Tomcat: Webservice with access for everybody?

how can i set up an webservice with free access for anyone? i mean, that users don't need any usernames or passwords to access my webservice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but authentication is not a default feature of webservices. It is a feature which you as a programmer implement. So if you write a normal webservice and the user has access to its wsdl and knows the location (end-point) then he/she should be able to access it without any problem.

Can my iMac share Internet with access for Apple Mail client?

I'm sharing my internet connection from my iMac over the Airport card to my MacBook. The iMac is connected via ethernet to my cable modem. Everything works great, except my MacBook cannot access my .mac mail from Apple Mail (Safari web access works great). Are there additional services I need to open on my iMac for this to work?

In the Sharing pane of System Preferences, open ports 25 and 110 for outbound and inbound mail access respectively. If it still doesn't work, open port 443 as well. To open a port, click on the Firewall tab, followed by the New button. Choose Other from the drop-down menu at the top, enter the numbers 25 and 110 in the TCP port text field, and click OK.

Changed Mac HD to NO ACCESS for EVERYBODY now I'm locked out and will not boot

HELP...I Imagine I need to enter somehow as root. and change the permissions; however, I'm limited to the OS X startup screen and OS X Utilities right now so a quick response would be appreciated.

This is the first route I took before coming here-tried both repairing permissions and repairing HD using DU....No AVAIL...I get the first screen with Dark Apple and spinning lines in circle beneath, which then goes to an all blank screen where I am stuck: just a grey screen with my cursor arrow (which I can move, but there is nothing to select)...Basically in Mac **** right now as my backups are not doing well...the TWO EXTERNAL 1.5 TB DRIVES WERE BOTH DROPPED INDEPENDENTLY BY MY WIFE AND HER MOTHER AS THEY WERE REARRANGING THINGS IN OUR HOUSE...NOW I HAVE A CRAPPY TM BACKUP FROM AUGUST THAT I WILL ONLY USE AS A VERY LAST RESORT, IT SIMPLY ISNT COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH TO COVER THE 500GB OF APPS AND DATA I USE NEARLY EVERY DAY IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM. ANY HELP (AND THE QUICKER THE BETTER AS I HAVE COURT FILINGS ON THAT MAC AS WELL THAT I NEED TO HAVE ACCESS TO W/I THE NEXT 4 HOURS). AND YOU MAY JUST SAVE A MARRIAGE IN THE PROCESS!

Jdeveloper 11g : Generating webservices with streaming attachments support

We are trying to create a Java Webservice with support for streaming attachments. In 10g we are using the Attachments API from the oracle.webservices.attachments package.
In Jdev 10g we were doing it the following way:

How do we do it in Jdev 11g and we want to deploy the service in WLS 10.1.3. If we try to create a webservice over this class in Jdev 11g we get the error :"no-arg default constructor not present".
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

I created the class as mentioned in the link. But when I try to test the web service, I get the following error :

How to seperate the access for two identical databases from two application

First I have to say I'm sorry... Oracle and the oracle architecture are totally new for me. However I hope to get some help with this.
We have one Oracle 10g server and a database name A with table name X, Y and Z, for Application AA with access for property file AAA.
The server capacity are almost not being used.
Here are my thought, how can I add a database name B with table name X, Y and Z (yes same tables as in database A) data for application BB with access for property file BBB.
how can I seperate the 2 property files (question: on a port number?), so in case there by a mistake should be switch around on 2 property files, it then is impossible to access the date from Application AA to date in database name B.
Password on Database A (incl table) and Database B (incl table) are the same.
Is there any solution to this?

What I would like to do is make use of the resource on one machine.
I have several similar applications, databases, tables and password where data should be totally separated from each other. however I would trying to prevent that there could be any data access from Application AA to Database B in case there should be a switch of property files
I'm familiar with Sybase environment, however isn't there some thing fancy in oracle there can seperate to almost identical applications to access other databases

Hi all,
I have a requirement in which my client will send some data through webservice and i will store that in oracle database, i want to know best approach to handle this. Following are some approches
1- Develop webservice with EJB back
2- Develop webservice with POJO back
3- Develop webservice with service lifecycle and get datsoource/connection from servicelifecycle implementation
4- Deavelop a webservice with DAO class and initialize DAO in constructor of webservice
Please recommend wich approach will be better, please also suggest any other approach.

I think the best approach is to keep your web service layer isolated from the data access layer. Hence i would create a business service or business delegate kind of layer which will be called from web service. Business service then calls the DAO methods. For data access layer you have multiple choice of using hibernate, JPA, JDBC, etc based on your requirement. I would prefer to use some sort of dependency injection for injecting the objects in various layers.

When I use Exporter for MS Access 2002 this error ocurr: 'Error #3478 - XML Exporter'

Hi srabon,
For giving unique access for a specific file in a library, you can go to the library, and select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED, under PERMISSION ribbon, click ‘Stop Inheriting Permissions’, then the file will have unique permissions.
For removing the shared users for a file, firstly, like the above steps, select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED , make sure the file has unique access, then select the users that you want to remove, and click Remove User Persmissions
under PERMISSIONS ribbon.

Which keyboard layout you were using? German, French ... I suppose your layout is reset to the default: US and you are unable to find the "?" or "/" ...
Please have a look into the keyboard viewer, to see how the layout of your keyboard is actually.

Is it possible to use ICS with a Cisco VPN client to allow pass through access for Domain login for a second machine.

I have a current machine Windows 7 Pro with a Cisco VPN 3.5v client that currently connects with access to a customers network.
They shipped a second machine Windows 8.1 Pro without adding local accounts, that is pre-joined to a sub-domain the first system has access to.
Would it be possible to use the first machine as a ICS or Router to allow the second machine to see or access for log in, without returning to the customer site and plugging in for a log in point?
Trying to save a 3 to 4 hr trip and lugging a system back for myself and the rest of the team.

Thanks C F McBlob but I recursively changed the permissions of my Music directory meaning every file and directory beneath it, as well as the directory itself, had the write permissions added.
I used "chmod -R u+w ./Music" and chmod -R g+w ./Music" to do it.
Alas, no cigar. :-(

Keyboard Access For a Column in JTable with default editor as JComboBox

I want to get Key board access for a column in JTable.
The user should be able to select from a drop down list for the column with default
editor set as JComboBox.
Presently,it works fine with mouse,also I am able to focus it with Keyboard using
ALT+Up keys,but how to make drop down list appear.

In addition to setting DO_SUM = 'X' you need to specify function in H_FTYPE field. It should be set to 'AVG' in your case.
ls_fielcat-do_sum = 'X'.
ls_fieldcat-h_ftype = 'AVG.

Create dump file with datapump, with read right for everybody

I have a problem under Linux : I am creating dump files with datapump.
Those dump files are owned by a dba group, with no read access for users not in the dba group.
Is there a way that the datapump utility creates dump files with a read access given to any user ?

Unlike "exp", when using "expdp", the dumpfile is created by the server process. The server process is forked from the database instance. It inherits the umask settings that are present when the database instance is started.
(Therefore, the only way to change the permissions would be to change the umask for the oracle database server id and restart the database instance --- which is NOT what I would recommend).
umask is set so that all database files created (e.g. with CREATE TABLESPACE or ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE) are created with "secure" permissions preventing others from overwriting them -- of course, this is relevant if your database files are on FileSystem.

Develope complex WebService with JDeveloper and deploy to tomcat

Hello,
I am thinking of developing a complex WebService with JDeveloper and deploy it to tomcat.
The WebService should retrieve a few "normal" datatypes and a pdf and a few images. I try to store the pdf and the image in an Oracle DB as BLOB.
My idea ist to create a Package which selects the values, pdf and the image and retrieve them as the output paramter.
Then I want to create a WebService with the JDeveloper which calls this Package. This WebService should be published on a Tomcat.
My first question is if that is possible?
I think there are few problems.
I searched the forum about deploying a JDeveloper WebService to Tomcat, but I can not find a whole solution which is going to work. I read something about JAX-RPC, but I am new to this topic. So it would be very nice, if anyone could tell me where I can find the solution or post a quick guide to solve that.
Another question is how I have to decode the images and the pdf to provide those files in a WebService?
I would be very glad if anyone can help me or tell me where I can find information about that, becaus I am new to this topic!
