Skype Community Username Change

Dear Skype Team,
Can some one guide me if it is possible to change the username of Skype community?

Hi, Deepaknet, and welcome to the Community,
As a gentle reminder ... from the About the Community page ...
To register:
Click the Register link at the top of any page.
Enter a Login name.
This is your screen name in the community. It appears whenever you post or send private messages.
Tip:Most people create anonymous names for the sake of privacy and to help them feel more comfortable participating. Be creative, have fun with it, but choose carefully: you cannot change your login once registration is complete.
If there is a truly necessary or required reason for a community account name to be changed, a request would need to be filed via private message to a member of the Skype Support Network Moderation Team for consideration.
Thank you for understanding!
Best regards,
Elaine

  • [Request]Username Change

Hello Skype Community! There is an issue between me and my close relative about the Skype 'Username'.i hereby request skype community to change my skype 'Username' from "[redacted for privacy]" to "[redacted for privacy]"I will be thankful to you if you proceeded my request!

if you have agreed to change the skype username so that your relative can use it instead, the easiest would be just to remove any payment information from the account, change the user info on the account, including the primary mail address so that it is the information for that person, set the password do something you don't use and tell your relative what the password is and make sure that that person changes the password to something you don't know. and then create a new skype account. If you have credits and other things connected to the account, you might want to have that info transferred to a new account, I suspect that that would be possible. Keep the old account a while longer, create a new account with an acceptable user name, contact skype support through the procedure you can find somewhere here in the user forum,, while you are logged in as your old user name, and ask them to transfer everything to the new account. THEN you hand the account over to your relative. What I would do is to just forget about the skype account and create a new one so that noone else can use that skype account. The only reason for me to heed to stupid requests from relatives would be if the request isn't stupid - ie if I created the account out of spite

  • How do I change me community username

When I created my community username, I miss-spelled it.  How can I change it now?

Apple apparently either cannot or will not do anything about it, no. The Communities Hosts have said on several occasions on the Communities support forum that changing the alias here is not possible, but the reasons have never been details.

  • Skype username change?

    Hello!
So I've had this account for many years, but since it is possible to get an IP via Skype calls and so on.
I would like to change my username, since I removed many contacts that I don't know and don't want
    them in my list.
Is it possible for me to change my username?
I only ask for username-change, nothing advanced. I would really like this to happen
since I really want to protect my identity. I've had some DDoS attacks lately too.
    kind regards,
    Gabz

  • Introducing the Skype Community

    Welcome to the Skype Community
After being in the air since early 2004 as Skype's Forum, since April 2008 as Skype's Community and now as the Skype Community it is about time to introduce the people with badges and those without who you see posting regularly. But first a little explanation of what this community does.
The Skype Community is a place where Skype users can go for their Skype related question which they can discuss with other users. It can be any question from “How do I answer a Skype Call” to more technical ones. The purpose of this is to unite users in their Skype interests, to give users a chance to help others where they have a bigger knowledge and / or experience with Skype.
Every day thousands of users sign on to Skype for the very first time. Although there is a comprehensive, ever growing Knowledgebase there will be questions left which can be discussed in the Skype Community with users who have a huge experience in using Skype as their communication tool.
The variety of users browsing and replying to topics is enormous. From private users who only use Skype to keep in touch with friends and loved ones to Business users and beta testers. Especially beta testers are valuable. They seem to be born (or programmed over time ) to find and report bugs to help them getting resolved.
Other experienced users are those with a Community Amassador and Moderator badges and then the Skype Staff with the Skype logo next to their name. Next to the Skype related areas we also have a more casual and relaxed area called “Skype Lounge” where you are invited to talk about every day’s life, hobbies and interests and where you can chat with likeminded users who might even become good friends!
So, who is who in this Skype Community?
I start with the valuable user. Every user logged on for the very first time and most likely to find help. No doubt the user came to the right place because help is available here in large quantities. Because the Moderators monitor all topics, active users become visible and not seldom we agree that by the consistent help given, such a user deserves the Community Ambassador badge. This is a little award for life and will always express our appreciation. Our Community Ambassadors are involved in a Skype group chat with Moderators for questions, discussions and help. They are not left on their own but have our and each other's full support.
Sometimes Community Ambassadors are asked to join the Moderator team. Moderators receive the tools to moderate (work with) the community. This means they can edit, move and if necessary, delete posts (like spam). They guide users, advise them to submit a Support Ticket when necessary and help them to maintain the Community Guidelines. They also reply to posts.
Because the Skype Community is not an official support channel like Skype Customer Service Ticket System (who would like to see their account / payment details exposed on a public forum? The ticket system guarantees total privacy) Moderators can help the users who, for what ever reason, did not receive the right help via tickets. The preferable help tool is public posts so others with similar issues can find a solution. More private information is exchanged via PM (Private Message).
Moderators signed an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with Skype and have access to Skype staff to report and discuss specific problems. This way you are in safe hands.
Both Community Ambassadors and Moderators are although experienced Skype users, people like you and me. Some have full time jobs, others part time or are retired. All have in common that they like to use Skype, like to help out and are volunteers. They are present in the Skype Community in their spare time. Therefore some can spend more time helping out than others. They are located in different parts of the world, speak different languages. This way they cover 24 hours. Moderators participate in a group chat with the Admins to discuss what is going on in the community, support each other and get help when necessary.
Our admins are staff members. They handle the more advanced community tools. Together they are responsible for the whole community. The main community administration is done by yours truly as Community Manager. One of my pleasant tasks is to weekly report to my colleagues to keep them updated about what is going on in the Skype Community: what keeps users busy, their feature requests, problems and positive feedback for all platforms, subscriptions, payments and about all soft- and hardware.
We do not just operate in the background. We participate actively by reading and posting. We feel a huge responsibility for users, Community Ambassadors and Moderators for whom we also feel a great respect and pride.
Non Admin Staff members work behind the scenes and in any department within Skype. Their main goal is to improve Skype for the users. Not to maintain or develop the Skype Community. They are real and very nice people who do not hesitate to post in the Skype Community where a reply from staff is appreciated.
Not seldom community members grow from User, to Community Ambassadors, to Moderator/Beta Tester to Staff Member. (Maybe here is a little career for you )
I hope that above helps you to understand the Skype Community and to value the special and dedicated help of the volunteers. They deserve a thumbs up

  • Need a username change or need to have people addi...

i need to get my username change or disable the ability for people to add me for a month, because someone posted my username on skype dating sites. Please help i have random people adding me and i have to keep blocking them

Hi, Parcool, and welcome to the Community,
To remove/delete a Skype account, as explained here, 'Can I delete my Skype account?',  is permanent.  Once a Skype account name has been created, it can not be changed.  Unfortunately, in these circumstances, you may need to consider starting a new account and removing the account which was maliciously posted.

  • I want to remove what Skype identifies as "Tell you friends what you are feeling . . . ."  One person on the Skype community said I could rename a file, but he thought I was on a PC.  I am using OS10.7.4, and Skype is functioning OK.

One person on the Skype community suggested:
    Re: disable mood history
    17-09-2011   02:04
Actually it is possible to delete your own mood message updates but it requires an unsupported ”fix”.
You need to delete the keyval.db database file. In order to be on the safe side, it’s best just to rename this file, so you can always get it back if something went wrong.
You can find this file by entering %appdata%\skype in the Start Run/Search box. This will open the Skype User folder. Locate there the folder with your Skype Account name and the keyval.db file will be there. You must stop Skype from running on your computer before deleting/renaming this file. Next time you start Skype a new version of this file will be recreated and all mood message updates will be removed from the home page.
However, this guy didn't know I was on a Mac.  I phoned Apple to see if they could show me how to get into the Skype file apparently on my computer, and they couldn't find it.
Anyone out there have any ideas?  It doesn't seem as if I have any Skype files on my computer.  If I need to make file changes via "the terminal," can someone tell me how to do this?
    Gretchen

    Hello,
I had the same problem with finding this file.
There's no such file in Mac OS X version of Skype. But there's a directory for your Skype user account in /Users/%current_user_name%/Library/Application Support/Skype/
    try:
    quitting Skype
    renaming old folder
    signing into the Skype

  • Skype Community Name

    Hello Admin
My Skype Comunity name is "Skyp3" as you see all while I post . But I really want to change my Skype Community Nick. Kindly guide me how can I change my Name in the Comunity while I post my postings.
    Kindly Help. Thanks in advance.

    Dear Skype3,
Unless a security or other serious need has arisen and can be explained, like a Skype Account name, your Community account "nick name" cannot be changed for convenience.  I realize this sounds rather harsh; is not intended to sound that way.  Before you accrue a large number of posts, consider starting a new Community account with a nick name you prefer -- if it is available!
    Kind regards,
    Elaine

  • Skype Community member sent me a scam email

I'm not sure if some of you have experienced this before, but someone on Skype Community sent me a private message, saying they wanted to be friends, but to contact them with their email address for 'network and personal reason'. I presumed it slightly suspicious, but I used my secondary email address and emailed the person to see what happened.
They seemed nice at first, but then after I replied, they came back with an email asking for money and all that stuff. So after that, I went and ignored the person on my Skype Community list.
Is there a way we report Skype Community members about scam and all that? And maybe ban them? O_o
If you know, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Hi, Fire4564,
Yes, the Moderation Team is aware of this issue.  Thank you for alerting the Community!  You may report the community member account name, and the text of the message if you wish, by copying and pasting, and sending a private message to a moderator.
Your post reads like so many others where scammers attempt to contact people via contact requests, e-mail, FaceBook, and so on.  The advice is the same: if you feel endangered, are harrassed, or threatened with blackmail, report the incident to your local law enforcement agency.  If needed, the authorities will contact Skype directly via official channels.
For those reading, please note: the Moderation Team is unable to lend assistance to requests for help sent via private message!  Please send messages to the Moderation Team by request only, such as in this instance.  Please post your questions on the Community message board best suited to the item you need assistance with.  Thank you for understanding!
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Skype Community

How is skype community structured in regards to who actually works on behalf of skype and the ones who are just community members? Can community members become moderators?
Also how can you contact Skype directly in the even that your questions are not answered in Skype community?

    Hi, Acitnavas39,
Regarding your first question, you will note a difference in the "badges" beside each moderator's name.  For your second question, please see this thread:

  • Username change

I need my username changed as it is critical<br>My account security is compromised too many times i want my actual username changed to prevent hijacks

    Hi, Bmrzod01,
Skype will not change a user account name; please contact Skype Customer Service as noted in this FAQ article to remove your account from the search directory:
'Can I delete my Skype account?'
Removing your account from the search directory effectively closes the account from further use, and you would need to create a new account.
Important: If you are being threatened or endangered, contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.
I have transferred this thread (topic) to the Skype Account: Security-Privacy-Trust & Safety message board as the matters discussed are not Winows-specific.

How to delete skype community account?

Hi, Ratines, and welcome to the Community,
You would need to send a private message to one of the Moderation Team members stating your request.  Posting privileges would  be revoked (the account banned).  However, posts would be left in place, as explained in our Community Guidelines

  • Skype claims username is not recognised

strange enough, I cannot login and cannot retrieve my password as the original email address is no longer active. I cannot change email address either as skype says username is not recognised, because of some billing malaki (buls**t).
My other contacts can see my username as offline and also how many contacts I have, so the username is clearly still in the system.
my question: HOW do I get to my account ?

Yes, this is happening to me too and has been happening for the last 24 hours. I attempted to solve this issue on my own but I'm unable to. Somehow my username has just up and vanished from the system and I'm unable to log in, change my password, and if I click "forgot username" it tells me a username that is close to but not my old username.
I run a business that's based online and I need to use Skype to get a hold of clients. This is completely unacceptable.

  • Skype Account username

    Hi
Perhaps this is already a question that is being asked a few times, but I would really like this information and by my quick search I haven't found a positive answer - if there is any.
Is there possible to change my Skype account username?
    I would really needed it...
    Thanks!

    Diogo Água

nope, it is not possible to change Skype usernames, the only one users can modify or change is their dislay name.

  • Internal Error when viewing an activity in E-Rec after a username change

    Hello,
Hereu2019s a brief explanation of the scenario that we are in:
u2022 We created a new User ID for an employee because of his/her name
    change.
u2022 We then attached this new User Id to her HR master records using Info
    Type 105 (IT0105) subtype 1 (ST01).
u2022 This employee already had her previous User ID attached to his HR
master records using the same IT0105 ST01. So now, this employee has 2
    IT0105 ST01 records.
u2022 We transferred these records (old and new ids) to E-Recruiting via
    ALE process.
To do this ALE process, we executed RBDMIDOC program on the system
where our HR Master Data reside.
u2022 Then in our e-recruiting system, we executed RBDAPP01 to process
    these idocs.
u2022 This processing delimited the old User ID and created a new User ID
for the same person in the e-recruiting system. We can view this
    relationship in HRP1001.
u2022 Now, prior to her name change, this person had performed some
activities on a candidateu2019s records in E-Recruiting. Obviously, these
activities were performed with his old user ID. So those activities
have the old user ID associated with them.
u2022 After sending the new User Id in e-recruiting, when we go to view
those candidate activities in candidate overview, the system throws the
    internal error message.
The format that we use for creating usernames is last name first letter of first name, i.e. Bob Jones would look like JONESB.
At present the only way to remedy the situation is to have the recruiter who's name (and username) changed manually change it for each activity.
After opening up a message with SAP they responded with:
    Dear Customer,
That's right. The reason why this recruiter doesn't see his/her
activities is because they were created under a different user.
E-Recruiting is designed with a stable CP-US relationship. If you
do a delimination this can cause problems for the recruiter (as
mentioned above) as in IT5131 the user is stored as team member.
If the user assigned to a CP changes, the responsible candidate class
cannot be instanced anymore. So we strictly recommend not to delimit theCP-US relation.
Has anyone else experienced the problem?  How did you address it?  It has been my experience to use the name of the employee when creating a username.  This has never been a problem in our core system, just in E-Recruiting.
    Thank you for your help!
    Regards,
    Ryan

    DonSu,
You have to look at the line above it to gather what's happening.  As I mentioned it making a call to get the contents of the Data Source using GetDataSourceContents.  What you might try is making the same call using Microsoft APIs and PowerShell.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/reportservice2010.reportingservice2010.getdatasourcecontents.aspx
    [string]$folderDestination = "/<Path to Data source>"
    [string]$webServiceUrl = "https://EnterURLhere/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx"
    $ssrsProxy = New-WebServiceProxy -Uri $webServiceUrl -UseDefaultCredential
    $DatasourceContent = $ssrsProxy.GetDataSourceContents($folderDestination)
    $DataSourceOutput = $DatasourceContent | Select-Object ConnectString, Extension, Enabled, UserName, WindowsCredentials, CredentialRetrieval
    Write-Output $DataSourceOutput
