To post a question to skype community once registe...

I just purchased on August 1, the exact same subscription that i had in July (Kenya 60 minutes 1 month) . The subscription worked so well in July I decided to renew for the month of August.  However, this month it is not acknowledging (Kenya 60 minutes 1 month) subscription.  I only know two people in Kenya and they are the exact same numbers I called in july and had no problem.  This month when I called the numbers I noticed that I am being charged.  I received confirmation from skype and my purchase history shows that i have purcahsed the (Kenya 60 minutes 1 month).  How do I resolve this issue?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I solved my own mystery.  I renewed a subscription on August 1, however, my previous subscription was purchased on July 13 and does not expire until August 13th.  Therefore, the new subscription that i just purchased on Aug 1 will not go into effect until August 13.  My skpye credit was being used until the renewal of my subscription begins August 13th.  Problem solved.

  • How do I post a question to skype?

I just receive a message from 'skype security urgent', I checked the posts and found that this is a regular occurrence that skype can't do much about.
However then I couldn't get back to my skype account and had to ask for for a new password.  Skype sent a message to my hotmail account but their link didn't work now I can't get into my skype account from another computer.  Why is it so bloody difficult to contact these online sites if I have a problem, it's not only skype.  I have to troll through pages and pages of faq and other irrelevant information and even then I can't find where to ask someone a question to solve my problem.  You need a couple of hours and a phd in internet speek to get anywhere.
Fortunately I have solved the proiblem of my password however the message I received and having to troll through a lot of useless information in order to solve a problem has not been solved.  Computers are ok to find out who did what around the world but if I need to find out how to work one of these kdsfjdsjm sites without tearing my hair out is like trying to read a book in mandarin if I only know Swahili

  • Introducing the Skype Community

    Welcome to the Skype Community
After being in the air since early 2004 as Skype's Forum, since April 2008 as Skype's Community and now as the Skype Community it is about time to introduce the people with badges and those without who you see posting regularly. But first a little explanation of what this community does.
The Skype Community is a place where Skype users can go for their Skype related question which they can discuss with other users. It can be any question from “How do I answer a Skype Call” to more technical ones. The purpose of this is to unite users in their Skype interests, to give users a chance to help others where they have a bigger knowledge and / or experience with Skype.
Every day thousands of users sign on to Skype for the very first time. Although there is a comprehensive, ever growing Knowledgebase there will be questions left which can be discussed in the Skype Community with users who have a huge experience in using Skype as their communication tool.
The variety of users browsing and replying to topics is enormous. From private users who only use Skype to keep in touch with friends and loved ones to Business users and beta testers. Especially beta testers are valuable. They seem to be born (or programmed over time ) to find and report bugs to help them getting resolved.
Other experienced users are those with a Community Amassador and Moderator badges and then the Skype Staff with the Skype logo next to their name. Next to the Skype related areas we also have a more casual and relaxed area called “Skype Lounge” where you are invited to talk about every day’s life, hobbies and interests and where you can chat with likeminded users who might even become good friends!
So, who is who in this Skype Community?
I start with the valuable user. Every user logged on for the very first time and most likely to find help. No doubt the user came to the right place because help is available here in large quantities. Because the Moderators monitor all topics, active users become visible and not seldom we agree that by the consistent help given, such a user deserves the Community Ambassador badge. This is a little award for life and will always express our appreciation. Our Community Ambassadors are involved in a Skype group chat with Moderators for questions, discussions and help. They are not left on their own but have our and each other's full support.
Sometimes Community Ambassadors are asked to join the Moderator team. Moderators receive the tools to moderate (work with) the community. This means they can edit, move and if necessary, delete posts (like spam). They guide users, advise them to submit a Support Ticket when necessary and help them to maintain the Community Guidelines. They also reply to posts.
Because the Skype Community is not an official support channel like Skype Customer Service Ticket System (who would like to see their account / payment details exposed on a public forum? The ticket system guarantees total privacy) Moderators can help the users who, for what ever reason, did not receive the right help via tickets. The preferable help tool is public posts so others with similar issues can find a solution. More private information is exchanged via PM (Private Message).
Moderators signed an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with Skype and have access to Skype staff to report and discuss specific problems. This way you are in safe hands.
Both Community Ambassadors and Moderators are although experienced Skype users, people like you and me. Some have full time jobs, others part time or are retired. All have in common that they like to use Skype, like to help out and are volunteers. They are present in the Skype Community in their spare time. Therefore some can spend more time helping out than others. They are located in different parts of the world, speak different languages. This way they cover 24 hours. Moderators participate in a group chat with the Admins to discuss what is going on in the community, support each other and get help when necessary.
Our admins are staff members. They handle the more advanced community tools. Together they are responsible for the whole community. The main community administration is done by yours truly as Community Manager. One of my pleasant tasks is to weekly report to my colleagues to keep them updated about what is going on in the Skype Community: what keeps users busy, their feature requests, problems and positive feedback for all platforms, subscriptions, payments and about all soft- and hardware.
We do not just operate in the background. We participate actively by reading and posting. We feel a huge responsibility for users, Community Ambassadors and Moderators for whom we also feel a great respect and pride.
Non Admin Staff members work behind the scenes and in any department within Skype. Their main goal is to improve Skype for the users. Not to maintain or develop the Skype Community. They are real and very nice people who do not hesitate to post in the Skype Community where a reply from staff is appreciated.
Not seldom community members grow from User, to Community Ambassadors, to Moderator/Beta Tester to Staff Member. (Maybe here is a little career for you )
I hope that above helps you to understand the Skype Community and to value the special and dedicated help of the volunteers. They deserve a thumbs up

  • Skype Community member sent me a scam email

I'm not sure if some of you have experienced this before, but someone on Skype Community sent me a private message, saying they wanted to be friends, but to contact them with their email address for 'network and personal reason'. I presumed it slightly suspicious, but I used my secondary email address and emailed the person to see what happened.
They seemed nice at first, but then after I replied, they came back with an email asking for money and all that stuff. So after that, I went and ignored the person on my Skype Community list.
Is there a way we report Skype Community members about scam and all that? And maybe ban them? O_o
If you know, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Hi, Fire4564,
Yes, the Moderation Team is aware of this issue.  Thank you for alerting the Community!  You may report the community member account name, and the text of the message if you wish, by copying and pasting, and sending a private message to a moderator.
Your post reads like so many others where scammers attempt to contact people via contact requests, e-mail, FaceBook, and so on.  The advice is the same: if you feel endangered, are harrassed, or threatened with blackmail, report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.  If needed, the authorities will contact Skype directly via official channels.
For those reading, please note: the Moderation Team is unable to lend assistance to requests for help sent via private message!  Please send messages to the Moderation Team by request only, such as in this instance.  Please post your questions on the Community message board best suited to the item you need assistance with.  Thank you for understanding!
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Why am I required to register BEFORE posting a question?

    Hello,
In the recent past, I always saw a notation that anyone who wanted to post a question was NOT required to register before posting a question. Now all of a sudden, I would like to know why.

New rules and new forum software.

  • Adobe Community crashes when I try to post a question (rare that I am able to even post this now)

Adobe community won't let me post a question. Normally it will prompt me to log in after being logged in already. Sometimes after logging in and submitting, it just reloads to the login screen. Very frustrating and I'm not sure why this is happening. It is a miracle that I was able to even attempt posting this and another question earlier today. Normally, it would not even let me finish typing my question before this happens (see picture below) then it exits the screen and goes back to the login screen.
Anyone have any idea as to why this could be happening?
It says at the bottom in the orange box, "The content that you requested could not be displayed due to an error. You may have been logged out. If this problem persists please contact your system administrator." I haven't tried contacting my administrator yet, but I would just like to get some ideas as to why this is happening. Last resort, I will contact them. Thanks!

I'm most familiar with the Apple implementation of jive.
There are a series of login bugs / features.
You should login before surfing the forums.  This avoids a bug were the software doesn't notice that you have logged in.
If your login status get confused. you need to clear your web browser caches.
You should pick a forum base like the list of your posts and consider this  your home base.  You should put this in a separate window.  You should find an auto reload add-on to your browser that reloads the page every 15 to 20 minutes.  Thus, you avoid the forced logout problem.
It's probably best to use the Chrome or firefox web browser.  Chrome seems to work the best on the most platforms  ( works on the ipad whereas Safari has problems ).

  • Skype Community Username Change

    Dear Skype Team,
Can some one guide me if it is possible to change the username of Skype community?

Hi, Deepaknet, and welcome to the Community,
As a gentle reminder ... from the About the Community page ...
    To register:
Click the Register link at the top of any page.
    Enter a Login name.
This is your screen name in the community. It appears whenever you post or send private messages.
Tip:Most people create anonymous names for the sake of privacy and to help them feel more comfortable participating. Be creative, have fun with it, but choose carefully: you cannot change your login once registration is complete.
If there is a truly necessary or required reason for a community account name to be changed, a request would need to be filed via private message to a member of the Skype Support Network Moderation Team for consideration.
    Thank you for understanding!
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Some questions about Skype Manager and Skype Conne...

    Hallo,
I found one of your post:
That, if I have some questions I may contact with  Contact our solutions team
    Sadly that link wont work...
I have few questions and also I contacted with Microsoft support, but sadly they wasn’t able to help me. Only what they suggests, that I may contact with Skype Team trough to Forum, or Facebook...
So, I choose first one and maybe you can help me, or redirect my question !?
    About my questions:
As I understand Skype for business is just name what contain two free software, like Skype manager and Skype connect. Also those are free, without charge ?
Also I read that there are two different accounts, like Premium and regular one. Premium contains some benefit. So, If I use that Skype for business manager system to I may or can add some premium accounts for some my staff and leave others with regular account ? I don’t have that manager systems installed jet, but what I read, I understand that I maybe just split credit - or is there way how I may also share regular and premium conots ?
Also, Right now my customers have 25 workers, but what - if soon my another customer also want to use Skype Service, and he have 50 - 100 workers ? Will be there special price for different amount of users on one firm ?
And at last, firm who I represent right now are using Elion VoiP (Elion, is Estonian ISP) service, trough to xLite program.
Sadly that one wont work properly, it will hack, or you cant hear other people and so on. With, Skype everything works fine. So, if he will starting to use Skype manger and will make account for every workers (sips) can he bound those sips with same VoiP numbers what he will use right now with Elion ? Or if not, is there some way how to redirect those numbers (to lose those numbers, is sadly out of question) ?
I hope, you can help me guy´s.
    Best regards
    Rainer

    Tere Rainer,
indeed we don't have the solutions team offer any longer. Let me try to answer some of your questions here.
Skype Manager and Skype Connect itself are free of charge. But obviously you can purchase and distribute paid products via Skype Manager.
Yes, you can freely distribute Premium subscription to Manager group members and leave others without. You can do the same with all kind of Skype products, e.g. Skype numbers, calling subscriptions etc.
There are no discounts with Skype Manager purchases. It's a tool to simplify administration.
Unfortunately you cannot transfer numbers to Skype connect. For more details on which features are supported and how they work please have a look here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10549/what-is-skype-connect-and-how-does-it-work
I hope my answers could help a bit already.

  • Bring back the community feel to 'Skype Community'...

My suggestion for this 'community' - bring back the community feel.
I've not been on the forums for some years now, so I'm probably just out of touch with what the skype forums are about these days. Anyway, I get the impression that although the forums were renamed to be 'community', the content seems to discourage a community feel.
    consider http://community.skype.com/t5/Translations/From-India/m-p/2638631/highlight/true#M719
"The Skype Community does not support friendship requests."
under the old skype forums, I remember many people used to post introductions to themselves and some such users included people who later went on to become skype moderators \ influential members of the skype community.
it's possible that the OP should have been advised to post more content \ a little more about themself, but to say that the community does not support friendship requests seems a bit of a contradiction.
I personally don't post 'friend requests' here or on any other forums, but when socialising it's natural to see people introducing themselves especially when they are integrating into a new community....
The old skype versions had a 'meet me' feature. this was suspended as it created more problems than anyone expected... too many idiots being idiots because it was a one-to-one exchange. however I believe that the old forums had a 'coffee corner' where people did introduce themselves and it was encouraged. perhaps this 'community' needs such a section to truly be a community. it doesn't seem sensible to be stating that skype does not support friendship requests....

Thanks for your feedback. I agree that joining and building online communities also is fostered by the option to share details about yourself. Just like with the "Skype Me" status feature from the Skype application this requires a high amount of moderation, especially because of the "idiots" you are mentioning. We still have a "Skype lounge" here on the Skype Community were open discussions (that aren't contact requests) are welcome. Please join us there.

  • Skype Community Name

    Hello Admin
My Skype Comunity name is "Skyp3" as you see all while I post . But I really want to change my Skype Community Nick. Kindly guide me how can I change my Name in the Comunity while I post my postings.
    Kindly Help. Thanks in advance.

    Dear Skype3,
Unless a security or other serious need has arisen and can be explained, like a Skype Account name, your Community account "nick name" cannot be changed for convenience.  I realize this sounds rather harsh; is not intended to sound that way.  Before you accrue a large number of posts, consider starting a new Community account with a nick name you prefer -- if it is available!
    Kind regards,

  • Why is there no simple 'post a question' tab on th...

Firstly, I had to google how to post a question.....that isn't helpful.
Secondly, i've been unable to connect with anyone today over skype. I've quit and restarted several times and still nothing. Why?
And thirdly, again, why is it sooooo difficult to ask a simple question of you Skype?????

It really does beggar belief .. I am all for progress, and moving forward, but my skype account has taken a downward slope over the years, and there is no simple way of resolving problems outside of their FAQ page, search space ( which is frankly, laughable ) or the community..
I am actually trying to resolve a problem that is restricting me using the account... Derrrr
I have nothing against a community, but if i wanted further social interaction, i'd look at facebook or whatever...
The internet search pages are full of such people as us, making comments and getting no good resolve..
Did they never hear the phrase " the customer comes first "..
Anyway, thank you for your reply.. It is the only reply that i have recieved.. i was hoping tp prompt an administrator to speak up and tell me taht i was just being a silly old fool and here's how to get a problem resolved, but a week or more later, i'm still waiting...
Notamuzed   ( i also had to mis spell my username to get it , they obviously filter out words that they dont want used as usernames, big brother is watching you, yes YOU )
