Time values to signal

Hello,
i am trying to generate time signals for which i have values in matlab. I am trying to figure out a way to take this data in to simulate arbitary signal vi. I am unable to convert the data from mat file to lvm file. is there a way to do this.

Dennis_Knutson mentioned correctly, same signal can be generated in LabVIEW...!!
but if the constraint is, you only have the data file (.mat file) and no MATLAB code, probably you may want to check following links:
1. I want to read a Matlab MAT file into labview
2. How do I Transfer Data Between The MathWorks, Inc. MATLAB® Software Development Environment and LabV...
I am not allergic to Kudos, in fact I love Kudos.

  • Using COUNTIF on time values in pop-up menu (employee schedule template)

    I have modified the Numbers employee schedule template to my liking and it works very well. I would like to add a column to the beginning which shows, at a glance, how many people I have scheduled for AM shifts and PM shifts on a given day. My AM shifts start at 9:00 AM and my PM shifts end at 6:30 or 8:30 PM.
    So I thought I could use COUNTIF, but after I set the array, I cannot get the condition right to return anything except "0". How do you make it detect the appropriate times? The times in each cell for In and Out times are selected using a pop-up menu, just like the template.
    Here is what I tried: =COUNTIF(E3:AE3,"9:00 AM")
    What should the condition be to return a proper count?

    ac,
    You shouldn't feel badly about having trouble with this template. It is a rather tricky one. The values in the Pop-Up menus are Date/Time values. That is to say, they have year, month, day, hour and minute components, even if only the hours and minutes are displayed. So if you only compare to the hours and minutes, you will never get a match.
    I don't know if you have experienced this yet, but when you changed the Pop-Up menu content, you probably entered the current year, month and day unknowingly and will have trouble doing math against the Pop-Up content that was originally in the template.
    My suggestion in your case would be to convert the time references to decimal hours before doing a comparison. For instance, if the time you wish to compare to is in cell C4, you could extract the decimal hours with =HOUR(C4)+MINUTE(C4)/60
    Remember that the hours will reflect a 24-hour day, so times in the afternoon will run from 12.0 to 23.99...
    Then after converting to decimal, instead of using "9:00 AM" for the COUNTIF criteria, use 9.
    There are probably ways to do this using the Duration format as well, but I prefer the decimal hours.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lead time values are not appearing in the report for current year.

    Hi friends,
    Iam checking a report in production.  where lead time values are displayed as 0 for 1 key figure lead time3 (w/0 dim) . i found there is a formula for this it shows like NODIM ( 'Lead Time 3' ).and there is a value for cal.lead time
    how can i get values in the report.
    Thanks ,
    VRV.

    Hi,
    Although your question is not clear, I understood that the formula built on that KF is NODIM. Basically it means, units of measurement is not considered when calculating.
    Eg: 5 Minutes + 5 Kilograms = 10
    You please try to analyze your KF by the above logic. Then you would be able to figure out why the data is not appearing in the report..
    Assign if helps...

  • "The movie contains an incorrect time value" error - saving a trimmed video

    I am attempting to trim a video shot on my Samsung CL65. The video was shot in High Quality HD 1280 x 720. I open the video in QuickTime and then use the Trim command to remove the last part of the video and then close it to Save it. When I save it I get the following error: "The document SAM_0306.MP4 could not be saved as "SAM_0306". The movie contains an incorrect time value." I think this has to do with an encoding error in the original file or in the trimmed file but I have no idea how to get around it.
    Any ideas?

    This info probably won't help with your problem, but it's information for others who get this error.
    It's probably the software that made the MP4. ffmpegX, for example, and the mencoder program inside it, do this with every H264 encoding when the video is longer than 1 hour. Time codes are correct up to 1 hour, then the seconds value gets wacky (3600 is added to it). Quicktime won't save a movie with a time code like 1:20:3623.120 (although it will correctly display 1:20:23 in the player).
    Apple used to offer quicktime scripts that would allow you to see what the time code in a stream really looked like. Applescript appears to have officially and quietly gone missing, though, and those scripts are no longer available online as far as I can tell. There were some really handy other scripts that would allow you to view all sorts of movie properties and manipulate tracks (great for syncing poorly synced sound, for example), but time code problems like the above would invariably mean the movie couldn't be saved.

  • How can I use two drop down lists for one time value?

    I want to enter the length of time that someone does an activity in hours and minutes using two drop down lists, then enter them as a single time value (H:i:s) in Mysql.
    I've used the basic drop down lists, and a few different variations of the following with no success (seconds is a hidden field with a value of "00"):
                           GetSQLValueString(strftime('%H:%i:%s', strtotime($_POST["sleeptimemin"]." ".$_POST["sleeptimehr"]." ".$_POST["seconds"])), "date"),
    This returns 00:00:16, no matter what is selected on the drop down list.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    MySQL stores times in human-understandable format, using the 24-hour clock.
    GetSQLValueString($_POST['sleeptimehr'] . ':' . $_POST['sleeptimemin'] . ':00', "date"),

  • Pop-up menu to list multiple time values (8:00 AM etc.) ?

    I was looking at the option of using a pop-up menu to select times (8:00 AM etc.) from to keep from having to enter all the times in my spreadsheet manually. Has anyone done this before and is there a download or widget for this? Unfortunately for me, I would need it to be in increments of 5 minutes starting from 7AM to 7PM or so, which would be a tremendous amount of parameters added to a traditional pop-up menu.
    Thanks for any input.

    Thanks for the insight, it seems to make good sense to me with your process to create multiple pop-ups and/or sliders. Since I'm still new to iWork Numbers though, are the tables you illustrated in your reply saved in a separate spreadsheet to use as a reference for the pop-up in other, separate spreadsheets? Is that what LOOKUP is used for (to reference another sheet)?
    My invoice has a single cell for an "IN" time and another for an "OUT" time; all incorporated to a fairly "busy" invoice that can't accommodate any additional cells in those areas.
    Both tables are on the same sheet, but I placed them on separate tables on that sheet.
    They don't have to be on separate tables, and they don't have to be on the same sheet, but they do have to be in the same document, as Numbers does not provide for linking to separate documents/files.
    With the busy invoice in your case, you could place the popup and slider cells (two of each) on a separate table, and only the result cells on the same table as your invoice. The popups and sliders could go on the same table as the lookup array, but that table would then have to be both visible and unlocked.
    Placing the Lookup array on a separate table allows you to lock that table to prevent accidental changes to it. You can also easily hide the Lookup table by placing it behind the main table (your invoice), or on a second sheet in your document.
    Placed on the same table as the rest of the invoice, you can still hide it simply by hiding the two columns containing the lookup information.
    An alternate method, requiring no extra cells or tables would be to Use Insert Date and Time (in the Insert menu, or from the keyboard with shift-option-command-D ) to insert the date and time directly.
    There are some complications with this which might make it unusable, depending on how many people need to be trained and how well they take to training. Insert Date and Time starts with the assumption that what you really want to do is insert the date. Changing its mind takes a couple of extra steps that must be done immediately, and each time.
    1. Click on the cell to select it.
    2. Go Insert > Date and Time (or press shift-option-command-D )
    3. Before taking any other action, double click the cell (which will now be displaying the current date) to open a small dialogue.
    4. In the dialogue, use the popup menu to choose one of the Time only formats.
    5. Click outside the dialogue to dismiss it.
    The cell will now contain the current Date and Time value, and will display the current time.
    Note that the Time, when inserted this way, will be the time that the insertion was done, and won't be rounded to the nearer five minutes.
    You'll find a discussion of LOOKUP (and the two related functions, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide, and an excellent overview of Numbers (including explanation of the terms I've used above) in the Numbers '09 User Guide. Both can be downloaded using the menu items in the Help menu in Numbers. Both are recommended reading for new and old users of Numbers alike.

  • Help Please!!! - Unable to read or execute SQL with Next Run Time value.

    Hello,
    We have a requirement where we need to pick the results every five minutes based on the scheduler task "Next Run Time" value. The below is the SQL which was used to run the task every 5 minutes
    SELECT <%RESULTS%>

    While we run the above SQL as scheduler task, we do not see any output. However when we run this as a standalone, we see the results. Please advice if we have missed any step while run the report as schedule task.
    Rgds,
    Vinod

    Hi
    Have you:
    1. Assigned a valid agent to your task - and have you checked that agent found is within the range of valid agents
    2. If you have transported / or is testing on another client, remember that agent assignment must be made on that system as well - and remember - SWU_OBUF.
    3. if this does not help check the authorizations  -  display access to authorization PLOG is required for infotype 1000, 1001 for objecttype AC.

  • How do I get a time value in days, hours and minutes returned to a cell from a calculation of distance divided by speed?

    How do I get a time value in days, hours and minutes returned to a cell from a calculation of distance divided by speed?

    Simon,
    you can use the duration function:
    B4=DURATION(0,0,B1/B2)
    you can further, format the cell as a duration like this using the cell inspector:

  • Ios7 clock app I can no longer see the time or cell signal at the top of the screen.

    I just updated to ios7  I have the iphone 5.
    I can no longer see the cell signal or time at the top of the clock app.  I actually have to leave the clock app to see what time it is or try to read the analog clocks in the time zone section.  I have a friend with a 4s, and they can still see the stuff at the top of the screen.  Help?  Is this a bug, or is there a setting I can change?

    This is what it loks like...no time or cell signal at the top

  • Missing Time value in Date

    Hi Pros,
    I have a table in my oracle database, lets say TableA having a cloumn, say ColumnA with data type as DATE.
    Now, inside my JDBC code, I fire a query which returns number of coulmns in a ResultSet (Including the one having DATE datatype).
    When I fetch the value of 'ColumnA' column while iterating the resultset, I get a value of type java.sql.Date.
    Now on UI side I need to display date and time value from this coulmn in a format dd-mm-yy hh:mm:ss, I used SimpleDateFormat to do that
    but the Date on UI shows a date and time value with time value set to 00:00:00 for every row which has been fetch by the query.
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy  HH:mm:ss");
    String dateAndTimeAsString  = formatter.format(resultSet.getDate("CREATION_DATETIME"))The thing is can see the proper time values in database table, but it seems it is being skipped somhow.
    I also tried convetring java.sal.Date to java.uitl.Date using following code format , but still the same results........
    java.util.Date    utilDate = new java.util.Date((resultSet.getDate("CREATION_DATETIME")).getTime();then converted this Date into string using SimpleDateFormt.format() method, but still did not hit the spot :(
    String dateAndTimeAsString = formatter.format(utilDate);Any idea ? how can i achive this .................
    Thanks in advance..........

    You are right, I should have tried it before replying,
    But the thing is for a single line of change in code , it takes nearly an hour to re-build the project (and there is no short cut as code builds so many dependent jars). Hope you can understand. Any way I will give it a try.I glad you got it working.
    You don't necessarily have to re-build your entire application to try something.
    The next time you are in a similar situation try making a little test app that just does what you want to test.

  • How to substract two date&time values

    Well,i just need to substract last visited date&time value from systemdate. The last visited date&time(from the filed named SONBULUNMAZAMANI, ) is selected from table (IHALE_KATILIMCILAR ) in the format DD-MM-RRRR HH24:MI and systemdate is in the same format. And i need to get value in minutes. Then i need to check if the value is greater then 20 minutes, finally i will update database and set IHALE_KATILIMCILAR.AKTIF=0. Here is the code i used;
    DECLARE
    MinDiff number;
    DateTime1 ihale_katilimcilar.sonbulunmazamani%TYPE;
    BEGIN
    select t.sonbulunmazamani into DateTime1 from ihale_katilimcilar t where t.ihlkodu=141 and t.ihlaltktgkodu=132 and t.id_iliski=193;

    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('Difference is ' || MinDiff);
    END;
    However the result i get is always pointed values such as ,1895833333333333333333333333333333333333. How can i handle this?

    What version of SQLServer do you have? Datediff is not an Oracle built-in function.
    OP:
    THe difference between two dates in Oracle is in days. The decimal portion refers to partial days, so you need to convert that to the required precision. Also, both sysdate and your column are date type, and contain a time portion, so you do not need all the to_date/to_char stuff. Something like:
    SQL> SELECT end_dt, start_dt, (end_dt - start_dt) * 24*60 diff
      2  FROM (SELECT sysdate end_dt, TRUNC(sysdate) start_dt
      3        FROM dual);
    END_DT             START_DT                 DIFF

    sounds more like Bluetooth rather than moue, but w/o knowing w/o posting mac model type/year we... will... not... know... what you have
    All computers are personal computers, a PC though is also "non-Apple" in common usage.
    Mac also is platform and OS.
    Very confused reading what you are trying to tell us.

  • Wait ms Timer Multiple returning inaccurate timer value

    We are using the Wait Until Next ms Multiple Timer value to set the interval that data is recorded to a file. Because of Windows 2000 time indeterminancy, the Wait Until Next ms Multiple Timer value is written to file, along with the data point, and is used to calculate the derivative between two successive points. With a delay of 1 sec (1000 ms), the actual interval ranges from 1025 to 1035 ms. At several (random!) points during the acquisition, the difference between successive ms values is considerably smaller than 1000 ms (e.g. 15-25 ms). The following difference compensates for the previous error e.g. the difference will be 2025-2055ms. The data that we are recording is a smoothly continuou
    s function and it appears that the sample is actually recorded at approximately 1000 plus ms. Thus it appears that the Wait Until Next ms Multiple waits the appropriate amount of time to record the data point, but outputs an erroneous ms timer value. We added a ms Timer function to the VI, which also experienced a similar glitch. This glitch does not correspond to the wraparound point; it occurs at approximately 60 to 130 sec intervals. We took the timing code only (no data acquisition, etc) and created a VI that wrote just the time values to a file. This is attached, along with the generated data in a spreadsheet. This consistently executed every 1000 ms but occasionally confused the intervals by 1-57 ms. The pattern was reversed from the previous problem by having a long interval and then a short interval. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

    Agree completely but why can't LV provide access to the windows multimedia
    timer like LabWindows does? Provide me a timer, I can start/stop by changing
    its properties and run that in a separate thread. Obviously if I have
    another thread starving this timer thread, it won't help much but using
    multi-media timer, I have seen very good results on a windows2000 machine.
    Now win95/98 and derivatives are all other story.

  • How to do calculation on time value?

    I have "Duration" as a column in a source excel file which contain data like 00:00:06,00:01:10  when i connect this excel to lumira i am getting the column data as [$-5400]12:00:06\AM
    please specify how to perform certain calculation on time value like sum or avg.

    I'm struggling to think of examples of this kind of data 00:00:06,00:01:10
    so i suspect this formatting will be troublesome..if Lumira can't handle this using advanced acquisition properties, then it might be an idea to split it before coming into lumira .
    regards,
