Transaction KZA1 - Database Table information required

Which tables do we access to get the data on Overhead rate cost?
Are there any standard function modules/BAPis etc which we can make use of?
(Path: Tcode: KZA1 - Costing sheet;-> corresponding Base and overhead cost)
Appreciate your help..

  • JDE table information required

    Hi,
I’ve started a new project where I’ll be using JD Edwards as the source system to extract the following data -
    * Operating Costs – operating costs against every cost centre and expense element combination
    * Workforce Data – Salary, oncosts information for all employees
    * Capital expenditure – Capital project/ fixed assets hierarchy and related capital expenditure data
    * Revenue information –
    * General Ledger accounts – for balance sheet and P&L
Not sure if my terminology is correct above as I’ve not used JD Edwards before.
Now It will be great if someone can answer my following basic questions -
    * Can you please tell me the table numbers/names from where I can extract the above mentioned information in JD Edwards.
    * How is operating costs stored in JD Edwards – Is it by cost centre and expense element combination.
    * What is the term used for expense element or expense type? How do you identify different expense types ?
    * How can I see what a GL account is made of ?
    Thanks in Advance!!

  • Need information on accessing database tables in small incremental chunks

I've been building up a database of information for sometime now. I want to start moving some of the information from the database into other formats.
The table is quite large and I want to use cached row sets with it rather than hold the connection to the database. So I want to learn what the best way would be to grab, for instance, the first 50 items in a cached row set, once they're complete, move onto the next 50 and so on.
However I am fairly new at using Java to interact with databases. I'm not sure what the best way to go about this would be or if I'm even going down the right path by using cached row sets.
Could anyone recommend some decent sites for achieving this or even good web sites for general database manipulation with Java?

If you can live without the cached row set, I would recommend define methods of ResultsSet type and use that to retrieve data from the database and store it in csv file. In my data mining project I was dealing with 3.5+million large data set, chomp them into different chunks of data sets.
Since you have mention that you want to import these data into other formats, I would recommend this option since CSV files can be used in any kind of software applications with out minimum effort.
I am currently hosting the project on Google Code so let me know if you like to take a look at it.

  • Need Information on database tables in OIM Schema

    Hi All,
Is there any document/link where can I get all the information on all OIM Schema database tables like obj, orf and so forth information?
    Regards,
    Sunny

    Hi,
Also, you can perform the queries below to get the table names and the name of each field when using the OIM's api. Change the OIMDBUSER value for your OIM's schema name. You'll notice some tables do not have comments, for example, the resource and process form tables (starts with UD). For the ""UD_*" tables, you can get the SDK_DESCRIPTION
<h3>Getting the table names WITHOUT UD_ descriptions</h3>
    *SELECT* t.owner, t.table_name, tc.comments <br>
    *FROM* all_tables t, all_tab_comments tc <br>
    *WHERE* t.owner = 'OIMDBUSER' *AND* tc.table_name = t.table_name
    *ORDER BY* t.table_name
<h3>Getting the table names WITH UD_ descriptions</h3>
    *SELECT* t.owner, t.table_name, NVL(tc.comments, NVL(sdk.sdk_form_description, 'No Comments')) comments <br>

  • Navigation for database tables in a transaction code

    Hi all !
Is there any way to know the database tables linked to a transaction code, so that searching for fields in tables gets easier right? Please help.
What is the use of Tcode SE80.How can we make use of this transaction?

    hi,
    SE80 - Object Navigator
se80 is a tool to develope and navigate programs and dd-obj.
SE80 Object Navigator - > means all the objects qill be available there.
in se80 in addition to viewing the objects related to programming and classess, there are more priviliges to view such as some other repositories suchas mime, object repository, object browser and all..
The 2 editors are se38 and se80 both have the abap editor in place. In se38 you can go create programs and view online reports and basically do all thedevelopmet of objects in this editor. In se80 ( object navigator) there are additional features such as creating packages, module pool , function group ,classes, programs ( where you can create ur programs) and BSP applications .
SE38, u will get more space in editor when u compare with the SE80 screen, the tree structure available will occupy more space so it will be eay for us to code.
If u want to do any special navigation then u can got to SE80, but there is no specific reason.
It depends on teh users convineince.
se80 is to navigate to every object .....
but everytime there is no need to navigate to several steps and go to abap editor.
So there certain transactions which takes us to directly to the objects such as SE38 for abapaeditor
    SE37 for function module
    SE93 for creating transaction codes...etc.
U can also traverse to se80 from SE38 itself using CtrlShiftF5.
SE 38 ->Abap Editor thru which we can create/modify the programs.
SE80 ->Object Navigator thru which we can navigate to many areas like message classes,Function modules, application areas, transactions, programs etc.

  • Updating database table from co11n transaction ?

I got a requirement to add two new addional fields  and want to save it in the standard table for reporting purpose. I follwed the steps like :
    1. I created new fields in the table AFRU using appending struture. and activated it using se14.
    2. I created a project and entered the enhancment (CONFPP07)  and i created the screen-exit. then i declared thse two fields in the include : ZXCOFTOP. once i activated the screen exit it appeared in the CO11N TCODE but when i enter some values in this fields , its getting stored  in the variable but i dont know how to store this value in the table AFRU .
    3. for updating i used the exit CONFPP05 and my would be like AFRUD_TAB-ZZSHIF = CAPTAIN.
but the problem is its not getting updated in the database table AFRU.
should i have to use module ...endmodule in ( SAPLCORU_S - 900 screen , exit : CONFPP07 ) and write code... , like the we follow
for ztransaction or how should i solve this issue ?

So, according to your code, it means that :
    1) your screen field is WA_AFRUD-ZZSHIF
    2) WA_AFRUD is declared as global (in ZXCOFTOP)
    Is that true?
In PAI: EXIT_SAPLCORU_S_101, you should only do:
    move wa_afrud-zzshif to es_afrud-zzshif.
In Exit : EXIT_SAPLCORF_105, you have to replace 'A'
    LOOP AT AFRUD_TAB.
    AFRUD_TAB-ZZSHIF = *wa_afrud-zzshif.* "'A'
    MODIFY AFRUD_TAB.
    ENDLOOP.
Note that LOOP AT  is problable not the good coding (I think that this exit has to remain empty), it was just a test to check it works
Did you think to activate your project in CMOD? (you have to activate both project, and the exits)
Are you sure your exit is called. Did you debug it?
See also Note 12831 (program SAPRSMODCHECK) to check there is no problem between project/exits

  • Field value in transaction  is diferent in database table.

Hi, i have a field type "curr" in a transaction. The field has a value in the transaction but  this value is diferent in
the table that fill this transaction. For example, so field value is 6000 in the transaction, in the table is 60,00.
I need get this value with the format in the transaction.
    Can you help me, please?

    Hi
It means you're using a currency without decimals, in this case the system stores the amount devided for 100 in order to use the field completely and safe the space.
Every field for a amount needs a currency field for the control: so the system can know how to store and display it
When u write an amount you should always use the option CURRENCY in order to convert it to output format automatically.
    WRITE <AMOUNT> CURRENCY <CURRENCY>.

  • Deletion of data within the database tables

The user is trying to clean up the 2014 data within the database tables. He is running a delete function which keeps causing the log files
to exceed their limit. The tables are large and he is unable to delete the data in one command due to available size and logging. What is the best way to approach this?
    Thanks,

    Hi venkatesh1985,
According to your description, the user fails to delete data in tables due to the limited space of log file. Based on my research, this issue could occur when you use the delete statement(DELETE FROM ExampleTable) in a single transaction and consume all
available space on your transaction log disk.
To avoid this issue, you could use the two methods below to delete the data.
    1. Use a loop combined with TOP and delete rows in smaller transactions as the following example. This method requires you to delete all the tables one by one.
    SELECT 1
    WHILE @@ROWCOUNT > 0
    BEGIN
    DELETE TOP (1000)
    FROM LargeTable
    END
For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
    http://dbadiaries.com/how-to-delete-millions-of-rows-using-t-sql-with-reduced-impact
    2. If you want to delete all the data from all tables in the specific database, you could script the entire database and all database objects. Then drop the database and recreate it using the script as the steps below.
    a. In Object Explorer, expand the node for the instance containing the database to be scripted.
    b. Point to Tasks, and then click Generate Scripts and click Next.
    c. Select the option of 'Script the entire database and all database objects'.
    d. Specify how scripts should be saved. You could save the script to a file or new query window. Click Next, then click ok.
    e. Drop the database, and run the script in the query window to recreate it. For more information, please refer to the article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb895179.aspx#Introduction
In addition, if possible, please increase the size of the log file or move the log file to a different disk with more disk space.

    Michelle Li

  • Types of database tables

types of database tables and one line definition

    Hi
    Table Types
    Standard table:
The key access to a standard table uses a sequential search. The time required for an access is linearly dependent on the number of entries in the internal table.
You should usually access a standard table with index operations.
    Sorted table:
The table is always stored internally sorted by its key. Key access to a sorted table can therefore use a binary search. If the key is not unique, the entry with the lowest index is accessed. The time required for an access is logarithmically dependent on the number of entries in the internal table.
Index accesses to sorted tables are also allowed. You should usually access a sorted table using its key.
    Hash table:
The table is internally managed with a hash procedure. All the entries must have a unique key. The time required for a key access is constant, that is it does not depend on the number of entries in the internal table.
You cannot access a hash table with an index. Accesses must use generic key operations (SORT, LOOP, etc.).
    Index table:
The table can be a standard table or a sorted table.
Index access is allowed to such an index table. Index tables can be used to define the type of generic parameters of a FORM (subroutine) or a function module.

Pooled Tables, Table Pools, Cluster Tables, and Table Clusters
These types of tables are not transparent in the sense that they are not legible or manageable directly using the underlying database system tools. They are managed from within the R/3 environment from the ABAP dictionary and also at runtime when they are loaded into application memory.Pool and cluster tables are logical tables. Physically, these logical tables are arranged as records of transparent tables. The pool and cluster tables are grouped together in other tables, which are of the transparent type. The tables that group together pool tables are known as table pools, or just pools; similarly, table clusters, or just
clusters, are the tables which group cluster tables. Not all operations that can be performed over transparent tables can be executed over pool or cluster tables.
For instance, you can manage these tables using Open SQL calls from ABAP, but not Native SQL.These tables are meant to be buffered and loaded in memory, because they are commonly used for storing internal control information and other types of data with no external (business) relevance. SAP recommends that tables of pool or cluster type be used exclusively for control information such as
program parameters, documentation, and so on. Transaction and application data should be stored in transparent tables.
    Table Pools
From the point of view of the underlying DBMS as from the point of view of the ABAP dictionary, a table pool is a transparent table containing a group of pooled tables which, when created, were assigned to this table pool.
    Field Type Description
    TABNAME CHAR(10) Table name
    VARKEY CHAR(n) Maximum key length n =< 110
DATALN INT2(5) Length of the VARDATA record returned
VARDATA RAW(m) Maximum length of the data varies according to DBMS
    Table Clusters
Similarly to pooled tables, cluster tables are logical tables which, when created, are assigned to a table cluster. Therefore, a table cluster, or just cluster, groups together several tables of type clusters.Several logical rows from different cluster tables are brought together in a single physical record. The records
from the cluster tables assigned to a cluster are thus stored in a single common table in the database.A cluster contains a transparent cluster key which must be located at the start of the key of all logical cluster tables to be included in the cluster. As well, a cluster contains a long field (VARDATA), which contains the
data of the cluster tables for this key. If the data does not fit into a field, continuation records are created.
    Field Type Description
    CLKEY1 CHAR(*) First key fields
    CLKEY2 CHAR(*) Second key field
    CLKEYN CHAR(*) nth key field
PAGENO INT2(5) Number of the next page
    TIMESTMP CHAR(14) Time stamp
PAGELG INT2(5) Length of the VARDATA record returned
VARDATA RAW(*) Maximum length of the data section; varies according to database system
    Working with Tables
The dictionary includes many functions for working with tables. There are five basic operations you can perform on tables: display, create, delete, modify, copy. Please do not confuse displaying a table with displaying the table entries (table contents). In order to display a table, it must previously exist; otherwise the system will display an error message in the status bar. For the following example, the table TABNA is used. To display this table, from the main dictionary screen, enter the table name in the Object name
input field with the radio button selected next to Tables. Then, click on the Display button at the bottom of the screen, or press the F7 function key, or, alternatively,
select Dictionary object Display from the menu.
In this screen, you can see table information such as
¨ Table type, shown next to the name of the object. In the example, it is a transparent table.
    ¨ Short text description.
¨ Name of the user who made the last change, and the date of the change.
    ¨ Master language.
¨ Table status. On the screen, you can see this table is saved and active.
¨ Development class. For information on development classes, refer to Chap. 6.
Delivery class, which sets the maintenance group for the table. It controls how tables will behave during client copy procedures, upgrades, and so forth.¨
Tab. Maint. Allowed flag, which indicates whether you can generate a screen for maintaining table entries.
¨Then, on the lower part of the screen, you can see the table fields with all associated characteristics such as:
    ¨ Field name.
¨ Key indicator. When set, this field is the primary key, or part of it.
    ¨ Data element.
    ¨ Basic data type.
    ¨ Length.
    ¨ Check table.
¨ Short text, describing the field.
Additional information about the table can be displayed by selecting the corresponding functions from the menu or directly from the application toolbar, such as keys, indexes, or technical settings

  • No data in Portal Database tables for Activity Report

    Hi experts,
I've developed an Activity Report application in SAP Portal 7.0, which went live but the report shows no data.
We are pulling data from 2 portal database tables: WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT and WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE
In non production environment there is data in the report but there is no data in the production environment.
The Activity Report service is already activated/started and set to true.
What could have caused this? And what should we check now?
What other configurations/setup should be done?
    Regards,
    Greg

    Hi Greg,
Those are the aggregated tables. If they are not filled with data although the Portal Activity Report is activated, you should check whether the aggregation finished successfully.
In the older SPs there were some problems that were fixed in later SPs of 7.0.
In order to have the latest version of Portal Activity report, you can check SAP note 1084379 - Portal Activity Report - Latest Version (SDA file).
You can compare the SP via the MANIFAST file, as it contains the version and SP number.
In order to troubleshoot problems in Activity Report, you can follow SAP note: 1690023 - Portal Activity Report - Component-specific Note
Some basic checks that you can do:
Run query on the raw data tables to check since when there is data in those tables:
    select min(timestamphour) from SAP<SystemID>DB.WCR_WEBCNODESTAT;
If there is too much data from long time ago, then you should delete the old data, and leave only the new data (there is anyways retention time for the data to be kept).
If there is no data, then it means that the Portal Activity Report does not collect data, and not really activated (usually this is not the case).
The aggregation runs every top of the hour, so you can check in the default traces for an error during that time.
In most of the cases something went wrong while aggregating the data.
As a result the aggregation is not finished, so the transaction is not being committed, and the aggregated tables stay empty.
If there is a DuplicateKeyException in the trace, you can follow SAP note 1054145 - Duplicate Key Exception.
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
    I hope this information helps,
    Thanks & regards,
    Michal Zilcha-Lang

    Hi,
After displaying ALV report output, if you want to update database table based on your selected record, then use the below logic in your User_command subroutine.
You will get the index of the selected record in rs_selfield-tabindex. using this index read the respective record from the internal table and move corresponding field to the table fields and then update.
    data : wa_data like t_data.
    read table t_data index rs_selfield-tabindex into wa_data.
    if sy-subrc = 0.
       move-corresponding wa_data to ztable.
       insert ztable.
    endif.
    thanks,
    sksingh
