ToC in the Aggregator

I have a feeling I already know the answer to this, but is there a way to remove the ToC in the Aggregator?

I think you'll find this widget was not originally designed to work with the Aggregator.  Go back to the widget developer and ask if he has a version that does work with Aggregator.

    I used the Aggregator to link multiple projects together as once course. I know that you can use a widget to hide the duration if you are using the Captivate TOC. I want to know if there is a way to hide the duration shown on the TOC created by the Aggregator.

    Hi I installed the widget to hide the duration on the TOC in my Adobe Captivate 5 project and it worked great.  However when I combine the Flash files in an Aggregator project it no longer works and the duration is showing at the bottom of the Aggregator TOC.  I have the TOC set to be the same as my first Flash in the project which doesn't show the duration because of the widget.

  • Sounds overlap into the aggregator !

    Hi everybody,
    I have 5 modules all beginning with sound. When I insert the modules into the aggregator, the sounds overlap on the first one during 4-5 seconds! What to do ?

    I'm sorry it took so long to reply, Michelle, but I don't think I would've been able to help much anyway. I hope you've already resolved the issues you were having. Frankly, I'm not very happy with the Aggregator, and have abandoned it for the time being.  In the one course I did publish using the Aggregator, however, I don't recall seeing the last issue you described.  The topics in the TOC should take you to the specific slides they're linked to, regardless of where they are in your SWFs.
    As for testing on a Web server, that's always a good idea. Performance on your local machine or network can get pretty dicey, and you may find that at least some of your issues disappear when your modules are deployed on the Web.  At the very least, you should publish the HTML files and test in a browser (as opposed to the standalone Flash Player or the Captivate preview window).
    The only other recommendation I would make is to test all of your individual SWFs thoroughly before publishing your Aggregator project. If you know your movies are functioning as expected, then at least you can narrow it down to the Aggregator being the culprit.

  • Captivate 5 using the aggregator, preloader loops and will not start.

    All videos were created in Captivate 5, AS3 on Windows 7 Professional, Internet Explorer 8.
    I created and loaded a video series using Aggregator to our website on IE8 and it worked great. I needed to revise a slide for audio and made the changes. I republished the videos and loaded them again to our website. But now, the video launches with a pre-loader that just remains on the screen as if it were looping. I have deleted/published/loaded several times, but cannot get the video to play. When I preview the video on my desk it works as expected. The TOC works great-this is why I want to use the aggregator. I have deleted all the published files from my computer and the web site-more than once and started over. Not sure what else to do. I have cleared the pre-loader from the aggregator but it still displays. All videos were created on my local drive and saved to a network drive where I can load them to the web server.
    If I do not use the aggregator, the .htm pages open without a problem however I want to use the TOC. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I have scanned the Captivate Forums looking for a solution to my problem, I can’t find a solution.

    Hi Rod,
    Sorry it is taking me so long to answer you back. I have other projects at work besides videos that I need to get completed.
    The videos series I created, using the demonstration mode (we show them how to use our software i.e.; run a payroll, create a purchase order etc), is a set of 9 videos. There maybe a few of them that are over 50 slides but the whole series is about 30 minutes long. Each of them have audio, no click boxes but I do use highlight boxes. With the Aggregator, I have no pre-loader selected; it just seems to default in.  Once all created and published, I load them to our web site for our clients to view.
    When we were on CP3 and using menu builder I never had any problems linking the videos together, but I really would love to use the Aggregator. When I view it on my desktop, it plays great, the TOC is on the left and I can choose any of the 9 to view. But they will not play on our web site…the preloader just sits there.
    I have a LOT of videos to create/update. Any help is greatly appreciated. I apologize if I am not explaining this well enough.

  • Dragging multiple pages from TOC to the topic to create automatic hyperlinks

    In my project, I have few topics that contains the hyperlinks of approximately 10 topics. Now, I drag individual page from the TOC to the topic page to create automatic hyperlink. However, I want to select multiple pages in the TOC and drag them at once to create appropriate hyperlinks at once. This will save my time in creating various links.

  • Different colors for the aggregation in the report

    Hi
    In my BEx report I require to show the aggregation in different colors.
    That is suppose my report has 3 characteristics and 2 keyfigures. When the 'Result' appears for characteristic1 it should be shown in blue color(not specific) and when the result appears for characteristic2 it should be shown in red color and when result appears for characteristic3 it should be shown in green color and similarly.
    Has any one already implemented this?

    But this is not what I am looking for.
    I require the result rows in different colors.
    Suppose the result row is based on aggregation of Characteristic 3 then the result row should appear in blue color.
    Suppose the result row is based on aggregation of Characteristic 2 then the result row should appear in green color. and so on.
    Please help on this.

  • How to format the report with the aggregated value

    I have 2 characteristics and 3 KFs in the infocube.
    First field is Cost Center
    Second field is creation Date
    3rd field is KF1
    4th field is KF2
    5th field is KF3
    I have put the date field( in the row) as this is required for calculating formula for KFs. But I have set that as No display.
    The date in the info cube is as follows.
    Cost Ceneter  Date( no Display)   KF1     KF2      KF3
    CC1           01/01/2006          100     150      200
    CC1           02/02/2006          75      100      95
    CC1           05/02/2006          125      95      125
    CC2           01/02/2006          75       25      85
    CC2           02/02/2006          85       65      10
    As the Date field is in query set to No display so the date appearing in the report is as follows
    CC1       100        150        200
              75         100        95
              125          95        125
    CC2       75           25        85
              85           65        10
    But I want the aggregated value at cost senter level i.e.
    CC1       300         245       420
    CC2       160         90         95
    I can not remove the Date frield from query as there is a formula variable defined on the date field.
    Please let me know how to bring the report to the required format.

    If you are in new Bex, you can do it.
    You will have to create another (set of) CKF on top of the current ones (which do exception aggregation on DOCNUM) and set the exception aggregation on date.
    Say you have
    CH1--CH2CH3--CKF1
    To have a 'before aggregation' behavior for CKF1 when CH3 is not present, you will create a CKF2 = CKF1 with exception aggregation on CH3.
    Now, if you want to remove CH2 and have the 'before aggregation' behavior you will need to create another CKF3 = CKF2 with exception aggregation on CH2.
    ie for each level of aggregation, you will have to define a new CKF/Formula with corresponding exception aggregation - this is what will be needed to get you your output.

    The same can be done in a PDF using Acrobat .
    You can add bookmarks here.
    On the left hand side of the page ,you will see few options on the pane.Choose the option bookmark and you can create ,expand or delete bookmarks from there.
    That is equivalent to TOC in word.

  • How to hide ToC in the body of an ebook?

    Hey folks, I have kind of a weird query. Keep in mind that everything I know about InDesign I've taught myself over the past month, so I may be missing somethng major.
    As part of an internship I'm creating ebooks, and have to make sure the ones I create look the same as ebooks previously created for my employer (better yet, I've had to do so from scratch!). In their previous ebooks (EPUB file format) the table of contents displayed by the ereader makes it clear a specific TOC style was used to create it (it has headings and subheadings, so it's not just the default style that pulls from file names) BUT there is NO table of contents anywhere within the body of the ebook itself. There's also no blank page where a TOC might be hidden with a hidden layer. 
    I've created a TOC style to match theirs, but I can't get it to show up in the TOC Styles dropdown menu when I go to export the Book file to EPUB unless the TOC document is also included in the Book file, and as I said, I can't have the TOC in the body of the ebook itself, just in the menu displayed by an ereader.
    Any advice?

    No, I haven't tried either of those fixes yet, but I will. Not sure how to save as IDML but I'll find a tutorial for it somewhere.
    Is it relevant to those troubleshooting techniques that I'm running a trial version of InDesign?
    @Ellis home, yes, I have tried exporting the ebook and the TOC only shows up as the Default style (so the file names show up as the TOC), which is the only style available in the TOC Styles dropdown menu right now.

  • How can I create a general TOC using the titles of my books TOCS

    I have a document that includes the information of 6 different books, each one has its own TOC at the beginning of the chapter. The chapter title is only written as the title in the TOC. In the first book I want to create a general index that shows the 6 chapter names. I have tried to create a TOC, but it just appears blank. I think that's because I haven't written the titles, they were created in each chapter TOC by InDesign.  I really think there must be a way to create this general TOC but I just can't figure it out. Can you help me, please?

    Create every TOC with a title paragraph style which is not the same as the title styles in the text.
    Create a new document, assamble all documents in a book fille indb, create a new TOC which reads out the paragraph style of your TOC’s titles, include all book files in the definition of this TOC only.

  • TOC at the beginning of every chapter

    I am working on a publication.
    I included a TOC at the beginning of the document:
    Chapter one
    part one
    part two
    Chapter two
    part one
    part two
    Chapter three ...
    So far, so good, but I also want to include the same TOC at the beginning of each chapter,
    this time only containing the part of the TOC that is relevant to that chapter:
    for example: Chapter two should start witch a TOC, containing:
    2.  Chapter two
    part one
    part two
    But it shouldn't contain any of the information about chapter 1 or 3.
    Can this be done?
    At the moment, my publication is just 1 long InDesign document, not an InDesign book or something...
    I accomplish what I want by creating a TOC, and manually delete (for each chapter) the parts that aren't relevant to a specific chapter....
    Any help would be appreciated...

    I would create the TOC as a threaded story.
    The first text frame(s) before the first chapter, second before the second, etc.
    All that you would need to do then would be resize each text frame(s) to fit the correct part of the TOC for that chapter...

  • How do I insert/update a TOC in the Bookmap?

    I am rather stumped, how do I use a bookmap to create a complete PDF with TOC in FM9? Everybody (well, almost..) wants a TOC but I found nothing in the help and did not succeed trying for myself. It seems that I would need to insert a TOC in the frontmatter section.
    Please excuse if there is already a thread, a link would be helpful then as I did search but did not find this particular problem in the forum. Maybe it's so simple that I am the only guy having problems.
    I have also read into the help of FM10 but found nothing there either. Is any information available from adobe at all? Updating to FM10 would be an option if necessary.

    thanks for clarifying this. We are currently using FM7.2 for our DITA output and are proceeding as you described. I had hoped/expected that FM9 or 10 supports generating right from the bookmap, particularly as Adobe places so much emphasis on this feature.
    FMx is how Framemaker should have been originally designed : )  We have been using 1.0 because it works better than the DITA application pack for FM7.2. I took a close look at the 1.1 version now and think this is really what I need. My next problem is to get my boss to share this view..

  • Books are not shown in the TOC of the printed document

    I am using Robohelp 10. I have a project with several books and topics. When I generate a web help, everything is fine. But now, I have to generate a printed version of it. My problem is that on the table of contents of the generated document, the books are now shown. I need those books to be shown. Please advise.
    I can not post the project I am using so I just used a very simple project which I created.
    This is the original TOC.
    and this is the resulting TOC in the printed document.
    The books should still be part of the contents same with the original TOC.
    I do not know what is wring with my set-up since I only used the default one. It will be great if you can reply to me ASAP since we need to publish our help document. Thanks a lot!

    OK, the samples are a known quantity and normally generate correctly. Thus we know it is something about your environment, assuming you used the supplied style mapping template?
    In the last page of the print dialog, are you using the supplied Rh Style Mapping template?
    After generating with whatever you are using, have you tried right-clicking alongside the TOC and choosing Update Field. That might correct the TOC.
    What version of Word are you using?

  • Want to see constant value of CPU not the aggregated one from the cube?

    When I see my layout with fiscyear ,it shows the aggregated values for Quantity,Cost Per Unit,0Amount,which is distributed across period.
    For example if one WBS and one uear(2008) -0Quantity(12),CPU(100) to four periods of one fiscyear.The distribution would be as shown below:- 
    Period       0Quantity      CPU            0Amount
    003.2008         3               100              300
    004.2008         3               100              300
    005.2008         3               100              300
    0006.2008       3               100              300
    Total               12               400            1200
    So in my layout I'll be able to see :-
    fiscyear        0Quantity           CPU         0Amount.
    2008                12                  400            1200
    So 12 * 400 <> 1200 which is logically incorrect.
    Is there any way by which we can get the constant or average value of CPU from the cube???
    Any help would be appreciated.

    If you are using Query designer for generating report, you can have this property...In the properties of CPU>Calculate result as...>Average value...
    This will give you the result as average of all the values.
