To implement SAP HCM module in existing SAP ECC 6.0

Hi,
I have SAP ECC 6.0 system already implemented 2 years back.
I am planning to implement SAP HCM with OM, PA, SAP Time management, SAP PAYROLL in existing SAP ECC 6.0 system.
I have currently 3 system landscape for SAP ECC.
I would like to know what change/addition is required in above landscape to implement SAP HCM module in existing SAP ECC 6.0
Do share your view.

Hi.
As per you, Already designed Landscape. Why dont you follow you existing Landscape which is alredy proved for other modules.
Normally Dev/Quality/Production clients will there..
If more that depends upon flexibility in Each client and defining different business for testing and production interfaces purpose.
Better use Existing only remaining modules already sucessfully running in Production Right????

  • SAP HCM Module - Deleted PERNER in R/3 not reflected in BI

    Hi All,
             I am working in HCM Module, where most the loads used are full loads. I am facing one problem that whenever a PERNER is deleted from R/3 , it does not get reflected in BI (0EMPLOYEE) i.e the deleted employee still remains in BI as the load is full, to avoid this I had to refresh the entire transaction & master data & again reload the data so that the deleted PERNER does not appear,  this process is very time consuming.
    Are there any alternative available to avoid this issue?..is any flag gets maintained in table when a PERNER is deleted from R/3?..

    I have seen this question surface several times in SDN. 
    PERNR's should not be deleted from the R/3 system but rather delimited and "deactivated" by a personnel action so that their employment status shows up as Inactive with the delimited time period.  Then they come over into BW as Inactive and usually will not show up on any more staffing reports unless the users are looking for Inactive employees.  This is a best practice in the R/3 system. 
    Otherwise, you are stuck with drops/reloads of the Data Target and Master Data (if possible).  However, 0EMPLOYEE is used everywhere in the HR content in BI so it's difficult to clean up the master data after the employee has been loaded since the SID would get tied up in all the data targets that have the data for that employee.

    Myself Abhinav Chandra , having a PG Degree in HR and a work experience of 8 yrs plus in HR Domain . At presently, I am associated as as Manager - Human Resources with India's 2nd largest Steel Manufacturing organization . My organization is planning to implement SAP HCM module in this May 2015 and I am designated with the responsibility for its implementation in my organization .
    Pursuing a career in SAP HCM was always my dream since 3 yrs when had a refresher training in SAP HCM domain in 2012 . Now my question is if after gaining a SAP HCM Implementation experience and a SAP Certification with core HR exp of 8 yrs , how will it benefit in making a career move in SAP.

    Hi Abhinav,
    First I am very glad to hear that you have sound domain knowldge in HR. So for a person like you SAP Implementation experience will be fantastic advantage. Off course if you wanna do certification on SAP HCM that you can always do but for a person like you who has already sound domain knowldge if you add SAP HCM Implementation experienece in your bucket you are done.
    You know the respective HR Processes so thats a big advantage. However following steps would be good for you:
    Participate in Requirement Gathering workshop
    Participate in Design Process and finalise the design
    Try to know the SAP Configuration to some extent
    Involve in SAP HCM Process testing
    Good amount of involvement in SAP Authorisation issues as well.

    Hi....I'm a SAP ABAP developer and new to SAP HCM...I want to know if is possible to implement SAP HCM module as a stand alone product without implement FI-CO modules or without having interfaces to another SAP ERP system, my client only need a HR system, they already have and are comfortable with their current systems.....Where can I found information about SAP HCM stand alone implementation if this case is achievable.

    Beside Company code, what another mandatory things are necessary configure?.....Can they be for FI: Business area, the G/L accounts for payroll? and for CO: CO area, cost center?

  • PI 7.1 enterprise services: How to find & invoke SAP HCM enterprise Service

    in PI 7.1, i read, there is support of enterprice services.
    is my current understandings right about PI 7.1 and enterprise services:
    1.the standard BAPIs, standard RFC that were provided in R/3 are replaced by standard enterprise services in SAP ECC.
    2.a nonSAP application can invoke an enterprise service in the same way as a nonSAP application used to call an RFC in the R/3.
    I want to view how an enterprise service of any SAP module can be called by a nonSAP applicaiton.
    are there any doc or blog which shows this.
    is possible with/wihout PI.
    We have follwoing things installed.
    1. PI 7.1 SP4.
    2. SAP ECC 6.0, i am dealing with SAP HCM module.
    are there any enterprise services of HCM available (e.g standard enterprise services given by SAP for HCM module).
    basically i want to test whether a nonSAP application like a java application, can it get some info using standard HCM enterprise services provided by SAP.
    I explored esWorkplace (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace), but it does not display HCM related process components under the column "DISCOVER ENTERPRISE SERVICES".

    Try to have a clear understanding of requirements and find the best solution in SAP. Keep as much as possible everything standard and based on SAP best practices.
    In PA look for a comprehensive enterprise structure. It's base for everything.
    DON"T do anything through development(ABAP code) as much as possible specially in PT and PY. Try to do claculation by PCRs and Schema.

    I am on a new project where they need to do HR Data Migration from PeopleSoft (Legacy System) into SAP ECC. The Client wants me to implement SAP BW (New Implementation) doing the following Functional Areas for SAP HCM:

    4. Leave
    5. Time
    6. Allowances

    This is the scope of the project.
    They were using just over 600 reports from the Legacy System.
    Please let me know how long does it take developing an average of 25 Reports in each of the above mentioned areas (Area-wise) including ETL (Backend) Design in SAP BW? We are also looking at using Business Object Reporting Tools moving forwards.
    What is the best order of implementation of above Functional Areas?
    I am to start off with a SAP BW Solution Blueprint with As-Is, To-Be (Solution and Approach). Please let me know if there are better ideas.

    You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.

    If a company has implemented SAP without the HR module & now they want to implement SAP HR, will they have to buy a license for that? - Yes they will have to get licences for this.
    If yes, what will they have to pay? - They will have to contact SAP for this and negotiate with them.
    The number of employees working are 500. - The company will have to decide how many ESS licences they want to get and how many MSS licences they want to get. Again for all these ESS/MSS licences they wil have to pay separately apart from the HR licences.

    Go for SAP HCM. Eventhough Oracle is taking over many companies, SAP still prevails.
    My suggestion is that, first you try to get a job in your domain. It's better if you join a company who practices SAP. So that, you can have first hand experience on the SAP HCM/HR.
    Then try doing the Certification.
    You would have taken certification, if you were a fresher. As such you have 3+ years exp.
    Generally for any job opportunity, employer will look for the candidate who is currently working if he is not a fresher.
    While you working you can get certification with eLearning. Now so many institutions are offering this. Also, the fees is 50% less.

    First you need to know the organizational structure of that company because this will be your guide in determining the org units to configure in the system. Second, you should do mapping of business transactions/scenarios. What they want to do and what SAP can do so that you can determine any gaps and find solution to meet the gap. =).

  • SAP HCM Processes and Forms (WDABAP) - Implementation Cost

    Hello,
    As many companies are doing, right now we are defining budget for the next year.
    We expect to implement the HCM P&F based on WDABAP in the next FY but although we still don't have to much details on the feasibility or the scope, I need to provide an estimate cost of implementing the solution (licences, if applied, and consulting effort).
    Does anyone here already had the experience with the HCM P&F based on WDABAP and can share the metrics used to estimate the project cost?

    what I want is the list of Transaction Codes which are out dated / Obsolete due to release of new versions by SAP.
    Any Transaction Codes are out dated in SAP HR Module, or SAP came up with new Transaction Codes with (same + extra functionality), so that we can use the new Transaction Codes. 
    Example: SE16, SE16N
    Please let me know those Transaction Codes.

    The answer is Yes and No. Yes, if you have a corporate wide Financial System for taking balance sheet and other reporting needs and you need SAP MM for your purchasing and inventory management functions. Even in this case, you will need a FICO Consultant to setup the minimum FI settings. And to build interface to push the relevant data between SAP and the core financial system. No, if you dont have any other system to track the business financials.
    Most implementations will have FI and MM implemented and in few cases, where the corporate wide Financial system is different from SAP, we will have a lean FI implemented in SAP to allow necessary postings.

    Go to Transaction OPPQ- Maintain Plant paramets, OPPR-Maintain MRP groups and copy the setting from Plant 1000 to your new Plant.
    Then create new items again by copying the standard ones.
