Tracing SOAP-ENV:Server.Exception errors

Hi,
I have generated my WebServices from an ADF Application Module using Jdeveloper 10.1.2.1.
After deploying the Web Services to the Application Server I call the web service test screens i.e. http://machine:port/MyWebServicesPath/MyWebService to check that the deployment has been successful.
When I enter the required values into the test screen occasionally I receive a SOAP response that contains error messages that are not being returned from my application code
e.g.
faultcode = FaultSOAP-ENV:Server.Exception
faultstring = oracle.jbo.common.ampool.ApplicationPoolException: JBO-30003: The application pool (package1.MyServiceLocal) failed to checkout an application module due to the following exception:
faultactor = /MyWebServicesPath/MyWebService
Checking the logs written by the web service application code confirms that these errors are thrown before the values reach the application code.
Are there any logs that would give me a clearer picture of what the problem is as tracking down the problem by trial and error often requires multiple time-consuming redeployments.
Thanks in advance
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
From a quick search with google on JBO-30003, it seams to indicate that the most common error condition is a dead connection to the underlying database.
The ADF Application Module that you are exposing as a service is most likely to be the one throwing this error. The SOAP server is then wrapping this runtime error into a SOAP fault with the code,actor and string that you see.
Hope this helps,
Eric

  • MS SQL Server Exception Error

    I am working on a project that sends information to MS SQL Server. When submitting information to the database, I am using a stored procedure that I wrote. When I submit information to the database, I get this exception:
    java.sql.SQLException: No ResultSet was produced.
    Here is the code for the stored procedure:
    CREATE PROCEDURE insertcusip(
    @IssueName varchar(20),
    @DDate datetime,
    @Cusip2 varchar(15) )
    as
    insert into IssueCusip(
    IssuerName,
    DatedDate,
    Cusip )
    values(
    @IssueName,
    @DDate,
    @Cusip2)
    Here is the code where the information is going into the database:
    try
    // query for insert
    String sql = "EXECUTE insertcusip '"+ IssueNametextField.getText() + "'" + "," + "'" + DatedDatetextField.getText() + "'" + "," + "'" + CusiptextField.getText() + "'";
              System.out.println(sql);
                   stmt11.executeQuery(sql);
                   //ResultSet rset11 = stmt11.executeQuery(sql);
                   //rset11.close();
                   catch(Exception ex)
                        System.out.println(ex);
    But when I check in the database, the information was submitted. Does anyone know where the exception could be coming from?

    probably this line
    stmt11.executeQuery(sql);
    as this returns a resultset but you do not need one.
    just call this instead and see if it fixes it.
    stmt11.execute(sql);

  • OPA 10.4.3 - Oracle.Determinations.Server.Exceptions.NoSuchServiceException

    Hello All,
    Recently deployed OPA 10.4.3 and the corresponding Siebel Connector (Siebel 8.1) in a Dev Environment. Receive the following error with any web service that I try to call onto this environment.
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:i18n="http://www.w3.org/2005/09/ws-i18n" xmlns:typ="http://oracle.com/determinations/server">

    The error message is the same for both the standard "Determinations Server" as well as the specific "Siebel Determinations Server" using IIS5.1 and .NET runtime 2.x
    Siebel Web Determinations and Siebel Web Determinations Embedded seem to working fine though, on the same IIS server.
    Any known issue please?
    Regards,
    Raj

    Managed to resolve the issue with support from Oracle in case anyone else comes across it. I guess it just didn't deploy properly.
    1. Log in as user with Project Admin role on OPA-HUB
    2. Go to 'Projects'
    3. Click '<YOUR PROJECT>' project
    4. Click 'Snapshots' link
    5. Locate the currently deployed snapshot and click 'Undeploy' link
    6. Click 'Undeploy' button to undeploy the project
    7. Click 'Snapshots' link again, then click 'Deploy' link next to same snapshot
    8. Select 'Target' and click 'Deploy' button to finish.

  • Some problem with SOAP OC4J Server

    Hi,
    I made very simple webservice, exposes method sayHello like below:
    public String sayHello(String name)
    return "Hello " + name;
    I deployed it on OC4J Soap Server and registered it, then I generated client stub class. When I run this class, get an error:
    [SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Server.BadTargetObjectURI; msg=Unable to resolve target object(wssoap.WSSoap): wssoap.WSSoap [java.lang.ClassNotFoundException]]
         at wssoap.WSsoapStub.sayHello(WSsoapStub.java:90)
         at wssoap.WSsoapStub.main(WSsoapStub.java:39)
    I use for all JDeveloper 10g (also for stub class generation). What's wrong?
    Krzysztof

    Hi,
    does this show for any project you try to run, or just for a specific? If it does, does the same issue show after a fresh install of JDeveloper (you don't need to delete the existing instance for this) ?

  • SOAP:ENV Error: Resource..not found on this server

    I created a simple java class with a method that returns org.w3c.dom.Element type.
    Created web service for this class and method in Jdeveloper.
    Deployed this web service in OC4J locally (as explained by other web services examples).
    Then I created a Client Stub for this web service (.wsdl file).
    When testing this client stub ( I followed the same steps as mentioned in OTN DEPT/EMP Web Service), I get the following exception:
    D:\JDEVELOPER\jdk\bin\javaw.exe -ojvm -classpath D:\JDEVELOPER\jdev\mywork\MyWorkspace\MyProject2\classes;D:\JDEVELOPER\jdev\lib\jdev-rt.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\jdbc\lib\nls_charset12.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\jdev\lib\jdev-rt.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\soap\lib\soap.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\jlib\javax-ssl-1_2.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\jlib\jssl-1_2.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\j2ee\home\lib\activation.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\j2ee\home\lib\mail.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\j2ee\home\lib\http_client.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\lib\xmlparserv2.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\lib\xmlcomp.jar;D:\JDEVELOPER\rdbms\jlib\xsu12.jar GetProductsClient

    The SOAP response is as bellow:
    HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
    Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2002 15:36:27 GMT
    Server: Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE

    <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>404 Not Found</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><H1>404 Not Found</H1>Resource /MyWorkspace-MyProject2-context-root/GetProducts not found on this server</BODY></HTML>
    The Debug shows, the Method getProductsXM() in the client stub is failing at
    Response response = call.invoke(endpointURL, "");
    This appears to be generating fault and the code is throughing exception which is not casted in to a Element type.
    Not sure what is causing this to fail. And I have not toucjed/ changed the URI for this webservice myself at all. Whatever URIs or Name spaces are there, they are all generarted by JDeveloper.
    I was trying to create a web service that display/return Resultset.
    Any feedback/suggestions ? I would appreciate if you can point me to some sample code that does this ( returning Resultset as XML -<ROWSET> Element)
    Thanks,
    Madhu

    Does this do the trick?
    Server side class:
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    import oracle.xml.parser.v2.*;
    public class Employee
    public Employee ()
    public Element getEmployeeElement(){
    Document doc = new XMLDocument();
    Element elAdd = doc.createElement( "employee");
    Element elA = doc.createElement( "name");
    elA.appendChild(doc.createTextNode("Mike"));
    elAdd.appendChild(elA);
    doc.appendChild(elAdd);
    return doc.getDocumentElement();

    Hi Raja- It seems to be a data quality issue.
    Check for the value @ 1447 position in the xml message that you are trying to send to web service..
    may be a date filed/decimal value which is not in expected format.

    Hi,

    SLD server exception: IO error: Read timed out
    Can any one help on this.

    Ravi.S

    Hi,
    My SLD is a PI 7.0 system and my NWDI is configured on a standalone Java system.
    I have done the SLDDataSupplier check, and it connects fine to the SLD.
    Also on my http://<hostname>:<port>/devinf/main in the NWDI system, the SLD link points to the right SLD and im able to connect.
    Still at the CMS update stage it gives the error -
    SLD (URL http://<hostname>:<port>/) server exception: IO error: Read timed out

  • Rollback is not working when "The server threw an exception" error

    Hi
    These are my transaction steps
    1) Call the StartTransaction method of the company object (Function AA)
    2) Add  Goods Issue (Rollback if error occurs) (Function BB)
    3) Create record with oRecordSet object (Rollback if error occurs) (Function BB)
    4) Add Journal Entry (Rollback if error occurs) (Function CC)
    5) Add Goods Receipt (Rollback if error occurs) (Function DD)
    6) Create record with oRecordSet object (Rollback if error occurs) (Function DD)
    7) Call EndTransaction (with commit) to complete the whole process (Function AA)
    These are working fine usually.
    But problem is when user has "The server threw exception" error message.
    Whole transaction must be rollback but still step 2 and 3 records are exist on DB.
    Rollback is working fine with another error messages.
    I programmed call Rollback transaction if calling function has any error.
    Function BB, CC and DD are calling from Function AA.
    I never have "The server threw an exception" error on my development machine with B1 2005 PL 51.
    This is happened only  LIVE server with B1 2005 PL 51.
    B1 was upgraded from PL29 to PL51 recently becaseu of Locking issue.
    Then Locking issue was solved but have "The server threw an exception" error and rollback is not working properly.
    I hope someone can help me!!!!.
    Thank you
    2) & 3) steps

    Hi Joanne,
    There are 2 things to check here.
    1. is the Transaction
    2. is the RPC_E_SERVERFAULT.
    for the first one,
    in step 2, just before you add the Good Issue, can you try to check first if you are still in a transaction ?
    Just to make sure.
    If it is, maybe you should open a ticket to SAP support.
    BTW, Which version is your Live environment ?
    for the second one,
    try to search the error in this forum. there is a lot of posting about this.
    The problem might also go away if you upgraded your SBO.
    Please search and see if there is anything the same with your problem.
    Regards
    Edy

  • Consuming portlet get error ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR

    hi all,
    i got a strange error when consuming portlet in webcenter portal application.
    i'm using jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 and webcenter framework extension 11.1.1.4
    i have a Portlet Producer Application and a Standards-based Java Portlet (JSR 286) in it.
    The view page of the portlet is a jspx file (view.jspx)
    There is a raw af:table component in the view.jspx file (with no data binding)
    At this time, run the view.jspx in the portlet producer application.
    The view.jspx page shows up in the browser and looks fine just as expected.
    After deploying the portlet to WLS, i include the portlet to the WebCenter Portal Application's home.jspx as an ADF Rich Portlet (from the WSRP Producer in IDE Connections) and run the Portal project.
    Wierd thing happens, a short time after the home page shows up in the browser, the portlet with an af:table in it shows up, but the portlet refresh itself repeatedly and an error is printed in the WLS log:

    I tried to delete the af:table from view.jspx, redeploy the portlet and rerun the portal, the home.jspx page shows up in the browser and looks fine just as expected.
    But the same practice goes on well in jdeveloper 11.1.1.3 with webcenter framework extension 11.1.1.3
    What is the problem ?

    Hi Yannick,
    Thanks for you reply.
    I have edited the question with more details.
    For your questions:
    The error happens when the WLS try to render the portlet for the first time. (a short time after the home page shows up in the browser)
    I'm a starter in webcenter & portlet, so i'm not sure if i use any portlet specific objects. I just create a Standards-based Java Portlet (JSR 286) with almost all the steps in default except in step 3 of 8, i change the view.jsp to view.jspx. In the portlet, i use ADF BC tech & ADF Faces. (There are readonly VO's from database 10g and AMs)
    I think i got the error during PPR. (when the WLS try to render the portlet for the first time)
    BTW: in the WebCenter Portal Application's home.jspx, i include the portlet as an ADF Rich Portlet from the WSRP Producer in IDE Connections.

  • [JCO.ServerThread-1] ERROR  SERVER-EXCEPTION - [null,null,null,] com.sap.mw

    When we execute a SAP transaction through xMII, xMII server is brought down.
    I looked in the cms.log file and found this:
    <b><i><i>2007-10-16 11:07:23,355 [JCO.ServerThread-1] ERROR  SERVER-EXCEPTION - [null,null,null,] com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (129) JCO_ERROR_SERVER_STARTUP: Server startup failed at Tue Oct 16 11:07:23 EDT 2007.
    This is caused by either a) erroneous server settings, b) the backend system has been shutdown, c) network problems. Will try next startup in 64 seconds.</i></i></b>
    When I try to log back onto xMII, I see the following:
    <b><i>Error Executing Transaction Status (500) Internal Server Error.</i></b>
    I created a Business Logic Services transaction within XMII.  This BLS extracts data from AFPO Order Item table.  A Repeater loops through the RESPONSE output table, and executes a SAP Query to load the data into Oracle tables.
    I also have a BLS that executes BAPI_PRODORD_GET_LIST.
    When I execute either one of these transactions, the system will fail with the above error when the amount of data being extracted reaches a specific number.
    I have simplified the BLS to run a JCO block for BAPI_PRODORD_GET_LIST and a tracer block.  When I execute the BLS that executes BAPI_PRODORD_GET_LIST to retrieve 2,000 production orders, the transaction hangs.  After 30 minutes, I terminate the transaction so it won’t take the xMII server down again.  However, had I had a repeater to loop through the output and load into the oracle tables, the server goes down.
    That’s my problem.  My other question to the problem is this.
    What are the limitations to the amount of data that can be extracted from SAP via xMII?  Excel spreadsheets can download 40,000 records.  You can write a SELECT * in any language and pull down 40,000 records.  What is going on?

    David,
    Just an FYI the error message that you have found is not connected to your BLS transaction but rather the default IDoc listener trying to connect to something that doesn't exist.  This listener will automatically start each time xMII starts, as a result you can set it up to connect to an RFC destination or delete the default configuration and it will go away.
    Now onto your issue; How many Production Orders are being returned from the BAPI?  How are you loading each of them into Oracle?  How much memory is allocated to ServletExec vs. How much is available on the machine?  By default xMII will limit all SQL/Tag queries to their <b>RowCount</b> with a max at 250k rows but this does not apply to the JCo call.
    My suggestion here is to look for the other error message that pertains to your transaction which may reside in the ServletExec logs and not xMII, they can be found on your xMII machine here: http://localhost/servletexec/admin/login.jsp
    Hope this helps.
    Sam
