed. After that i got a message that the hard-drive should not be ok. But it started updating the operating system.

It comes with iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand, but not with Pages, Numbers and Keynote. You have to download them from the Mac App Store.
Open the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and accept all these apps, so they will be downloaded and installed free of charge.

Issue with min/max when vertical axis assigned to multiple series

Hi.
I have some simple charting code that is dynamically adding LineSeries to a chart as the user requests them from the gui. As each series is added the vertical axis is assigned to the series and then data is requested and assigned to the dataProvider on the series. This is all working fine however I have found that if I add a sceond series after the first series is displayed and assign the same vertical axis to the second series then the vertical axis seems to set teh min/max based only on the second series added and ignores the first series. It doesnt set to the max of both series and so I get an incorrect max set. If I add a 3rd series the same happens again and the first and second series values seem to be ignored and the axis is set based on the last series to be added.
Is this expected? Ive tried different variations of invalidating the data/series/styles to force it to refresh but I always get the same. It does refresh but based on only the values in the last added series.
What is odd is that if I add 2 series at the same time, and assign the axis to both of them and then request data for both and update the dataProvider on both of them the axis is configured correctly based on the max value of both series.
Any workarounds to make it do the right thing if they are added dynamically? Is this a bug or a known "feature"?
Any light anyone can shed would be appreciated.
I need to have the axis assigned to the series directly as I want to be able to use multiple axes. I have found that if I set the verticalaxis on the chart rather than the series then it works fine and sets the min/max based on the combined values of both series.
The vertical axis is just a simple LinearAxis.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Adobe Flex LiveDocs seemed to indicate "Using multiple series in the same chart works best when the data points are in a similar range (such as a stock price and its moving average). When the data points are in numerically very different ranges, the chart can be difficult to understand because the data is shown on a single axis. The solution to this problem is to use multiple axes, each with its own range. You can plot each data series on its own axis within the same chart using the techniques described in Using multiple axes" and that link is here:

I was going to tae a look at this myself, but the code posted here is quite complex, and I suspect incomplete.
If you refer to that link and still cannot solve the issue, I would try your best to boil down your code to a more simple example still exhibiting the issue, and then post that, along with any data and the simplified main app.

I use free Yahoo mail webMail access because folders I created in webmail access doesn't get set up in Apple Mail. While I was searching for post about password and keychain issues, I stumbled on several threads that complain about Mail folder issues, so I'm holding off on Apple Mail.
On the password and keychain issue that your post is all about. I've been using login keychain to save and automatical fill my login screens for a year or so successfully, with Safari and Chrome. Automatic form fill also works for Facebook login. Unfortunately, about 4 to 6 months ago, automatic password form fill stopped working with Yahoo webmail, while still worked for GMail (Safari and Chrome). I tried deleting the password entry for my two Yahoo email accounts to start fresh, but neither Safari not Chrome will even ask me if I want to save the password. I was so frustrated that I eventually installed the keypassX 0.43 (password manager) that is quite primitive sompare to OS X's keychain (when it works). Probably no surprise to you yet.
The surprise, to me at least, is that, for whatever reason, password auto form-fill from keychain started working again for Yahoo webmail login on Safari about 5-7 days ago. Still doesn't work on Chrome!
Two tips I can share, at least with webmail access:
1. Password is save only for one of my yahoo mail accounts. When I login in with my other yahoo account, I get no prompt to save the password, and form fill doesn't work when I try to log in a second time with my other Yahoo mail account.
2. On inspection of my login keychain, I see a webform password item saved for my Yahoo account that works with keychain. The name of the password is: login.yahoo.com(MyAccountName1#). When I open the password item and look in the Access Control tab, I see Safari and Chome are listed as allowed to access this password item..
I also an "Internet password" item with a name of just login.yahoo.com. When I open the the password item, it looks just like the password item created for MyAccountName#1, but the MyAccountName#2 is listed in the Account field. Inside the Access Control tab, no apps are listed in access permission. I added Safari and Chrome to the lists of allowed app, saved the password item.
Now when I bring up the Yahoo login page(by bookmark) on Safari, form fill fills in MyAccountname#1 for name and the proper password and I can login in. When I change the name to MyAccountName#2, the correct password is retrieved and I can log in! Alas, it still doesn't work on Chrome.
BTW, I changed the password item type from "Internet password" to "Web Form password" and saw no difference! I also edited the name to be "login.yahoo.com (MyAccountName#2)" to look like the web form password item that works, but it has no effect either.
From my experimentation, here's my observation:
1. A Web Form password item is created for the first account name(MyAccountName#1) for login.yahoo.com and typed as Web Form password. When I log in using MyAccountName#2, an Internet Password is created, but no applications are listed as allowed to access the password item, even when the password item was created after just logged in and logged out to yahoo with the account name and password for MyAccountName#2.
2. Manually adding Safari as an app that is allowed to use the password item works. Doesn't work with Chrome!
The version of Safari I'm using is Version 5.1.7 (6534.57.2). My installed version of Chrome is Version 21.0.1180.79 beta.

Sorry, but. I didnt put my sql statement as I wasn't planning on posting and left it at work, but, i've been looking on internet and people say to use min/max function and i've attenpted it with it works with just this table (without grouping). But as soon as i group it the values seem to mess up.
Last i remembered it gave me:

A     20100926     0     1600:30     --basically max(time+duration) - min(time+duration)

I think it's looking at max duration which is 30&70 and hence it retrurns those values in the result set. Is it because of the max function hence it's returning this value? any help is appreciated. thanks
