TopLink and ResultSet: ojdbc14 vs. ojdbc6 - Closed command
Hi all,
I have problem with ojdbc library. We updated our ojdbc library from ojdbc14 to ojdbc6. But now, we have problem with SQLExcpetion: "java.sql.SQLException Closed statement".
We have following code:
Object result = session.executeQuery(query, args);
Map map = (Map)((Vector)result).firstElement();
// the data is in data type OracleResultSetImpl !!!
OracleResultSet out_data = (OracleResultSet) map.get(EmtasConstant.GRID_PROCEDURE_DATA_OUT);
OracleResultSetMetaData metadata = (OracleResultSetMetaData) out_data.getMetaData();
If we used library "ojdbc14.jar" everything works fine, we get metadata, read data from resultSet, etc... No problem!
But if we using "ojsbc6.jar" and call getMetadata, then throws: "java.sql.SQLException: Closed command: getMetaData" .. or "ava.sql.SQLException: Closed command: next()" or whatever we call on OracleResultSet out_data (we try OracleResultSet and ResultSet too)..
If we used "ojdbc14.jar" and I call out_data.close(), they throws same exception => Why is the ResultSet in library ojdbc6.jar closed??????
Any idea? I'm really stuck and I all day trying to come to solve the problem, but I resolved nothing.

Yes, I have newest version of TopLink (11.1.1. ...) and Java (1.6_09).
Or, is any option how to convert ResultSet to any "normal" java object (like hasmap,collection, list, ...)
I returned multiple cursor objects from stored procedure, and I resolved it as follows:

but now I have problem with ResultSet and i don't want call more times the procedure call (first option)...

Closing Statements and ResultSets
I just recently realized that you need to close Statements and ResultSets in order to avoid getting the "Too many cursors"-message.
My question is:
Do you need to close both Statements and ResultSets?

Does it matter which one you close first?I usually place the stmt.close() code in my finally block, to ensure that the statement gets closed, even if a SQLException occurs during the query/update. The ResultSet does not explicitly have to be closed, ... it is automatically closed when the Statement is closed, or if a new query is run on the same statement.

JDBC: Closing Connection does it close statement and resultset
In my application I am facing ORA-0100 Maximum open cursors exceeded problem. We are executing quite a few queries and stored procedures before we close the connection object. But in few places statements and resultsets are not closed. Can these be a problem? Shouldn't they be automatically closed when the connection is closed?

Some of my web pages open a new pop-up window for entering credentilas and display sensitive information. After upgrading t0 3.6.12 i found that firefos is not opening pop-up windows (earlier version allowed). When I close the browser, it gives a quit message saying there are unclosed tabs and windows of firefox. shall they be saved for next time start.
Also observed that the memory usage (from Task manager)is very high compared to earlier ones and the process is not closed even if I close the browser.3.6.13 is also behaving similarly.

What is the default key command for THE COMMAND (apple) key? I seem to have changed it somehow along the way and now when I push the command key (only) it hides all open windows and shows the desk top and when I push it again it shows all windows again...I need to return to default A.S.A.P. just this one key...Any ideas? I am running OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1. Option-Command-Escape now brings up Front Row. How can this be fixed?
Also, trying to copy portions of articles from Safari (5.1) to MS Word now results in the twirling ball. Any solutions?Try using the other Option (Alt) key. The reason I suggest that - the real command combo for Front Row is Command-Escape; yet yours was being activated when you pressed Command-Option-Escape. That would indicate that Finder was not responding to the inclusion of Option in the key combo. The simplest explanation for that would be that the Option key you are using is not working for some reason.
One other 'simple' possibility - just to make sure (in case you are using a non-Apple keyboard), Option is the key adjacent to each Command key. -
My MacBook Pro will not open documents via Adobe Reader. Says I need to aspen Reader in Browzer and accept terms and contitions first. Went through this 3 times and got through to "Finish", closed browser and then retried. No luck. What's going on?? Have no problem with same documents on iPhone and iPad

I am having mac book air 2012model i had installed mavericks and use it, i long press command and power button at a same time and i saw the command prompt, from that i had formated the total hard disk. how to i want to install the OS again ?

It isn't the retail version, because that's 10.6.3.
Assuming it's the correct disc (i.e. the one that shipped with your Mac), you need to boot from it again.
OK the language page.
From the installer screen, ignore the continue button, go to the menu bar and choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
In DU, select your internal drive in the sidebar (the top item with the makers name and serial no.).
Run Repair Disk. If that comes up as disk OK, click the partition tab. Select the partiton from the drop-down above the graphic; 1 partiton is all you need.
Go to the options button and ensure that the partition scheme is GUID and the file system to Mac OS Extended (Journalled). Name the partiton (usually Macintosh HD), click Apply.
When the Macintosh HD volume appears below the drive name, quit DU and see if you can then install.
If the screen after the language screen doesn't show the menu bar, it may be necessary to use another Mac to do the job with the MB in Firewire Target Disc Mode. If it won't boot in TDM, or the MB doesn't have FireWire then it's getting very difficult. -

Hi there. Hear are some other options . Hold down for click on the track pad while restarting and keep it down all the way thru boot. Or use right click on a mouse. If it's stuck, sometimes sticking a business card in top edge of slot while trying the eject option can work.

How to duplicate a target and add resources in xcode using command line?
I am trying to use command line tools to create, add resources, build, archive and export to ipa in xcode. I could do the Build, Archive and Exporting to IPA through the command line tools(xcodebuild). But I also wanted to duplicate the target in the same project,add a new Info.plist to the duplicated target resource through command line itself. How to do it? I could not find any valuable answers by Googling. I could not find any proper documentation also in Apple Sites.
Is there any tools that can be used to perform these? I don't want to use the UI. Please, help me out.The Mac App Store is not appropriate for command line tools. You can use any language you want.

Your JDBC driver has concrete implementations of Statement and Resultset. If you want to know what classes are being used try something like:Connection con = ??;

When I am on the internet, my screen will suddenly scroll all the way to the bottom and will not respond to any commands. All of the other programs are then affected the same way and you cannot even use the commands at the top of the screen becayse they all scroll to the bottom. After a while, the screen resets by itself. Help.
It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight. -
