To read HRASR_PREVIOUS_NOTES in Workflow

Hello All
I have a scenario to read the previous notes entered in the HCM Forms in the workflow. For other fields, we can use the task TS17900110 to read the form data in the workflow. But we are not be able to use it to read previous notes because the data types of the task return parameter and HRASR_PREVIOUS_NOTES are different.
If any of you have come across this problem, appreciate if you can provide the solution for this.
Thank you.
Regards
Ranganath

  • Adobe Reader And SharePoint Workflow: How To?

    Hi all,
    We are using SharePoint 2010 as our collaboration portal.
    Our Marketing department wants to use feedback workflows on PDF documents.
    The PDF documents can be commented and all reviewers should be able to do that in turn or parallel.
    We can start the workflow on the PDF document and users can edit the file by entering comments.
    However, as soon as someone has entered comments into the PDF file the corresponding SharePoint workflow tasks are cancelled?!
    It appears that when commented, Adobe Reader does not change the exisiting document, but deletes the old one (hence the cancellation of the workflow tasks by SharePoint) and consolidates the comments into a physical new document?!
    Does anyone know how to fix this and what is best practice in these scenario's?
    Much obliged,
    Vladja

    Hi SAMSUNG,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get the full path of a document in a list workflow.
    You can set the variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the document. The screenshot is my testing. In my testing (in the red area), when the title of a document was equal to the tile of the current item, set a variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the
    document. I used ‘Log to history list’ to check the value of the variable in Workflow History .
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy

  • Read currently running workflow information

    Hi everybody,
    Please let me know if anyone came across a situation where we need to read the currently running workflow information..
    To be precise, I have a workflow which starts a method, which in turn executes code present in an include.. Now, in this include, I need to know whether it was called from the workflow.. (What i mean to say is that, the include could have been called from many places.. like BAdI methods etc.. I need to execute a specific action only if it was called from the workflow.)
    The plan could be something like.. "read all the currently running workflows and get the related information" .. Any idea how????
    Regards,
    Arun B

    Hello again,
    well, as long nobody else runs jobs using this background-user or changes the user-ID of the workflow-system, it'll work fine.
    To be more precisely on the WF-BATCH user, you could also check for the configured name. Anyways, for a quick check/fix you could be fine when using this procedure.
    However it'll not work within work-item execution from dialog-tasks, as then the actual user processed the code.
    So here's the code snippet to determine the workflow user's user-id:
    *Method signature:
    * RETURNING VALUE( RV_WF_BATCH ) TYPE XUBNAME
    *   "User Name of workflow background user
    method GET_WORKFLOW_USER.
       DATA: lv_rfcdest             TYPE RFCDES-RFCDEST.
    *   Read the RFC destination from workflow basic customizing
       CALL FUNCTION 'SWW_WIM_RFC_DESTINATION_NAME'
          IMPORTING
             WORKFLOW_DESTINATION       = lv_rfcdest.
    *   Read the user-ID from this destination
       CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_READ_L_DESTINATION'          "#EC CI_USE_WANTED
           EXPORTING
              DESTINATION               = lv_rfcdest   "#EC CI_USE_WANTED
              AUTHORITY_CHECK           = ' '
           IMPORTING
              USER                      = rv_wf_batch
           EXCEPTIONS
              OTHERS                    = 0.
    endmethod.

  • The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information. Outcome: Unknown Error

    Received this error (The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information.) recently on a workflow that was
    working fine and no changes were made to the workflow.
    I have tried a few suggestions, i.e. adding a pause before any ‘Update’ action (which didn’t help because the workflow past this action without incident); checked the data type being written
    to the fields (the correct data types are being written); and we even checked the list schema to ensure the list names and the internal names are aligned (they
    are), but we still cannot figure out why the workflow is still throwing this error.
    We located the area within the workflow step where it is failing and we inserted a logging action to determine if the workflow would execute the logging action but it did not, but wrote the same error message.
    The workflow is a Reusable Approval workflow designed in SharePoint Designer 2010 and attached to a content type.
    The form associated with the list was modified in InfoPath 2010.
    Approvers would provide their approval in the InfoPath form which is then read by the workflow.
    Side note - items created after the workflow throws this Unknown Error some seem to be working fine.
    We have deleted the item in question and re-added it with no effect.
    Based on what we were able to determine there don’t seem to be any consistency with how this issue is behaving.
    Any suggestions on how to further investigate this issue in order to find the root cause would be greatly appreciated?
    Cheers

    Hi,
    I understand that the reusable workflow doesn’t work properly now. Have you tried to remove the Update list item action to see whether the workflow can run without issue?
    If the workflow runs perfectly when the Update list item action is removed, then you need to check whether there are errors in the update action. Check whether the values have been changed.
    Thanks,

  • So, I'm trying to strip Reader for domain security

    ...and I thought I had it completely nailed.  I was able to view documents, print, change preferences, everything except the things I don't want people in my domain doing anyway, like executing JavaScript out of a PostScript document.  *ahem*
    Then I changed... something.  And now I get a brief error every time I try to open Edit -> Preferences:
    "Failed to load an application resource (internal error)."
    I've put back most of the plugins, restored .\Javascripts, reversed most of the Registry changes and cleared every folder called "Adobe" from my test user account, and I'm still getting this error when trying to open prefs.  Everything else works fine, like creating a report.  Although Reader reports that I'm running Vista when my test system is Win7 amd64 SP1 beta, but maybe I'm splitting hairs.
    Oh, also, tWhiteList doesn't seem to work like you'd expect it to.  In fact, it doesn't appear to work at all.  Does Reader even pay attention to this value any more?  Leaving it in because I'm still experimenting with it.  Also, the Reader MSI still installs it.  Presumably, it has a purpose of some kind.
    For no obvious reason, the list of plugins generated from Generate System Report just reports AcroForm several times.  About Plugins correctly shows
    PPKLite.api
    eBook.api
    DigSig.api
    AcroForm.api
    PDDom.api
    reflow.api
    SaveAsRTF.api
    Search.api
    I'm pasting the Registry entries directly from the Inno Setup script I'm working on (no one scream, please):

    Hello natorious325,
    I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  The Creative Cloud desktop application is the program that you use to install your Creative Cloud programs (such as InDesign) and manage your files and font selections.  It looks like this:
    If there are problems with font sync, there will be an error listed in the Assets > Fonts tab of the Creative Cloud desktop application.
    Please check these troubleshooting steps for desktop sync, which cover most of the common problems:

  • Use of digital signatures within a workflow

    Hello all,
    We attempt to build a workflow, where users will be digitally signing the forms being routed. However there are implications some implications with signing the documents.
    Here is the use scenario
    1. Initiator fills a form with datadigitally signs the formand then submits the form.
    2. 1st participant reviews the signed formthen he also signs the form on a separate area
    3. The signed (by initiator and participant) form is then archived. The data are extracted and stored to a third party system (e.g. a database)
    What we have tried up to now
    a. used Designer 7.0 to design a XFA form template incorporating some data entry fields and two signature fields.
    b. embedded a binding schema and saved as .xdp
    deployed the form to LC Form Manager
    c. we RE the deployed form properties to allow for digital signatures in Reader
    d. used Workflow Designer to create a simple workflow with two users (initiator to fill and sign the form, 1st participant to sign the form, 2nd participant for viewing the result)
    3. set a Init-Form to use this particular template (the url points to our form)
    4. set a Form-Var (the variable is of type document, the XFA schema is also displayed)
    5. set data mappings (user properties) to use Form-Var as both input and output
    Now, the sad story
    i. initiator logins to FM, selects the form, fills some data, signs and submits the form
    ii. 1st participant receives a working item in his worklist
    iii. he opens the form, any data the initiator entered are there, BUT the digital signature field (where initiator previously signed) is EMPTY
    iv. initiator navigates to his archive and sees the same (data but no signature)
    Remark: whenever this form opens (1st participant worklist or initiator archive), the form takes up all the space within Internet Explorer, i.e. the FM left-side navigation and any other frames disappear
    Any idea to workaround on this would be great. Thanks in advance for your help,
    ~Evangelos

    Hi Evangelos,
    Your issue is that you are submitting back an XDP format and not the PDF format. To resolve this issue, open your form and select the FSSUBMIT_ field from the heirarchy. Click on the Object palette and look at your Submit options. On that tab look at the Submit Format dropdown. You will want to choose PDF instead of XML Data Package (XDP). I have attached the working version of your form!!!
    Basically you where reconstructing the PDF with the submitted data (the data does not have the signature in it) and hence the signature was being lost. The signature info is only part of the finished PDF.
    NOTE: that the signatures will break from step to step (i.e. a yellow exclamation mark will appear) but Adobe are aware of this, and it will be fixed in the future.
    regards
    David.

  • OOTB workflow gives error when user rejects in the document in publishing a major version.

    Hi All,
    I am using OOTB workflow with little customization  with following configuration
    1. Allow content approval enabled
    2. Configure a workflow with following general settings true
    3. Start workflow on publish of Major version only is enabled
    4. workflow has following configuration enabled.
    Now, when user start publishing of major version and Starts the workflow. workflow starts without any problem.
    But as and when the user rejects the document it is rejected with Reject status with "Approval Status" as well as workflow status which is expected.(This is correct )
    But when i look at the workflow history i can see at last line there is an Error with
    An error has occurred in In [Workflow Name].
    Now when user check out and check in item again and try to publish with Major version again. it gives errors that the previous version is still running.
    I have trace a lot and also test with original OOTB workflow itself. it is behaving the same.
    As per my findings there is problem in "Completion condition of this task process" the end task process is not being executed correctly.
    I tried to end the task process with End the task process action but it is still not working.
    I need some help in this issue as users are facing problems in case of rejection. I hope some one has the solution for the same.
    Two things i have noticed are
    1. My MS office 2010 professional plus is expired as i was using trial version
    2. I have made stop inheriting tasks permission and remove all default groups as i have settings in workflow "Only allow task reception and process owner to read and edit workflow task"
    3. Earlier i had also installed "Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates". i had also observed that (installing Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates) before that if user has selected "Automatically rejects the document if any participant rejected". it ends
    with "rejected" status. At present it remains in inprogress and not stops with rejected status.
    Can any one give me a hint what should be the problem ? Is it a problem with latest Sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates ?
    Thanks,

    I have done following testing.
    1. The server in which i have not installed sharepoint 2010 April 2012 updates the above scenario is working fine without any problem
    2. I have also observed following logs of error in server where April 2012 updates is installed.

    It works fine with the desktop version of PDF reader. However. It doesn't appear that
    PDF reader for Android contains the Flash Player runtime.
    Can someone from Adobe confirm this ?
    Thanks.

    Dov, you confimed that Adobe Reader for Android has the Flash Player Runtime - I thought this feature is necessary to be able to show embedded  (flv) videos?
    What about viewing cross platform proof PDF files containing mp4 (H.264) embedded videos?
    Up to now I’m forced to show ezPDF Reader in my workflow scenarios - think about the bad psychology that I always will have explain that the rich media PDF workflows could work with Adobe products, but Adobe itself seems to limit PDF use cases in order not to become a competitor of let’s guess of FOLIO?
    Please explain me why? No market? I would like to contradict as much as I can.
    If someone starts to weaken the big possibilities for PDF even on mobile devices this seems to be Adobe itself: Where are the Adobe show cases showing rich media PDFs on mobile devices?
    Almost everything Adobe is showing with rich media information is in DPS  based on Folio  (slide shows, videos etc).
    You might get all the functionality much easier using PDF (seen from a classic DTP workflow using Word, FrameMaker or InDesign)
    Why didn’t Adobe add more multimedia features?  Where is the 3D support on mobile devices?
    Has Adobe changed the overall PDF strategy?
    Where is an  Adobe PDF cross platform strategy for using rich media PDFs on PC, Macs, Android and iPhone/iPads?

  • Workflow and BPEM material related to IS-U

    Hi,
    1. I have read somewhere that workflows related to SAP IS-U are available.
    So could you please provide information (documentation) as where to find it and how can we modify it as per client requirement?
    2. BPEM process is also available but documentation (ccokbook) or related info is not available.
    Would be grateful if anybody can provide that.

  • Oracle Workflow

    Hello,
    We are planning to build workflow capability to our product. This product is written in C++ and uses Oracle 8i enterprise edition as database. One of the option is to use oracles existing workflow engine as the base and build over that. I had the following queries on the oracle workflow.
    1. Is oracle workflow a part of Oracle 8i enterprise edition. If so is there any additional license to be obtained to use this product?
    2. What are the components of Oracle workflow engine? What additional products of Oracle has to be purchased for full functioning of Oracle workflow?
    3. Any information on functioning of workflow engine. ie. What happens after a Workflow process definition has been imported and this process is initiated.
    4. Is oracle workflow complaint to Wfmc standards.
    5. How powerfull is Oracle workflow when it comes to integration with external systems.
    It would be great if any body could help me any of the above questions in part or full or even send some other comments that they feel would be usefull.
    Thanks and regards

    I can answer some of your queries, as i have worked on Oracle Workflow in globally deployed applications in the financial services industry.
    1. oracle workflow is part of 8i enterprice edition
    2. workflow consists of the workflow server (set of plsql procedures) and workflow builder (tool used to build your workflow's). Though if you want to include other than HTML documents(say Word, Excel...) as attachments to your notifications you can consider iFS. You can also consider using 9iAS if you want to do a bespoke customization using the Java API.
    3. The scope of this question is huge. I would suggest you take a look at the Workflow Guide. Referring to the specific query raised by you, once the process is initiated the workflow engine will push it through the various activities in your workflow with the objective of running the current instance to completion.
    4. I remember reading that Oracle Workflow is WfMC, though I am not able to locate the link.
    5. The projects I have worked on.. Oracle Workflow intefaces with Sybase, Informix, DB2, IBM MQ Series, TIBCO Rendezvous, Weblogic JMS... Oracle Workflow provides external java function which can be used to interact with external applications. Oracle 8i database also supports JMS 1.2 standards based API. You can also use that to interact with queueing systems.
    Hope you find it useful.
    Thanks

  • Scope Of ABAP Programming in the WorkFlow

    Can any one tell me the scope of programming in the workflow and also the way to start it.

    Amit:
    Not sure what you mean by "scope", but anyway .....
    You can call a function module as a workflow task. Once in the function module, you can write as much ABAP as you want. In terms of data available, any parameters / values you want to access and / or modify within the called function module has to be passed in the workflow container.

  • Customization of Acrobat Reader X - Remove Comment | Share

    Hello,
    Im searching for a possibility to customize Acrobat Reader 10.
    I need to remove the functions "Comment" and "Share" which are located on the right side of the tool bar.
    Are their any registy keys I can use for this? The only possibility I currently see is using AppSense Environment Manager but we also use server farms which are not managed via AppSense.
    Kind regards

    Okay, I found the answer:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Workflows]
    "bEnableAcrobatHS"=dword:00000000

  • ELM Workflow

    Hi All,
    I am trying to upload and map data from ELM. When i select Start <i>Immediately</i> and save. I get this error message: "Task WS 14000029 not customized as a general task".
    When i check the error message, i read as follows:
    'workflow template WS14000029. The attributes of WS14000029 must be set
    to General Task, otherwise the workflow cannot be started and the steps
    cannot be processed.'
    Any suggestions/help are higly appreciated.
    Regards

    You need to set WS 14000029 as a general task.
    You may do the same via the following steps:
    go to t.code OOCU
    from the screen drilll down CRM --> CRM-MKT
    now select CRM-MKT-EAL and click on Assign Agents.
    Now click on CRM: Maintain Business Partner Package (name) | id (WS 14000029)
    and click the attributes button from the application toolbar.
    You will get a pop up. Select the Radio button General task. and click transfer

  • Trigger a workflow from ABAP Webdynpro

    My Scenario:
    Step 1: When a user hits the SAVE button on the webdynpro form, check if that data is consistent only and trigger a message(I have a BAPI to handle this check).
    Step 2: If the data is consistent, then trigger a workflow to send an alert to an agent along with the data user entered on the form.
    Step 3: AGENT shall review the data(Same form from step 1 should appear here) and will have the option to SUBMIT / POST or REJECT. If SUBMITTED, data will be posted to R/3(I have a 2nd BAPI to handle this). If REJECTED, send an alert back to the USER who entered data in step 1.
    I checked lots of threads from the forum, none gave me a complete idea. Can any one give me a good documentation to trigger workflow from webdynpro to handle my requirement.
    I am new to webdynpro.
    I checked this blogs & articles also...
    /people/ginger.gatling/blog/2005/12/14/create-new-uis-for-existing-workflow-tasks-with-abap-web-dynpro-and-universal-worklist

    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Kiran

    Hello Kiran,
    I slightly misunderstood you requirement earlier. But if I am not wrong this time, here is what you need to do:
    1) The Web dynpro form that you are creating is only for data entry purpose. But the agent who is going to review the data will need an access to this form. So this means that you need to save the content of this form to the database and provide a URL in the workflow workitem which the agent can use to open the web dynpro application with the form data on it.
    2) To access the correct form, you need to save the form data in a Z-table with a GUID attached to it. Generate this GUID using GUID_CREATE function module. In the window controller of the Web dynpro component, there will be a handleDefault method where you can read the parameter'GUID' from the incoming request and use it to read the form data from the database to display the form.
    3) You can use Object Oriented programming approach for creating Workflow. Check the following article to learn how to do that:
    [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0409e6c-d213-2d10-3cb6-c12d417626c1?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
    4) Create a Z-class and use this class as object type in your workflow (instead of BOR object).
    5) In the constructor of this class, pass a parameter GUID, which would be passed when you create an object of this class in the Web Dynpro forms "OnActionSave" method.
    6) Create a method in this class which will do the task of calling the BAPI to save the Acct Document. This method will be used in a Background task in a workflow step (after the agent approves the workitem).
    7) Create a method in the class which generates the URL to the webdynpro application with the GUID passed as parameter.
    (for eg: http://urltoserver/appname?GUID='guidoftheform').
    8) In your save method of WD application, call the method to raise event that triggers the workflow (using OO)
    lv_guid    = '04AE4546EED7101DE10000000A424026'. "use GUID_CREATE
           lv_objtype = 'ZWFCLASS'. " create a Z-class of your own
       TRY.
          CALL METHOD cl_swf_evt_event=>raise
            EXPORTING
              im_objcateg = 'CL'
              im_objtype  = lv_objtype
              im_event    = 'FORM_APPROVE' " this event needs to be defined in ZWFCLASS
              im_objkey   = lv_guid.
        CATCH: cx_swf_evt_exception.
      ENDTRY.
    Please read through the workflow using Object Oriented document in the URL that I have mentioned above before you read through these instructions.
    There would be a way to do this using BOR objects, but this is the way that I have tried and tested to use trigger workflows from Web dynpro applications.
