Tips on converting 1.0 extension to 1.1

Folks,
Are there any references (web or otherwise) showing how to convert an extension written for SQL Developer 1.0 to SQL Developer 1.1?
regards
Simon

I didn't mean "Check for Updates". What I meant was I have the source code for an open source extension to SQL Developer 1.0 and want to know how to convert it to 1.1. As I understand things, the extension API changed between 1.0 and 1.1.
I have JDeveloper Studio and the source code of the extension but I am not familiar with JDeveloper Studio and would like some simple to understand steps that could help guide me through converting the existing source code from the 1.0 to 1.1 extension api.
For example, the 1.0 extension uses:
import oracle.dbtools.raptor.controls.cellrenderers.CellRenderingFactory;
yet I can no longer find this jar file or what its replacement may be if it was something only the 1.0 extension API used....
Any help appreciated.
regards
Simon

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install (Acrobat XI)

When I installed Acrobat XI, the Chrome extension to convert webpages to PDF does not install or appear in Chrome. I tried repair installation from Help menu of Acrobat, it still did not resolve the question. The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering its deactivated.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Cheers

I think there might be some confusion about what you are asking since I think that the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension is only available for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11) and I don't think that you will find it in the version 10 directory (although I could be mistaken since I do not have version 10).  One you update to the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11), and also apply the latest updates to Google Chrome, then the extension should be enabled.  I am running Google Chrome version 33 and have Adobe Acrobat Pro version 11.0.6.70 and the extension works alright for converting basic webpages.  The Adobe installation directory that contains a copy of the extension depends on your operating system and installation and whether or not you have a 64-bit machine.  For example I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I was able to find a copy of the "WCChromeExtn.crx" extension file in the directory:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Browser\WCChromeExtn"
On the other hand if you are asking how to install the "WCChromeExtn.crx" Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension without updating Adobe Acrobat Pro, that is a much more advanced procedure.  If you have Windows 7 typically certain file types and locations that will not be indexed so you may not find what you are looking for with Windows search.  That is why someone suggested using a third party search indexer to find the extension file.  Another person suggested extracting the file from the Adobe update, and I also think that is the way to go.  However the method that was described previously is very complicated and uses a lot of unnecessary scripting for what you really need.  I propose that you download the latest update directly from Adobe and then extract the extension from the update file.  Here's how to do that in Windows:
    1. Download the latest update file from Adobe (e.g. "AcrobatUpd11006.msp")
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
    2. If you are interested in some background on Windows Installer files, check out these links and read about MSP files and extracting resources, otherwise go to the next step:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/basics.html#installer-file-ty pes
    http://www.jsware.net/jsware/msicode.php5
    3. Rename the incremental update MSP file extension to CAB (e.g. from "AcrobatUpd11006.msp" to "AcrobatUpd11006.cab")
    4. Use an archive utility such as WinRAR, WinZip, or 7-Zip to open the CAB file and extract the "WCChromeExtn.crx" CRX extension file
    5. Drag and drop the extension CRX file onto open Google Chrome window extension page to install and configure (chrome://extensions/)
There are some other forum topics and a blog post that deals with some installation issues with the Google Chrome extension:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1332770
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1165998
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tip-google-chrome-the-adobe-acrobat-create-pdf-extension/
    http://blogs.adobe.com/acrobat/tag/chrome/
I hope that this might help you with getting the extension installed.
I currently am having some issues with the Adobe Acrobat Create PDF extension for Google Chrome when I try to convert secure https webpages, the output of the PDF converter does not retain my logon information, and does not convert the secure webpage.  The resulting output of the converted https webpage is either a logon screen or a blank pdf with only the URL listed at the bottom.  I hope that this might get fixed with an update or if anyone else might know of a workaround or solution.  Thanks.

  • Convert PDF Chrome extension does not appear/install for Acrobat 10 Pro

I have Acrobat 10 Pro and the Chrome extension to convert web pages to PDF does not appear in Chrome.  I tried repair installation from the Help menu in Acrobat and it still did not resolve this problem.  The extension also does not appear on the extension list, in case you're wondering if it's deactivated.  I am using Chrome Version 36.0.1985.143 m.
I would appreciate the links and steps I need to take in order to get the Adobe Convert to Webpage Chrome extension to be visible and functional on my Chrome toolbar and in my extensions list. The PDFMaker shows up in Internet Explorer.  I do not use Firefox.
I have already tried disabling all of my other Chrome extensions and run a repair of Acrobat via Actions.
I tried uninstalling Google Chrome, restarted my computer, downloaded the latest Chrome installer, installed Chrome, and launched Acrobat and repair Acrobat.
I'm totally at a loss at this point.
    Can you please help?
Thank you for your kind assistance!

  • Tips for converting Brio 6.6 jobs to Hyperion 9.3 Interactive job ?

I'm converting a number of Brio 6.6 jobs to Hyperion 9.3. Most are pretty simple but there are a couple that have almost 80 "Cycles and Actions ". The different cycles are mostly the same. The only difference is in the parameter and the output file name. Any tips for simplfying this? I have the BQY, but it is there is a way to "export" the Brio job and then "import" that job into Hyperion? If I have a query that needs to be run with 80 different parameters and each parameter needs its own report, is my only option to create 80 cycles? Can I have 1 cycle, but tell Hyperion to create a different output file for each parameter?
    Thanks

  • Tips on Converting from 5 to 8?

We are currently using RoboHelp 5, our projects are all
WebHelp projects, and they are all in RoboSource Control (RSC). Our
corporate office purchased licenses for us to move to RoboHelp 8.
Any suggestions on the best way to proceed?
As a precaution, we are planning to keep one of our RH5
licenses installed on a standalone PC and move copies of the
project out of RSC to that PC. Our initial attempts to move the
projects out of RSC using RH5's remove project from RSC option have
not been successful. Even with the folders renamed, the projects
still open as if they are in source control. Two questions here.
First, do you think this precaution is necessary? Second, if it is,
any suggestions on removing projects from RSC?
Does RH8 convert projects that are already in RSC?
One of our other companies converted from RH6 to RH8 and
experienced issues with losing styles. Our projects use customized
skins and customized .css pages. One of the customizations to the
skins was provided on this forum years ago; we added a print tab
with the option to print a WebHelp topic. Will RH8 convert the
    skins and css pages?
After we install RH8, will we still be able to work with our
projects in RH5 as long as we haven't converted the individual
    projects to RH8?
    Thanks!

    Hi there
Making a backup is simple. Open Windows Explorer and make a copy of the project folder. Place the copy in a different location. Network server, Thumb drive, CD/DVD, etc.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Tip for converting AVI w/divx & DVDs to iPod

As many others here have done, I purchased QuickTime Pro to use as a conversion tool to get various videos into my iPod. As I quickly found out, QuickTime Pro for Windows (QTPW) is pretty lame. It can't handle the Divx video codec used in some AVI files. I got around this by downloading the 3ivx.com codec, but the audio still wouldn't work. This is because QTPW doesn't handle MP3 audio encoded at a variable bitrate - which is quite common in AVI files also. Running the file through two programs is too much of a pain, so I'm giving up on QTPW for now.
I found another program that so far is working quite well. It is called "Cucusoft iPod video converter + DVD to iPod Suite". Its working well on my AVI files with DIVX video. I haven't tried it yet on DVDs. You can find this software for free eval download at: http://www.goripper.com/dvd-to-ipod-guide.html
    Good luck!
      Windows XP

    Download Handbrake from http://handbrake.m0k.org/
This will allow you to rip the video from the DVD to your computer and you can select the settings you want for use either full screen on the computer or optimized for the IPod. Select your DVD and handbrake will read the chapters. Under the Destination section Select your File format as MP4 file, then AVC/H.264 Video / AAC Audio Codec. Either change the location of the file or leave the default setting. For the Video section leave the framerate to Same as source, the encoder needs to be x264 (Baseline profile), the max bitrate that has worked for me was 750 the iPod can do 768 but it doesn't seem to work correctly when selecting 768, I reccoment using 2-pass encoding, it makes the file better quality but it takes twice as long to encode, although it shouldn't be a problem on you Intel iMac, it still goes pretty well on my DP G5. If you want subtitles select the language. For Audio under Language 1 you can use any of the settings that are available from the DVD, I have never turned on Language 2 so not sure what it would do. Sample rate can be as high as 48000 that is the max the program has and the iPod will accpet. The iPod's max bit rate is 160. I got all the info for the iPod's specs from Apple's website. Click on Picture settings change the Size to 320x240 or whatever is close for wide screen video. I usually turn off Keep aspect ratio after I change the size settings. It said on a website I found that there was a bug in Handbrake that it might crash if this was on. I leave the other settings the way they are. Close the window and select Rip. Then just put the movie into iTunes and sync it to your iPod. It will then go into the Movies folder on your iPod. Hope this works for you.

  • Converting wpd file extension to pdf

I just purchased Acrobat 9 Standard.  Let me first say... I have never used this product, so hopefully no one gets frustrated with me.  I'm learning.
I have probably 200 forms in WordPerfect [wpd] format that I want to convert to pdf, but when I attemp to open the document I get this message:
"Acrobat could not open 'name of the file.wpd' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).  To creat an Adobe PDF document, go to the sourse application.  The print the document to Adobe PDF".
I have used these files for years.  I am not sure what this means?  Someone please help.  I hope I didn't waste my money on software that can not do what I need it to do.  Oh yeah, if I convert the wpd file to doc I will open up in Acrobat and convert, but it messes up the format, margins, etc. of most of my documents.

Have to admit I really did not understand that error message, but you telling me to just follow those 2 sentences was very helpful.  I opened the wpd in WordPerfect, selected File>Publish To>PDF and it automatically saved it in my folder directory.  Thanks a lot.  Later today I will be asking how to convert files to fillable files and/or creating a new fillable form.

  • ArchWiki Gnome Tips! Convert svg icons to png?

Hey, I was reading this ArchWiki page,
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GNOME_Tips
    and I came across this:
"Due to an improper coded GNOME drawing library, some actions in GNOME can slow the system. If the theme icons are in SVG format, they make the system slower. A very fast improvement is to either use icons in PNG format or to convert the used icons into the PNG format."
This is however all that is said there.
I would like to know a few things:
    a) Is this comment only valid for older versions of Gnome, or is it still valid? [I am running the fully upgraded Gnome as is available in the repositories.]
    b) Are we talking about substantial performance increase here or is just tweaking for the heck of it? [Even though I love that a lot myself, but this is for information. ]
    c) I have no idea, how to convert svg icon libraries to png. So if we decide that it is indeed beneficial to be doing this, it would be great if someone could redirect me to how to change these svg icons to the png format.
Thanks a lot for the help [apprehended! ]

hey I just thought of another question, because I converted my svg icons to png using lolilolicon's method!
    d) how to i tell gnome to use those icons instead of the svg icons. where and what settings do i have to change for this to be possible?

  • How to convert .tod extension files

how to convert .tod extension files for use in final cut pro

    DLewis from rocklin wrote:
Unfortunately you can not convert .TOD file extensions for Final Cut Pro to use.  The .TOD is something proprietary that JVC used a few years ago.  The best thing to use is MPEG Streamclip and convert the .TOD files to a Quicktime file using the AIC codec from the convert settings in the MPEG Streamclip program.
Good advice, except for the AIC codec part. The native codec for FCP X is ProRes. Use ProRes 422.
(AIC was used by FCE and is still used by iMovie; while you can use it with FCP X, it is not the preferred codec).

  • Chrome Extension Converted & Installed Successful - but will not open.

    Used the following service:
    http://gallery.extensionfactory.com/labs/conversion/
I have tried both installation methods for the smart waiver extensions.
    1. Using the smart waiver extension code as listed in the Chrome store
    nkbhdpobafkjcgbnfoglpgemhhlbaleg
    2. Downloading and converting the CRX extension file
In both instances, I was able to convert to Firefox compatibility, and it even installed in the add ons extensions area for Firefox. However, the icon to open the extension does not show.
    I've already tried the following:
    1. making sure the add-on tool bar was checked
    2. Customizing the toolbar, but the icon didn't show
    3. Restoring defaults int he customizing toolbar, icon still did not show
    4. Restore firefox to defaults
    5. Checked that I wasn't in a security or privacy setting that would disallow the task
So I'm at a loss - I've tried other Chrome extensions to test. I've converted them successfully, and got them into the same add-on extension screen installed in firefox. But no way to open the extension, and the icons are never recognized.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help, as this is important for my business.

  • New open-source build tool for CS Extensions

I just released a new open-source tool for creating, compiling, debugging, packaging, and deploying extensions:
    https://github.com/creativemarket/csxs
    At a Glance:
All project settings live in a single JSON file (not multiple XML files).
Compiles CS5 & CS6 versions and packages them as a single ZXP. This is useful for supporting "DarkNormal" and "DarkHover" icons without ditching CS5 compatibility on your extension. It also supports other / more complicated configurations.
Created projects contain boilerplate for re-skinning on UI change along with fixes for platform bugs.
    Generates aggregated changelogs.
    Automated deploys to S3.
    Automated git version tagging.
    Conditional compilation variables (CONFIG::debug, CONFIG::release, CONFIG::version).
    Usage:
    csxs create
    csxs debug --cs-product=photoshop --cs-version=5.5
    csxs package
    csxs deploy
I'd love feedback, suggestions, forks, bug reports, etc!
p.s. I really hope this doesn't come across as spammy—I mean it with the best intentions. I think it could be useful for some out there. More tools for the CS ecosystem is a win for all.
"We encourage you to contribute content, answer questions, or comment with corrections, clarifications, tips, and more. Links to your favorite resources or expert videos could help other community members."
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2325

Great tool, thanks a lot for sharing it.
Installed it and built "Hello, world" extension, now trying to convert my existing extension project for this. Packaging CS5 / CS6 versions alone is priceless.
Maybe a dumb question, but is it possible to switch .json and output name in command line? I have extension with 5 different versions, they have different licenses etc., so it would be great to type
    csxs package config1.json extension1.zxp
    csxs package config2.json extension2.zxp
and so on? I'd put it all into one .sh script
sorry if it's all already available and I just missed this part in documentation

    @daguerratype
The Spatial Conform is one of the things I tried. Unfortunately none of its settings fixed the aspect ratio. When I choose "Fit", it simply shows it as 4:3 and leaves left and right black borders on a 16:9 timeline. When I choose "Fill", it zooms the 4:3 video and chops off the top and bottom parts.
    @Thomas Emmerich
This is a decent workaround. Fortunately my clips are named in such a way that I can easily drop them all in the timeline and do a Command-F (Find) to search by clip name, highlight all of them in the search results, then use the Inspector to modify the properties of all the clips at once. I have to change X-scale to 133% and Spatial Conform to "Fit", and now at least it fits the 16:9 timeline properly.
Thanks to both replies. I still hope Apple adds a way to fix the clip in the Event browser so that I don't have to do this workaround.

  • How to convert garage band mp3 to mp4a for iBooks Author

I wanted to share a quick and easy tip for converting mp3 audio fiiles done in Garage Band for a book in iBooks Author. SImply click  on the mp3 podcast and drag it into Quick Time Player and when the audio file comes up in Quick Time, export the file. The export will convert the audio podcast into the mp4a format required by iBooks Author. This file can be dragged into the media box provided by the Widget. Simple, easy.  I am getting ready to publish a book of 70 podcasts.

Jeanette... I believe you are talking about an M4A file (also know as AAC). MP4 files files are what Apple used to use in the iTUnes Store and are DRM (digital rights management). Being that iBooks Author only accepts M4A, it is what's you want to use.
If you have iTunes, you can use it to convert an MP3 to an M4A very easily. here is a YouTube tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7nZRjg7zMw
