Tile brick web background

I need to create a seamless, tiled background of brick (natural as possible) for a client website. Any help is appreciated.

Got something that may suit your needs. Made it last summer:

  • Tile Sliding Web App

    Essentially this is the watered down version of a mock up for a web app.
    I want to be able to slide the coloms and rows seperatly in almost a rubiks cube fashion.
    Would this be possible to build in edge animate?

    You can do it using JavaScript and jQuery within Animate.  There's a lot of fancy data structures work you would need to do to store and shift each square, but once you have that all sorted, it's fairly trivial to actually move the squares.  I know this is a very vague answer, but it's a very code-centric solution.  Hope that points you in the right direction.

  • Custom web background for users

    Hi. I've seen this done before, but not with flash. This site
    had about 4 different buttons, each controlling a different color
    scheme for the website. The users could then choose which scheme
    they wanted by pushing the appropriate button. I was wondering if
    anyone has seen that done with actionscripts/flash? Or what is the
    best way to do that? Thanks.

    choosing a different background is easy. choosing a different
    color scheme may not be so easy.
    which is it you're trying to do and are you using as2 or
    as3?

  • How to get secondary tile background color on WP 8.1?

    Currently, all secondary tiles are returning background color #7FFFFFFF regardless of color

    Hi TaskBasic,
    >>all secondary tiles are returning background color #7FFFFFFF regardless of color
    We can use the following code to convert HEX color to Color in runtime:
    var hexCode = "#7FFFFFFF";
    var color = new Color();
    color.A = byte.Parse(hexCode.Substring(1, 2), NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier);
    color.R = byte.Parse(hexCode.Substring(3, 2), NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier);
    color.G = byte.Parse(hexCode.Substring(5, 2), NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier);
    color.B = byte.Parse(hexCode.Substring(7, 2), NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier);

  • Tile not update - not run background update

    Hi,
    I write my first Windows Store app, and have a big trouble to frequently update LiveTile.
    - I have created sub with code to update tile and add schduled notification
    - run sub with ibackgroundtask implemented
    - in package manifest added bacgroundtask with system event and timer and entry point to my class with run sub
    But nothing happens in application (if i try to run sub at start of app, it update LiveTile, but nothing more, update not raise anymore)
    Have anybody idea, what can be wrong?
    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    Here are some documentations might help you with the live tile update in background task:
    Quickstart: Update a live tile from a background task
    Besides, there are some resource constraints for background task:
    Supporting your app with background tasks for instance CPU quota and refresh time.
    Base on your description:if i try to run sub at start of app, it update LiveTile, but nothing more, update not raise anymore, looks like the refresh period is the main issue, if the app is not on lock screen, the refresh time is 2 hours.

  • How do I keep the body background-image centered?

    I have a body background-image that does not fill up the
    entire window on the tops and bottoms of most monitors (it
    strectches to the left and right just fine) and so I would like to
    have it centered vertically with equal amounts of the
    background-color #ECE5C8.
    I assumed using background-position: 50% 50% would do the
    trick and it does until switching to full screen mode and all the
    content jumps upwards and messes up the whole site layout (IE
    only-in friefox, the background-image still doesn't center) so
    instead I have the background-position set to: 50% 0%.
    Thanks a million to anyone who can help me get it centered, I
    know there has to be an easy fix but I sure can't figure it out!
    The site can be found here:
    http://www.lightspacewebdesign.com/sacredsolas

    There would be only two ways to make this layout 'work'.
    1. Just make everything on that page a graphic. Then there is
    no
    possibility that resizing the text in the browser will blow
    the layout.
    This is a very bad idea for obvious reasons.
    2. Have the text containing 'graphical box' built in pieces
    so that as the
    text expands, it can cause the box to expand as well. The
    easiest way to do
    this is with a top a middle and a bottom image of the box,
    using each as the
    background image of three stacked containers. Place the text
    in the middle
    container and as it expands, it will tile the middle
    background image
    vertically to give the impression of the box expanding. This
    approach
    doesn't lend itself to your background image, since there is
    no way to tile
    the background image to fill the newly created space.
    Beyond that, I think you are a dead duck. The problem is not
    that this is
    what you were given to work with - it's that you didn't
    understand how
    unusable the design was when you accepted it. I think your
    best option now
    is to go back to the designer and explain to them how this
    lovely layout
    only works well in print, and not on the web. Show them how
    it fails.
    Solicit suggestions from them for how to make it work in a
    medium where
    there is no way to control the size of the text.

  • Creating a seamless background

    Hi!
    I have migrated over to a mac computer and am at a bit of loss. On my PC I used simple filters to create a lovely seamless background tile... but on the Mac I can't find an equivalent filter/plugin that will do the same thing.
    Can someone help me out on the steps that would be require to do this and/or a plugin that would work? I'd like to use these for web backgrounds.
    I did try searching the forum but couldn't really find anything.
    Thanks!

    Barbara thanks for the reply. I was/am using Elements V6 with Simple Filter Quick Tile installed (Love that filter) but with the new computer I am using Elements but the filter is Windows only. I was just trying to see if anyone new of any other filter/plugin available for Elements/Mac that did the same thing.
    Thank you also for the list...I did browse through that the other day. I have googled (is that a word?) but I wasn't finding anything, so thought I'd stop in here and see if someone knew something that I wasn't finding while googling! :)

  • Seamless tiles

    Hi, I am trying to learn how to create seamless tiles for the
    backgrounds of my flash sites. I can create the tiling effect but
    not a seamless one that looks good. I have seen many tiles on the
    web but I would like to have a go at making my own as I really want
    something very subtle. I was even thinking about using the textures
    in fireworks to create the tiles with. Is this possible?
    I have found many tutorials on tiling for photoshop and some
    really old versions of fireworks.... Does fireworks 8 have any new
    features that can help me with this? I would really appreciate any
    advise on this topic and if you can point be in the direction of
    some good tutorials that would be great. Thanks so much

    Nice. I'll do that right away!

  • IWeb Tiled Image Background Loads for Each Page

    My site Ostyn-Newman.com uses a black template.  I have an image that I tile for the background as well as for the browser background.  They are the same image. IWeb seems to do two things that make my site slow way down. IWeb
    1) Treats the browser background image and site background image as two images even though they are identical.  This makes for 2x the downloading necessary to fill the backgrounds.  The files are identical except for the file names.
    2) Creates image files for each page even though each page has identical browser and webpage backgrounds.  This means that on a 1000 page site, there are 2000 copies of the same image that could be reduced to 1 if they could be shared.  This would make for a much faster experience for our site viewers.
    Any ideas on how to make this happen?  I'm confounded.  I also have many small logos that I use dozens of time on the same page and IWeb creates a different image for each one.  You can see what I mean here  http://ostyn-newman.com/Gov_Fabrics.html  No big deal since each one is only a couple kb, but when you do that with 8 logos and each of those 8 is on a page 300 times, it starts to add up.  These examples are different but similar.  I'd love to figure out how to get IWeb to create and use common image resources.  I'm not html savvy, but I am fairly familiar with inserting snippets of code here and there via the Insert/Widget/HTML Snippet function to get done what I want to get done.  Thank you for the help.
    As an aside, I have explored creating a custom template using my image, but that has proved to be a bit more complex than I am capable of.  Is there a template that allows me to put my image in as the background?  That would take care of everything for me.

    Your Govt Fabrics and Leather page contains 1746 files that must be loaded for that page.
    It took me nearly 30 seconds to load your page entirely with Safari over a very fast internet connection. Firefox took about the same, maybe a few seconds quicker and Chrome 24 seconds.
    There seems to be 3 distinct sets of identifying images below the samples:
      , and
    To reduce the number of individual files to be loaded why not create 3 images, one with the 4 items, one with the 3 items, one with the 5 items and use them instead of using individual images under each sample.  That will greatly down on the number offiles needed to be loaded.
    Also using more than one page to display the samples would make each indivicual page load so much quicker than all on one page.
    These are just some food for thought.

  • How to setup jpeg file as background image for all site pages and resolution stay same?

    I have uploaded my new site to http://wwwtjhtestdec2012.businesscatalyst.com
    I have background image set the same on all site pages  but image is incorrectly zoomed way in on some pages (like Home page for example).
    The Donate Page shows the correct resolution which I want displayed on all site pages.
    How do I set all other site pages to match background image resolution of the Donate Page?
    I am not sure what I am doing wrong that is changing this, or if it's possibly a bug?
    I want the background image to be full screen on all site pages please advise how to resolve.
    I would appreciate the assistance!
    Thank you kindly!
    Tammy

    I have re-uploaded my site to http://wwwtjhtestdec2012.businesscatalyst.com.
    If I set the Master page to Tile vertically that is only way I can get full screen background image of vegetables (without distortion).
    Then however another issue occurs....
    On Home Page of site I set same property to Tile and the background is better (no visible line where tiles meet---above the navigation tool bar--that is what I want for all pages associated to Master.
    So logically, I tried setting a 2nd associated site page to same master, to Tile but on Statement of Faith Page, notice the horizontal line where tiles meet, above my navigation bar on that site page?
    Why does Muse not handle both site pages associated to the same master identically?
    Any of the other options besides Tile or Tile vertically cause the background to not fill entire screen.
    Ideas?

  • Transparent background in Captivate Flash movie on all slides

    hi im trying to make background transparent, and I've achieved it in first slide of presentation, but when slide changes the background changes to white.
    Im using transparent png as tile in stage background and changed parameter in html file - so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");

    The source file:
    http://intersiec.com.pl/captivate/szkolenie.cptx
    Can You help me make whole presentation background transparent?
    Best regards,
    Kamil

    Hi Erik
    The fact so much time has passed since your first post would seem to indicate you have managed to stump all of us. LOL
    I know way back around Captivate 1, 2 or 3 I would play with creating a transparent background, but I also recall that one of the versions seems to have unfortunately broken that.
    Frankly, I'm surprised you are able to coax the initial load to be transparent. And about the only think I can think of to suggest here is to look at the properties for slide 2 forward and see what's different between them and the first slide. Master Page? Maybe by doing that you will find the "secret sauce". If you do, please share!
    Cheers... Rick

  • Image color in jpeg doesn't match backround color in web page

    I made a simple panel in photoshop and used the #number for the color selected to fill one side of the panel in my CSS code. When the page is rendered there's a very slight difference between the panel and the background which I expect to be exactly the same.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks

    This is normal behavior for Photoshop, or any color managed application.
    There are ways to guard against it. The root of the problem is that jpgs
    are color managed by Photoshop, while the web background is not.
    You may be able to do an end run around the problem by using a transparent
    png image instead of a jpg. If you want to stay with a jpg image, the
    simplest solution is probably to turn Color Management off in the drop-down
    in PhotoShop's Color Settings (accessed via ctrl-shift-K). Another
    possibility is to assign (not convert) your image to your monitor profile.
    It is also highly advisable to use sRGB as your working space. Do not
    embed a profile if it is important that the jpg's colors match the non
    color managed objects on the web page.
    If you do embed a profile - for example the sRGB profile, then color aware
    browsers will convert your jpg images to the user's display profile, and
    the person viewing your web page may see a mismatch between your carefully
    prepared jpg and the background.
    It is conceivable that certain color managed browsers will default your
    image to sRGB, and perform a color conversion even without a profile, in
    which case you will see a mismatch no matter what you do. If that happens,
    you may be able to do something tricky, like use a scaled png or jpg image,
    filled with your background color, as your background.
    The key point to remember is that gif images, and numeric web color values,
    are not color managed by color aware browsers, but jpgs are. Including an
    embedded profile in the image means that the browser is free to convert the
    colors in a jpg image. Result: different color numbers.

  • How to create web applications with the LabVIEW web server

    Wonderful Forum,
    I've noticed that sometimes it can be tricky for LabVIEW users to learn how to create their own custom web clients using the LabVIEW web server. I created a LabVIEW web development community group and wrote some tutorials to teach the basics of creating web clients using HTML, Javascript, and AJAX. The idea is that LabVIEW users without any web background can quickly look at some tutorials and examples to get started on their own projects.

    What do you think?

    Hi Joey,
    A great idea! I recently presented at a local user group meeting about my WebSockets API (see the links in my signature). I've uploaded the presentation and the demo code I gave to our UG here.
    I think the barrier to entry is with needing to know the web languages (e.g. html/css/js) as well as writing your LabVIEW code. I have joined the group and look forward to seeing some interesting content on there! Certainly some demos of using AJAX to make requests to Web Services and do something with the data (e.g. display on a graph) would be a good place to start.

  • How do you crop a diagonal pattern in a way that makes it tileable for web?

    At the moment I have just given up and made one huge image and kept it at around 800kb for a web background. However, I realize this is not ideal. I can't figure out how to make this pattern tileable. I figure there's some crazy math I have to calculate to figure in the crop size so that the cut off for the images fit perfectly, but I have no idea how to do that. Has anyone run into this situation before and found a solution?

    You're doing it wrong! :-)
    Use css to solve this problem. Although there is no css property to rotate a background image, you can apply a neat trick to create the same effect.
    1) save your file as a regular rectangular pattern (17.6kb!) :
    2) save this in your images folder in your site root.
    3) to create a rotated background for your page, use this:
    body {
        position: relative;
    background: url('../img/bgrot.jpg') 0 0 repeat;
    body:before {
        content: "";
        position: fixed;
        width: 200%;
        height: 200%;
        top: -50%;
        left: -50%;
        z-index: -1;
        background: url('../img/bgrot.jpg') 0 0 repeat;
        -webkit-transform: rotate(-20deg);
        -moz-transform: rotate(-20deg);
        -ms-transform: rotate(-20deg);
        -o-transform: rotate(-20deg);
        transform: rotate(-20deg);
    Done! Far easier, and more flexible. To see it work, check out the test I made at http://estructor.altervista.org/rotbg/test.html
    You can inspect the code in your browser.
    PS css transformations are unsupported in IE 8 - the background will still show, though (non-rotated). For IE8 you will might want to use a conditional comment in your html to create a conventional background pattern instead.
    *update* I updated the example with a page wrapper element that uses the same background, but rotates it at a different angle. The trick here is to create a sufficiently large element that covers the entire box. Then you will have to set overflow:hidden; to hide the overflow so it contains the background pattern inside that box. It takes a bit of tinkering to get the working values for height and width, because it is slightly dependent on the actual content.
