Top 25 Most Played playlist isn't right on my itouch.....

It just adds random songs from my song list and not the ones that are in the top 25 most played playlist in itunes. The only thing that these random songs have in common is that they have all been played once, is this a problem to do with syncing my ipod or software. If anybody knows how to sort this out please can you help me.
Thanks!!

It's a bug.
Been reported a lot.
Hopefully the next update fixes it.

  • Most Played Playlist Problem

When I create a 50 most played playlist and sync to my ipod it shows the 50 least played. Any fix for this. running 3.1.3 on an 1st gen touch and 10.6.6 on my macbook. iTunes ver. 10.2.2

    ok. trying now.
ok, that kinda worked. this is what i did.
    unplugged ipod.
    went to most played.
picked a lower song and just played it over and over.
it still stayed in the same place.
i hooked it up to the computer and the most played playlist said that it was the number one most played song.
i then hit copy to play order and sync then unplugged ipod.
looked at playlist and it was right.
BUT, isnt there a way for the playlist to be updated without having to hook it up the my computer and having to do the copy play order and sync?

  • [Desktop] Recently Played/Most played playlist

Please add the recently played feature to the windows software. It is so easy to quickly start a played Album in the Android App. On PC it is a pain in the ass. The history is not really helpful and too unclear. Maybe just Album covers of my recently played albums on the Home Screen and everything is fine. Furthermore, it would be great if i could search my albums or at least jump from one letter to another would be great.

  • My 'Most Played' playlist will not Sync with Itunes

    Hello,
I have created a 40 most played playlist on my iPod touch and on my ITunes. My iTunes shows my 40 most played songs fine, however my IPod shows some random collection of 40 songs, which are not my most played.
Could anyone tell me why the 2 playlists won't sync, and how to fix it? Thank you!

  • Songs In My "Most-Played" Playlist That Shouldn't Be

Okay, this is a weird one to try to explain, so please bear with me. On my iPod classic, I have a smart playlist I created called "Top 2000 Most Played Songs," which is, obviously, a playlist of the top 2000 most played songs on my iPod. Being a smart playlist, it always updates as play-counts change. When I look at this playlist in iTunes, it is all perfect and has all the right songs. When I look at this playlist on my iPod, it has about five or six songs at the bottom of the list that should not be there... i.e., they are songs that used to be in the top 2000 most played, but have since been pushed out by other songs. However, the playlist clearly only has 2000 songs on it, so there are five or six songs missing that are supposed to be there. However, the songs that are missing are not the most recent additions, because I have been able to find them in the playlist. So I don't know what is missing. I have tried copying to play order, and it still has those five or six songs at the end of the playlist. I don't want those songs on the playlist. Why is it doing this?

The most likely thing is that your songs that you expect to appear in the bottom of the list, still don't have more play-counts than others.
What you are trying to say is that iTunes does not updates your playlist. So try the experiment. Activate "Plays" column in iTunes. Connect ipod, let it syncronize. Look at the bottom of the list, see what is there. How many counts for the songs you expect in the list? More than for the others? Less or equal? As I see in my library, the songs in the bottom have the same play-counts, some of them will be in the list, some not (alphabetically?)
Then disconnect ipod and check the playlist on the device.
Also you can add new conditions to your smartlist to filter bad songs.

  • Top 25 Played Playlist updates on computer, but stays the same on iPhone

    Hey guys,
I'm hoping someone else can help me. My iTunes Top 25 playlist updates just fine on my iMac, but not on any of my iPhones/iPods.
It has stayed the same constantly for about a year now, and I'm wondering if it's a file in the iTunes library that is messing it up? (Maybe something in the actual iTunes folder in Finder)
Thanks for any help/pointing in the correct area!

    Um, bump.

  • How to 'bring back' deleted "25 Most Played" playlist...

and the other playlists that come populated when iTunes is first installed, like "On the Go", "90's Music" ect. I deleted these playlists along time ago and would like to have them back.
    Thanks

I've never really tested how the live updating works. I think it will do you're asking, but you may just have to try it and see.
Not sure I understand the question about sync to and from. The actual sync of material is always one way, from iTunes to the iPod (or iPhone). But....with a dynamic playlist, when you next sync, the info regarding those tracks having been played should be included on the playcount info on the tracks, so that information will be given back to iTunes.
iTunes shouldn't add multiple copies of a playlist or items in a playlist. If during a sync it looks like iTunes is re-adding items to your iPod, it's probably just a matter of information about the tracks being updated. Any thing you change on a track -- say you changed the Genre or something -- will cause the item to show up during your sync.
    Hope that helps.

  • Walkman Most Played Playlist Album Cover

Like many others, I too made an account just for this problem.
Ok, so the home page of the App (Walkman) doesn't show any cover art of the songs that are in the playlist. Before viewing the list or even tapping the playlist, it looks like it doesn't have any songs in it. It just shows the default cover art when a song doesn't doesn't have any cover art.
    Five things to know about:
    My phone is Xperia Z2.
The problem started occurring after the latest update that was rolled out around 2 to 3 weeks ago.
ALL of my songs contain cover art, in and out of the playlist.
I tried clearing the cache and clearing the data multiple times. But when I reinstalled the updates, the problem goes away for some days and then comes back. (What kind of trolling is this?)
I contacted the support team and they keep telling me to do a factory reset (which to me seems too much for a small problem) after I told them I cleared the data and cache multiple times and even reinstalled the updates.

Looks like I have a bigger problem now. The uninstall all updates option for the Walkman is now gone. I can't update it either. The features I was talking about previously came with 4.4.4. It has nothing to do with latest version of the app.
I don't know what's happening right now, but this is the first time I uninstalled all the updates for app after updating to latest kitkat.
Do these things happen often? This my first Android and Sony phone. Although I had a Sony Ericsson before.

  • "25 Most Played" playlist lists over 3,600 tracks on iOS

I know that this has been discussed before in other threads, but I want to add a little more volume to the crowd of complaints about this.  iTunes/iCloud seems to completely ignore track limits on iOS devices.  It is completely broken, it appears to be a full show-stopper bug, and I don't understand how this passed Q.A.
I have a variety of smart playlists in iTunes that I want to have available on my iPhone.  The playlists all have a limit on the number of tracks, which ranges from 25 to ~250.  The playlist names sync up just fine on my phone but the phone does not adhere to the track limit parameter in the playlist, which renders them completely uselesss.
Why does a 25-song playlist show up as containing over half of my library?  Why is such a simple parameter ignored?  99% of my listening is through smart playlists and this has rendered iCloud/Match completely useless on my phone.  And yes, I restored my phone to factory settings to no avail.  It still fails even after a full reset.
On 3 separate computers the playlists work just fine with the correct limits.  It is only on iOS devices that it fails.
Please fix this Apple.  It is completely broken.

Certainly my experience mirrors yours.  I've spent a few hours yesterday and a bit more today experimenting.  Certainly the track limit bug is one that shouldn't be difficult to fix (I'm not an engineer though, so can't say that with certainty.
Many smart playlists, such as those based on BPM, or text in the comment field simply show up empty on iOS.  That's been my experience and I've read it's the same for others.
Other than smart playlists based on what I'd call "simple" genre, the metadata is just not being handled properly, if at all.  I say "simple" genre because I've read an account of a user who can't get "Australian Country" to work, and for me in the U.S., that would seem to be a genre that's a bit out of the ordinary (I'm sure the person who used it regularly would disagree).
So clearly there is a larger issue here.  At this time Apple does not seem to have fully implemented smart playlist functionality for iTunes Match into iOS.
My recommendation is for every person who has problems with smart playlists to contact Apple directly, let them know what your individual experience has been and make it known that smart playlist functionality in iOS is a necessary component of making the iTunes Match experience what it is supposed to be - a way to get your music into the cloud, and on to all of your devices AND to be able to manage the music in a way that is easy or easier than what you had before you signed up.
You can do that at this link.

  • Most Played Smart playlist problem

i have a smart playlist that has my 500 most played songs. when i have my ipod hooked up to my computer, it has the playlist in the correct order but when i am using my ipod the playlist shows it in the order that i originally started the playlist in. for example, when i made the list my top five songs went: brand new, jojo, forever in fall, brand new, weezer. and it still shows it in that order on my ipod. but it should now read: brand new, jojo, jojo, weezer, mae.
now here is the weird thing, if i play a song enough it will get added to that playlist. so i can play songs enough to get them on the playlist but it cant get it in the correct order it seems.
any help? BTW i manually update my ipod.

  • Itunes does not capture "Top 25 most played tunes" during iPhone sync

Howdy - I would fine it super useful from a data perspective if after syncing with my iPhone that iTunes would update the "Top 25 most played tunes" playlist. I mostly listen music on my iPhone so as every day that goes by with me playing music this data is being lost, I no longer know what my "Top 25 most played tune" are.
It's probably not iTunes functionality to do this so I guess I gotta raise a ticket on this one with Apple directly. However, it would be great to get some feedback on this idea, do anyone agree?

    Hi,
not sure if its too late.
I had the same problem before and unsolved it just 10 mins ago.
I found the cure on this site
    http://forums.ilounge.com/itunes-mac-pc/249787-smart-playlists-not-syncing-sorti ng-correctly.html
What I did was what replied 3 mentioned which is
    on your itunes
1.left click the top 25 most played playlist then choose edit smart playlist.
2.simply untick the live updating box.
    3.sync again.
    Pop!! the problem is gone..........woooohooo!
I hope it helps you too if its not too late:)

  • Questions about Nokia Music Player - "Most Played"...

    MY PHONE: NOKIA 5530 EM
View count on music, well i always like this function on music players in general.
But i don't really get nokia's one. Because i made some tests over the past months and i'm almost sure it isn't based on view count. Not only view count, at least.
    1) What is the "most played" playlist really based on?
2)Can i somehow, view/edit the view count, or what other setting that determines the "most played" playlist order?
3)Can i somehow edit this "most played" playlist?
    4) If i use PC Suite tranfer phone option, will it carry those auto playlists, view counts along with the rest of the transferred things?
I wanna know all that because i want to buy a n97, but want to keep my music counts.
If someone can answer this it would be great.
    Thanks
    Walter David

Personally at this stage when C7, E7 and N8 have all been announced and N97 has a **bleep** load of issues, I would dissuade you from the N97 and tell you to buy one of the 3 I mentioned.
Anyway, The music player on the N97 is exactly the same one on your 5530 (if you have v30 firmware). As far as I know, most played is based on how many times a music has played from top to finish. Furthermore on Ovi Suite, it is quite easy to just make your own playlist as opposed to relying on autoplaylists

  • Is there a way to get my 25 most played to actually show the top 25 songs?

I want my top 25 most played to actually show the songs i listen to most. Right now it shows nothing.
Does that have to be done in Itunes?
    If it does thats retarted.

By smart playlist do you mean the genius playlist?
Because if you are, im talking about the ipods list. It came with preset (i guess they are playlists) but they are not run by genius
I don't think the Touch comes preset with any playlists. You must be referring to the iTunes "Top 25" playlist, which is in iTunes by default. You will only get that on your Touch if you choose to auto-sync to it or, if you manually manage the Touch's contents, drag that playlist to the Touch. If you manually manage the Touch you can also create this same type of playlist on the Touch while connected to iTunes.
But note that the "Top 25" playlist may only update each time you re-sync to iTunes, especially if you're using the 3.0 OS. Also, the sort order of the playlist will only update once your re-connect to iTunes (regardless of OS version or sync mode).

  • ...Is my nano's Top 25 most played list bugged?

When I plug the nano into my PC, it says that "Dead Presidents II" is the #1 most played on my iPod.
However, I went to the top 25 list on my iPod, and Dead Presidents II is near the bottom of the list.
    What's going on?

    Huh?
Great, so don't auto update. And as Chris pointed out (ignoring the typo) is that in manual sync mode, playcounts from the iPod will not be updated back to the iTunes library. If you don't care about playcounts, then you are all set.
If instead you want playcounts updated back to iTunes, then you have to use an automatic update option. But this doesn't mean you HAVE to sync the entire library to your iPod. If your library is much larger than your iPod's storage, then simply use a smart playlist to fill your iPod with the right amount of stuff and when you connect back to iTunes, playcounts will be updated.
