Tor+privoxy+chrome Issue

Im trying to get tor working with google chrome through privoxy
Tor installed and runs. Installed vidalia as well
Privoxy was installed succesfully
Installed google chrome dev through AUR
tried setting it up with this command :
chromium --proxy-server="localhost:8118" Only I replaced "chromium" with "google-chrome"
Error is this:
[1337:1350:3063716153:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(239)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
Created new window in existing browser session.

I read up on /etc/hosts.allow but the man page and whatever I could find on the wiki or through google weren't very helpful. I found some references for other things that need to be added to /etc/hosts.allow so I've been copying those but none of them are working.
So I've added the following things (one of them at a time) to /etc/hosts.allow, then restarted Tor and Privoxy and gotten the exact same error.
ALL: LOCAL
privoxy: 127.0.0.1: ALLOW
tor: 127.0.0.1: ALLOW
ALL: LOCAL
privoxy: 127.0.0.1
tor: 127.0.0.1
privoxy: 192.168.1.100
tor: 192.168.1.100
privoxy: 192.168.1.100: ALLOW
tor: 192.168.1.100: ALLOW
privoxy: LOCAL
tor: LOCAL
I've mostly been winging it for those entries based on what I read on how to get other daemons working so I've probably been doing it horribly wrong. Again, all answers appreciated.

[SOLVED] Unable config elinks using tor/privoxy

Hi everyone, these days i am trying to config tor and privoxy to surf anonymous network using elinks. I read tor/privoxy wiki but i can't recognise what i've done wrong. I added "forward-socks5 / localhost:9050 ." to /etc/privoxy/config file and modify .elinks/elinks.conf as follow:
set protocol.http.proxy.host = "localhost:8118"
set protocol.https.proxy.host = "localhost:8118"
restarted tor/privoxy service (am using systemd)
and the result when i open elinks with check.torproject.org is a message notices that forwarding is failure.
Forwarding failure
Privoxy was unable to socks5-forward your request http:..... through 127.0.0.1: SOCKS5 TTL expired
....blah..blah...
Any suggestion?. Thanks in advanced!

Double check that:
forward-socks5 / localhost:9050 .
Realy is at the end of /etc/privoxy/config
Then stop both tor.service and privoxy.service
systemctl stop tor.service
systemctl stop privoxy.service
... kind of off topic... but also edit the tor.service file to send KillSignal=SIGINT otherwise it will waite 30sec to stop each time. i.e. it will add 30sec's to your shutdown time which sucks...

Open another terminal, or screen (if your using screen), and tail the journal so you can see tor connect
journalctl -f
Now start tor.service
systemctl start tor.service
It can take a min or two to make a full connectoin to the Tor network.
After tor is complete, start privoxy.service
systemctl start privoxy.service
Now, try to use the privoxy "HTTP" proxy on port "8118"... Yes, privoxy is an "HTTP" proxy not SOCKS proxy. If you must use a SOCKS proxy then you can connect to the Tor proxy itself on 9050, which is a SOCKS proxy.
elinks may not be the best choice for secure Tor browsing. I am not sure if elinks leaks DNS or not. You may want to watch wireshark to make sure.
I would sugjest Firefox and go to about:config and togle: network.proxy.socks_remote_dns to TRUE
Then install plugins: NoScript, CS Lite (i.e. cookie safe lite, for White Listing cookies), HTTPS-Everywhere (from the EFF), and Ad BlockPluss

Google Chrome Issues with X230T and X220T

This is the second time I've posted about this issue because nothing was resolved in the first thread I made a while back.
I own an X230T running Windows 7 Proffesional, and I have a friend with an X220T also running Windows 7 Professional.
We have installed all updates in Java, Adobe, and Windows.
The problem that we are running into is when we go to certian websites (chegg.com, nike.com, toyota.com), some elements on the page will not work no matter what pluggins or extensions we disable, install, etc.
For example on the toyota site, when you go to the main page and click the "select vhicles" tab, nothing happens and a "toyota.com/#" appears at the bottom of the webpage.
We have tried running the program in compatibility mode with no success.
I have tried previous versions of Chrome to no avail.
If anyone is having the same issues or knows of a solution, I would appreciate some feedback.
Right now I am just using the IE tab extension for Chrome, but I would like to get this problem resolved.

On a T430u running Win 7 Pro and an x61 running Win 8 Pro, I can navigate all your listed sites in Chrome with no problems.
In Chrome settings, under advanced settings, privacy, make sure that the first 4 tabs are checked.
Latest version of Chrome with new updates of Adobe Flash and Air.

Finder/Chrome issues, need help

So here is the problem.
Sometimes my iMac will not react to anything downloaded in chrome.
For example when I download a ZIP file, normally I would click the file at the bottom of chrome and finder/archive utility opens up the file and unzips it.
What happens to me is, Chrome doesn't do anything..it does not do anything with any file be it a zip or a jpeg. it just doesn't do anything.
So I browse to the ZIP file in my Downloads folder, double click it top unzip it, and the Archive utility just hang and I can see the bar that it's busy but the application is actually not responding.
I left it unzipping overnight and the next morning it was still trying to unpack.
Also the finder does not refresh itself when the problem occurs (I will create something in Photoshop, and try to save the PSD for example and it saves the file, but the finder does not show it unless I Relaunch Finder).
Rebooting my iMac does not work I have to hold CMD+Option+R+P (reset PRAM) to make the iMac work correctly again.
After 2 day's the problem will return and the whole game starts again...
It is kind of annoying.. Now I've noticed DOZENS of Bugs in Mountain Lion...if this is one of them I'm going back to Lion, this is not worth my time.

Finder is apple software yet you fail to read that... Chrome is just part of the issue, which I stll think links to the whole finder issue (seeing as when clicked on a download in chrome it should open Finder)
So instead of only focussing on Chrome, let's focus on Finder ok?
As a side not, I had and already tried a fresh install..
The same problem also occurs on my Macbook Pro 13" from time to time (although not as often)

Captivate and Chrome issues

I'd like to return to the discussion about problems with Google Chrome. My Captivate 7 eLearning starts to play (from Adobe Connect) and then virtually closes itself out and disappears during the second screen. Is there particular issues with Captivate and Google Chrome? My co-workers also cannot run Captivate eLearning on Chrome, while things are fine on Firefox or Safari. Is this a general issue with others, and if so, what can be done about it?

Perhaps it's some setting that needs to be clicked? Everyone on my team has problems with the eLearning playing in Google Chrome, while Firefox and Safari are no problem at all. The file literally closed on it's own for me. Poof! Gone! While playing in Google Chrome.
I am using version 7.0.1.237. This is not a new problem for us. Google Chrome has always been problematic. I should also say that it makes no difference if the eLearning is being viewed on a Mac or on a PC. As long as it's playing in Google Chrome, it either won't play for long or it just stalls out.

Stock browser and Chrome issues

I have two issues with the browsers in my A1000-F.
1. In the stock browser, sites such as MSN.com do not render completely and result to washed out text and photos.
2. In Chrome, all sites are shaky when scrolling.
I know these are fragmentation issues but are there any fixes for these problems? Thanks.

Compressor 2 black level/chroma issue

I have discovered a problem about making MPEG2s with Compressor 2. I have two suites one of which has recently been upgraded to FCP Studio with Tiger; I used Compressor 2 to make a batch of MPEG2s and some QTs for the web. The QTs were fine but the MPEGs were oversaturated and had crushed blacks. I have tried both the new and old setting and the problem is common to both. I have tried recompressing material that I already have MPEGs of that were made with FCP 4.5 and Compressor 1. The new ones are different and all exhibit high chroma low black levels.
Since my second suite is still running FCP 4.5 and compressor I ran the same tests in the old suite and the levels looked fine, suggesting that there is an issue with Compressor 2.
I tried to alert Apple directly and was told that they had no way of putting me in touch with anyone directly. So I hope that for the sake of other users and myself this posting will ring some alarm bells.

Let me be clear, I am not seeing any significant differences in the black levels and colors between Compressor 1.2.1 and Compressor 2.0.1 and yes I am using the same decoder when I compare the clips (Apple's MPEG2 Playback component). I've compared the clips side-by-side on the same display under both OS X 10.3.8 and 10.4.2. However, I haven't done an extensive set of comparison with a wide range of source material (at least not in any detailed manner).
As for being CoreImage accelerated, under 10.4.X I do have support for CoreImage functions but they are not GPU hardware accelerated. Thus under 10.4.2 I do not get QuickTime's realtime color corrections. My PowerBook also supports Quartz Extreme.
However, if you're talking about the so-called Quartz 2D Extreme then my system doesn't support such acceleration (and as far as I know Q2DE isn't even enabled yet -- not on any system -- you need a developer debug tool to turn it on).

Tor + Privoxy

I've been using privoxy for some time now and decided to try tor with it for anonymous connection. I followed the tutorial in wiki and everything works but the speed of the connection is impossible. The reduction of speed is normal while using tor an privoxy but this is too much. I wish i had dial-up connection while using these two. What could be done if, anything??

The same here. The speed of the connection is very slow, sometimes it is fast. But most of the time it is slow. You can't do anything here on your side. maybe help the tor community and set up a tor server and share your bandwidth with the tor network. Because the tor network need some more server, then it would become faster...

Yeah I tested locally and in server. I found the issue. In my project, it have alerts...those are fired for every 30 sec that means refresh the alters. I triggered one event to open jnlf applet by calling servlet from front end, but at the same time the alert call is fired. at that time this issue is coming...so any idea about this....?

Open UI - Google Chrome Issue - Menu Items jump

We have upgraded to Open UI successfully. However we have observed an issue with google chrome only. Menu items are jumping when menu items clicked in applet.
Below are steps we followed for replication
1. Navigate to Account summary view by drilling down on any account hyperlink in account list view
2. Click the Menu button in the lowermost applet in the view
3. The menu opens way on the top
Please can you suggest a work-around/solution in this scenario?

Does it happen when the chrome browser is maximized?
Do you have any additional toolbars or extensions installed on chrome? If yes check if disabling/uninstalling them make any difference.

Google Chrome issues - OS X 10.8.5

Howdy
When u type in search it goes to search bar on the top of the browser instead of google search in chrome on mac ...anyone having similar issues?

I began having issues with Google Chrome after updating to 10.8.5 as well.
Basically, it just hangs trying to load WEB pages, and eventually times out.
Those exact same WEB pages load fine in Safari or Firefox.
No idea what the problem is, but again it's new to Chrome + 10.8.5.
At some point I'll chase it, but for now Chrome is gone and I'm back to using Safari.

Google Chrome issue in LionOS - Mission Control

My Mac system version is Lion Mac OS X 10.7.2 (11C74) and Chrome is 16.0.912.63 9 (up to date).
The problem is that every time I switch screens using Mission Control, Chrome comes together to the next space. It doesn't happen to Safari nor any other program.
Anyone with a solution for that? I've sent messages to Apple and Google but had no replies whatsoever.

To isolate the problem I recommend updating to the production version of Muse 2014.2 and temporarily removing the custom code for swiftype.

How to use Tor/Privoxy with pacman?

Just wondering if that is possible, and how.
When doing "pacman X" and checking the "netstat" I see my IP listed. Is there a way to use pacman through TOR, or, in a more general way, that each out connection goes through TOR -IM clients, actualizations, etc-

i use tsocks to ssh tunnel some apps, it works great. just create /etc/tsocks.conf, mine looks like this:
root@blackout:~# cat /etc/tsocks.conf
server = 127.0.0.1
server_port = 9999
adjust the port to the port you're using with tor.
then just run, for example:
tsocks pacman -Syu
(or whatever application you want to run through it)

IE 7 and Chrome issues with flash buttons

I have found a problem with swf files in IE7 and Chrome.
The swf buttons animate as normal, but when I click them to open a new HTML page nothing happens.
I tested IE8 and Firefox and everything is fine.
Strangely IE7 and Chrome worked fine about a month ago, but not now for some reason.
Can anyone help ?

There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
