Time stamp / serial number

Trying to create a serial number that is stamped with a dealer ID code, and the current date/time when the form is initially opened.
var dealer_id = String(Dealer_ID.rawValue);
var today = new Date();
var serializedNumber = Dealer_ID + today.getTime();
SerialNum.rawValue = serializedNumber;
Something is amiss as I get this info in the SerialNum field:
[objectXFAobject]115764993
Any help figuring this out is greatly appreciated!
Joe Zach

Joe,
Javascript is case-sensitive. The following is the cause of your problem:
var serializedNumber = Dealer_ID + today.getTime();
It is trying to add the Dealer_ID form field object itself to the time. You need to instead add the
value of the field to the time. Change 'Dealer_ID' to 'dealer_id' and that should fix your problem.

  • Apple Time Capsule Serial Number Issue

    Can anyone from Apple explain why when you add in a Time Capsule serial number it is recognised on some areas of the site and not on others?

    Welcome to the discussion area!
    We're all end users here on the forum, just like you. Apple likely does not even read these boards, and even if they do, there has never been an official response from them.
    You need to call Apple customer support directly to review your issue.

  • Time stamp to number conversion

    Hi All,
    I notice in Labview 7.0 the 'Get Date/Time to Seconds' and 'Seconds to Date/Time' now output a Time Stamp rather than actual seconds.
    There is a 'To Time Stamp" standard vi in the conversion pallet that converts a number (seconds) to a time stamp but I really need to convert from a Time Stamp to real seconds.
    Does anyone have a vi that might do this or is there something already in LabVIEW 7.0 I have overlooked?
    Many Thanks in Advance for your help.
    Sammy Mason

    You are going to have to post an example where the conversion does not work.

  • Time stamp to number function

    The Conversion VIs and Functions palette has a function that converts the number of seconds elapsed to a time stamp (To Time Stamp Function).  I need to go in the other direction, from a time stamp to a double (number of seconds elapsed since 12:00 a.m., Friday, January 1, 1904 Universal Time).  Does anyone have a function to do this?  I've tried to type cast with no success.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Just use the To Double Precision Float function. It's polymorphic and it will accept a timestamp to return the number of seconds since the LabVIEW "zero-time".

  • How to plot contour using time stamp

    Hello,
    I need help on the following:
    I acquire size distribution data each minute from a particle counter. I would like to plot the data as a contour plot using time stamp on the x-axis, the size bins on the y-axis and the 2D data on the z-axis. I cannot get the contour functionality in LV 2011 to accept the time stamp format. I did change the format of the x-axis to "absolute time" but it still doesn't work, see simplified diagram below.
    Any advice on reformatting a time stamp to something the contour plot understands??!?
    Thanks a lot,
    Claus

    Hi Mogensen!
    You could use the "To Double Precision Float" vi to convert the timestamp to a double prescion number as mentioned in this forum post "time stamp to number function". As mentioned in that forum, the number is based on the LabVIEW epoch date so you can use it to compare values taken at a specific time.
    I can't look right now but will that work?
    I thought the 3D stuff was single and the magnitude of the time stamp would swamp the difference in time stamps.
    Just thinking out loud.

  • Any table which has Time stamp when a company code is created

    Hi Guys,
    This is a simple question but there has been no easy answer.
    I have 100 company codes of which I would like to find when the company code went live. Does any one a simple way rather than going by Transport number.
    -Table T001 and T880 does not have any time stamp
    - Transport number is the way but it is very difficult to go through thousands of  transport
    Do let me know if there is any way.
    Thanks,
    R

    Hello,
    Please try Evaluating the Change Logs (if not archived/deleted) using Transaction Code SCU3
    Give the table name as T001 and select the option 'Tables' in the 'Evaluation for' section and give an appropriate time. You will then see the list containing Change Docs for this table.
    Hope this helps.

  • Encore 2.0's starting PTS (presentation time stamp) ?

    Greetings:
    Could you please provide the starting PTS (presentation time stamp) in number of ticks based on a 27 MHZ clock?
    (I own a subtitle extractor that computes different time stamp values and was told that the PTS was different for Encore 2.0.)
    Thanks,
    William Johnston

    Ruud:
    A sample text line is shown below:
    00:01:43:16&00:01:46:08#G:\DVD\Subtitle Extractor output\Cowboy Bebop Remix\images\extractor output\EXT_03_1_1\temp_1.bmp
    I use OCR software to create text from the bitmap.
    The 27Mhz clock was from a technical contact. The company name is authoringware.com.
    As an aside, I purchased a program from authoringware that recomputes VOB files based on a new DTS value.
    Hopefully, I can create timestamps that are the same as Encore's TextScript timestamps.
    I am still researching the issue.

  • Creative Suite 2--invalid serial number message on Vista

    I just got a new computer with Vista (64bit). I successfully installed Creative Suite 2--it accepted my serial number initially--but now when I go to open any of the programs, I get the prompt for name, company, and serial number. Each time, my serial number is rejected as invalid. (I've checked many times, and I'm positive I'm entering the correct serial number.)
    I'm fine with purchasing the upgrade to 4, but I'm concerned that I'll buy it and it won't work. I assumed I would need to install 2 on my machine before I could upgrade, which is why I did it--even though I've read about problems running 2 on Vista.
    Should I go ahead and get the Creative Suite 4 upgrade--and troubleshoot at that point if I have problems? I'm just worried about losing all that money if it doesn't work!
    Thanks!

    The above references XP64 but also applies to Vista 64.
    But you do not have to have CS2 installed to upgrade to CS4. Just have the disks and serial number handy. If you do upgrade make sure you install in the default location.

  • Final Cut and Serial Number

    I had Final Cut Studio 5.1 intalled on my Powerbook G4. Then, my computer was sent in and I was without for a month. So while it was away, I put Final Cut Pro on my home computer to finish my film for school. When I got my laptop back, I tried uninstalling Final Cut Pro on my home computer, but didn't have the installation disk, so I just simply trashed the 'Final Cut Studio System ID' on my home computer so that I couldn't use the program.
    So, now Final Cut works fine on my Powerbook. But, I accidently updated to 5.1.4 - while my school computers are still on 5.1.2. So I wanted to uninstall Final Cut, and then re-install it so that the applications would be compatable. But, when I insert my Final Cut Studio Installation Disk, it asks for my serial number, which I put in - but the 'Continue' button never lights up.
    I also went to the website to register my product so that I could download the 5.1.2 update...entered my serial number and it told me it was an invalid number.
    I'm entering the exact same number in the exact same way that I originally did on my Powerbook. Is there anything I can do? The only time the serial number has ever been on another computer before was when it was on my home computer, but I hadn't registered it, and then I removed it - so my laptop is the only computer I have Final Cut on. Why isn't this working? It's quite frustrating when I need an edit for my class tomorrow and I can't work on it.
    Thank you for any help, suggestions, or support.

    That's good to know, thank you very much. I was wanting to use it on my G5 this Summer (same one I installed it in before).
    I'm entering the fields exactly as I had originally entered them, and I'm using the right letter/number (O/0 or I/1) when applicable. But it still won't let me continue.
    I even trashed the 'Final Cut Studio System ID' on my PowerBook, then opened Final Cut, it asked me for the serial number - I entered it, exactly as I had been trying with the disk, and it worked. But it still won't work on the installation disk.
    Also, I did a bit of editing on the PowerBook (5.1.4) and then moved to my school's computers (5.1.2) expecting them not to be able to open the file, but it did. I know that 5.1 and 5.1.1 weren't compatable with 5.1.2, so how is 5.1.2 compatable with 5.1.4? Regardless, this is good news.

  • Legal if original serial number

    Is it legal to install a copy of Aperture if you use an original serial number?

    to elaborate, this disc is only a "copy" of the original disc, but with its own original serial number.
    The license is not concerned with the original or copy of the disk but with having the program installed on one and only one computer at one time - that serial number can be used only on one computer - if you want to install on a second computer you must remove the program from the first computer first
    The license allows you to use Aperture on one computer at a time - So it is fine if you purchased the original disk and it is not installed on any other computers
