Total size of pic's when all are highlighted?

Hi, I was just wondering how I can get the total size of all my pic's together in my Organizer. If I highlight just one and go to properties it will show the size but the problem is I want to know how to find the size of all the pic's. Wanting to burn pic's to DVD 4.7 GB of space on DVD-R. Want to know if I have enough space to burn all my pic's.
Thanks, [email protected]

All I can find is this:
With the images selected, click File > Burn... to bring up the Burn/Backup
dialog.
On the first screen, select Copy/Move, click Next. On the second screen,
make sure that Move Files is UNCHECKED unless you actually want to remove
the files from your hard drive -- click Next.
On the third screen, you will be able to see the size of the batch you have
selected, providing you have blank media in the drive.
With luck, someone else will know a more elegant solution to calculating the
total size of the batch within Elements.

• Groupwise client is reporting 1 unread email when all are read

Hi Folks,
I have a rather strange problem that I'm hoping to find a solution to. I
have one user who's client is reporting that there is an unread email in
her inbox when all have been read. In fact, she has either deleted or
moved all mail out of her inbox to either a cabinet directory or an
archive. I had her log in at another workstation and the issue followed
her. I have run both an analyze/fix with all the options checked, and a
structural rebuild on her user database, and found no problems.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kris

Do an "Advanced Find" with filter options "Item Status" "does not include"
"Read".
Now you should see any unread Item. If it's only one Item, it must be this
one you see in the Home View. Just delete it or move it to another Folder.

• Radio buttons (from Indesign) get larger and overlap when fields are highlighted in Acrobat X

I have created my first set of interactive forms using Indesign CS6 Buttons and Forms dialog box. As the formatting of the fields does not seem to carry over, I have left the text boxes as Indesign objects and added text fields over the top of them in Acrobat X. I also intended to add drop down menus in Acrobat instead because I didn't like how the Indesign list box behaved in Acrobat (having to click through each item rather than dropping down the entire list). There does not seem to be a way to add a drop down menu item from within Indesign. (Or if there is, can someone please point it out? :-) )
However I used the sample buttons supplied within Indesign to create radio buttons and check boxes (which automatically included the graphics for the different states). On my first test export to Acrobat it appeared that the buttons retained their formatting, but something rather strange is happening when the fields are highlighted, whereby the buttons enlarge and overlap each other. Very frustrating I must say! I have just about gone nuts trying to find a solution. I've tried several different button options from the sample set; I've created them from scratch within Indesign; I've attempted to resize the fields in Acrobat form editing mode, but this screws up the original buttons. I also have found that once selected in Acrobat, I cannot deselect them again. (Don't know if this is significant info but it may point to some kind of stacking problem??)
Anyway, to make it clearer here are some screen captures:
1. Form as it looks when opened in Acrobat X. The two different check box styles are from me experimenting in trying to fix this issue. But they all seem to behave the same way once highlighted.
2. Form when interactive fields are highlighted. The text fields are perfect but note the big ugly overlapping circles... :-(
And some further explanation of how I created the buttons and their issues:
I would very much appreciate some guidance on what I'm doing wrong here, as my poor little head is going to explode very shortly (and my client is getting pretty annoyed at the delay!!)
Thank you in advance :-)

I am having the exact same problem. I can't find a way around it. It seems that they included some states like normal, rollover, and click—but they didn't include a highlighted state. So when highlight fields is on it just shows the generic standard check box, which looks ridiculous if you have customized it at all in inDesign. I read a lot of people saying they can't find a way to change the highlight state—anyone out there have any answers?

• Help writing a formula to total a list of numbers when some are negative and some are positive

How do I write a formula in Numbers 3.5 that will produce a result that is the sum of some positive and negative numbers, as in
Header 1
57.23
65.44
(75.26)
=
Obviously, if it's just a SUM of all positive numbers, its go to the destination cell, hit the = sign, choose SUM and the cells and you're done, but what if one cell contains a negative number.
I feel like a dunderhead, and I hope someone can help a poor waif.
I am running a MB Pro 15" Retina that is about a month old with Yosemite.
Thanks so much!

It's hard to tell with tables pasted into the forum, but if your "numbers" are left-aligned in your document, then it's possible that Numbers thinks they are text, not numbers, and your SUM formula will show a 0.
If that's happening, try selecting the cells, clicking the Format "paintbrush" upper right, selecting the Cell tab, and choosing Number as Data Format.
The numbers in the column should then be right-aligned, suggesting Numbers recognizes them as numbers, and you can insert a SUM formula just as you would if they were all positive numbers.

Is there any way to do the following:
Table Fav_Colors has person_id and a row for each of their favorite colors.
I am trying to create a field that will 'label' their color choices, depending on what they chose.
For example, if Person1 chose blue, green, and yellow I would want to label that as "Sea Colors"
If Person2 chose yellow, orange, and red I would want to label that as "Fire Colors"
I am using the following formula:
if fav_colors.color = ["blue", "green", "yellow"] then "Sea Colors"else if if fav_colors.color = ["yellow","orange", "red"] then "Fire Colors"
The formula is labelling Person2's colors as "Sea Colors" because they have chosen Yellow, and "Sea Colors" is first in the "If" list. In other words it is using "OR" instead of "AND" for the if selection.
Is there any way to do this?

Thanks to Bandit07 and Charliy!
I have this mostly working, except for the totals.
Here is my dilema. People can select up to 6 colors, but there is the possibility that they can select two of the same color. So to get each color to only count once, I had to group by Person, by Color. Here is how I have my report set up:
Group 1 - PersonGroup 2 - Color
Formula 1 - Yellow - if GroupName() = "Yellow" then 1, else 0Formula 2 - Blue - if GroupName() = "Blue" then 1, else 0... (for each color)
Running Total 1 - Yellow - Summarize Sum of @Yellow for each Color, reset on PersonRunning Total 2 - Blue - Summarize Sum of @Blue for each Color, reset on Person... (for each color)
Label:if #blue + #yellow + green = 3 then "Sea Colors"else if #yellow + #red + #orange = 3 then "Fire Colors"... (for each color scheme)
My issue is that I can't do a running total on the running total, nor can I summarize my @Color formulas because they are evaluating groups. Is there any way to get this to work without needing to group per Color, to remove duplicates?

• SelectManyChoice-Hitting the "Enter" button when "ALL" is highlighted

Hi,
We have noticed the behavior that, while using the keyboard for navigation, highlighting the "ALL" option in the selectManyChoice component and hitting the "Enter" key, doesn't select anything.
Whereas, highlighting any of the items in the list and hitting "Enter" selects that item.
I have observed that hitting the "Space" key or Ctrl + "A" selects all the items. Is there any way to ensure that hitting "Enter" on "ALL" selects all the items in the list?
Thanks, Sruthi

Hi,
what you describe is the default behavior for check boxes. To use "Enter" you would need to intercept the keyboard key, which is difficult as the checkbox is embedded in the component. So without testing I would say that no, there is no option for this

Have been trying all weekend to upload Jpegs- either Send does not work or shows files uploading then shows error- never had this problem with Send Now-16 images total size 92MB-largest image 13MB

Hi Ciaran19,
Are you sending files from the Adobe Send interface, Adobe Reader, or the Outlook plug-in?
Have you checked to see whether the files that you're sending appear in the Recent Files/Sent Files list when you're logged on to https://cloud.acrobat.com? (It could be that they're uploading, but not being sent.)
It would also be worthwhile to send the files in smaller batches, to see whether a particular file or files is problematic, and causing the error.
Please let us know how it goes. If you're still having trouble, please let us know where you're sending from, and whether you're able to send the files in smaller batches. It would also be helpful to know the exact error message that you're receiving.
Best,

• How to find the total size of the database before the Restore.

Hi Guys,
I'll do a Restore, but I do not know the environment and need to know what the total size of the database to create a storage area.
Is there any way to find out the total size of the database(including all datafiles and temp) using only the RMAN catalog before running the Restore.
I'm using Tivoli TSM with ASM.

Hi tychos,
break on report
compute sum of TOTAL_DB on Report
select 'DataFiles' NAME, SUM(ROUND(bytes/1024/1024/1024)) TOTAL_DB from rc_datafile
where db_name = 'ORCL'
UNION ALL
select 'TempFiles' NAME, SUM(ROUND(bytes/1024/1024/1024)) TOTAL_DB from rc_tempfile
where db_name = 'ORCL'This query returned I had 372 Gbytes of data.
At the end of the Restore Database got the size of 408 Gbytes.
The total size of all Redo was 3Gbytes that was not being counted anyway there was a difference of 33Gbytes.
I need to understand the reason for the difference in sizes.
It makes no sense to me RMAN catalog does not inform the total size of the database (Datafiles, tempfiles, Redo and controlfile) before the Restore since it's information is already somewhere.
Thanks for your help.

• All my photos have been imported to iPhoto library. Is it safe therefore to delete all photos in the Finder pictures folder? It seems crazy to have them duplicated (all are backed up externally). And are they full size images in iPhoto?

All my photos have been imported to iPhoto library. Is it safe therefore to delete all photos in the finder picture folder? It seems crazy to have them dupllcated ( all are backed up anyway). And are they the full sized images stored in iPhoto?

Assuming you have iPhoto set to the Default setting, then yes, your full sized photos are copied into the iPhoto Library and so you can delete your own stored in the Finder.
Easiest way to check: Select a photo in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder Window should open with the file selected. Is it stored within the iPhoto Library? You can tell easily in the Finder's column view.
As an FYI:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

• Can we change log_buffer parameter online e.g. when all users are working..

Hi,
Can we change log_buffer parameter online e.g. when all users are working.. ???
What is relation between redo buffer in sga and log_buffer parameter ?

SSM

I am hoping your Oracle Consultant know what he's talking about.
According to Oracle Performance Guide,
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/memory.htm#sthref654
"On most systems, sizing the log buffer larger than 1M does not provide any performance benefit. Increasing the log buffer size does not have any negative implications on performance or recoverability. It merely uses extra memory.
The best method to determine if bigger redo buffer is needed is
SELECT NAME, VALUE
FROM V$SYSSTAT
WHERE NAME = 'redo buffer allocation retries';
The value of redo buffer allocation retries should be near zero over an interval. If this value increments consistently, then processes have had to wait for space in the redo log buffer. The wait can be caused by the log buffer being too small or by checkpointing. Increase the size of the redo log buffer, if necessary, by changing the value of the initialization parameter LOG_BUFFER. The value of this parameter is expressed in bytes. Alternatively, improve the checkpointing or archiving process.
Other than that, hight log file sync event indicate you need faster disk for your redo logfiles. However, please also post your commits per second and redo per second from your AWR report.
100M redo logs might be small for your environment.

• How can you reinstall SL on a older mini, I just upgraded to Lion .Since I downloaded it, I made a disk copy for the future when all the kinks are work out. But would really like to go back to SL for now. I tried my reinstall disk, which didn't work.

I have an older Mac mini using SL as my last upgrade and really like it.. Just last week I upgraded to Lion, and do not like it,,,I would like to reinstall SL but do not know how to go about it,,,I did burn a copy of Lion and will reinstall it when all the kinks are worked out..Can someone tell me how uninstall Lion and reinstall SL.....Thx

Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.
