  • How to find out total of number of users accessing Hyperion Planning applications ?

    Hi All,
Could someone help me with the details of how to find out total number of users who are accessing Hyperion Planning application in Env.?
This is with regard to licenses so wanted accurate and unique information,
    Thanks
    Amith

    Hello Amith,
I think you should have a look at the blog of Cameron Lackpour http://camerons-blog-for-essbase-hackers.blogspot.be/
In the "Shared Services Stupid Trick" blogs, he shows how to find the real access to an application. The side benefit is that it is amusing to read.
In how far this is OK for the licenses is written on another page. You likely need to use the same method as Oracle does. Ask the Salesperson how to do this. (I am curious what his/her reply is).

  • How can i find out total no of sunday in the year

    Hi Experts,
how can i find out total no of sunday's in the particular year. please can any one help how can i do that
    Regards,
    Arun

Just for fun (and in case this wasn't done to death in the other thread), the rule posted here states:
Most years have 365 days, but a leap year has 366 days. That adds up to 52 weeks (where each week is exactly 7 days) PLUS 1 or 2 additional days. The year 2012 has exactly 366 days. Now if the year starts on a Sunday in a non-leap year, you end up with 53 Sundays. Or if either of the first two days lands on a Sunday during a leap year, then you can also get 53 Sundays.>
which allows a calculation like this:
    with test_data as
         ( select rownum + 1999 as test_year from dual
           connect by rownum <= 15 )
    select test_year
         , case
              when first_day = 'SUN'
              or ( first_day = 'SAT' and leap_year = 'Y' )
                 then 53
              else 52
           end as sundays
    from   ( select test_year
                  , to_char(to_date(d.test_year||'-01-01','YYYY-MM-DD'),'DY', 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE=ENGLISH') first_day
                  , case extract(day from last_day(to_date(d.test_year||'-02','YYYY-MM'))) when 29 then 'Y' else 'N' end as leap_year
             from   test_data d );
    TEST_YEAR    SUNDAYS
          2000         53
          2001         52
          2002         52
          2003         52
          2004         52
          2005         52
          2006         53
          2007         52
          2008         52
          2009         52
          2010         52
          2011         52

  • Monitoring total number of JDBC connections

We have our application deployed in the Oracle 10g Application server, it uses Toplink 10g for the Persistence and OR mapping and the Oracle 9i database for data storage, the database connection pool is built and maintained by Toplink.
We observed that on the administration screen for each container, there are 2 parameters, number of active database connections and the total number of JDBC connections.
We did some load testing for the application and observed the following behaviour on the container.
    1. When the number of parallel users are 10, behaviour seems to be normal, the active database connections are less than 20(used by the connection pool built by Toplink) and the total number of JDBC connections is the same as the number of database connections.
    2. When the number of parallel users is increased to 50, we see that the active database connections is still less than 20, but the total number of JDBC connections just blowed up to 4000+ in less than 2 minutes and still growing. We have no valid explanation for this behaviour as the active sessions is still less than 20. Also we see no obnormal behaviour in our application log files.
    The questions i have are
    1. What could be the reason for the above abnormal behaviour?
    2. How this parameter "Total number of JDBC connections" for a container is actually measured?
    3. DOes this parameter gets affected by how we run the database i.e. in Dedicated server mode or Despactcher mode?
Many thanks for any information on this topic..

Perhaps your connection inactivity timeout is slightly too low, so that your connections are being closed and reopened at almost the same frequency. Try increasing the timeout.
    Good Luck,
    Chris

  • Can I find out how many clients are connected to a server process?

Hi, I am hoping I can find out how many clients are connected to a server process. This could be either a programmatic lookout number, a number in a log file etc.
By the way, does lookout have any application (not data) logs? I have noticed that occasionally lookout will crash and I cannot find any logs to determine why, what processes were running, who last accessed it etc.
    Thanks

    Hello,
There's currently no way to acquire this data. I think that'd be a great suggestion for the product. Please submit your feedback to our developers at the following link: http://digital.ni.com/applications/psc.nsf/default?OpenForm&temp1=&node=

  • Need to find out the number of Master data records transfered to the BW

    Hi,
We need to find out the number of Master data (example -0MAT_PLANT_ATTR) records to be transfered to BW side. This is a delta extract.  We are preparing test scripts to check the master data extract ( full & delta) from ECC6 TO BI 7.0..
    Advance Thanks.

    Hi,
Goto RSA3 and run that master data extractor in D mode if you want to know the number of records in delta and in F mode if you want to know the Full volume. But make sure that you set data records/calls and the display extr calls numbers so that you get the total number of records.
The other option is goto the master data source table and look at the number of records in that table. That'll give you an idea of the total number of records in the table.
One other option is to goto RSA7 , select the delta datasource and hit the display button. You'll get to know the number of entries in the delta queue that way as well.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • How do i find out serial number of my Macbook that is stolen so it can be reported to law enforcement ?

How do i find out serial number of my Macbook that is stolen so it can be reported to law enforcement ?

Did you have the "Find my Device" enabled on your AirBook? Look at this web page and maybe you remember setting it up and if you did you could track it and/or disable it the first time it's connected to the internet:
    https://www.apple.com/icloud/find-my-iphone.html
Report as soon as possible and also make up flier and hand out to all the local pawn shops in case the theif tries to pawn it or sell it. Also keep you eyes out for craigslist ipad sales for AirBooks - you never know how silly some people and try to sell a stolen item that you can prove is yours.
    Good luck...

  • How do i find the total number of fields within all tables in one of my databases

I'm in the process of creating some "gee whiz" metrics for one of my applications and want to find the total number of columns contained in its database.  Is there a stored procedure to get this information that would save me the effort
of opening each of my 66 tables and counting the columns?  I also have the same question for my 138 views.  Thank you for any ideas you care to offer...............Phil Hoop
    Phil Hoop

    Hi Phil,
    Assumes SQL 2005 or higher
Let 's try simple one ....
    SELECT COUNT(col.column_name), col.table_name
    FROM information_schema.columns col
    JOIN information_schema.tables tbl
    ON tbl.table_name = col.table_name
    AND tbl.table_schema = col.table_schema
    AND tbl.table_catalog = col.table_catalog
    AND tbl.table_type = 'VIEW'
    GROUP BY col.table_name
Let me know if this will help you.

  • How to find out the number of threads created under java vm at runtime

our application seems to have hit the max number of threads that can be created under vm and the vm will just hang after that. that behavior seems to be consistent from an article that I read earlier.
I wonder any way that java app can find out the number of threads currently created under vm?
    thanks in advance!

If you are not starting an extra thread group you can use the Thread.activeCount method. But this willnot return all the threads, as there are some jvm threads, i.e. garbage collector. Also if you are running on a Unix type operating system then you can send a signal to the jvm to give you a thread dump, i think the signal is sighup.
If the application is hanging i would of thought that you have a deadlock situation rather then the JVM not being able to create new threads, roughly how many threads should be running ??

    Hi All,
Can anybody help me to find out the number of fields in generated proxy structure in back end system along with controller fields.
i know how to get number of fields in XI system but i want the number of fields in back end system when we generate proxy including automatically generated controller fields.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

U mean u want to know at runtime?
Get the output from ur proxy as a string, count the number of "<" characters and divide it by 2. :-P
Of course, you'll have to treat the header fields separately.

    Henrique.
