Total option in REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY

Hi,
If we CHECK total option in REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY we get a total of numeric value with yellow color at the bottom.
Requirement:
Let say I have 3 line item records in the display, with 20 fields and one amount field. So I get the total of the amount field. Apart from that I want the Total number of LINE ITEMS to get displayed on that line. Is that possible . How?

I think this is not possible using the total option in REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY. A small shortcut is to provide another field called line item number (Populate with number 1) and use the sort parameter for the FM.Populate the sort table with the key fields of header and pass it to the FM 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'.
If U dont want to see the item number also then U need to use the FM 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'. Fill the first table with the Header data 2nd table with the item details and the 3rd table with the totals.

Totals
     *no_sumchoice*
value set: SPACE, 'X'          'X' = fields which are to be summed, passed by the calling program (FIELDCAT-DO_SUM = 'X'). The user should not be able to change this value interactively.
     no_totalline
value set: SPACE, 'X'          'X' = no total record is to be output. Subtotals can still be calculated and output. The fields in the subtotals are flagged DO_SUM = 'X' in the field list.
     no_subchoice
value set: SPACE, 'X'          'X' = value whose change triggers subtotals, provided by the calling program. The user should not be able to change this value interactively.

SAP workload monitor is not showing for particular date in Total Option

In t. code ST03N (Work Load Monitor) data is not showing in option total for particular date but it is showing in all the instances.

Advance table Total option

Hi all,
In Advance Table column values are comma separated (These are handled in query)
When I enabled the totaling on this column, the total value is not comma separated.
There is any way to achieve this.

You are showing the values as comma separated strings in a column. This is what I currently understand from your description. In that case the standard totalvalue is not going to work. You have to manually loop through the VO rows and calculate the total youself. How would you like to show the total value is a decision you can take. As I understand totalValue would not show strings, so you would not be able to set it.

Why won't the Totals in Desktop work?

I have a number of sheets that need to have totals. The report is a breakdown of staff numbers by religious belief and location/age band/directorate etc (one sheet for each).
The report takes items from three different folders and the uses a count of staff number. When I use the Grand total option in Discoverer based on SUM of the count of SE numbers it does nothing.
Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong and how I can fix this?

Totals generally do not display for one of two reasons:
1. There is a fault in your code that prevents a total from being calculated - such as the presence of a NULL value
2. Discoverer is protecting you from yourself by not generating results that would be in error - such as cartesian joins or replicated items
A couple of things to try are:
1. Switch the formula for the calculation from SUM to CELL SUM
2. Change the Aggregation tab settings on the Options screen (use Tools | Options) and drop it down a notch from using the default to the next one on the list (show the values that cannot be aggregated) - if this doesn't work try dropping it down to the lowest level (show the sum in the contributing cells)
3. If you still have a problem it could be that you have duplicated items - out of the box Discoverer won't sum these
To solve the duplicated items problem requires you add a new setting to your registry called AllowAggregationOverRepeatedValues. There is a good note about this on MetaLink called Subtotals and Grand Totals Showing Blanks in Discoverer Desktop as note number: 358707.1

How to display subtotals in every page and the grand total in the last page

I am working with Smartforms. I am not able to print the subtotal in every page ie the Price for that particular page alone should be summed and in the final page I want the grand total also to be displayed. I tried the Total option in the Calculations tab but the value is just getting incremented on every page..How can I achieve this..

Declare two different variables for subtotal and total
Use them in the calculation tab of the table node.
After displaying the subtotal create a program lines node to clear the value of the subtotal. And dont forget to mention the condition in the condition tab of the text node of your subtotal as only before end of main window.
display the grand total in the text another text node with condition... only after end of main window.

How to set Grand Total of a Measure when its aggregation rule is Max in Logical Layer

I have a Measure Column (Budget) and in Logical layer the aggregation rule is set as (Max) which looks like Max(Budget). But now it is included in the report and when my client is trying to see its grand total, it is giving the Max Budget figure of the report rather than giving the total sum(grand total).
Kindly share some ideas in achieving the grand total without disturbing the actual aggregation of the measure.

In my case i don't have a problem with aggregation for Budget Measure(max(Fact_XXKC_SHIP_TO_BUDGET_CAT_F.SALESREP_BUDGET_YTD)). This is the aggregation rule applied on the Salesrep Budget YTD.
Now i created a report with columns
Salesrepresntative(Dimension),, Sales Invoices(Measure1),, SALESREP_BUDGET_YTD(Measure 2).
In the above report the values are perfect, but when we used Grand total option at ROW level in table view, the grand total of Measure1 is cumulative of all the rows, but the Grand total of SALESREP_BUDGET_YTD (measure2) is the max of all the columns.
What i require is the Grand total of SALESREP_BUDGET_YTD (measure 2) should be cumulative of all the columns.

Grand Total with few NULL values in column.

In my requirement, I have few null values in the column and I have to show those null values as it is( can't use IfNull function).
Can I able to grand total in such scenerio..?

Are you using the "Grand Total" option that comes with the view?.I don't think there will be any issue , it will ignore the null values while calculating the total.

PLANNING ON TOTALS - AUTOMATIC DISAGGREGATION IN QUERY DESIGNER

I've seen that in the Bex Analyzer on the planning tab of key figures we have a functionality called PLANNING ON TOTALS with several possible disaggregation tecniques.
Next to it I have a warning message saying "NOT SUPPORTED BY SERVER".
If the system was somehow able to distribute following some basic distribution rules it could save lots of time on function and level customization.
Anyone knows what it's required to activate this functionality on the BW server.

I have read Mary's answer after we have discussed this here and in other forums.
Mary's answer was:
"Totals level planning or top down planning is scheduled for release in a couple of weeks. ...I would guess using attributes for top down planning would not be available yet but maybe Gregor or Marc can shed some light on that..........It is SPS12 and SP13"
Today morning I received the message from another consultant, he wrote:
"Attached is the screen shot of query designer..... look on the right side under planning tab I have the planning on totals option enabled. I have hierarchy display on, on one of the characteristic."
So it works in his system, he uses SAP_BW 700 0013 SAPKW70013 SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0 (we have SAP_BW 700 0014 SAPKW70014, which should be better than in his system)
There was another reply above"...We have SPS12, but in Query designer, feature "planning on hierarchy nodes" not enabled. I see message "Not Supported by Server". Can you explain this problem? Where i can find any documentation about new features of BI-IP functionality like "disaggregation" and "planning on hierarchy nodes"?
So the official explanation is: This functionality is available. But the practise and mails shows that it works in special cases only. What kind of special customising has to be done to activate it? Is there anyone, who has any idea, what the reason could be?

Running total with Layout Editor with BI Publisher 11g

I'm trying to create a report with BI Publisher Layout Editor using the "running total" option. My XML looks like this:

and I want to insert in the layout a data table with this information:

I inserted a new data table with the region and the value. I grouped the Region to the left (Grouping -> Group Left).
Then I selected the Value column and clicked on Formula -> Running Total, but nothing happened with this last step. Am i forgotting something? How can I display Running Totals on a Data Table with BI Publisher (using Layout editor and not RTF Templates)?

Drill Down - Total is editable

Hi,
In the DP, I am using the DET_LEVEL() to check if there is a drill down for particular infoobjects, e.g., 'Customer' and 'Product' then only the Key figure should be editable. The macro is set under 'Default' option (best I could find)
It works fine when
start the SDP94 (the KF is uneditable)
(a) Drill down down with 'Total' option, 'Total' is uneditable
(b) Drill down level changed to Detail(All), 'Total' is uneditable and for Individual Infoobjects it is editable.
(c) Then, Drill down changed to select one 'Infoobject' say 'Pepsi' and for that 'Infoobject' the KF fields are editable (As expected)
(d) But when changed the drill down back to Details as in (b) , the 'Total' is editabel along with all individual details (Not desired).

ROW: KF(Attribute) = ROW_INPUT(0)
IF
DET_LEVEL(infoobject) =1
ROW: KF(Attribute) = ROW_INPUT(&)
====
Issue is whether KF is for individuals infoobjects or 'Total'.
so I cannot put a check;
How can I get a control on 'Total' as well as individuals ?

No, I am not using the parameter 'X'. To my understanding this is not the case of implicitly strong characteristic.
The problem is visible when I switch between different view during drilling, namely,
Total>Details(All)>Individuals(say 'Customer') level --> Details(All) again.
While in all cases the Total is uneditable, once I drill down to detailed level and come back, the Total becomes editable along with individual.
Now, to rephrase my question more precisely,
how to control/differentiate the Key Figure values at Total and Individual Info object (Charc or Attribute) during drill down. Total is not a key figure so it does not allow to control its value while writing the macro.

Totals Missing from Datasheet (Quick Edit) Mode

After migrating a site to 2013, there are issues with Datasheet Mode. There were Totals at the end of a few columns on it but now they are missing. I have tried re-creating the views etc and turning off and on the Totals options on the columns but they are
still missing. This is a massive problem for a lot of our users. Has anyone got any ideas on how to switch these back on? Thanks

Lights in ALV

Hi ,
I am working on the ALV hierachical display.
In the item fields based on some conditions i need to show a light at the start of the item record as Red,Green and Yellow.
Could any one guide me on this pls.
