Transfer data from a Structure to other Structure when one is inactive

Hello, users and companions of LabVIEW and National Instruments Products, Hello, I'm working in a proyect with 2 Incremental Encoder Mitutoyo, I have a Digital Read Out (DRO) System for read the encoders,
The proyect consist in measure a Paraboli Suspension for the cars; using 2 encoders, in X Length an Y for the thickness.
I have a subroutine for read data from the DRO, then the data are storage in an array, but I want to stop this subroutine when the DRO reaches the total length of the parabolic suspension, because the reading is finished, this data I obtain it from other Sub-VI, but I can't to send it to the subroutine of reading for stop the subroutine and then back to the pricipal menu for make other reading if it is desired.
The VIs what I did is anexed in this mail.
P.D: In the llb is menu.vi
Thanks for your help Greetings and Blessings.

Hi George, two ways you can make this is by creating a global variable in which you store your array or use a functional global variable. Also if you have LabVIEW 8.x you can use shared variables for this.
By the way there you can use the “Discusiones sobre Productos NI”  message board where you can make your post directly in Spanish

    Hi Sunil.
Function MRM_INVOICE_CHECK doesn't exist in system 4.6c. Also I've searched for it in ECC 5 and I got the same result. Are you sure about the name of the function?
From the function group MRMC, I found this:
    MRM_BADI_INVOICE_CHECK
    MRM_DUPLICATE_INVOICE_CHECK
I haven't still check them. But for what I know, the second one (...DUPLICATE...) processes a control to avoid a double entry of the invoice, I not sure it will work. I'll let you know.

  • Can I use TM to transfer data from my current iMac to a new one?

I have a new iMac and I would like to migrate my old iMac into the new one. I have thought of connecting the old to the new one and using Migration Assistant, but I am wondering if it would make more sense (if possible) to do this through the old Imac's Time Machine backup.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to help me with this. I am looking at migrating everything.
    Thank you!

Sure, you can use the TM backup via Migration Assistant. When you run Migration Assistant you will have an option to restore from a TM backup instead of another Mac. Just connect your TM backup drive to the new computer but don't turn on TM until you've finished your migration.
Do not migrate "everything." Your old machine may have a different version or build of OS X than the new one. If the old machine is a PPC machine then you may have components that are incompatible with the new machine. See the following:
A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.
    2. If you have a MacBook Air or Late 2008 MacBook see the following:

    In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)

Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
    Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
Credit goes to Macjack for this information.
If you need to transfer data for other applications please ask the vendor or ask in the Discussions where specific applications store their data.

Anything purchased from the Mac App Store will appear under "Purchased". Download it. You don't have to pay for it again.
If you purchased iWork on disc, copy it from the old MacBook.

  • Cannot access desktop to shoe files or folders since using migration assistant to transfer data from my old iMac to my new one.  What do I need to do to access the desktop?

    Cannot access desktop

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • How to extract data from a structure?(Data Dictionary)

    Hi all,
This is regarding extracting data from a structure.
For Eg:if we want to extract data from a structure ADDR1_DATA,How will we do that in report programming?Structures on its own has no existence unless it s attached to a database table or view.when am using 'Where used List' on that structure also I am not getting any database tables or views. What can I do about this?
    Thanking you,
    anjaly

    HI Anjaly,
as you said structure does not have any value .. unless something is added to it..
So just use the structure to define the type of the sttructure you want..
Or to include it in your itab like..
data : Begin of itab occurs 0.
           include structure ADDR1_DATA.
    data  i type i.
           end of itab.
you cannot directly extract data from the  structure ADDR1_DATA..

  • How do i get data from a structure using join?

    hi,
what is the actual use of a structure.?
    my problem is :
KUAGV is an existing STRUCTURE. it has got one fields each which links to MARA, AND VBKD tables. i want to fetch all related information from KUAGV, mara, vbkd . which is the better way : using joins or views or anything else? how do i
get data from a structure using join?

structure temporarily holds  any data passed to it dynamically throughout the runtime but doesnot store it permanently. so
a structure cannot be included in a join.so instead of incuding structure KUAGV's field in a join
search the transparent table in which same field are present and  use it in join.
A structure if created in DDIC(Data Dictionary) is a global DATA STRUCTURE which is used to group related information, for example you would group all the details of your bank account into a structure BANK_ACCOUNT that contains fields like account_Id, account_holder_name etc.
If you create a structure in your program then it is local to your program. So you use this structure to create data holders of this DATA TYPE to hold data in your program.

  • Get the data from a structure not a transparent table

Hello masters, does anyone knows how to retrieve data from a structure?

Structures do not contain data, they are mearly a way to describe it and are usually used in screen programming to collect data into which come from transparent tables.  For example, lets say you have data from two tables that need to be displayed on a screen, the data is related, so a good programming practice is to use a structure either described internally in the program, or in the ABAP dictionary.  Then in the program, you retrieve the data from the transpart tables and move the data to the structure fields, these structure fields are then defined within the screen.
Anyway, when you do F1 help on a field in a screen, and it is says that it is part of a structure, then this is becasue the structure is being used to group these fields into a common container when doing the screen programming, so it is a little trickier to find where the data is coming from, but not impossible.  One way is to use the ST05 to do a SQL trace on the program, this will tell you the tables being hit, and you can find the data that way.  Another way, is to debug the program, and see where the data is coming from.

  • Extracting data from a Structure in R/3.

    Hi,
This is in continuation to one of my previous questions.
I found that for a standard report  "S_ALR_87012347"  for FI GL in R/3, the values are taken from a structure "FAGL_S_RFBPET00_LIST2".
I have used 0FIGL_O02 DSO and 0FI_GL_3 Datasource. The problem is I do not get proper values for G/L Account where the account type is either K (Vendor) or D (Customer). Instead of showing the Vendor/Customer Number here the report shows the G/L account number which is quite obvious. But if we see in the R/3 report (mentioned above), the account number field shows the Vendor/Customer Number if the Account Type is either K or D.
My question is: can I directly extract data from the Structure FAGL_S_RFBPET00_LIST2?
    If yes, then how...???
    Thanks...!

Structure does not contains any data. You have to write code (Function module) to populate the data for structure fields.

  • Get the data from the structure OR View

    Hi All,
how wud i take data from the structure OR View? when i m writing the select query then its saying that its not defind in data dictionary.
I hav the requirement to develop a report for PM module..
in that i hav all structure like AFVGD,CAUFVD,PMCOEA...
Plz tel me how to write a select quary for this...

    Hi,
You cannot select data from a structure.
A structure / work area contains data only at the run-time.
You can select data from views and tables.
The data you need to select will be in Database tables. All you need to do
is to find those table and select from there.
Let me know if you need further help.
