To set a dropdown list for one column in the excel file before downloading

Hi all,
I am downloading an excel file which has the format of an internal table with a number of fields. I want to set a dropdown list for one column in the excel file. How can i do this?

If by "...based on lov" you mean “Display as Text (based on LOV, does not save state)” the answer is yes. This type of column is not treated as an updatable column (the implementation is by using a regular <td> tag and not the <input> tag) so the Apex engine ignores the Element Attributes field.
As far as I can tell, this column can only be styled in the query itself (and you need to implement the LOV yourself).
Another option is to use a select list and disabled it, but the column will appear in gray, and with small font size it doesn’t look that good.

How to display attributes for a CHAR in the Excel file (BEx)?

Hi all,
I knew that I can display attributes for a CHAR (ex: attributes - address, phone#, zip code for CHAR-Customer) when I run Web- based report. But I cannot find this function after I export the file to Excel. In the context menu for excel file, I only see 'select filter'(but no display attribute values), drilldown, properties (for query). Is it something that I cannot have in the excel file for the BEx report?

In fact, I found that I can move IOs in the 'rows', 'column', and 'free CHARs' and so do end user by using 'local view'. That means every one can change the query definition, right?
For your last question, that was what I want to know. How can I prevent 'end users' change those query definitions? Is it about 'role' setting, right? But I am not the one to do 'role' setting.

How to disable drill option for one column in the WebI Report

Hi,
How to disable drill option in a column in WebI?
When the Drill option is enabled by default all the column in the report will have that enabled,
I ahve added Hierarchy in the Custom hierarhcy list in Universe.
I am using BOXI3.1 WebI Reports.
But I wanted only the hierarchy column to have that drill option enabled, rest all column should display text data.
PLease let me know if you have any idea.

Cretae the variable at the report level (may be with the same definiton) and then use that variable in the table
to disable the drill. It will be displayed as normal text object.
Drill functionality is enabled only on the objetcs coming from the universe.

I need to filter the report on the basis of one of the filter on the column which is created by custom calculation :
YEAR ("Order Header Attributes"."Status Date" ) * 100 + WEEK("Order Header Attributes"."Status Date" )
and this in the Number format.
I need the filter as : 2013 + Week(CurentWeek) -1 = 201302

Validating the first two columns of a excel file when importing?

Hi everyone,
I have an excel file in the presentation server which has to be uploaded into prog.First the user adds a additonal column in the excel file.
For example the excel file is intially in this way,
col1 col2 col3 col4 col5
Now the user adds one more column 'colx' in the excel sheet and he will upload it into the prog.Before uploading programatically we have to validate that the first two columns of the excel file should be col1 colx(the newly added one).How can I do it?

I have one more problem.Now in the excel file I may have only 5 columns in the future it may have more than that.So the internal table which will hold the uploaded values from excel file should be dynamic.I can't declare the internal table with 5 or 6 columns like that.If the user adds some columns in the excel file and upload it,the internal table should hold these columns also.
i hope u understood my requirement.Can u give me any ideas.If u have any sample code for this kind of requirement.

In BI Publisher Report of excel output for one column is filled with spaces

We have issue in BI Publisher report of excel output.
In Excel output for one column few records are displaying as left alignment
and few record are displaying as right alignment.
If you are having any xml tag or any syntax for removing spaces for left side
Please help on this issue.

Where is this example spreadsheet? Without seeing it I can only guess at what you are asking.
To make a drop-down list (a pop-up menu in Numbers-speak), format the cell as a pop-up then edit and add to the list of items.
If the example spreadsheet is pulling in a dollar value based on what car you chose in the pop-up, it is probably using LOOKUP or one of the other lookup functions, getting the information from another table (a lookup table). If, instead, these dollar values are what you are choosing in the pop-up, then you need to create a pop-up with these values in it.
The Help menu includes a link to a page where you can download the Numbers Users Manual. It also has a link to the Formulas and Functions guide. Both are useful to new users.

Multiple select list for one field in form

I have a form , which is having many fields. One of the field are day/date. In this field i have to take 3 dropdown lists. like one for date, one for day and another for year. I have created three lov's for the day,date and year but for the field day/date i am able to apply only one lov. Any way so that i can display all the three lov for one field
example
day/date: day -- (dropdown list)
date -- (dropdown list)
year -- (dropdown list)

nope, I just gave u an example to combime day , date and year fields in one select list, it does not matter whether they are in one table or multiple table and you dont require to create any tables for this, I assumed your lov for day / date / year are dynamic not static.

Try using POPUP_GET_VALUES function module in the begining of the Function module this gives a POP to provide a value to you
