Toshiba 47VL963 doesn't have an Internet browser installed...

For everyone that is reading this why doesn't the VL963 models have an Internet browser installed? For Toshiba, can you please launch an update to include an internet browser? Preferably an open browser with flash support integrated...
I don't understand how can a Smart Tv be called Smart without an open browser in this day and age...
Thank you very much for your time.
Best regards,
Carmo.

Hello Lasko, thank you for your answer.
Why is this model spoken so little in the web? I think I'm the first one posting this question...
But still I don't understand why the (supposedly inferior) model 46TL938 has an integrated open browser, and the 47VL963 doesn't have one... I thought that the T letter came before the V in the ABC... :)
I'll ask one more time: Toshiba, can you please launch an update for us user's of the VL963 series that includes an internet open browser with flash support? That would make my purchase feel not so wrong (when I bought the TV I thought this already was an integrated feature of all 2012 Smart TV indepent of their branding, but I guess you really have to read all the tiny letters in the specifications...), because I don't know anyone in Portugal who has bought this model... And I'm starting to regret it...
Toshiba here is a good example where you can gain or lose one Client! I'm about to purchase a laptop and I was pending for a Toshiba one...
Thank you for your (possible) support!

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
    All else fails? Restore it.

  • Toshiba AT105 tablet using Android OS Internet browse stops

Internet browse stops, other applications using the internet work fine
    No software updates available
    build number HTK55D.31.5.0003
    kernel version 2.6.36-3-00020-g3d351b6

I am a retired software developer with 40 yrs experience: half on main frames, the rest on PCs.
I think something on the tablet (client) such as a directory is no longer available.
Connecting to my PC via a USB port I see directories such as My Computer\AT100\Internal Storage\Android\data on the tablet. It contains subdirs such as \com.google.android.apps.books\files\accounts. If I know what dir to look for it would help.
From the Product Support drop downs our tablet may (must?) be a Thrive.  The tablet was purchased from the Home Shopping Network by my wife.  Latest support bulletins for Android general software only show an insufficient storage available problem.  This tablet has something like 16 Gig of memory, so that can't be the problem.
Per suggestions from online help I removed the battery and reloaded it.  The problem remained:
browse still stops, says it is loading ...                              / and symbol below the / on next line
    http://www.google.com/webhp?client=ms-android-toshiba source=android-home
It is likely that google server software is ok, and that the client software is ok.  I suspect a file or directory may be a problem.
ThriveForums.org wants to help for $, but the tech was a network admin and I think a developer is needed.
    Any suggestions?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The default Browser that came with the system was being used.
After more research I found something that partially fixed the problem.
First, I restarted the tablet in Safe Mode.
Then it said Sorry! The application Launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Pressing Force close stopped it. But the message soon popped up again.
I shut off the tablet and restarted it normally.
I tried changing some things in settings, but don't remember exactly what.
Then I tried the Browser again and it worked ok! Whew! I'm one greatful man.
This tablet worked very well and this is the first serious problem we had with it.
Since then, after a day of using it, I have found that it occasionally just shuts down the web site that I am using. When this happens I simply started the browser again, went to the previous site I was using, and proceeded to complete what I was doing. If this continues I will create a seperate message reporting it in more detail.
Thank you for your question Peter. I'll try to be more precise next time.

  • Green "Back" Button Doesn't Work in Internet Browser

I am using the integrated Internet browser. If I navigate to the Google home page, do a search and select a page from the search results, pressing the green "previous" button doesn't result in the search results page being displayed. Instead the current page is re-loaded. If I keep pressing the green button, I can eventually get back to the search results (because I am jumping back quicker than the page can re-load).Is there another browser app I can try, or is there any setting i can change? The TV is a KDL32W706B.

  • I have no internet (browser) icons at all!

I have spent an entire day on the phone w/AT&T on this, and they have told me to contact Blackberry, so thought I'd try here for help.  I bought this phone refurbished a year ago.  Only recently decided to use internet functions.  Phone has been wiped and reset 3 times already.  We can't get it to show "edge" in Caps, and no internet browser icons show anywhere.  I know just enough to be dangerous. The more I look at support pages, the more confused and overwhelmed I get.   All help appreciated!!

  • Help! i downloaded a newer version of Safari but it turns out it isn't compatible with my OS X (10.6.8). Now my computer is dead in the water - essentially it doesn't have a web browser.

Help! I downloaded a newer version of Safari but it turns out ... its not compatible with my OS X. Now my computer essentially has no browser and can't connect to the internet.

"… my dilemma is that my iMac…"
Download the old Safari to the MBP. Use a flash drive to transfer the .dmg installation file from the MBP to the iMac. Open the .dmg on the iMac and install Safari 5.1.10.
But, frankly, I don't think that simply reinstalling the old Safari will work because of all the peripheral, under the hood changes that happen when you upgrade from one version of Safari to another. Reinstalling 5.1.10 may be insufficient to turn back the clock. (This is the moment where a Time Machine or another form of full backup would save your bacon.)
While you're getting a copy of Safari, get a copy of Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/desktop/), too, so that you have an alternate browser to use as you're sorting matters.

  • How do I export HDR photos made on Photoshop CS5 onto a flashdrive so I can use them on a window machine for commercial purposes.  Adobe support claims it is a apple problem not theirs.  PS the other window machine doesn't have Photoshop cs 5 installed?

Hi, How do I export HDR photos made on a macpro with photoshop cs5 onto a flashdrive so they can be imported correctly into a windows machine that doesn't have photoshop installed on it?  Already exported to a HP flashdrive but they do not even show up on a windows machine. Need that capabillity since this is for commercial printing.  My wife's mac laptop only shows 3/4 of the picture the rest is grayed out.  Adobe support claims it is a Apple problem.  Love the finger pointing and hold me blameless atitude on their part.  Told them creating a picture should be like gas that can be used in anybody's car, just not their Adobe equipped ferrari.  Do I need to convert the file struture so it can be read by the window machine? How would I do that ?  Any comments appreciated. Doug

I certainly wouldn't expect to read native PS CS5 files with all features intact and supported on a machine that doesn't have CS5 installed. Try saving the files as flattened (no layers) TIFFs before moving them to the flash drive and trying to open them on the Windoze box.

  • I' ve just got an ipad (the new ipad) as a gift. It's a new one but Unfortunately, i found out that it doesn't have the App Store install. How to install the app? Please advice.

I just got an ipad (retina display) as a gift. But unfortunately it doesn't have the App Store application installed. How to imstall it. Then i asked the IT to help me to find the solutions. They asked me to RESET the ipad. I tried to reset the ipad but it request 4 letters of password which i'm puzzled coz i don't even create any password yet in this ipad. So how to get the password? Can some one help me to solve this problems. Thanks.

Your best bet is to contact Apple.  Those conditions should not occur with a new unit.
I do suggest that you read Chapters 1, 2, and 3.
If you wish to troubleshoot on your own...
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • I recently purchased an older model computer with Microsoft Me from 2000. It doesn't have a web browser and I would like to download Firefox. Where do I find the download compatible with Windows Me and how do I download it?

I have looked in your web site product downloads and I am unable to find a web browser download that is compatible with Windows Me from 2000. What am I missing? Is there a web browser download that is even compatible? It is just a second computer for my grandsons to use and do homework on, but I am unable to get up the internet.

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
    Get it from here:

  • Re: installing Logic Pro X on a second computer that doesn't have much internet bandwidth

I have two complete studios, two locations, two Mac minis. The first has full internet bandwidth and I've installed Logic Pro X with all the additional content. The second is in a rural location where I have very limited, very slow and very expensive internet. How can I install Logic Pro X without downloading all the additional content? Can the content files be copied to a drive and then to the second computer?

I'd take the second Mac to a place with a better connection. That's probably your best bet.
You could try to copy the files in:
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Logic
Not sure what the result would be. Maybe copy the files first, then install? I think either way LPX has to do this. Another way possibly, install it, then when it requires the content download, close it, copy the files over, then re-open?
Let me know. This is all a guess.

  • User doesn't have sufficient privaleges to install flash player?

I'm having trouble installing flash player due to "user privileges"        HELP!!

    Hi Valerie,
Installation of Flash Player requires Administrative permissions as files are written to directories that standard users do not have access to.  You'll either need to log in with an account that has Adminstrator permissions, or provide the Administrator UserId/password to install.

  • If I already have the Tor browser installed, can I also install firefox and run it independent of Tor sometimes?

I like the fact that Tor is anonymous, but I don't always need the anonymity when I surf the net. Just want to know if I install FF as well if they will open and run independent of each other. Kind of like running Chrome and IE at the same time.

As they are separate programs, there should be no problem.
But watch for any issues. There are many times I run Firefox
and another browser at the same time.

  • My 6th generation Ipod Classic will not eject, works fine otherwise and properly goes thru sync cycle.  A message shows files are in use and device can't be ejected.  If I close my internet browser it will eject properly every time.

I have a new HP Pavilion running Windows 7 with lots of memory and a terabyte of storage, using iTunes 11 with a 6th generation Ipod Classic.  Have used my current iPod for years with no problem until today; when I try to eject the device iTunes stops responding, there is a delay of about 10-15 seconds until a message box pops up: "the ipod cannot be ejected as there are files in use."  It also won't eject from the windows taskbar, same type of message appears. iTunes remains unresponsive until I click "ok" on the message box. I've reset the ipod twice and disabled the "enable disk use" button for the ipod -- with no change in symptom.
I am not certain as to the fix but am 100% sure that the problem does not occur if I close my open browser; it occurs only when I have an Internet browser open.  I experimented with Google Chrome that I normally use, and also with Internet Explorer -- when either browser is being used the ipod cannot be ejected.
I've used iTunes 11 for about 3-4 weeks and this problem had not occurred until today.

I have had similar issues with mine, happens mainly if I transfer songs and then decide to disconnect my iPod to listen to them with my IEMs (I use Interenet Explorer in my case and it is not neccessarely up when this happens, so I seriously doubt it is an issue conencted to the web browser). I have no patience for this so my trick is I try to eject it from iTunes, if that does not work, then I bring Windows explorer up, right mouse click on the iPod mounted drive and select Eject. It gives me the same warning but there is a third button selection called Continue. When I choose that it just disconnets the drive anyway and the iPod is finally disconnected. It seems to work each and every time I do it so this solution is fine for me. Would be intersting to see what the real root cause of this is because I started getting this problem with the newer iTunes 11.

  • No Internet Browser in my Browser app

I opened the Browser, BB Menu -> Option -> Browser Configuration.I found out that I do not have Internet Browser. All i have is..
    truemove wap
    true GPRS wap
    Hotspot Browser
**Ignore the true/truemove, as it's my carrier.
I called my carrier hotline and asked for help. The technician resend the Service Book for me, and I did an Battery Pull. I even register the Host Routing Table. Nothing helps. The technician told me that if i do not have the internet browser, i couldn't open some of the web sites. eg, http://m.facebook.com

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Can you clarify something please? On that Browser Configuration screen, in which field are you referring to that those selections exist? The top "Browser" selection or the "Browser Identification" section down lower in the screen?
    Thanks.

  • I am getting a new computer and it will not have any web browser software preloaded. Can I get a CD with Firefox in order to install?

I have a new computer that will not have any web browser installed when I acquire it. So, I cannot download Firefox, say, using Internet Explorer. Can I get a copy of Firefox on a CD and use that instead.

Easiest is to download the full Firefox installer and copy that file to an USB stick.
    http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Such an USB stick is also useful for making backups of your profile data, so if you do not already have one then this is an opportunity to start making backups.
