Total Posts missing
I just realized that the number of my posts is wrong. I know I had over 60 and now only 3 are listed. Do I have any recourse to get these back? I know I was a Level 2 before. Thanks

Hi ~Bee,
(thank you for the encouragements elsewhere)
Hi George,
"...the number of posts now only indicates the number of posts since the new system" plus the number of posts that were still online before the switch.
We don't see the prior posts yet, but on the other hand the number of posts now just grows and no old post gets regularly deleted anymore like before.
Good day!

Yesterday my list only had 1-8 on the first page and 11-20 on the second. Today it is page 2 which only has 11-18.
Is this a bug or is it because I had a post or posts on a thread with a blatant advertisement which is now removed after my report.
I'm not sure if this is a criticism or not but I find "My Posts" an essential route in with the new system as I contribute to five different discussions and I don't spot relevant posts so easily.Hi David,
This is a bug, see my post here:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=265855&tstart=0
(hopefully you can follow my clumsy and wordy explanations)
Missing numbers can be explained among the very old posts, because they are removed after 3 months of inactivity
(although the way they miss doesn't show any logic)
but the new posts are easy to monitor: I guess you'll see your "number 8" and "number 11" (not missing) changing, not being anymore the same ones,
meaning that there are no removals between them (9 and 10).
This means also that the "Posts: xxxx" number that shows on the left, under Name and Avatar, is not reliable.
It was created from the Old Discussions posts that were still online, OK, but it was created from a numbering that had missing numbers.
FYI
my missing #100 is back again, now it's the #110 (and many others) that has disappeared since a couple of days.
And no, they are not removed posts, nor old posts from Old Discussions. It's easy to follow that the same #109 and #111 are becoming #111 and #112... with the same #110 not showing, and not corresponding to any post at all.
"I'm not sure if this is a criticism or not but I find "My Posts" an essential route in with the new system as I contribute to five different discussions and I don't spot relevant posts so easily."
Same here.
That's why from now on I'll keep myself the count of my posts, New Discussions/Total Posts, like for example Niel who has been doing it from the beginning).

I've been waiting since changeover to determine if this issue was going to resolve itself. Since there has been tweaking in this area; but it seems all is quite now, so I should mention this.
I'm a level three, but since changeover my total posts are sitting at zero. Also some of my profile info was blanked out too. Some but not all.
Will there be a resolution to this?
Thanks, AlanWhat is showing as your "Total Posts" are really what used to be called "Posts Online". So if you haven't posted in a while this would not be surprising. The actual total posts as well as your point totals are being remembered but not displayed.
Here is an announcement they made:

Total Posts or Current On Line Posts?
Tuttle, Dennis, et al.
I notice that the number of posts under my handle are a "puny" six.
I thought in the "old days" the number of posts in the adjacent column was your total posts. I have ~1,400 posts.
Does the new software reflect current on line posts or is my count in the adjacent column starting over because of the the new Software?
My profile does reflect the proper aggregate number.
Thanks,
Canoe
3 MacBooks, 2 GHz, 2 GB; 2 AEBS, 1 AXBS Mac OS X (10.4.8)Hi, again, Canoe -
Yes, online posts are displayed in the sidebar to the left under our names where total points were once displayed.
My profile does reflect the proper aggregate number.
It's actually a little bit off. The total number of posts in our Profiles reflects our total posts at the time of the last change of forum software, but due to an accounting issue, the number of posts we had online at the time of the last change was inadvertently added together with our total posts, thus the number of total posts displayed in our Profiles overstates our real totals.
You would have to have some record of how many posts you had online at the time of the changeover to know with any certainty how many posts you'd need to subtract from the total that shows in your Profile to arrive at the true number.
You might also notice that at the time of the change in software, the number of points required for each level as well as our point totals were doubled with points being rounded to the nearest five, as the present software only doles out points in increments of five. -

Totals Posting for A/R & A/P
Hi
Our client has a requirement in which the A/R & A/P Posting in the reconciliation account should be created only for the totals and not the line items as is created. How can the same be mapped?
MBHi,
In my opinion, this requirement cannot be met, because SAP (R/3) has its own limitations. SAP is an OLTP (Online Transaction Processing System) and line items are much for auditing and statutory purposes.
If you want only totals, I would suggest to implement Business Intelligence (BI).
BI is an OLAP (Online Analytical Processing System) where you can do multi dimensional reporting.

HTTPConnection POST -- missing data
Help!
I have a client-server MIDP app; the client communicates with the server using HTTPConnection POST requests.
The application is running on PalmOS (with MIDP4PalmOS) on the Handspring Visor Prism.
(I am using a Xircom Wireless Ethernet module.)
The first request/response works fine.
Subsequent request/responses do not work.
Network sniffing shows missing HTTP data.
That is, some HTTP data is not transmitted to the server.
Sometimes the body, sometimes the Content-Length and sometimes the Content-Type is missing (or all of
them).
I have noticed that if I use the header "Connection" "close" then I can go longer before the data starts to get dropped, but eventually it does.
Any ideas? Are there any known issues with POST and MIDP4PalmOS?
Thanks for any help...Hi,
Have you solved this thing?
I would like to now how?

Open asset acctng year in closed FI fiscal year - asset not totally posted
Hello Friends,
In January we have closed 2010 in finance but Asset accounting year remained open.
Now I have an asset with planned depreciation in 2010 which was not posted. Now I can't close asset accounting for 2010.
I have read about SAP note 29694 and program RACORR20_A in the forum, but I'm not sure about it's consecuences. Can't I just delete the planned depreciation in 2010, close the year and set an unplanned depreciation for the same value in 2011?
Thanks in advance.
Juanma.Hi Juan
You have 2 choices, one of which you have identified already
a. Note 619969 - This will let you post dep in 2010... This will change balance in your FI books
b.Note 29694 - If you dont wanna post anything in 2010 due to legal issues, then use the program mentioned in the note and this will make Posted dep = Planned Dep
Advisable is Note 619969 of the two

Report Total Wrapping/Missing Data in CSV FIle
PROBLEM:
We have an application were the totals in the report region will wrap when the total is negative and formatted with a negative sign preceding the number (e.g. -43,567.99). The wrapping results in users being confused to wether or not a value is negative or positive. We want all non-numeric columns to wrap so that the user does not have to scroll horizontally.
SOLUTIONS TRIED
1. Set the CCS Style attribute of a column to white-space:nowrap.
The value of CCS Style is inserted into span tags associated with a column value which in turn elliminates the wrapping in the detailed area of the report. However, I have no found a way to insert this type of span tag to the Total of a report region.
2. Modifying the format mask to present negative numbers in brackets (e.g. <43,567.99>).
This solves the wrapping issue . . . however results in a problem when outputting the report to a CSV file. When outputting to a CSV file the negative number that have been formatted using bracket are not included in the output. I believe that it interprets them as html tags <> and therefore eliminates them from the output.
3. Create duplicate amount columns in the report and apply a number format that places a negative sign in front of negative numbers and make this column display conditionally for CSV output only Then change the original column format mask to use brackets. Although this will work it seem a bit clunky, results in unnecessary pull of excess data and will require a lot of re-work/re-testing of our system.
REQUEST
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might either:
1. Add white-space:nowrap to the totals of the report region
2. Overcome the exclusion of negative numbers containing brackets from the CSV output.
3. HAve another approach to resolving this wrapping issue.
Thanks,
DavidAccording to this article http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/nobr.html this is a known wrapping issue with Internet Explorer. Wrapping will occure when the following characters exists -()[]{}«»%°·\/!?. The author of the article suggest that the only way around this issue is too place -a or use white-space:nowrap in a [td] or [tr] tag.
This would suugest that I need to find a way to add html to the total column in the htmldb report . . . which I don't believe I can do . . . Does anyone know of a way to insert html into these total columns similiar to how we can be done using the CCS Style or HTML Expression attributes.
Thanks,
David. -
Query to get total for missing Dates
Hi All
Please help in writing this query.
I have a table with the below values
Tx_code -- TX_date --- Amount -- Accumlated_amt
101 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 100 -- 100
102 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 300 -- 300
103 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 500 -- 500
101 -- 02-Jul-2011 -- 150 -- 250
103 -- 02-Jul-2011 -- 100 -- 600
101 -- 03-Jul-2011 -- 250 -- 500
103 -- 03-Jul-2011 -- 50 -- 650
I want the output as below
101 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 100 -- 100
102 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 300 -- 300
103 -- 01-Jul-2011 -- 500 -- 500
101 -- 02-Jul-2011 -- 150 -- 250
102 -- 02-Jul-2011 -- 0 -- 300
103 -- 02-Jul-2011 -- 100 -- 600
101 -- 03-Jul-2011 -- 250 -- 500
102 -- 03-Jul-2011 -- 0 -- 300
103 -- 03-Jul-2011 -- 50 -- 650
For Tx_code 102 is available in 01-Jul-2011 but not in 02-Jul-2011 and 03-Jul-2011
But i want this row in my output for all other dates.

New number of posts bug(?) + question; no number 100, and total number of posts vary
Intrigued by Tuttle's new attempt to join Niel's old habit to keep his own total number of posts count, I went and start counting my posts since the New Discussions. Because I saved my latest Old Discussions Post-and-Points info, I can see what are the previously-still-online ones (the pre- 14-Nov-2005 01:31 GMT ones), and I know exactly what was my "real" total number of posts before 14-Nov-2005 (2446).
My New Discussions posts number however, is quite uncertain.
Firstly, when I use the "My Posts" link on the right, then clicking on and on on the "Next" link,
my "Viewing 91-100 of 586 -- Pages" shows 91-99 instead of 91-100
(= should show 10 posts, shows 9 posts)
then I go on clicking Next Next Next, and I see the same missing counts happen elsewhere:
my posts number 100, 259, 260, 370, 390, 520, 558, 559, 560, 578, 579, and 580 are missing too.
Note that I wouldn't bother doing all this, and I would have thought it's just very old posts that are automatically deleted like in the Old Discussions,
BUT,
the problem is that when I choose to see all my posts together on the same page
(by using the start=0&range=600 suffix in the URL)
I get a total number of posts that is different (570).
A third way to quickly see all posts without having to load too big page
(using the start=0&range=300 suffix in the URL then only one "Next" click)
shows yet another, different again, number of total posts (573).
And my "official" total number of posts is (586).
Dear HOSTS,
- If this can be used as a bug report to fix a counting problem, glad to help.
- If there is no bug, I have two(+) questions then:
1) Was my post number 100 deleted?
(should be around 27-Nov-2005 18:00 GMT)
Also:
I thought the Total Posts number that we see in "My Public Profile" or under the avatar in each post (586), was only the number of posts still online.
- if it is the case, then there are no automatically deleted old posts anymore?
- if old posts are automatically deleted like before, this number should vary?
- if it doesn't vary (it just grows by one per new post), AND at the same time old posts are actually automatically deleted,
it has to show the "real" total number of posts then,
(as it is now, a total starting from the Old-Discussions-still-online-posts, it makes no sense),
that is,
the total posts in the New Discussions PLUS the total posts since first registration in the Old Discussions.
So,
2) What does it show exactly?
Thanks again for all the great work!
Axl
220? 221?Thank you Andreas,
Your confirmation about the "post #100 bug" does help.
"As for your other missing posts - I guess Tuttle's assessment that they might be deleted is probably right..."
Yes, that makes sense and that's what I'm trying to figure in my OP, but then,
after I posted my "#221/2667 post" (11-Dec-2005 21:51 GMT), my originally missing #
259, 260, 370, 390, 520, 558, 559, 560, 578, 579, and 580
should have become
260, 261, 371, 391, 521, 559, 560, 561, 579, 580, and 581
right? (forget the #100: this one we know for sure it's a bug)
Or if the software counts them from the first (now that would have been a good start) instead of starting from the most recent,
they should become
258, 259, 369, 389, 519, 557, 558, 559, 577, 578, and 579
Well, that's not what happened. Now the missing # are
259, 260, 370, 390, 400, 520, 559, 560, 570, 579, and 580
(in addition to the same #100) (#558 and 578 not missing anymore).
As you can see, there is no logic:
It doesn't work as a simple numerotation of StillOnlinePosts, no matter the order
(otherwise there would simply be a straight count from 1 to 575 (=587-12).
It looks indeed like it shows which old posts are being automatically deleted. That the numbers are quite the same would simply show that the old posts dates were so close, of course they are deleted (six months later) almost at the same time,
BUT,
if it was the case, there would never be LESS deleted posts between two StillOnlinePosts, like it happens for example between my StillOnlinePosts #557 and #561.
Please note: of course I stick to the same method to make all my counts. Not manually modifying the URL, just using the default Next-Next-Next- clicking...
Modifying URL would add yet more differences in the differences!..
Dear Hosts,
Too bad it doesn't help looking yourself at my "My Posts", as everything changes each time I'm adding a reply somewhere.
Perhaps a good way to troubleshoot this would be to start from a very simple basis:
--> "name" the posts with a number, starting from the oldest.
This way, for example my "#1" post (11-Dec-2005 21:51 GMT in this thread) would be named "221" in the New Discussions, or "2667" if you start from my Registration date.
At the moment, it is very difficult to figure what fault comes from the "#100 post bug" and what fault comes from another possible counting bug...
Then the New Discussions "fluctuating" refreshing delay too, possibly messes the counts...
Thanks!
Axl

Missing Sub Totals from web layouts
Hi Gurus
We are on BPS 4.0 and BW 3.5
I have made some changes to a layout (inserted few lines at the top thereby pushing earlier lines below) and it looks good when I display planning data in BPS0 but when I display in weblayout, the sub totals are missing and instead blank lines are being shown. I have regenerated layouts, weblayouts 2-3 times but no help.
Obviously, I am doing something wrong. Could someone point me in right direction?
Thanks
RajeshHi,
SAP doesn't recommends to change the generated template from manual layout. If you want to upload your own template then it has to be generic across all applications in BPS.
If you want to increase the number of lines displayed in layout, it should be added in the bottom of the template or else you can use program( se38) UPP_SET_DEFAULT_DUMMIES
Thanks

7 post total... should be more then 1000
On my total posts it says 7 but under the old discussions it was over 1000 and I had more then 3000 points. Anyway, nice update but it isn't as smooth as it might seem.
Your total posts hasn't changed, just that at present only those remaining on-line are being counted. The Hosts are working on resolving that. Your points accumulated are also intact, but for the moment display of them is turned off due to the need to resolve other issues. As I understand it, displaying this information may put the system under an additional load that would hinder resolution of other performance related issues.
Things are getting sorted out!
