Tomahawk inputCalendar accepting invalid date values

Hi,
I'm using a inputcalendar in one of the screens that we are developing. There are coupleof issues that we are facing while using this component. We are using MyFaces 1.1.1. The date format for the component is MM/dd/yyyy.
1. In the text field, I enter the date as 31/12/4009 and then I click on the calendar icon. The date selected in the image is 07/12/2011.
2. Again, I enter the date as 31/12/4009 and then submit the page. The value changes to 07/12/2011 and gets saved.
The date value is getting converted automatically.
Please help me solve this. Thanks.

  • SimpleDateFormat.parse accepts invalid date string

    SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy").parse(...) accepts invalid input strings (e.g. "1.1.2gsd001") without raising an exception.

    Example:
    import java.text.*;
    import java.util.*;

    public static void main(String[] args) throws ParseException {
    String s = "1.1.2gsd001";

    Thanks for your help.

    Tahnks s lot.
    Final code is (and it workes well):

        ParsePosition pp = new ParsePosition(0);

        sdf.setLenient(false);
        Date d = sdf.parse(s, pp);
        if (pp.getIndex() != s.length())
          throw new ParseException(String.format("Unparseable date: %s", s), pp.getIndex());
        GregorianCalendar gc = new GregorianCalendar();

  • Formatting a date value in Reporting Services

    I am a bit rusty and would be very grateful if you could help. I am using Reporting Services.
    I have a simple report that gives the date_ordered value. Unfortunately, when I ORDER BY date_ordered, it sorts the date by number of days first, so 31-Oct and 31-May appear first. How can I get date_ordered to sort correctly, eg with today's date appearing
    first, yesterday's date second, et al?
    The dataset query is very simple: Select date_ordered, date dispatched, from Orders order by date_ordered. The first value to appear is 31-Oct, the second is 31-May, etc, so it is sorting by the day numerical value, as far as I can see.
    I'm sure it's very obvious, but I can't see it.
    With many thanks.

    In sorting tab use expression like
    =CDate(Fields!Yourdatefield.Value)
    I hope your field doesnt have any invalid date values else it would break.

  • Invalid date/time value error

    I downloaded a trial version of Acrobat XI Pro when I try to save or edit and resave a document I get 'invalid date/time value', error.  I presume it's set for the US and not the UK, can you tell me where I can change the date/time format?
    I'm running on Windows 7

    Hi Rave
    Susan's on leave at the moment so I'm replying on her behalf in the vain hope we can sort things before she gets back and before the trial period runs out!  I'm not sure I understand what you mean by column of date and time - we have a review date in the Word document before we pdf but that's all.  Yes we are saving to a sharepoint server.
    Thanks

  • Invalid Date Is Accepted by JHS / ADF

    Just found out that when you enter an invalid date, for example : 32-25-2007, the date is accepted and no exception is thrown. While debugging I found out that the ParseException that gets thrown in the parse method of the JhsDateFormatter is lost in the ADF framework somewhere.
    This feature appears when using Jdev 10.1.2.1 / Jhs 10.1.2.1 (build 27) : View=JSP ; Model=ADF BC.
    I solved it by using the following workaround :
    - created : MyJhsDateFormatter extends JhsDateFormatter
    - override method : parse(String formatString, String parseThisString)
        public Object parse(String formatString, String parseThisString)
            throws ParseException
            final String method = "Object parse(String formatString, String parseThisString)";
            _log.debug(method);
            Object obj = null;
            try
                obj = super.parse(formatString, parseThisString);
            catch (ParseException pe)
                // message :  JHS-00114: Date 32-12-2005 must be of format dd-MM-yyyy
                throw new JhsJboException("JHS-00114",
                    new String[]
                        parseThisString,
                        ((formatString != null) ? formatString
                                                : getDefaultFormatString())
            return obj;
        }- changed the custom property JHS_FORMATTER for ViewObject attributes
    - run application and ... feature is gone ; )

    Paskal,
    Thanks for the fix. Unfortunatelym just too late for inclusion in 10.1.2.2.
    We will publish shortly a small runtime patch for this bug.

  • Invalid text value. A text field contains invalid data. Check the value and try again

    Hello,
    I am having a problem with the error mentioned in the title. I see alot of others have experienced the same problem, but I have quite a twist to it.
    I see the problem when I try to edit a list item, and then try to save the changes.
    Here what I see in the ULS log:

    I have 3 front end servers(fx wfe1, wfe2, wfe3).  And here is the twist.
    If I access the library directly through wfe1 and wfe2, I get the error. If I access the library via wfe3 if works just fine.
    So because of this, I think it is safe to assume that is has nothing to do with the character limit of 255. Nor does it have anything to do with the field type, since it is already set to mulitible lines of text.
    So. Any ideas?

    Check if there is any change in web.config of these servers
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2880758
    To work around this issue, limit the length of the personal message in the invitation to 256 characters or less.
    This is a known issue. Microsoft is working to resolve this issue.

    To solve the problem you may have to change the field's parent type to "note". To do that you have to open your fldtypes... file under Templates/xml and change the line to:
    "<Field Name="ParentType">Note</Field>" from "<Field Name="ParentType">Text</Field>"
    You might also have to add a sql type if your text needs to be longer than 255 characters
    <Field Name=”SQLType”>ntext</Field>
    and inherit from SPFieldMultiLineText instead of SPFieldText

  • Couldn't export schema because of invalid argument value and other errors.

    Hello, All.
    I am using an oracle 10g database, which is running on a Redhat9 linux server, to manage our lab information.
    I plan to export a schema (only tables, not the real data) into a file.
    First, I used the Enterprise Manager to export. I went through and complete the export job. After submitting, the system says:
    There is a problem writing to the export files: ORA-39094: Parallel execution not supported in this database edition..
    So I just copy the PL/SQL code which would be send to the source database and comment the set_parallel procedure.
    The code is listed here:
    declare
    h1 NUMBER;
    begin
    begin
    h1 := dbms_datapump.open (operation => 'EXPORT', job_mode => 'SCHEMA', job_name => 'EXPORT000468', version => 'COMPATIBLE');
    end;
    --begin
    --dbms_datapump.set_parallel(handle => h1, degree => 1);
    --end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT.LOG', directory => 'DATA_FILE_DIR', filetype => 3);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'KEEP_MASTER', value => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.metadata_filter(handle => h1, name => 'SCHEMA_EXPR', value => 'IN(''FLOWLIMS'')');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'ESTIMATE', value => 'BLOCKS');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT%U.DMP', directory => 'DATA_FILE_DIR', filetype => 1);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'INCLUDE_METADATA', value => 1);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.data_filter(handle => h1, name => 'INCLUDE_ROWS', value => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'DATA_ACCESS_METHOD', value => 'AUTOMATIC');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.start_job(handle => h1, skip_current => 0, abort_step => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.detach(handle => h1);
    end;
    end;
    I paste the code in an SQL*Plus session and execute it. The system says:
    declare
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-39001: invalid argument value
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 79
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DATAPUMP", line 2486
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DATAPUMP", line 2718
    ORA-06512: at line 23
    I am not very sure which part is wrong for I have exported another schema successfully using this method just now.
    Any advice is highly appreciated!
    Qian

    Well, I will list more details about how to complete the job here.
    1) Go to the Enterprise Manager, log in as FLOWLIMS (I just want to export the schema FLOWLIMS)
    2)Go to the "Maitenance"
    3)Under the "Utilities", select the "Export to files"
    4)in the next page: Export: Export Type, select "Schemas"
    5) in the next page, select the schema "FLOWLIMS"
    6) in the next page, select these parameters:
    Maximam Number of Threads in Export job: 1
    Estimate Disk Space: Blockes
    7) when I click the "Estimate Disk Space Now", it says :
    Export Estimate Failed
    There is a problem writing to the export files: ORA-39094: Parallel execution not supported in this database edition..
    8) So I give up extimating
    9) Other options:
    I select "Generate Log file"
    The Directory Object is the default value "DATA_FILE_DIR"
    The Log File is the default value "EXPDAT.LOG"
    10) the advanced options are like these:
    Content: What to export from the Source Database: "Metadata only"
    Export content: "include all objects"
    Flashback: select "As the specified System Change Number (SCN)
    SCN: just accept the default number 28901412
    Query: select nothing. I need all fields of all tables.
    11) in the next page, I accept the default directory object "DATA_FILE_DIR" and the default File Name "EXPDAT%U.DMP". The Maximam File Size is blank, I just leave it blank.
    12) in the next page "Schedule" , I select to start the job immediatly.
    13) in the next page "Review", it shows:
    Export Type          Schemas
    Statistics type          Estimate optimizer statistics when data is imported
    Parallelism          1
    Files to Export          DATA_FILE_DIR EXPDAT%U.DMP
    Log File          DATA_FILE_DIR EXPDAT.LOG
    and the PL/SQL is like that:
    declare
    h1 NUMBER;
    begin
    begin
    h1 := dbms_datapump.open (operation => 'EXPORT', job_mode => 'SCHEMA', job_name => 'EXPORT000487', version => 'COMPATIBLE');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parallel(handle => h1, degree => 1);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT.LOG', directory => 'DATA_FILE_DIR', filetype => 3);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'KEEP_MASTER', value => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.metadata_filter(handle => h1, name => 'SCHEMA_EXPR', value => 'IN(''FLOWLIMS'')');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'ESTIMATE', value => 'BLOCKS');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT%U.DMP', directory => 'DATA_FILE_DIR', filetype => 1);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'INCLUDE_METADATA', value => 1);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.data_filter(handle => h1, name => 'INCLUDE_ROWS', value => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'DATA_ACCESS_METHOD', value => 'AUTOMATIC');
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.start_job(handle => h1, skip_current => 0, abort_step => 0);
    end;
    begin
    dbms_datapump.detach(handle => h1);
    end;
    end;
    14) after I click the "submit" , it shows:
    Export Submit Failed
    There is a problem writing to the export files: ORA-39094: Parallel execution not supported in this database edition..
    15) I copy the PL/SQL, comment this part:
    --begin
    --dbms_datapump.set_parallel(handle => h1, degree => 1);
    --end;
    I run it in an iSQL*Plus Release 10.1.0.2,

  • Invalid Entry Values in Variable on 0FISCPER

    Dear Friends
    We have a User Entry Query Variable (ZFYVAR1) on (0FISCPER - Fiscal Year/Period).  and we are using "V3" Fiscal Year Variant.  I am not sure this is the way it works or not.. but the problem is..
    This variable accepts the values like "013/2003" to "014/2004". and when query returns the values and when I drill down accorindg to 0FISCPER..I see them starting from "April 2004" to "March 2004"..
    Can some one comment on this...
    My users says, the entered periods were invalie (013/2003 - 014/2004) and it should not take it..
    Thanks
    Mavi

    Ravi,
    First of all there are no Technical Issues and Error Messages..and the requirements are not specific..
    Its basically a concern Y the "Fiscal Year/Period" variable accepting the Invalid Period.. even if it accepts it should not return any result set.. (because there is no such data in the data providers.
    But in my query when I enter "013/2003" to "014/2004". It is fetching the details for "April 2004" to "March 2004"..which is as follows
    April 2004 .......... Key Values
    May 2004 ............ Key Values
    June 2004 ........... Key Values
    July 2004 ........... Key Values
    August 2004.......... Key Values
    September 2004 ...... Key Values
    October 2004 ........ Key Values
    November 2004........ Key Values
    December 2004 ....... Key Values
    January 2004 ........ Key Values
    February 2004 ....... Key Values
    March 2004 .......... Key Values
    Well, I think you can try this if you have any query with a variable on OFISCPER used. try to input invalid dates and see the results..
    Hope I am not confused you...
    Thanks

  • Error while attaching document to report on Portal - Invalid selection valu

    Hello All,
    We are running our reports on Portal and as per the business requirement the users have to create comments or attach documents to certain amounts in certain columns and once they create the comment a document icon shows up near that amount (for example there are 3 columns Budget, actual, balance then the user have to create comment for some amounts which needs explanation) they do that from context menu  Documents -> Create new Comment.
    Now we want those documents to be saved on Infoprovider level and not on master data for any particular object. We have activated the flag "Characteristic is document property" on related infoobjects. We have the flag to display document icon on Infoprovider active in the web template. Now when I run the report I am able to create new comments on first two columns and when the report refreshes it shows me icon near that amount but it gives me errors on third column after the report refreshes itself. Now when I go in portal KM repository where documents are stored I do see the document that I created for the third column as well so looks like the document is getting created and being stored but the issue is when it tries to display the icon on that third column.
    The error I get is this:

    Hi!
    Have you solved this problem? I have the same problem after a SPS implementation (SPS 17). The message appears when we select a single value in a DP (hierarchical filter item) that filters another one, but when I select a node it doesn't.
    Before the patch implementation the apliccation worked ok.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can I exit from paintComponent?  ...or... how can I check for invalid data?

    I'm writing a calendar applet for a programming class and I've nearly completed it but I'm stuck at checking for valid data.
    What seems to be happening is that paintComponent() is being called before actionPerformed.
    In actionPerformed (when they click the button), it checks to make sure they entered a valid month (1 to 12). If the didn't it dispalys a message, but if they did it calls repaint().
    But even if repaint() isn't called, Java still seems to call it before actionPerformed and I get exceptions.
    So I tried checking inside of paintComponent() by using a simple if(...) return; but that doesn't seem to do anything... it just keeps going through with the method.
    So -- Once the user presses my button I want to make sure the data is valid before repainting the screen. How can I do this?

    I validate it in actionPerformed which is called by
    the action listener... that is what you meant right?
    The problem is that it seems paintComponent() is being
    called before I can validate the data with
    actionPerformed(). I need to stop paintComponent()
    from always being calledMVC. (Model, View, Controller)
    Initially the internal value of the data (the model) should be valid (or null with a check in the paintComponent method)
    paintComponent (the view part) shows the state of the valid data.
    You press the button.
    actionPerformed is called (the controller).
    It checks the value and, if valid, writes it to the data (model), then updates the view.
    At no point will the view have to render invalid data, because the model is only updated after actionPerformed checks the value.
    The pattern may be applied with different classes performing the three roles, or different methods in the same class (sometimes it's easier that way for simple cases).

    Hi Mohideen,
    Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
    Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
    A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why does DB2 Data Flow Task query does not accept a date coming from a string or datetime variable in SSIS?

    I am trying to compare a DB2 date format to a date variable from SSIS. I have tried to set the variable as datetime and string. I have also casted the SQL date as date in the data flow task. I have tried a number of combinations of date formats, but no luck
    yet. Does anyone have any insights on how to set a date (without the time) variable and be able to use it in the data flow task SQL? It has to be an easy way to accomplish that. I get the following error below:
    An invalid datetime format was detected; that is, an invalid string representation or value was specified. SQLSTATE=22007".
    Thanks!

    Hi Marcel,
    Based on my research, in DB2, we use the following function to convert a string value to a date value:
    Date(To_Date(‘String’, ‘DD/MM/YYYY’))
    So, you can set the variable type to String in the package, and try the following query:
    ACCOUNT_DATE  BETWEEN  '11/30/2013' AND  Date(To_Date(?, ‘DD/MM/YYYY’))

  • How to convert a date value into week value?

    How to display the date value like '20010203'
    into the week number of the year 2001?
    When i type in the following sql
    select week(chg_time) from site;
    I got this error message
    ORA-00904: invalid column name

    use the to_char function, to format the date into a week number (then you might need to convert that to a number using to_number)
    select to_char( sysdate, 'WW') from dual`

  • WebPart is raising the following error "Invalid data has been used to update the list item.The field you are trying to update may be read only"

    I have created a farm solution and then i deploy it to SharePoint server, the code looks as follow, and i use it to update a page info values (as the current page values represents old info):-
    [ToolboxItemAttribute(false)]
    public partial class VisualWebPart1 : WebPart
    // Uncomment the following SecurityPermission attribute only when doing Performance Profiling using
    // the Instrumentation method, and then remove the SecurityPermission attribute when the code is ready
    // for production. Because the SecurityPermission attribute bypasses the security check for callers of
    // your constructor, it's not recommended for production purposes.
    // [System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission(System.Security.Permissions.SecurityAction.Assert, UnmanagedCode = true)]
    public VisualWebPart1()
    protected override void OnInit(EventArgs e)
    base.OnInit(e);
    InitializeControl();
    using (SPSite site = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.Url))
    using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
    SPList list = web.Lists["Pages"];
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    foreach (SPListItem items in list.Items)
    items["Author"] = "SharePoint";
    items["Created"] = "01/08/2014 01:44 PM";
    items.Update();
    list.Update();
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    but when i try adding this web part to a page i got the following error:-
    Invalid data has been used to update the list item.The field you are trying to update may be read only
    so can anyone advice?

    i only changed lines bitween
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    and
    web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
