Tlist search problem??help???

Hi,
i have a form on which I have populated a tlist using the following query...the tlist displays the name of students
and its working fine..

now i have a text item below this tlist in which i want to make a search facility...i.e. user types the student name in text-item and then push a button and then if the students name is in the tlist matches the name entered in the text_item the the name is highlighted..if there are more than one matching names in the tlist then the it should highlight the one coming first among mathing ones..
for this i used the following code on when-button-presed trigger..it compiles succesfully but when i run the form and type one of student names it the text item and then press this button then nothing happens..
pls help me to solve this problem...

is there a special reason why you are saying 'tlist' but not 'block.tlist' in your 'COPY .....................' statement?
