Since Bob Levine has so quickly set up this sub forum these are my requests:
As tapping a button or swiping an image often results in the unintended display of the navigation menu (and everyone that I have seen using DMP Apps is frustrated and confused by this) please provide an alternative like reducing the active area to top and/or bottom of the screen.
Include a desktop viewer independent of InDesign so that external contributors can review folios
Add an icon to Folio Builder to show that a folio has been changed but not updated
Update all Folios option in Folio Builder
Folios in PDF format to be visible in desktop preview
Multi State objects must have the option of interactivity.
Add more complex interactivity by giving objects unique iDs in order to control multiple events like a button that starts a slideshow and an audio file.
Integrate some of the HTML features into InDesign/DPM in order to avoid having to use an alternative application like Dreamweaver to create them, impossible in most editorial workflows.
Since sideloading to iPad is not available ensure that the Acrobat.com infrastructure can handle all the traffic all the time.

Although I share some of the OP's ideas, and I am in danger of repeating some of them with my questionable level of English, here's my list which only concerns the content creation.
I would like to see…
…more levels of interactivity: buttons and interactive elements on scrollable contents, pop-ups that contain buttons which trigger other pop-ups.
…animations executed with the animation and timing tabs when a page / state is loading, like it's possible to do now on html / swf export.
…transitions, instead of simple fades, when changing states - wipes, blurs moves, etc. which you can drive and customize via the state, button or animation tab.
…buttons re-worked: to trigger visibility of layers, so I can make easy pop-ups in their separate layers; to have a "close" feature and not having to use invisible buttons to close pop-ups; to trigger more than one thing at a time.
…two layers of action: background and foreground, which can move independently or tied together when user swipes or scrolls and maybe have an added use for double-tapping (as mag+ does), to hide the foreground and reveal the background.
…more interactive elements, without the need to go to an external HTML application to create them and then insert them with the web content tab. I am thinking a 3D tab (where you can view a 3D model from all angles), a reveal image solution (scratch to show the image in the bottom), a before/after image (like the effect that can be done in Flash, where you move a separator with the mouse to see / hide an image).
…re-worked slideshows, to include Ken Burns effect, presets for animating the different states, buttons that can be clicked inside the separate states and the ability to launch images in a lightbox, with greyed out or blurred background.
…scrollable content that automatically  moves to adjustable directions and speeds when loaded, like the news tickers, and can be clicked to link to a page (like, be used for ToC) - ideally, it would contain more than text, but images as well.
…an one-click way to convert the designed pages from horizontal to vertical and vice versa in a new file, keeping the interactivity you have already designed. I am not sure if this feature exists right now, but -if it is- please assign a button to it and bring it up front
As a disclaimer, I have to say that I am no programmer (I am a visual journalist) and I don't know how hard / extensive rework is needed to do these things. I hope that there is a way to introduce a more feature-rich environment for designers, without the need for tricks / external apps.
These are just ideas seen here and there (I am fairly sure you have seen them, too, and I know some of them are fruits of extensive programming) and I'm just hoping to see them under iD's hood.
