To change the image by the title bar.

Hi,
I have been trying to change the existing image in the title of the report.
I tried reducing the image size through paint. And once i add this image in the title, it is showing the cross mark with letters 'LOGO'.

Have you restarted the services after updating your image?
You might have to use below syntax for calling the image
fmap:location/image_name
location->something like
s_oracle/Images
Ex: fmap:Images/newlogo.gif
If this is not helping can you share your screenshot of the Title thru email or any other form.

I checked with the com.sap.portal.navigation.pagetoolbar.par file.I am not getting exactly where to replace the Text with Images.
Please let me know if I am referring to the correct par file and where to make changes.

Hi,
It depends if the WDJ application has made another navigation.
History saves any navigations made by the user (TLN/DTN,etc) or navigation done by applications in code (wdDoNavigate, EPCM.doNavigate).
So it can go back to previous view , or previous iview the user was at...

How to change the color of a title bar

Hello !
I try to change the color from my title bars, but I fail.
I tried to change the activeCaption value to an other colour, but that didn�t work. Currently I use a own LAF and set it with UIManager.setLookAndFeel("dpg.beans.GuiWindowsLookAndFeel");

How to change the image of the favourtie portlet

Can anyone tell me how can I change the image of the favourite
portlet ? I found that I can only change the title text but not
the image. Any clue ?

This is a hard coded image in the 3.0.x releases of Portal.
If you want to change it, the only way you can do it today is to
replace the ml_us.gif file which you will find in
$ORACLE_HOME/portal30/images
This is the image for the US language, there will be one for
each language installed. e.g. ml_f.gif for French.
If you replace that gif file with an image of your own using the
same file name, then yours will be rendered rather than the
default.

Most times when I import photos from my desktop or dropbox to iPhoto, iPhoto will keep the title I created for the image as the display title under the image. but occasionally it displays the filename instead and I have to go back through and reenter

Try this: select one of the photos that are showing the wrong title and use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Title to File Name menu option.
See if that will put the name that you want under the thumbnail.

Removing the minimize button from Title bar...

I have created an desktop application using swing. I dont need minimized button on title bar of the main window. I searched a lot but could not find a solution. Can I get some useful links.

Actually I want if the application is minimized, its state should not changed to iconified but it simple because hidden. And using the tray icon's option if application is open, it simple make the application visible. I did not want the following case which is happening right now.
Case:
1. I Minimized the application
2. My application state becomes the iconified and it becomes hidden (As I have implemented the windowlistener)
3. I used trayicon's Open option (it simply visible the application)
4. Application becomes visible, but it is in iconified state. Because previously its state has been changed due to minimized button.I want whenever the Open option of tray icon is used, application must be visible in Maximized state. That why I also did on action listener of Open option

Sorry, but I don't. Have never used a TV as a monitor. My suggestion was just a thought. Perhaps someone else will have a workable solution.
If the menubar is visible then it may be some adjustment that's needed perhaps on the TV itself which has it's own zoom. If it's set to an incorrect screen mode then it may cut off portions of the display - just a guess. Try switching the display mode on the TV to see if that resolves the problem.
As for the mini itself I'd set it to a resolution mode that most closely corresponds to what the TV can display. If it can display 1080p, then set the mini's display resolution to 1680 x 1050.

Here's How to change the image on the TOC to be different for each chapter.

Suppose you don't follow the Very Strict default Rule that you use the exact same image parameters (shape, pixels, size, etc.) for your Table of Contents image entry as you use for its associated Chapter, a requirement built in to iBooks Author that applies universally to ALL Chapters under the One Image Size and Location is Best For Everyone rule. Suppose you start adding chapters and messing with each chapter's image and then, later, it occurs to you to get the TOC all set up and when you go there you encounter a mess. Either by chance one of the images you had in one of your chapters found its way to the TOC and, gosh, now every TOC entry for every chapter has the very same exact size and location image! This is not part of your grand plan and then... how to make lemonade here? It's Not Obvious.
You can resolve this in your favor. You must do this patiently.
First, whatever image size is created in any chapter TOC window—by dragging the image placeholder handle re-size box—will apply to ALL image entries (i.e., chapter image entries) in the TOC . If you want maximum flexibility make the image placeholder box big. Hint: you may need to mess with the Edit Mask option in order to get the image placeholder size box in the size and location you want. An option here in preparing your images is to **** with Photoshop or Preview to really engineer the images that will be used for the Chapter Page and, separately, the TOC / these could be the same content images but formatted differently in order to look nice in their respective locations. The Chapter Page image can be manipulated on the Chapter Page. On the other hand, the TOC image must fit within whatever (universal) size you've created.
Plan ahead
Get your TOC images ready.
Loop until done:
a) from the Finder menu, right click on the filename of the image to be put in the TOC / select the menu item “Copy”..this image. This puts the image in the clipboard. Another way to get the image in the clipboard is to pull it up with Preview and pretend to crop it (full size) then command-C. Another way: just click on it if it is in a file somewhere and again command-C.
b) Click on the Table of Contents option (near the top of the left navigation column in ibooks Author ) and navigate to the TOC chapter for this image by clicking on the correct chapter “button” (a white dot in a black background surrounded by a white rounded-corner box) in the center bottom of the TOC chapter window;
c) Click on the image placeholder in this chapter TOC window to reveal the highlight boxes defining the boundary of the image;
d)command-V (paste); Voila! the image is in the TOC. NOTE: dragging the image into the highlighted imagebox (see c) above) will NOT work.
e) mess with the image by clicking the mask editor button so the image fits as desired being careful to move the image only and not resize the image box.
Go back to loop and repeat.

Adding background image to portlet title bar

Hi,
Does anyone know how to add a background image to a portlet title bar. I have tried using the LAF editor but nothing seems to work. The image will be static and not change.

Hi Chris
You have to modify the .css file depending on the type of Skin you are using like "default" or "bighorn" in case of 10.x and 9.x etc. Best thing is to install Firebug for Firefox and inspect the Titlebar in firebug. That should tell exactly which .css file and which element in that .css file is used to render the Portlet Title bar.
For "default" skin, the file is window.css and the element in this file is ".bea-portal-window-titlebar" with background-color: #XXXXXX. Replace this or add another field like background-image: url(your image path). This window.css file can be found under WebContent\framework\skins\default\css\window.css. Remember that in 9.x and 10.x to see this file from Workshop IDE, you need to switch view to Merged Projects and select this file and copy this to your project to view it. BUT, I would not recommend to modify any out of box .css file. Instead create a new file custom.css file and add entries in this file which you want to overwrite. This is the standard way to customize any out of box skins look and feel. So in your custom.css file your will have one entry like this:

For "bighorn" skin introduced in 9.x and 10.x, the elements in .css files are slighty different but the concept is same. I customized out of box bighorn skin to change background color of portlet title bar. The .css location for portlet title bar for bighorn skin is: WebContent\framework\skins\bighorn\css\colors.css and the element is ".wlp-bighorn-titlebar". For quick testing from Firebug, inspect this element and change the background color to something else and see if it reflects in Firefox. Then you can create custom.css file under same folder structure in your portal web project and over write this element and this field alone with the background-image that you want something like:

background-image:url(your image path);
It is highly recommended to have all customizations go into custom.css file only. Please make sure that you have this custom.css file entry in the skin.xml file (in case of bighorn) or skin.properties file (in case of old legacy default skin). This .xml or .properties file can be found under same folder structure like: WebContent\framework\skins\yourSkin. For new bighorn skin.xml file this custom.css file entry is already there. But for old legacy default skin you may need to add this entry.

Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
If you want to back up the Photos only:
Export them using the File -> Export command.

Hi, I would like to know how can i break the value for a row and column once i have converted the image to the array. I wanted to make some modification on the element of the array at a certain position. how can i do that?
At the moment (as per attachhment), the value of the new row and column will be inserted by the user. But now, I want to do some coding that will automatically insert the new value of the row and the column ( I will use the formula node for the programming). But the question now, I don't know how to split the row and the column. Is it the value of i in the 'for loop'? I've tried to link the 'i' to the input of the 'replace subset array icon' , but i'm unable to do it as i got some error.
Please help me!

I manage to change the array element by changing the row and column value. But, what i want is to allow the program to change the array element at a specified row and column value, where the new value is generated automatically by the program.
Atatched is the diagram. I've detailed out the program . you may refer to the comments in the formula node. There are 2 arrays going into the loop. If a >3, then the program will switch to b, where if b =0, then the program will check on the value of the next element which is in the same row with b but in the next column. But if b =45, another set of checking will be done at a dufferent value of row and column.
I hope that I have made the problem clear. Sorry if it is still confusing.

How do I make all of the images of the icons show in Safari Favorites?

I am running the Yosemite Safari and when I click the Favorites bar some of the links don't have the images (look at attached photo). How can I make the image for the website appear?

Try emptying caches.
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    "Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    Delete Caches.db
    Close all windows and quit all applications.
    Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
    Select "Library" from the dropdown.
   Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
   Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
   Close windows and relaunch Safari.

What if I want to link to an image on an external site, such as Pixentral or Flickr, instead of uploading the image to the Forum server?

Flickr's Terms of Service state that if you post an image hosted on Flickr on another site you have to link back to the image page on Flickr. To do that you need to go to your image on Flickr, click on the All Sizes link above the image, select the size image you want, then Copy the HTML code from the first box of code underneath the image. Then, in the Forum's Rich Text Editor, click on the >> button/icon and select Insert Raw HTML. This will open a frame within your message where you paste the HTML code you copied from the Flickr site. Then continue on with composing your forum message and click “Post Message” to post the message to the forum system.
For Pixentral images, you will need to go to http://www.pixentral.com and upload your image following the instructions there. You do NOT have to check the box to make images public. Once your image is uploaded there copy the HTML code from the box below your image. Then, in the Forum's Rich Text Editor, click on the >> button/icon and select Insert Raw HTML. This wil open a frame within your message where you paste the HTML code you copied from the Pixentral site. Please note that there is an extra "/" character in the Pixentral URL that will prevent the image from showing up, so you need to make one change to the HTML that you copied from the Pixentral site. The beginning of the HTML code will look something like this:

Please remove the slash that appears between the quotes and the greater than symbol so that this part of the HTML code looks like this:

Thanks for fixing the "backslash" error. Accuracy is important, and doubly so when presented as an F.A.Q.
The sad thing is how prevalent the usage of "backslash" is when a plain old slash is meant (generally, the "forward" attribute is assumed and unneeded), and by people who should know better. It's a direct result of people knowing just barely enough about the Windows file path naming protocols, and then applying the only terminology they're familiar with incorrectly to URLs.
I went about 10 rounds—TWICE!—with a labyrinthian succession of people at the Discovery & History cable TV networks because they were saying "backslash" in voice overs whenever their commercials promoted their websites. It took some doing, but I finally got in touch with somebody who was savvy enough to recognize that it was a rookie mistake made by a clueless marketing copywriter. The voice over person just read the copy they were given, oblivious to the difference. It amazes me that it wasn't caught by somebody early in the recording/production process and rectified.
They then had it correct for about a year, until new commercials started popping up with the same error. Unfortunately, the person I had talked to previously no longer worked for the History channel and I had to go through the process of finding someone who understood all over again.
Yeah, you can call me a nitpicker with nothing better to do.
But I've earned that dang badge, and I wear it proudly!
