Tiny url generation

I have a very long urls generated in my application. is there way in within APEX, to generate a tiny url out of the long url?. any ideas are appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Surya

If you're referring to the long urls generated by APEX I would also love to have
a way from apex to define some shortcuts, maybe more meaningful than
the ones created by tinyurl.
so instead of giving out something like
/f?p=13:2:::::params,params,params:values,values,values
maybe
/f?my_app
and map this from inside apex
or what about
my_app/page_name/f
or having some mapping mechanisms like in the JEE servlet mapping, linking urls to apex calls.
Maybe it's already there and I didn't see it in the doc...

  • Application Group URL generation - config steps required

    Hi
    We have ECC6 and using Erecruitment release 603.
    I am seeking guidance on how to generate application group URLs ie the configurations steps required in order for the URL to be generated.
    many thanks
    Julie

    Hello Julie,
    basically the generation of URLs for application groups does not need any special configuration. It simply works without any settings. Only configuration which might effect the generation is the general requirement that the full qualified domain name must be set in system parameter icm/host_name_full for every e-rec server. Furthermore you can use table HTTPURLLOC to overwrite e-rec generated URLs for replacing internal server names. But both should not influence the URL generation in general.
    I referred to the reference code generation as this is (in sap standard) only possible for requisitions. The button for the generation is placed on view pinstDetails.bsp of BSP application hrrcf_pinst_mnt which is the detail view for publication maintenance in requisitions. The application group container sequence uses the view status.bsp of BSP application HRRCF_APPL_GRP. This view contains 3 fields reference code, status and the field to display the generated URL. If there is a button for the reference code generation or the view is completely different someone either included the wrong view in the container sequence or someone modified it.
    So first step should be to check if you are on the correct unmodified view.
    Could you please check if this and give a message about your result?
    Many Thanks
    Roman

  • Navigation (URL generation): is there general information?

    Hello people,
    is there any good documentation regarding the whole navigation/url-generation thing in PCUI? What I found in PCUI book is not very helpful.
    How do all the customizing transactions in crmc_blueprint_c-->navigation(url creation) fit together?
    How is it related to events (crmc_blueprint_c>application elements>events)? How does it relate to iViews and portal-roles?
    and to be more specific: in application for contact person, in tab page activities, how can i make the activity description a hyperlink to the activity application?
    thanks
    Andreas

    Hello Gregor,
    thanks for your advice!
    I already knew your blog, but the tracing functionality was new to me.
    My issue is still not solved; the activity-id is not linked by standard (at least it doesnt work), and this is exactly what i want to change, to make the activity-id (Vorgangs-ID) a hyperlink.
    If you have time, maybe you could please answer again?
    I'm dealing with the fieldgroup ACC_ACT_PROCESSTPYE, screen position 20
    Fieldname: OBJECT_ID
    Field type: input field
    Object-Link section::
    URL-type: portal-link
    Object-type: BUSINESSACTIVITYCRM
    Field Name-->Object Type: <blank>
    Method: APPLICATION
    Field Name --> Method: <blank>
    Field --> Object ID: OBJECT_KEY
    The definitions for Navigation(URL generation) are correct, also.
    I don't know what else could be wrong...
    thanks in Advance

  • URL Generation / ICF Trees

    Hi everyone,
    I have some problems with the generation of URLS in SE 80 when creating BSP Pages.
    For testing purposes we created an own service in SICF under the default host in the top level (parallel to the sap tree). In addition to that we copied the structure to the bsp services.
    So now we have a tree /sap/bc/bsp/sap
    and a tree /myTree/bc/bsp/sap
    When we create a new BSP Page the URL generated in SE80 is:
    http(s)://server:port/myTree/bc/bsp/blablabla
    but the corresponding service is located under
    /sap/bc/bsp/blablabla.
    Unfortunately, also the url:
    http(s)(s)://server:port/sap/bc/bsp/blabla is
    working, too.
    So we wonder how the URLs in SE80 are generated and why a path / URL
    that does not exist in SICF is working.
    Anyone an idea?
    Thanx and regards
    Jochen

    Hi Jochen,
    You can refer to similar weblog by Brian. This may be helpful to you.

  • URL generation of Change Own Data Photo

    Hello,
    The URL for employee photo under ESS "CHANGE OWN DATA" application is getting generated via FM HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_PHOTO_URI.
    This FM is returning the URL as http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/contentserver........
    Now the <server> in the above url points to the ECC server url. This ECC serevr url is NOT accessible over intenet for our environment. Becaus of this photo is NOT visible over internet though the same is working fine within our INTRANET.
    We want to change the <server> url with the webdidpsatcher url so that the final url that will be returned by the FM will be
    http://<webdispatcher>/sap/bc/contentserver.......
    Can anyone please suggest where exactly we need to make the setiings for this. Do we have to modifty the FM itself OR this can be done through configuration?
    Regards
    Deb

    It seems that it is something to look into the entries in the table
    HTTPURLLOC. Please can you check the url here?
    The URL is generated from the FM HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_PHOTO_URI,
    So check it from here correct URL is generated or not
    Please review documentation :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/59/31ae42e0fac911e10000000
    a1550b0/frameset.htm
    Please review below SAP Notes :
    1033071
    685521
    Please also check the attached note 712330.
    Also take a look at notes 1094976 and 1289938 too.
    You would need to do the repository settings in order to enable https
    communication. Kindly follow the below steps for your photo repository:
    1. Go to transaction OAC0 and select the repository
    2. In edit mode, type %https in the command field for advanced settings.
    3. Now select "HTTPS required" from the dropdown for both HTTPS on
    frontend and HTTPS on backend. Save the settings.
    Please also refer the notes 712330,712332.
    Currently we generate a HTTPS URL to acces the photo to the R/3 system.
    But since there is no https service active in
    R3, we do not get any response and thus no photo is displayed.
    You can check services available in R/3 system using transaction SMICM
    and usingn menu path Goto-> services. . I did see HTTPS service
    activated this is correct.
    Maintain an entry in the table HTTPURLLOC with following details:
    protocol: https
    host: <web despatcher host name>
    port: <web despatcher port number>
    This will ensure that the URL will be generated to web despatcher and
    not backend and if the HTTPS service is active in Web Despatcher, then
    we will get the  response and photo will be displayed.

  • URL generation-PDF

    Hi,
    I have consolidated 10 sub reprots into one main report and generated the report in PDF format.My users want to see the report output as a URL link. I mean once the PDF file has been generated is it possible to give a link to the users where they can run the URL to see the output of my report.
    Note: Apart from the URL is there any way to share the report to the users, except sending the report to their mail-ids...
    I would appreciate all your help.
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Satya

    Hi Satya
    It is possible for the users to view the report through URL reporting.
    You will have to generate the URL for the specific report and run the URL through the browser.
    Please let us know if you need any further information.

  • Content Server URL Generation expiration parameter

    Hello,
    I'm using a content server to store documents. When i need to retrieve files, the expiration parameter on the URL is automaticaly set to 1 day .
    Where i can change that? Is it possible?
    Regards,
    Joao

    Hi,
    are you sure that it's 1 day. The default value should be 2 hours. I remember that I couldn't find how to change this default value. There is a FM SCMS_URL_SIGN which signs URL for content server. You can see there that it has an option to set expiration to any value or set duration. The default duration is hard coded to 2 hours. I quickly checked some of FMs which call SCMS_URL_SIGN and it looks like nobody sets up these two optional parameters. You can try to use enhancement framework to modify behavior of this FM.

  • NAC 4.7 CAS web login page url generation

    We have had third part certs generated for the CAS and the CAM and these have installed OK, along with the relevant root and intermediate certificates, and the CAS/CAM are communicating fine.
    However when a user is redirected to the authentication page, the url generated is using the CN from the certificate..
    https://al-nac.sitename.local.companyname.co.uk/auth/perfigo.......etc.
    However the machine cannot resolve the url.
    We cannot add dns entries for this url, we only administer the sitename.local domain.
    Is there a way for the CAS to request the user to access a URL via an IP address?
    If I requested a new certificate, but use the IP address instead of the machine name, would the auhentiation page be referenced by this?
    Regards
    Tony

    I'll give our certificate issuer a call this morning,however I'm sure they mentioned in the past they need a resolvable name to generate the certificate?
    As when we asked for certificates for al-nam.sitename.local they have been unable to generate them, hence the CN=al-nac.sitename.local.company.co.uk
    Is this the same for generating certificates against IP addresses?

  • URL generation - Https and JSR 168

    We have some JSR 168 complaint portlets that are working fine under http. However,
    when we switch to https (with a webserver front-end), the edit button functionality
    generates incorrect urls. It tries to use http and then append port 443. These
    urls do not work with the web server front-end.
    I know all urls for JPF portlets etc are controlled through the url-template-config.xml
    file, but it seems that the JSR 168 portlets do not use this file. Any idea what
    these portlets use and what configuration change I could make to resolve this
    issue?
    Thanks

    Hi Subbu -
    I have modified the template to use relative paths - maybe that will solve my
    issue. Here is my modified template.

    Hi Kunal,
    In WLP, all portlets rely on url-templates-config.xml to create URLs.
    The edit button is independent of the type of the portlet you are using.
    For Java portlets, could you make sure you have the following snippet
    in
    this file:
    <java-portlet-url-templates>
    <url-template-ref type="action" name="portlet-default"/>
    <url-template-ref type="secure-action" name="portlet-default"/>
    <url-template-ref type="resource" name="portlet-default"/>
    <url-template-ref type="secure-resource" name="portlet-default"/>
    </java-portlet-url-templates>
    </url-template-config>
    where the name of the template should be mapped to one of the templates
    defined in this file.
    If you still face issues with this, please post the templates specified
    in this file so that I can take a look. Also, let me know if you are
    using GA or SP2.

  • I use tiny.cc to make tiny URLs, and Firefox is giving me this message for the website or any of my previous links: "Disallowed Key Characters."

    Tiny.cc worked previously. I have updated my firefox to latest version, but it still doesn't work. As I OFTEN have to shrink a link to use in a tweet, this is very distressing, and although I've searched and searched, I cannot find a solution. (Other than to open safari, which is a PITA. and eew.)

    Make sure that you haven't included HTML or other code if you copy text from a web page to the clipboard.
    You can check that via the right-click context menu and choose "View Selection Source".

  • Pageflow URL Generation Problem

    All,
    I am trying to create a simple PageFlow controller that re-directs to other PageFlows [essentially Navigational type control]. In any even the page looks like the following:
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
    <%@taglib uri="http://beehive.apache.org/netui/tags-html-1.0" prefix="netui"%>
