Timer problem??help?

Hi
i have a 12 record db block on a form with 10 items but only four are text items..when the form runs the cursor automatically comes to the first of the four text items..
i want to create a repeating timer that will do some job on expiry, my requiremtn is to that if the mouse cursor is in the first two of the four text items then the timer should be activated otherwise it should be deactivated...

timer_id TIMER;
OneSec CONSTANT NUMBER := 1000;
BEGIN
timer_id := CREATE_TIMER('timer_name,OneSec,REPEAT);
END;
what code on which trigger and at which level i need to put to achieve this ..

Hello,
You could create the timer in a When-New-Item-Instance on the item you want, and kill the timer in a Post-Text-Item trigger.
