To displa ynegative value

Question

hi every body,
when i am trying to get the negative values using DECODE in select statement,
i am unable to get .
decode(y.trx_type, 'Credit Memo', (-1*x.ordered_quantity), x.ordered_quantity)) ordered_quantity
is this statement is correct to gent nagative values??

Unsure the exact question. Display options are handled by the client that does the rendering of data. On the Oracle side, you can set NLS formats and perform data type conversions for the client.
As for using an IF-like condition in a SELECT statement to determine whether a value is positive or negative, the CASE function is ideal. The following example demonstrates:SQL> create table numtab( n number );

SQL> insert into numtab select object_id from all_objects where rownum <= 3 union all  select object_id*-1 from all_objects where rownum <= 2;
5 rows created.

SQL> select * from numtab;
