Track changes in business rule made using SOA composer

Hi,
I have business rules deployed on a server. Authorized user can change condition or any other thing in a business rule using soa composer. How can i track changes made in this business rule?
i.e. I want to view the change and if possible who changes it.
I am using SOA 11g
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

  • Changing 11g Business Rules

    I have a number of questions around the new version of the business rules in the SOA Suite 11g.
    When I add a rules dictionary to a composite am I correct that I cannot reference the dictionary outside of that composite?
    When deploying rules the composite and rules are deployed into the MDS and I can then use the web author to change the rules but are these changes viewable back in jdev?
    Is there any way to reuse rules dictionaries in seperate composites or do I need to create a sub somposite just for the rules dictionary and reuse the composite?
    What is th best way to version my rules? If we version at composite level then this defeats the whole process of changing rules on the fly because I then need to redeploy the rules composite every time I need to make a change (Obviously I know ideally changes should never be made in production and should be tested seperately and deployed correctly into production)
    Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

    The tree mode feature in 11 sounds like it would most fit this. With this, you could write expressions like:
    Request/Context.key == "foo" &&
    Request/Context.value == "bar"
    Where the / indicates a one-to-many relationship.
    There are more examples of this in the OBR User's Guide.

  • Business rule to use page member on form

    Hi all,
    I need to create a business rule which uses a page member on the form. Created a RTP variable and used it in the Rule.Attached the rule and selected "use members on the form" and "Hide Prompt".But, Is still asking for prompt. How to unhide the prompt?

    Is it a calc manage rule or an EAS business rule, which version of planning.

  • Enable/select/change to Business rules from Calc Manager in App settings

    Hi all,
    Somehow we are Unable to Expand the Planning Node in Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Console When Creating Business Rules. I am not sure is it
    I am not sure, is it because of one of the application has calc settings as calc manager in under application settings in dev environment, but in other environment all applications set it as Business Rules.
    I was trying to change from Calc Manager to Business rules in App settings, but it is grayed out and not able to change to Business rule from calc manager.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,

    If it say been set incorrectly then you may need to update one of the relational tables for the application.
    Table - HSP_SYSTEMCFG
    Field - CALC_ENGINE_OPTIONS
    Values - 1=HBR, 2=CalcMgr
    Restart the planning application web app service after making changes.
    Cheers

  • Planning Server Requires Restart to Show Changes to Business Rules

  • CEV business rule only uses first set of parameters in multiple inserts

    We have a cev rule that logs data for emails when a record is inserted in a table.
    Where there are two records inserted from a script, even where a qms_transaction_mgt.open_transaction and close transaction are used around each insert, the CEV record parameters do not change.
    By this I mean we have two records:
    1 - id: 22
    2 - id: 23
    We pass the id to the CEV business rule and dbms_output the parameter value - it indicates that for both records the p_id = 22.
    The insert into the table indicates that the record ids were 22 and 23.
    This appears to have been reported several times but there is no solution.

    I would set it lower than 20 minutes as that is quite high before it sends the rules into the background, if the spawning at 10 minutes try setting it just lower than 10 as a test.
    It may also be worth looking into the apache timeout (if you are using the apache web server plugin) as that could also be playing a part.
    Cheers

  • Changes to business rules in EAS not reflecting in planning

    Hi Friends,
    One of my client is facing the issue issue.Could anyone help on the issue.
    When a new business rule is created or changed in EAS, the changes are not reflected in Planning. A stop and restart of the service is required to see the new business rule or a change to a calculation.
    This is a consistent error we are having in development.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    First I would check to see if any patches relate to the issue you are having.
    I would then log the issue with Oracle to see if they can help any further and it could be a bug.
    It sounds like the cache may not be getting updated so planning doesn't see any changes, restarting clears the cache and objects are read directly from the database tables so you can the changes, that is just a guess though.
    Cheers

  • LCM Business Rules Export using Utility.bat

    Hi All,
    Wondering if anyone has any tips on using Utility.bat to export business rules.  I've defined a migration for business rules but it only exports one Business Rule to xml.  When executing the same migration definition from Shared Services, the business rules get exported to XML fine.
    We're running Planning 11.1.2.1.600.2.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hello  Ryan,
    Want  to  Export  BR of  ESSBASE  (or) from  Calc manager .
    If  Calc  manager then first  select  all the  Calc  manager  related  artifacts  through  migration definition, after  you  get  the  export XML file ,Create  a  import  migration XML  file  .
    Now try  to  use  Utility.cmd  and  place  the  files  in  Utility.cmd  folder  only  and  import  all  calc  rules .

    Mani,
    I have implemented Drools by exposing them over web service call through Business Service of OSB.
    As you are using Java Callout, try to set proper return type for the java method called, better to use XMLObjects as the return type.

    The ldap search filter should read "cn=changelog"
    So the query should be something like
    ldapsearch -b "yourbase" -D "yourbind" -w passwd -s sub

    To make the output readabel, you may need the option -o if you use the iDS ldapsearch. If you use the Sun ldapsearch, the -o is not needed.

  • Oracle Business Rule  OBR  SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0

    Hi,
    I have created a business rule and used it in my BPEL process. The business rule example is as follow
    <code> if the state is va then give 10% discount<code>
    If I need to change it to 25%
    Then I would modify the business rule via jdev and redeploy the composite application.
    Question. How can I modify the business rule through the EM?
    I need to modify the rule values without using jdev and redeploying the composite.
    Thanks

    maybe what you need is ruleauthor:
    http://www.packtpub.com/article/business-rules-define-decision-points-oracle-soa-suite-part1
    but if you use weblogic it's not deployed by default:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28965/faq.htm#CBAFGBIG
    disclaimer: I have never used ruleauthor so don't consider me an expert...

  • SOA Suite Business Rules: Error caching the Decision Services metadata

    hi ofm users
    im currentntly trying
    SOA Suite 11.1.1.1.0
    on Oracle XE
    on Windows XP Pro
    what im trying is a simple use case of business rule component,
    my service is getWorkStatusByDay, that i implement using
    business rules component using decision table.
    my rule model is (conceptually):
    Day{
         String id;
         String code;//mon,tue,wed,...,sat,sun
    WorkStatus{
         String id;
         String code;//holiday, work
    WorkStatus getWorkStatusByDay(Day):
    is rule service that decides WorkStatus code by Day code,
    eg:
    if Day.code=mon,tue,wed,...,fri then we got WorkStatus.code=work
    if Day.code=sat,sun then we got WorkStatus.code=holiday
    i've successfully created the composite project, using
    rule component, mediator, and exposed it as a webservice
    compiled and deployed ok.
    but when i try to run the service using soapUI WS tester,
    i'm getting error in the console, see stacktrace below.
    im able to reproduce the error by deploying the project
    to another computer with a same spec as above.
    So is there any solution to this ? how to fix this issue,
    as this is a very basic sample scenario.
    Any information will be appreciated,
    as im looking forward to evaluating Oracle Business for a client project :)

    Project 2 also has a business rule in its own datasync. That rule is accessed from backing file. It executes fine.
    Any help.......

    Hi
    We are thinking of using a separate portal project with all the business rules and use a remote portlet for getting the result.
    The question is like the wsrp-producer-registry.xml has to be manually copied to the running EAR and the <wsrp-producer handle> entry has to be manually made. Is it not possible to have the <wsrp-producer handle> entry automatically.
    Also, <wsdl-url> entry currently is http://localhost:7001/xyz/producer?wsdl. But if the entries have to be made manually. do we need to repeat the process for other envirnments. i.e, the <wsdl-url> has to be changed manually in every environment and then deployed? Or is it not required to make any entries?
    Are there any other limitations, using this approach..
