To Select Max Value in the table

Hello All,
I want to select a record from a Z table which has the following fields.
POSID
STLNR
DATUM
UZEIT
UNAME
TCODE
I have to select LAstest record depending upon the datum & uzeit field
I am using like this.
    SELECT SINGLE UNAME
                  MAX (DATUM)
                  MAX (UZEIT) FROM Z48C_ZDIS_MD51 INTO
                  (G_R_MD51-UNAME,G_R_MD51-DATUM,G_R_MD51-UZETIT)
                                        WHERE POSID = WA_PRPS-POSID
                                        GROUP BY DATUM UZEIT.
But Its giving syntax error.

Select All records into internal table. Sort descending by date and time. Read the first record.
data: itab type table of ztable with header line.
select * into itab from ztable.
sort itab descending by datum uzeit.
read table itab index 1.

I have a huge table (20,000,000+ records) with the following columns:
[Time], [User], [Value]
The values in [Value] column can recur for a single User at a Time e.g.
2015-01-01, Me, X

2015-01-02, Me, Z
2015-01-02, Me, X
2015-01-02, Me, Z
For each day, and for every user I want to have the maximum recurring value :

PS: I want the MOST optimized way of achieving this functionality, bcause I am expecting a growth on the raw table over time, so PERFORMANCE is of great consideration.

1) using row number function

Fetching more than one row from a table after selecting one value from the dropdown

Hi Experts,
How can we fetch more than one row from a table after selecting one value from the dropdown.
The scenario is that I have some entries in the dropdown like below
A               B               C
11256          VID          911256
11256          VID          811256
11256          SONY      11256
The 'B' values are there in the dropdown. I have removed the duplicate entries from the dropdown so now the dropdownlist has only two values.for eg- 'VID' and'SONY'. So now, after selecting 'VID' from the dropdown I should get all the 'C' values. After this the "C' values are to be passed to other methods to fetch some data from other tables.
Request your help on this.

I hope I understand your request proberly, since this is more about Java and less about WebDynpro, but if I'm wrong, just follow up on this.
Supposed you have some collection of your original table data stored in variable "origin". Populate a Hashtable using the values from column "B" (let's assume it's Strings) as keys and an ArrayList of whatever "C" is (let's assume String instances, too) as value (there's a lot of ways to iterate over whatever your datasource is, and since we do not know what your datasource is, maybe you'll have to follow another approach to get b and c vaues,but the principle should remain the same):
// Declare a private variable for your Data at the appropriate place in your code
private Hashtable temp = new Hashtable<String, ArrayList<String>>();
// Then, in the method you use to retrieve backend data and populate the dropdown,
// populate the Hashtable, too
Iterator<TableData> a = origin.iterator();
while (a.hasNext()) {
     TableData current = a.next();
     String b = current.getB();
     String c = current.getC();
     ArrayList<String> values = this.temp.get(b);

So after this, you'll have a Hashtable with the B values als keys and collections of C values of this particular B as value:
VID --> (911256, 811256)
SONY --> (11256)
Use
temp.keySet()
to populate your dropdown.
After the user selects an entry from the dropdown (let's say stored in variable selectedB), you will be able to retrieve the collection of c's from your Hashtable
// In the metod you handle the selection event with, get the c value collection

ArrayList<String> selectedCs = this.temp.get(selectedB);

You only need to use max and min. Once you have it, select the max lower than max and the min biggest than min.

Select max date from a table with multiple records

I need help writing an SQL to select max date from a table with multiple records.
Here's the scenario. There are multiple SA_IDs repeated with various EFFDT (dates). I want to retrieve the most recent effective date so that the SA_ID is unique. Looks simple, but I can't figure this out. Please help.

Min and Max values from entire table

i have requirement in which i need to find the min and max values from the entire table.
See the sample data

i want the output as 100 and 5700.. how can i achieve this in a single query. Please through some light on this topic..!

You can fill selected values of the table by writing to it or the corresponding property using a property node - the table is just a 2D array of strings. I think for your "disable" question you are referring to the shortcut menu (when you right click). If you are using LabVIEW 8.x, you can edit or disable that shortcut menu - just right click on your table at edit time and choose Advanced >> Run-Time Shortcut Menu.

I need a query for selecting distinct values from two tables with one condition.
for eg:
there are two tables a & b.
in table a there are values like age,sex,name,empno and in table b valuses are such as age,salary,DOJ,empno.
here what i need is with the help of empno as unique field,i need to select distinct values from two tables (ie) except age.
can anybody please help me.

SSAS Tabular DAX- Need to get MAX value of the MIN (top)hierarchy level row

EDIT:
I got closer to resolving the issue using MAX.
However, If I remove the department hierarchy and just place on the MAX measure I get the single largest value out of all departments.
It would be ideal if the measure could still SUM the "top level" values across everything in the system if the hierarchy is not placed on the rows grouping.
So it returns the largest value for a given department, but if the department hierarchy isn't present I need it to return a SUM of all the level 1 values for all departments...
Basically return MAX value from the MIN L1ID's DeptLevel value, but I can't seem to construct that DAX query. So if DepartmentID hierarchy is on display it gets MAX per row, but if that is removed it dips into MAX GoalValue for each L1ID grouping with
the MIN DeptLevel.

I have a rather odd data table I'm bringing into a SSAS Tabular model.
Instead of having all data at each child level and then it adding up to a grand total in the parent, it has a grand total predefined at each child level.
I just need this tool to display the raw data if at all possible instead of trying to aggregate everything. Filter on active level, ignore child levels.
Is there a way to do that?
Example:
SalesGoalsByDepartmentLevel:
Level1 (top level) = 5,000
Level2( lower level) = 0
Level3(lower still) = 500
Level 4(lowest) = 4,250
So note that adding up all the child levels is still $250 shy of the top 5,000.
IT is just an odd business rule, basically each level is expected to meet that goal or exceed it, the top level goal is 5,000 but management doesn't care where that last 250 comes from, they do are that each defined level is met.
These levels are in a hierarchy so if I view the top level of the hierarchy it adds up to 4250+500+5000=9750 when I just want to see 5,000 at the top level and the details when they drill down.
I added a filter to just filter to the top level, but then when I drill down of course those lower levels are blank.
Is there a way to filter on the current displayed level without aggregating all child levels?

You might want to take a look at the Parent-Child Hierarchies pattern here:

You might write DAX code to check what is the "current" level (see BrowseDepth measure in the sample file you can download) and depending on its level, se the filter to blank to all the levels below, so you don't aggregate "children".
Just an idea, I'm not sure if it corresponds to your requirement and I don't have time to make more tests.

You just need to loop at your select-option field and take the values from low and high fields.
for. e.g
loop at s_werks .
move:s_werks-low to <your itab>
if not s_werks-high is initial .
move: s_werks-high to <youritab>
endif .
append <your itab>
endloop .
OR use select statement.

this is actual requirement
in the CAT2.
1. Add a new column for WBS description and derive the value as per the FS
2. Retrieve project number and description and update in the column specified
3. When a service order is selected it should do the same for 2.
4. Finally repeat for the worklist view (which is the section above)
   here i am able to display values at data entry area
for service order and network but not worklist area ?
    updation is not coming, can u plz go throw it..

Msg 110, Level 15, State 1, Line 5
There are fewer columns in the INSERT statement than values specified in the VALUES clause. The number of values in the VALUES clause must match the number of columns specified in the INSERT statement.
How can I correct this problem?

The master database records all the system-level information for a SQL Server system, so best practise would be not to create any user-defined
object within it.
To change your default database(master by default) of your login to another, follow the next steps so that next time when connected you don't have to use "USE dbname" to switch database.
Open SQL Server Management Studio
--> Go to Object explorer(the left panel by default layout)
--> Extend "Security"
--> Extend "Logins"
--> Right click on your login, click "propertites"
--> Choose the "Default database" at the bottom of the pop-up window.
--or simply by T-SQL

I have used all the steps as you mentioned in your previous reply....including checking Mulitple Selection Check Box..
Iam able to get the results when I am selecting one value..
and also I am able to handle multiple values the in the query by using IN :Parameter, but seems when we select more than one value from the parameter drop down i think the Bi Publisher is sending the values in concatenated form something ilke
ex: "'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'" ,and when trying to display the parameters values in the output, its throwing the error as 'missing right paranthesis' ....on the whole do you have any solution which would handle
1.Single selection.
2.Multiple selection.
3.'ALL' Values.
4.Separating the concatenated string into individual strings and dispaly them on the output of the report..etc..in case of Mulitple selection.
Ex:
Concatenated String from BI Publisher:"'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'"
Expected Output on the report:ACCOUNT,HR,SALES
