Title of the page

Since the flex Builder is creating all the package needed to
publish to the web site, it must exists a method to transmit the
TITLE that should appear in the BROWSER. This title is usually put
as this in the HTML page:
<body>
<head>
<title>The title is going here</title>
Of course we can force the entry in the
/bin/nameofthepagethatcontaintheFLexFlashapplication.html but since
this page is regenerated every time we need to modify something in
the Flex application, I assume there is another method to create
the title directly from the Flex application. I am looking for that
method (this one is very difficult to find from the NET).
Thank you for any help.

Alright, you will find the three method I tried to make it
work but it does not show anything!!! :-(
*** Method 1
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="
http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="absolute"
initialize="initApplication();"
pageTitle="Dashboard"
>
*** Method 2 (I tried to put the pageTitle in the CSS of the
Flex's page)
Application
pageTitle:'Dashboard";
Not a good one!!!
*** Method 3 (I tried to put the method in my init function)
[Bindable]
private var myApplicationTitle:String;
private function initApplication():void {
myApplicationTitle = "Dashboard";
Application.application.pageTitle = myApplicationTitle;
[other code...]
I did not found why it did not displays the title but I can
agree it is the method to use as I confirmed your response,

  • How to create links that guide you to a specific title on the page and not the beginning of the page?

    I'm trying to create links so that when you click on a title in the table of contents it guides you to the title on the specific page. However, when I do that it always sends me to the beginning of the page even if the title is in the bottom. Anyone knows how to do if I want to get to the title and not to the beginning of the page? When I use Finereader it create links from the table of contents automatically and those links send me to the title no mater where it is on the page. I've tried do edit the settings to look like those links created in Finereader but it doesn't work.
    I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI on a Mac Book Air.

    In you first query you can only have 1 column listed in your subselect, used ResourceID.

  • Help Wih adding a Title to the Page

    Hi - I am trying to give each page a title in the tool bar
    where it should allow a title to be put. Dreamweaver 8 will not
    allow me to add a title and just removes it. I created a template
    that all of the pages are based on and i have inserted the code as
    below. I am not a web designer and have no knowledge of html and
    this has been put together with trail and error. If anyone can help
    resolve this i would be most appreciated.

    Using Frames? You must set the title tag's value in the

  • Why the extra space after an h3 title on the page?

    I am somewhat a newbie and I am working on a webpage for a
    lady. She wants me to remove the extra space below the title and I
    have it set as an h3 tag. The title is at the top, "eMarketing -
    Standing out in the In-Box"... and then there is this big space
    below it. Why? I have the title set as h3 and the rest as a
    paragraph. This is in a table so the h3 tag is on one row and
    immediately to the next row is the paragraph tag. How can I remove
    this extra space to bring the content up underneath the title?

  • Why do I have two title bars - one with the title of the page I'm looking at and another with the new orange drop down menu? Plus I can't get FF4 to save my tabs, even when I go to about:config, why is that?

    I downloaded FF4, thinking that it would merely update from my previous installation, but all my tabs were gone. FF looks really weird - here is a link to a picture of it: http://tinypic.com/r/2mwdus4/7 - I have two title bars, my bookmarks toolbar is missing and the tabs are on the bottom. If I go to view => toolbars and click one of them, suddenly the second title bar (with the orange menu) disappers and my bookmarks toolbar comes back (even if I don't click on it in "view"). I can't get the browser to remember my tabs between sessions even though I set it to remember them in my settings. I even changed the browser.showQuitWarning to true in about:config, but it didn't work. What is going on?

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Table of contents - title creates automatic page break

    I want the title "Table of Contents" to appear above the automatically generated Table of Contents in pages.  The TOC covers 3 pages (it's a long document) and I've formatted it and am happy. However, the title for the page which reads "Table of Contents" makes the TOC jump down to another page leaving the title on an otherwise blank page.  I have tried re-typing the title, ensuring no page breaks are on the page. I've deleted the TOC and reinserted it at the appropriate place etc. But it keeps jumping down and starting on a new page.  Any advice appreciated. I want to the keep the title "Table of Contents" on the same page as the table of contents themselves.

    I am having the exact same issue. Long ToC (3 pages), but cannot place a simple headline above it. It automatically breaks the pages and starts on a new page. Any ideas people?
    Please see the picture below. I cannot find a way to narrow down that gap between headline and ToC.
    Cheers Phil

  • Title of a page

    The name of a particular page is stored in the column 'component_attribute' of the object FLOWS_010500.wwv_flow_activity_log. Now, I would like to know where the 'Title' of the page is stored.
    The 'Name' and 'Title' of a page could be different. For example, the name of a page could be 'PG_HOME' while the title could be 'Home'.
    I need this information as my application tries to get the 'title' of each page of several different application.
    Am using version 1.5.1.00.12 of HTMLDB.

    Good luck!

  • Is there a PHP variable that will fetch the TITLE of the file?

    I learned (thanks to David Powers) that you can use $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] to refer to your current URL, which is useful in situations like putting a "Share on Facebook" button on your page.
    However, some of these social networking sites allow you to also put the Article Title in the same button, so I was wondering if there was a PHP variable I can use for *that*. This way, by specifying the title of the article in the aptly-named title tag of the page, I can put those "submit this page to" links as includes that don't need to be specifically-edited for each page.

    Create a variable for the title and use it in both places.
    <?php
    $title = 'Things you always wanted to know about...';
    ?>
    <title><?php echo $title; ?></title>
    // later on
    <?php echo $title; ?>
    Alternatively, if your page content is generated dynamically, you can store the title in the database.
    Another technique would be to base the title on the page name.
    $page = basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'], '.php');
    $title = ucwords(str_replace('_', ' ', $page));
    That would store "About Us" in $title if the page is called about_us.php.

  • Title of Web Page doesn't appear at very top of browser window!

    Running 3.6.8 on Mac OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the name/title of the website I am currently viewing doesn't appear above the address bar.
    For example, for this page (support.mozilla.com/en . . . ), "Ask a Question | Firefox Support" does not show up on the top.
    The title of the page DOES, however, appear in the tabs, but I often don't browse with multiple tabs open on a given browser window.
    I have tried running in safe mode, have disabled all addons/themes etc, but nothing seems to fix the irritating problem.

    I've partially fixed it by making some adjustments and republishing. but I still could not get the reflection to appear with the photo - which left a blank space that threw off the spacing on the page. i've removed the reflection to resolve this.

  • Set browser window title in template page

    Hi,
    How I can set the window title in template page ?
    I know how to do it in regular page:
    <af:document id="d1" title="Dashboard">
    But in template I don't have a document tag.
    so I added this before the <af:form> :
    <html>
    <head>
    <title> My title </title>
    </head>
    </html>
    But the problem is that I want to insert in the title something like that:
    title="#{generalPage.serverName}"
    Any ideas how can i do it ?
    Thanks

    You don't set the title in the template, you set the title in the page that is based on the template.
    There you will have the af:document tag.

  • Title of the pageLayout region

    Hi,
    I have a page layout and under that, i have many messagecomponentlayouts. Somehow the title of the page which i have given in the pagelayout title property is not showing up at the center-top of the page but its showing up in left-top. How can i bring it to the center-top.
    Thanks in advance.

    Displaying heading at the top left corner is BLAF standard.
    Almost all the standard websites follows this rule.
    You can never find an application in Oracle apps with center heading.
    If you still want to do it, leave the title blank in the Pagelayout.
    Include a rawText item in the pagelayout region as first item.
    Put the desired HTML code in rawtext to make it look like Page title.
    You can try different CSS classes too within the item..

  • URL, title etc of webpages do not print on pages printed off internet despite selecting these in header/footers in page set up. How do I get URL etc to print on the page?

    No matter how I try I cannot get the URL of a webpage or other options such as page title, date etc to print if I print up a webpage. I have done the necessary selections in file>page setup>headers & footers choosing the options from the drop downs. I have even tried making top or bottom margin bigger thinking there was not space on the page. This is still the case if I try to print to different printers.
    Is there something I am missing that needs to be done via some other setting or menu item?

    Thanks, this was a good idea to try, however it doesn't seem to have helped.
    I reset:
    print.print_printer
    Also tried resetting:
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footercenter
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footerleft
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footerright
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headercenter;
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headerleft
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headerright
    Closed and restarted the browser.
    I then selected URL in footer right in page setup but still it refuses to show in print preview or print on the page in hard print. It is most peculiar. Any other ideas? Thanks.

  • How to start the page count from second page (first is title)

    Hi all,
    I have been using Livecycle for a little while now and think I have got to grips with quite a bit of it to make some fairly simple interactive forms, but I have started to make more complex forms now and although I am able to work a lot of things out, one thing has stumped me. There are lots of threads about page numbering, but none seem to address my problem: I wish to have a 'page number' on the master page (done that) but I have 2 master pages, one is used for the first page (then not at all) and the second master page is used after that, that is the one with the page count on, that way the page number appears at the bottom on every page, apart from the first one. I need a way for the count to 'skip' the first page (as this is a title page and I do not want that numbered) and start numbering from page two of the form, but have it numbered as page 1.
    So basically the document will be Title page (no numbering), then pages after that of the form, starting from '1' shown on the bottom- it is a dynamic form that may change length as the user adds to it. Is there a script that I need to use, and if so how should I implement it? Any help would be appreciated, apologies if this is not very clear!

    Use the Custom object "Master Page n of m" on the second master page.
