Total Problem in Ladger Style report

display report like this
Opening balance = 1000
KGS BALANCE
100 900
100 800
50 750
what formula I should use in Balance field.
Please help in this regard.

see there is one problem with your code if you keep the opening balance outside the repeating group it will throw an error of frequency mismatch, beacause you are referencing a column outisde the group, what i would suggest is to keep the opening balance inside the group, calculate opening balance from a formula column, use this opening balance to calculate your second balance(repeating), now place a summary column outside the group and chosse (sum) as the calculation mode and source as your inside the group formula column which u used for calculating the opening balance, you work will be done and output as required by you, try this, if not, i will send you the complete code.

  • Problem in matrix style report

i have generate a matrix style report which has 5 X 4 = 20 cells . now in the report all cell values should not be filled according to the data in the tables but every cell in the report is filled . and more is that the filled values in the cell which are supposed to be blank is repeated from other cells . what is this problem and how to correct it ? i have an idea that this might be some varibale issue but cant figure it out .plz somebody help me out from this

    Hi,
This problem of REP-1813 because, the data fetched into a matrix cell exceeds the capacity of the cell--
e.g., the cell may contain a variable field, and the data may be longer than expected.
Therefore, to solve this issue u may want to either enlarge your matrix cells until they are able to contain the data fetched into them, or redefine your data.

  • MATRIX WITH GROUP     (REPORT TOTAL PROBLEM)

    DEAR FRIENDS,
I HAVE A PROBLEM IN GROUP ABOVE MATRIX IN THE REPORT TOTAL.
    THE SCENARIO IS THIS...
    VEHICLE : CAR
    ----------------------- WEEK1 WEEK2 WEEK3 TOTAL
    ESTEEM 10 30 40 80
    ZEN 30 40 10 80
    DELUX 40 30 10 80
    SUB TOTAL 80 100 60 240
    VEHICLE : VAN
    ----------------------- WEEK1 WEEK2 WEEK3 TOTAL
    OMNI 10 30 40 80
    OMNIDX 30 40 10 80
    OMNILX 40 30 10 80
    SUB TOTAL 80 100 60 240
    GRAND TOTAL 160 200 120 480.
IN THIS VEHICLE IS THE GROUP AND WEEK1,WEEK2... IS MATRIX COLUMNS AND ZEN,ESTEEM IS MATRIX ROWS.
I AM UNABLE TO INCORPORATE THE GRAND TOTAL IN THIS TYPE OF REPORT. I AM USING 10G VERSION 9.0.4.
PLEAE TELL ME HOW TO DO THAT.
    THANKS
    VENKY.

If you got your subtotals to work than getting your grand total shouldn't be difficult at all. Your grand total column summaries should be one grouping above where your subtotal column summaries reside. I am guessing this will put them at the report level. Meaning they will not be in a group, just free floating in your data model. Good luck.

    hi!
I am facing a problem in marix reports because a very late change in customer requirement.he wants a page total at the end of every page in the report ,because these reports are matrix style, they involve cross product.i can get the grand total at the end of the report because the summary column works well at report level, but when i try to reset it at page level,at times it shows blank or generates an error that matrix report fetches everthing at report level and cannot generate results at page level.but now how do i get these page totals without changing these matrix reports.Plz reply ASAP

Hi I was browsing through the forum, and found no reply to your question, if you still interested about the solution I can send you my RDF file where I did the page level total in matrix report as well as brought
forward in next page, this is something very hard for me to explain in word, so if you can give me your email address I can send you the RDF file.
    Thanks & Regards

Conceptually Report Aggregate Enabled should work. Look into this blog article which refers same.

  • Left Group style report highlight row issue

I have a Left group style report that I need rows highlighted for sub-total lines in the report. I have coded it with the following in a fiield after the for each of the report
<?if@row:PERF_NON_PERF='Sub-Total'?><xsl:attribute name="background-color" xdofo:ctx="incontext">yellow</xsl:attribute><?end if?>It highlights MOST of the row but ends up missing the last few columns. The page setup has been set to landscape to maximize the amount of data being displayed.
I can send along sample data and rtf file if needed, just seems rather... Weird...
    Any help would be welcome..

  • Totals in a cross tab report

I'm working with Crystal Reports XI.  We have an existing report that was created using the Cross-tab report type.
There are 3 summary fields in the report:
    - direct cost
    - indirect cost
    - Total ( direct cost + indirect cost)
Everything worked fine until now because both the direct cost and the indirect cost were being rounded to 2 decimal places.  However, I have a new requirement to round the indirect cost total to a whole dollar ( no decimal places) before adding it to the direct cost total.  This creates a problem for the third summary field because I'm only able to do:
    - create a formula field of (direct cost + indirect cost rounded to a whole dollar)
    - use that amount in the summary field
The problem is that then the indirect cost is being rounded for EACH record separately.  But what I need to to calculate the Total indirect cost first and only after I have that total rounded to a whole dollar, add it to the direct cost total.
So basically, I would like for the third row to simply show the sum of the first row and the second row.
I can't take the current total ( direct cost + indirect cost) and then round this total because the rounding for the total direct cost needs to be done in a different way than the rounding for the indirect cost total.
Is that possible with the cross-tab report type?  Is it possible to have 2 running totals in a cross tab report and then have a custom field in the report that rounds each using the appropriate rounding algorithm and then adds the two up.
    thanks

Thank you for your suggestions.  I kind of suspected that I wouldn't be able to use the current cross tab report to achieve this but since I've never worked with a cross tab report before I wanted to make sure this is the case before investing the time to do it some other way.
I will try using the manual cross tab report as you suggested.
    Thanks again.

  • Problems with Downloading BI Reports to Excel  in Office 2007

    Hi,
I've created reports using the BI Publisher plugin for Word 2007 and deployed these through Apex. Users that have Office 2003 installed get to download the file without any compatibility issues. Those users on Office 2007 get a warning as follows:
"The file you are trying to open. 'filename.xls' , is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now? "
The file will open and save, it's just annoying getting this message each time. There aren't any problems when downloading the report in other formats.

This is a known issue.. It is a "Fix" from Microsoft, to make sure folks know that the file is NOT a true Blue XLS style file.. My office just went through this and it can be adjusted, but involves a registry setting that they DID NOT want to impliment..

  • Filtering Calendar style report

One of my users likes my calendar style report but wants to add a drop-down menu and select a user name which the calendar would then use to filter its information. "All users" will also be an option.
My Calendar is already coded but I'm new to Apex so I"m reluctant to experiment with it. How do I do this in Apex?
Steve "the n00b" in Raleigh NC

To make it clearer what my problem is, I have a calendar format report with the following code to select the data that goes on the calendar. Here is the code:
    select
    "ID",
    "ACTIVITY_DATE",
    "CONTACT_NAME",
    "USER_NAME",
    "SUMMARY"
    from "EBA_VER2_CUST_ACTIVITY"
    where (:P22_USER_NAME_FILTER = USER_NAME)
    or (:P22_USER_NAME_FILTER IS NULL)
P22_USER_NAME_FILTER is an item on the page which, if it's not null, controls which user's activities are displayed. If it's null (as I expect it would be On Load), then the Select should get activities for everyone.
However, when I run this thing I'm told I need an INTO parameter and the job crashes. What's going on?

  • How to show more than one record at a form-like style report?

    Hi All,
    I developed a form-like style report
I want it to show more than one record at once (At the same page)
I tried that by setting the value to "Maximum records per page" property for the repeating frame to 10
but when I close the property palete and open it agian the value is returned to 1 !!!
how to show more than one record at the same page?????
    Thank u

    Hi,
there's perhaps another property like "page protect". If than 2 records didn't fit at one page there's a page break. Or is there any object inside the repeating frame with page-break properties? Sorry .. it's like looking into a chrystal ball ...

  • Problem with running bitmap report in Oracle 6i

    Hello,
I am running a report from a form using run_product in client/server enviroment. And I use the same code in all forms that run reports. In test enviroment, everything works normally. But in customer enviroment there is weird behaviour. Some reports need a lot of time to be executed, and when they are finally finished, report previewer is not maximized as it is in test enviroment. And more important problem is that one report doesn't execute at all. Report background engine is started but report doesn't come out at all.
Here is code which I use to run reports:

    Hello,
When you put a block on a "new stacked canvas" that canvas is generated as a popup canvas. If that popup overlaps with some other generated items (for instance: items in master block) Forms will not show it.
You can try showing that popup canvas programatically with Show_View('canvas_name') in When-New-Form-Instance and see what happens.
    Dalibor
P.S. Why do you have to put detail block on a popup canvas? Why don't you simply put it on a "same content canvas"?

  • Problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on windows application ("specified type is not valid ")

    Hi
I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
Please see the Code sample below.
    private sub loadReport()
         Dim r as New ReportDocument
'v is the name of the Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control
         r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")
v.ReportSource(r) <---It throw error on this line.
    End Sub
Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
    Thanks in advances.
    Many thanks
    Chi

VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

    Hi,
I would first of all suggest you don't open the same question twice. this looks like a duplicate to this entry:

Did you assign the queries and the infosets to an InfoSet user group and you assign the SAP account to it as well ?

  • Problem with output from  report to excel, calling the report from form 10g

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem generating a excel from a report, which is called from a form, I'm using Forms 10g. The problem is this: My report has a variable number of columns. These columns appear according to data obtained from the database, these columns are dates, In vesion 6 excel file generated shows the columns one after another starting in column A1 to column CP. I mean that the dates are correlative. But in version 10g the excel file generated shows the same report starting in column A to column T, only shows the 20 dates correlative corresponding to this columns, the rest of the dates are down the excel sheet in groups of 20 dates, it's something, the file in 6i grows across and in 10g grows down the excel sheet. The report (rdf file) is the same in 6i and 10g, I compiled the 6i version to obtain the 10g version. The excel sheet generated in 10g looks like the report was in pdf format, because PDF format, cuts the report in pages and the file grows down, if I generate the report in PDF format it has the same structure excel file in 10g has. I hope yo can help because I have days trying to solve this but I have no succes. If someone could help I could email the excel files generated in two versions. Here I put the code I use to generate the files in 6i and 10g. I have tried with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET in 10g but the result is the same. Thanks for your help. Greetings for all.

There are two problems with your VI.  First, the basic logic of writing/appending to a file (Excel, TDMS, anything) should go something like this:  Open the file, position yourself at the end of the file, then, in the loop, acquire data and write it to the file until you are finished with data acquisition.  When you exit the acquire/write to file loop, then close the file.  In particular, the opening and the closing of the file should not be inside the loop.
As others have pointed out, writing to Excel might not be optimal, particularly if you are acquiring data at a high rate (and would therefore be writing a lot of data). We actually use Excel in our data acquisition routine, mainly reading from a WorkSheet to get the parameters of a particular stimulus, but also writing the outcome of the response to the stimulus.  As it happens, our "acquisition rate" in this example is on the order of several samples per minute, so there's no problem using Excel (we also sample 16 channels of analog data at 1 KHz -- this gets written as a binary file).
Second, if you really do want to use Excel, use the (existing) Excel file to which you want to append as the "template" argument of the New Report function.  Then use the Excel Get Last Row function to position yourself at "end of file", as noted above.
    Good Luck.
