Toplink Essentials bundled with GlassFish v2...only supports Derby?

Question

I tried using MySQL and it completely ignores my settings in the persistence.xml file. I successfully created a datasource in the console though for mySQL. Here are my settings:

I did copy the mysql-connector-java-5.1.5-bin.jar to the [java ee 5 SDK install directory]/domains/domain1/lib.
The problem is toplink (essentials) is looking for a Derby database still.
Any other settings I need to change?

In a Java EE environment you need to use the <jta-datasource> or <non-jta-datasource> tag, or specify the datasource name through a persistence unit property. In this environment the toplink.jdbc.* properties are ignored, so GF defaults to its default datasource (jdbc/__default).
